SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:In occasion of the last stop of the French tour in Fréjus\, in Provence\, Aterballetto dances Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \nDanza&Danza Award ‘Best Production’ 2020 \n

SUMMARY:È pericoloso non sporgersi
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, Dec. 7\, 6 p.m. at Chiostri San Pietro in Reggio Emilia we present  È pericoloso non sporgersi\, a surprising new production only available with virtual reality visors. \nChoreography and direction are by Francesca Lattuada\, a visionary artist active in France\, who starts from the historical memory of some rooms of the Museo di storia della psichiatria\, and leans on the ability of the extraordinary contortionist Lise Pauton to force\, almost distort\, the perception of reality. Her metamorphoses will be incessant\, leading to the blurring of ordinary temporality\, the loss of the most concrete notions of spatiality (high-low\, big-small\, visible-invisible…). \nThe viewer will thus experience an immersion in a world in which all habitual references have vanished. A bit like what could happen to the guests of the Lombroso Pavilion. \nFND-Aterballetto – è pericoloso non sporgersi – ph. Maria Letizia Piantoni (12) \n  \nThe work is created on the occasion of the billboard Identità inquieta\, a great choral work of the city of Reggio Emilia involving institutions and organizations of social\, educational and cultural life\, with the intention of offering a rich and varied calendar of cultural events to show visions on the infinite nuances of identity. \nÈ pericoloso non sporgersi is within the Virtual Dance for Real People project. \nCredits \nDirection and choreography: <strong>Francesca Lattuada</strong>\nMusic: <strong>traditional corean music</strong>; <strong><em>“Lascia la spina\, cogli la rosa”</em> </strong>di <strong>Georg Friedrich Händel</strong>\, performed by <strong>Francesca Lattuada</strong>\nCostumes: <strong>Francesca Lattuada</strong>\nPerformer: <strong>Lise Pauton</strong> \nProduction: <strong>Fondazione Nazionale della Danza /Aterballetto</strong>\nCoproduction: <strong>Fondazione Palazzo Magnani</strong>\nTechnological development and user experience design by Giulia Losi\, Annalisa Mombelli (RE:LAB)\nVideo production & editing by Guido Acampa (Riot Studio) \nPremiere: <strong>7 december 2022\, Chiostri di San Pietro\, Reggio Emilia</strong> \nPartnership <strong>Comune di Reggio Emilia / Musei Civici</strong> \n<img class=”alignnone wp-image-17406″ src=”https://www.fndaterballetto.it/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/logo_Comune_MuseiRE.jpg” alt=”” width=”130″ height=”130″ /> \n<em>Initiative realized at Chiostri di San Pietro as part of the <strong>Rete dei Laboratori Aperti of Emilia-Romagna\, co-financed by European Funds – Por Fesr 2014-2020</strong></em> \n<img class=”alignnone wp-image-17408″ src=”https://www.fndaterballetto.it/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/laboratorio-aperto.jpg” alt=”” width=”440″ height=”99″ /> \nPerfomance inside the program ‘Identità Inquieta’ \n<img class=”alignnone wp-image-17410 size-full” src=”https://www.fndaterballetto.it/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/identità-inquieta.png” alt=”” width=”147″ height=”147″ /> \nImagery \nBorn X.                                                                                          She lives near Reggio Emilia\, presumably in a cave.          She feeds on berries and plants. \nAt 29\, accused of stealing chickens\, she spent 33 days in the Lombroso Pavilion. \nThe testimonies of nurses\, patients and doctors describe a discreet\, sweet and silent woman. \nAdalgisa claims to be inhabited by four entities: \n— The Winged man\, age 35.                                                        — The Infant\, age 7.\n— The Age-less Phantom                                                                — An invisible entity that sometimes calls the Beast and sometimes the Light\, who heals her and whom she heals. \nThe transformations raise amazement and fright; Adalgisa’s body\, habitually rigid\, becomes disconcertingly flexible. \nWhen and where to see the work \n<h3><span style=”color: #d40000;”><strong>Prima presentazione</strong></span></h3>\nDecember 7\, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. \nChiostri di San Pietro\, via Emilia a San Pietro 44/c\, Reggio Emilia \nFree entry \n<hr /> \nAfter Dec. 7\, the installation can be enjoyed within the guided tour of Chiostri di San Pietro in the manner and on the days and times indicated on the website: <a href=”https://www.chiostrisanpietro.it/visita/servizi/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener noreferrer”>https://www.chiostrisanpietro.it/visita/servizi/</a>

