SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:At Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona\, Aterballetto dances Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n

Cave tackles the interweaving of themes such as love\, addiction\, obsession and loss. \nThe programme continues with “O” by Philippe Kratz – a former Aterballetto dancer and choreographer – a duet that has already been appreciated abroad. “O” represents two human beings or two robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact could change: will it remain emotional and heart-felt\, or will it become serial and alienated? \nClosing is BLISS by Johan Inger\, which won the 2016 Danza&Danza Award as ‘Italian Production of the Year’\, inspired by the music of Keith Jarrett’s Köln Concert. Inger and the dancers on stage talk about how one relates to this iconic music: a compositional and emotional challenge. \n

DESCRIPTION:Due to several cases of dancers testing positive for Covid\, the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza and the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani are forced to cancel the event.\n\nHowever\, the visiting hours for the exhibition have been extended\, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays.\nThe appointment with the MicroDances – recent winners of the prestigious “Danza & Danza 2021” Award for original project\, multimediality and internationality – is only postponed to next summer\, when they will be protagonists on the Reggio Emilia scene. \nSpectators who had already purchased tickets for the live performances at Palazzo da Mosto will be contacted directly by Vivaticket for a refund.\n \nSix of the thirteen MicroDances will be performed for the last time in Italy\, in Reggio Emilia\, in an innovative and original context: the contemporary art exhibition ORIZZONTI DEL CORPO Art / Dance / Virtual Reality\, produced by Palazzo Magnani Foundation and curated by Marina Dacci\, in the historical Palazzo da Mosto. DESCRIPTION:Due to several cases of dancers testing positive for Covid\, the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza and the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani are forced to cancel the event.\n\nHowever\, the visiting hours for the exhibition have been extended\, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays.\nThe appointment with the MicroDances – recent winners of the prestigious “Danza & Danza 2021” Award for original project\, multimediality and internationality – is only postponed to next summer\, when they will be protagonists on the Reggio Emilia scene. \nSpectators who had already purchased tickets for the live performances at Palazzo da Mosto will be contacted directly by Vivaticket for a refund.\n \nSix of the thirteen MicroDances will be performed for the last time in Italy\, in Reggio Emilia\, in an innovative and original context: the contemporary art exhibition ORIZZONTI DEL CORPO Art / Dance / Virtual Reality\, produced by Palazzo Magnani Foundation and curated by Marina Dacci\, in the historical Palazzo da Mosto. DESCRIPTION:At the Opéra de Massy\, on 31 March and 1 April\, Aterballetto dances Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n
