They constitute only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the evening\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on the music of Nick Cave\, Another story is a duet on the impossible gesture of 2020\, the embrace. Between past and future are Kratz’s two creations. The “O” duo offers us two bodies/robots\, forcing us to question how the meaning of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and felt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a six-step in the evening’s conclusion\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication between people who feel on the same plane. It too is challenged by the present times. \n

DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto starts its 2023/24 season by opening the prestigious festival Le temps d’aimer la danse in Biarritz. \nOn stage YELED and SHOOT ME\, by the two young choreographers Eyal Dadon and Diego Tortelli. \nYELED\, a Hebrew word meaning “child\,” brings to the stage Israeli choreographer Eyal Dadon’s reflection\, together with Aterballetto dancers\, on the moment in life when we come to lose the innocence of children.\nSHOOT ME\, by our resident choreographer Diego Tortelli\, on the other hand\, is a frontal work that aims to put the dancers on stage and the audience in the stalls in a direct exchange relationship: a game of seduction\, of glances\, of sweat\, an assault on the senses and an ode to the body\, to breathing the same air\, sweat\, tears\, fury\, pride. \n  \n\n

SUMMARY:DON JUAN
DESCRIPTION:At the Arena Sferisterio in Macerata Aterballetto dances Don Juan\, the full evening signed by Johan Inger. \nFor the Macerata Opera Festival the company will dance with the live music played by FORM-Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana and directed by the baton of  Manuel Coves. \nThe choreography stems from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, an ancient and still contemporary paradigmatic myth. The original play by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl were able to consult twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters in the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasize nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, and subtly but clearly reveals the inner worlds of the men and women on stage. \nDanza&Danza ‘Best Production’ Award 2020

The original play by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl were able to consult twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters in the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto performs Storie in Pesaro. \nStorie is a small anthology of danced fragments. They constitute only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the evening\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on the music of Nick Cave\, Another story is a duet on the impossible gesture of 2020\, the embrace. Between past and future are Kratz’s two creations. The “O” duo offers us two bodies/robots\, forcing us to question how the meaning of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and felt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a six-step in the evening’s conclusion\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication between people who feel on the same plane. It too is challenged by the present times. \n

DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto dances Storie at its own Fonderia. \n\nStorie is a small anthology of danced fragments. They are only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the bill\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on Nick Cave music\, Another story is a duo about the impossible gesture of 2020\, the hug. \nBetween past and future the two creations by Kratz. The duo “O” offers us two human bodies / robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and heartfelt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a creation for six dancers at the end of the bill\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication among people who feel on the same level. It too is severely stretched by the present times. \n  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto dances Double Side in Baden\, Switzerland. \nBaroque music and contemporary dance are combined in the new programme of the Italian Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, which features two choreographers from Canada and Cuba who are little known in Italy\, Danièle Desnoyers and Norge Cedeño Raffo. In close collaboration with the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini from Parma\, its orchestral counterpart from Emilia-Romagna Region\, the renowned company brings along a musical ensemble of singers and string players\, dancing to a baroque suite and a “Stabat Mater” by Arvo Pärt. \n \nSynopsis \nThe Cuban Norge Cedeño Raffo creates to religious music\, of all things. The young\, up-and-coming choreographer was a soloist with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba\, the most important contemporary company in Cuba. Arvo Pärt’s “Stabat Mater” becomes a painful farewell work for him. The Estonian composer set the medieval text about the pain of the Mother of God to music in his characteristic\, reduced style. The moving effect of this music also characterises the expressive\, free and\, in the most beautiful sense\, pure dance: how can one find hope again in a destroyed world and after such a great loss\, how can one go on living\, Norge Cedeño Raffo asks himself in his work. \n\nChoreographer Danièle Desnoyers comes from Montréal\, the metropolis of modern Canadian dance\, where her light\, fluid style and her own company make her a permanent fixture on the contemporary scene. In addition to a theatrical element\, her pieces always have a strong relationship to music.
