SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto performs in Modena Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n

SUMMARY:MicroDanze - Reenactment
DESCRIPTION:In the framework of the Creative Europe An Ideal City project\, on 21 and 22 May the MicroDances will restart their tour from where they left off\, at their partner Les Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels\, before continuing to Reggio Emilia (10-12 June) and Athens (17 June). \nSome of the MicroDances are at the center of a process of reenactment: a transposition of the original versions for young dancers and public spaces aimed at the creation of an urban version that can interpret the spirit and characteristics of the three cities involved. \nIn Brussels the 8 MicroDances re-enacted are surrounded in the urban landscape of the Tour & Taxis area. The performances are on 21 and 22 May (h 14.00-15.30-17.00). \nDiscover more about the reenactment here. \nMicroDances & Urban Mutations \nIn Brussels\, MicroDances are rooted in an urban landscape that beats at two different rhythms. \nTachycardique in Tour & Taxis\, a trade centre and former industrial freight station located along the canal.\nBiorythmique in the Coulée verte\, a green trail grounded in the living beings and the knowledge buried beneath the metropolis. \nFor two decades\, the land\, which was abandoned at the end of the twentieth century\, has been fuelling the imaginations of town planners\, artists\, architects\, circus performers\, promoters\, gardeners\, and developers.\nA massive urban project will be completed in 2022. The land has the appearance of wrinkled skin. The soil is worn out. Neighbours\, runners\, children\, cyclists\, and pets and their owners are crossing public\, semi-public\, private\, common\, and liminal zones. \nWho are we? A melting pot of Brussels citizens experimenting with body-landscape interactions. Among us\, eight dancers were chosen by Les Halles for their multidisciplinary and outdoor skills. After participating in a European workshop\, they will perform six MicroDances shaped by Italian and Greek choreographers during the Covid crisis. \nEach MicroDance is a microworld\, a dialogue with the open space. A sort of acupuncture in which each point calls for a shared story told by watchmen who weave connections between the spirits of the location\, passers-by\, and the present moment. \nWith their disquieting beauty\, the MicroDances’ journeys from the underground to the surface are an essential part of the vital art of healing our connections to places. \nPauline de La Boulaye \nAn Ideal City curator\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n \nPannenhuis subway station\n\nLet’s explore what’s under our feet\, under Pannenhuis\, Pan’s home… There is no distinction between the living and the dead in the proto city: two spirits open the route.\nMicroDance: Eppur si muove by Francesca Lattuada\n\nPerformers: Carolina Morais Fonseca & Arti Servaes\nStreet workout park\n\nUnder the next bridge\, facing a street workout park\, one singer and one dancer embody the pain of performing: should you prioritise art before life or put art at the service of life?\nMicroDance: Phantasmagoria by Markella Manoliadi\nPerformer: Sally Demonte\nSinger: Katrishania Renata\nParckfarm greenhouse\n\nAt Parckfarm greenhouse\, we grow the land\, the connections\, and the creativity to restore the resources of the uprooted metropolis. There\, a woman is looking for a place to call home. But she is losing herself when her head invades her body.\nMicroDance: Pensieri di Carta by Hélias Tur-Dorvault\nPerformer: Eliza Pais Sogos\nUnder the skyline\n\nAfter the last bridge\, under the skyline of the towering skyscrapers of Brussels’ little Manhattan\, a proto-architect dances with wood\, in search of Human scale\, like a Vitruvian man.\nMicroDance: Forget me not by Konstantinos Rigos\nPerformer: Noémie Boes\nMusician: Karen van Schaik\nCurved tunnel\n\nAt the entrance of a tunnel\, along a curved timeline\, an extraordinary creature recreates the first motion: drawing a line\, locating their skeleton\, their hand\, and their eye before engaging with the world.\nMicroDance: Active motivation by Elena Kekkou\nPerformer: Agathe Tarillon\nGare Maritime\n\nAt the maritime station\, a temple of commercial reconversion and food concepts\,\ntwo characters emerge from an above-ground café to exorcise plastic\, a polluter of bodies that have become objects.\nMicroDance: Turn the Tide by Roberto Tedesco\nPerformers: Margaux Lissandre & Salima Brahimi\nThe Land relic\n\nAt the exit\, let’s meditate in front of the scraps of land that were stripped from the ground before development began. The majesty of simple things.\n\n \nInfo \nurban dramaturgy Pauline de La Boulaye\ncostumes Khadija Karam \npartnership in Brussels\nla cocof\, Bruxelles environnement\, Molenbeek 1080\, Tour & Taxis\, Parckfarm \nMay 21 & May 22\n14h / 15h30 / 17h \nMore Info

SUMMARY:IN/FINITO
DESCRIPTION:Following an invitation by the Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis\, the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto is back to dance in the Tunisian capital after eighteen years since its last performance\, dating back to 2004. On Thursday 26 May\, Tunis will host the final stop of In/Finito\, a dance and photography project for urban\, natural or historical spaces\, born in Reggio Emilia in 2018 from an idea of FND director Gigi Cristoforetti\, in collaboration with Fotografia Europea and in partnership with Fondazione Palazzo Magnani. \nAfter Reggio Emilia\, Capri\, Bologna\, Milan\, Athens and Paris\, Tunis will represent the artistic conclusion of the In/Finito project.
