DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED PERFORMANCE\nThe performance has been cancelled due to some positive cases among the dancers\, in compliance with prevention and safety measures to combat and contain the spread of Covid. \nAnother Story\, the duet by Diego Tortelli\, is at Scandicci\, near Florence\, for the festival Nutida. \nStarring Ina Lesnakowski and Hélias Tur-Dorvault. \nAnother Story tells the new story of the most feared and at the same time desired gesture of 2020: the hug. A gesture as simple as a hug has been transformed into the most hidden desire and at the opposite into an almost “terrorist” act\, without losing its deep meaning of carnal sharing. Another Story becomes a solitary\, shared\, violent\, painful\, tiring and also desired\, hidden\, intimate embrace. What choreographer Diego Tortelli intends to do is to write another story to be mutually felt and observed by performer and spectator. \n\n  \n

We are wrapped and enveloped in an atmosphere that has much that is wonderful\, but we aren’t aware of it.\nDon’t disregard anyone’s sensitivity. Each person’s sensitivity is their genius. \nCharles Baudelaire \n\nUsing a fragmented movement a dancer wants to tell the tragedy and constant innovation of the Body\, a dance that doesn’t wait for time to flow\, but shapes it at its will by speeding up and slowing the hours to reveal their skill\, beauty\, distortion and memory. Freedom of corporal expression of this poetic is achieved by a total embrace of the body’s folly just as the “maudit” deals with his place in society by destroying every rational connection before letting his own experience take over\, without constraints. His strength is that it is not essential to fully understand the content or the source of inspiration in order to ‘hear’ and ‘be heard’. Through his work\, Cave argues that we should not go to the theatre\, to a concert\, to a museum\, in order to understand\, but in order to ask questions and to enrich ourselves\, to analyse ourselves. \nIn one of his pieces I found the question I wanted to ask myself for this creation: MAH SANCTUM (my belief). \nWhat do I believe in? I believe in the ‘body’\, I believe in its fragility and strength\, in its limitation and expansion\, in its capacity for change and constant transformation\, I believe in its contemporaneity\, but also in its capacity to continue to feel those emotions that have been handed down to us; I believe in its violent beauty and frightening fragility. In this work I research above all on these obsessions\, compulsions\, addictions\, contrasts\, transforming the bodies of the five dancers not into men and women\, but into emotional impulses; impulses that are part of written poems of which it would be enough to understand that they do not end there on the stage. \nPRELUDIO is my profane prayer\, my love letter to the body\, my credo for today.\n \nDiego Tortelli \n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:MicroDanze\, the complex project of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto combining dance\, visual art\, public art and virtual reality\, premieres (as far as the “exhibition” dimension is concerned) in Athens on 9 and 10 October\, at several relevant cultural venues of the city: the Greek National Opera / Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center\, the Acropolis Museum and the EMST Museum. \nThe project is conceived by the general director and programming manager Gigi Cristoforetti\, the choreographies by Norge Cedeño Raffo\, Francesca Lattuada\, Pietro Marullo\, Fernando Melo\, Angelin Preljocaj\, Roberto Zappalà\, Diego Tortelli\, Saul Daniele Ardillo\, Philippe Kratz\, Ina Lesnakowski\, Roberto Tedesco\, Hélias Tur-Dorvault. \n  \n\nOn the occasion of the dates in the Greek capital\, the 12 MicroDanze of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto are joined by 9 other creations by Greek choreographers and dancers\, with the artistic coordination of the Greek National Opera Ballet\, directed by Konstantinos Rigos. Among the various artists involved on the Greek side are Lenio Kaklea\, Cecilia Bengolea\, Yiannis Nikolaidis and Rigos himself. SUMMARY:MICRODANZE
DESCRIPTION:MicroDanze\, the complex project of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto combining dance\, visual art\, public art and virtual reality\, premieres (as far as the “exhibition” dimension is concerned) in Athens on 9 and 10 October\, at several relevant cultural venues of the city: the Greek National Opera / Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center\, the Acropolis Museum and the EMST Museum. \nThe project is conceived by the general director and programming manager Gigi Cristoforetti\, the choreographies by Norge Cedeño Raffo\, Francesca Lattuada\, Pietro Marullo\, Fernando Melo\, Angelin Preljocaj\, Roberto Zappalà\, Diego Tortelli\, Saul Daniele Ardillo\, Philippe Kratz\, Ina Lesnakowski\, Roberto Tedesco\, Hélias Tur-Dorvault. \n  \n\nOn the occasion of the dates in the Greek capital\, the 12 MicroDanze of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto are joined by 9 other creations by Greek choreographers and dancers\, with the artistic coordination of the Greek National Opera Ballet\, directed by Konstantinos Rigos. Among the various artists involved on the Greek side are Lenio Kaklea\, Cecilia Bengolea\, Yiannis Nikolaidis and Rigos himself. Thus\, an exhibition of 21 creations comes to life\, celebrating 200 years since the 1821 revolution that led to Greek independence. \nThe exhibition of the 12 MicroDanze of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto is curated by director Fabio Cherstich. \nMicroDanze\, co-produced by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani of Reggio Emilia\, is part of the project An Ideal City\, co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and developed by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto in partnership with the Greek National Opera in Athens and Les Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels. \nThe world premiere in Athens is supported by: \n  \n\n  \n

DESCRIPTION:PREMIERE \nAterballetto dances Storie at Auditorium Fausto Melotti in Rovereto. \n\nStorie is a small anthology of danced fragments. They are only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the bill\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on Nick Cave music\, Another story is a duo about the impossible gesture of 2020\, the hug. \nBetween past and future the two creations by Kratz. The duo “O” offers us two human bodies / robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and heartfelt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a creation for six dancers at the end of the bill\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication among people who feel on the same level. It too is severely stretched by the present times. \n  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto performs in Bolzano Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n

DESCRIPTION:Due to the quarantine that some of the protagonists of the ballet Don Juan had to undergo\, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto have decided to replace the title\, scheduled from 29 December 2021 to 2 January 2022\, with three of the most popular choreographies created in recent years by the dance company. The times and dates of the performances remain unchanged.\nWednesday 29 December h 20.00 \nThursday 30 December h 20.00 \nFriday 31 December h 18.00 \nSunday 2 January h 16.00 \nThe evening opens with Preludio\, a creation for five performers by Diego Tortelli – Aterballetto’s resident choreographer – created around some of the most intense poems and songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, one of the greatest exponents of Post Punk. Cave tackles the interweaving of themes such as love\, addiction\, obsession and loss. \nThe programme continues with “O” by Philippe Kratz – a former Aterballetto dancer and choreographer – a duet that has already been appreciated abroad. “O” represents two human beings or two robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact could change: will it remain emotional and heart-felt\, or will it become serial and alienated? \nClosing is BLISS by Johan Inger\, which won the 2016 Danza&Danza Award as ‘Italian Production of the Year’\, inspired by the music of Keith Jarrett’s Köln Concert. Inger and the dancers on stage talk about how one relates to this iconic music: a compositional and emotional challenge. \n