SUMMARY:Double Side
DESCRIPTION:Ludwigshafen is the German premiere for Double Side. \nBaroque music and contemporary dance are combined in the new programme of the Italian Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, which features two choreographers from Canada and Cuba who are little known in Italy\, Danièle Desnoyers and Norge Cedeño Raffo. In close collaboration with the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini from Parma\, its orchestral counterpart from Emilia-Romagna Region\, the renowned company brings along a musical ensemble of singers and string players\, dancing to a baroque suite and a “Stabat Mater” by Arvo Pärt. \n \nSynopsis \nThe Cuban Norge Cedeño Raffo creates to religious music\, of all things. The young\, up-and-coming choreographer was a soloist with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba\, the most important contemporary company in Cuba. Arvo Pärt’s “Stabat Mater” becomes a painful farewell work for him. The Estonian composer set the medieval text about the pain of the Mother of God to music in his characteristic\, reduced style. The moving effect of this music also characterises the expressive\, free and\, in the most beautiful sense\, pure dance: how can one find hope again in a destroyed world and after such a great loss\, how can one go on living\, Norge Cedeño Raffo asks himself in his work. \n\nChoreographer Danièle Desnoyers comes from Montréal\, the metropolis of modern Canadian dance\, where her light\, fluid style and her own company make her a permanent fixture on the contemporary scene. In addition to a theatrical element\, her pieces always have a strong relationship to music. Her creation for Aterballetto is based on a suite by the Italian composer Federico Gon; the specialist for baroque music was inspired by Henry Purcell. \n  \n \n  \nCredits \nSTABAT MATER\n(Creation for 3 dancers\, 3 musicians\, 3 singers) \nChoreography Norge Cedeño Raffo\nSet and lighting design Fabiana Piccioli\nMusic Stabat Mater by Arvo Pärt\nCostume design Norge Cedeño Raffo and Fabiana Piccioli\nAssistant to the choreographer Thais Suàrez Fernàndez \nWITH DROOPING WINGS\n(Creation for 8 dancers\, 4 strings) \nChoreography Danièle Desnoyers\nMusic An English Suite by Federico Gon after Henry Purcell\nSet and lighting design Fabiana Piccioli\nCostume design Danièle Desnoyers\nWith the support of Délégation du Québec à Rome and Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec \n \n\nCo-design and co-production Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione Arturo Toscanini\nCo-production Festspiele Ludwigshafen\, Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia \nWorld-premiere 23 October 2022\, Reggio Emilia\, Festival Aperto\, Teatro Municipale Romolo Valli (I)\nGerman premiere 9-10 December 2022\, Ludwigshafen\, Theater Im Pfalzbau (D) \n\nDancers Aterballetto Company\nQuartetto Motus for La Toscanini: Giulia Soli\, Agnese Rava violin\, Dario Carrera viola\, Margherita Curti cello\nSoprano: Theodora Io Koutsothodoru\nCountertenor: Nicolò Balducci\nTenor: Kim Bowoo\nMusical coaching: Antonio De Lorenzi \nDocufilm Stabat Mater - Danzare oltre i confini\nNorge Cedeño Raffo’s creation Stabat Mater inspired Rai5 to make the docufilm Stabat Mater – Danzare oltre i confini (Dancing Beyond Borders). \nThe docufilm closely reports the artistic and human experience of the young talented choreographer\, for the first time in Italy\, and shows his creative process\, in the setting of the Teatro Asioli in Correggio\, a small Italian-style theatre immersed in the Po Valley\, one of the most fascinating and evocative. \nThe filming of the docufilm (directed by Alessandro D’Onghia) began on 29 January 2021 (the choreographer’s first day of work with the three dancers) and ended on 6 March 2021 (the day of the closed-door preview at the Teatro Asioli in Correggio\, with musicians and singers from the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Achille Peri in Reggio Emilia). SUMMARY:Shoot me - "O" - Secus
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto is in Bolzano with a triptych that highlights the eclecticism of its performers. \nThe evening opens with Shoot me\, a new creation by Diego Tortelli on the music of the rock group Spiritualized\, an abstract but tautly energetic choreography. This is followed by  “O”\, Philippe Kratz’s little masterpiece\, an hypnotic pas de deux with an unstoppable rhythm. All 16 dancers of the company close the evening with the visceral Secus\, a creation by Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin with an enthralling soundtrack. \n\n  \n\n  \n\n  \nSHOOT ME \nSHOOT ME is a new creation for the whole company accompanied by the music of Spiritualized\, an English rock band formed in 1990\, and some recordings of poems recited by singer Jim Morrison that tell us about freedom. \nThe work in its construction is inspired by the concept of “concert-ballet” revisited in a contemporary key where music and dance accompany each other in a composition devoid of narrative\, but which thanks to the power of music\, sometimes aggressive and other times poetic guides us to create open imagery and to feel emotions. \nA fundamental part of SHOOT ME is the strength of a group guided by individual voices\, the desire of a body that wants to be observed and a body that wants to be heard\, that wants to transmit. \nThe work is inspired by images of demonstrations\, pride\, catwalks\, everything that unites us in a group that at the same time allows us not to lose our voice. The exact opposite of a military parade or a political party. We talk about the beauty of the body serving the community as a means of entertainment\, but also of reflection and research.\nIn fact\, the term “SHOOT ME” is used by videomakers at the moment when a camera’s gaze is caught on an action to be immortalized. Instead in pop culture the term “SHOOT ME” in slang is also often referred to as the request to feel emotions after a period of alexithymia “please\, shoot me with some feelings…” \nA frontal work that aims to put the dancers on stage and the audience in the audience in a direct exchange relationship: a game of seduction\, of glances\, of sweat\, an assault on the senses and an ode to the body\, to breathing the same air\, sweat\, tears\, fury\, pride. \nO \nThe idea behind “O” is eternity and how to achieve it is the ultimate goal of humanity. As for example in the summer of 2017 in Hong Kong\, when for the first time two humanoid robots interacted with each other. It has become clear to all that a future\, in which all human knowledge is transmitted by communicating inorganic material\, is at hand. \n“O” can be seen as two human beings or two robots celebrating this event in a state of transcendence and emotional realization\, in which both move together to the infinite rhythm of their unstoppable hearts.\nOr\, like the spaceship computer Hal in Stanley Kubrick’s film “2001: A Space Odyssey” when he says deceptively\, “I know I have made some very poor decisions recently\, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will return to normal. I still have the utmost enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.” \nSECUS \nSecus is a creation by Ohad Naharin that boasts a musical collage stretching from the unusual electronic styles of AGF to the seductive Indian melodies of Kaho Naa Pyar Hai to the resonant harmonies of the Beach Boys. This adventurously eclectic mix serves as a fitting backdrop for the boldly extravagant choreography. A human alphabet of runs\, solos\, neat and clean gestures\, interrupted duets is composed before our incredulous eyes\, which\, through precise and sudden kicks\, sinuous disarticulations of the hips\, torsos bending in all directions like molding rubber\, expresses pure emotions and feelings without becoming sentimental. Joy\, vulnerability\, fear\, innocence\, confusion and anger weave a harmonious and dynamic canvas that oscillates between delicacy and exaggeration. \nCREDITS \nSHOOT ME \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Spiritualized\nCostumes Marco De Vincenzo\nLights Roman Fliegel \nDuration 30′ – For the 16 dancers of the company \nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\nCoproduction Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia \n“O” \nChoreography Philippe Kratz\nMusic Mark Pritchard and The Field\nCostumes Francesca Messori\nLights Carlo Cerri \nDuration 12′ – For 2 dancers \nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nFirst prize at the 32nd Hannover Choreographic Competition – June 2018 \nPhilippe Kratz is a stARTacademy member of Bayer Arts & Culture. \nSECUS \nChoreography Ohad Naharin\nMusic Chari Chari\, Kid 606 + Rayon (mix: Stefan Ferry)\, AGF\, Chronomad (Wahed)\, Fennesz\, Kaho Naa Pyar Hai\, Seefeel\, The Beach Boys\nSound design & editing Ohad Fishof\nCostumes Rakefet Levy\nLights Avi Yona Bueno (Bambi)\nAssistant choreographers Rachael Osborne\, Ian Robinson\nCreation for Batsheva Dance Company (as part of Three\, 2005) \nDuration 30′ – For the 16 dancers of the company \nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nCo-production Festival Oriente Occidente (I)\, Les Halles de Schaerbeek (B)\, Malraux scène nationale Chambéry Savoie (F) \nPhilippe Kratz’s cloud|materia is supported by Bayer Culture Engagement (D)

SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:At Teatro delle Muse in Ancona Aterballetto dances Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger.
