DESCRIPTION:At the Teatro Sociale in Brescia\, Aterballetto performs Dreamers\, an evening featuring choreographies by Tortelli\, Kratz\, Preljocaj\, and Pite.\nA single evening unites the signature of Crystal Pite—the most sought-after choreographer across Europe and North America—with those of Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz\, two of the most exciting and acclaimed under-40 creators on the international scene. Completing the program is a duet by Angelin Preljocaj\, a choreographer long considered among the greats of contemporary dance. \nDreamers opens with Preludio by Diego Tortelli from Brescia\, a love letter to the body for five dancers\, built around some of the most intense poems and songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, whose unmistakable voice envelops the audience. \nAt the heart of the evening is O by Philippe Kratz\, former leading dancer of Aterballetto and now a choreographer in demand by major theatres worldwide. In a state of emotional transcendence\, we witness the encounter between human and robot—two entities moving together to the endless rhythm of their unstoppable hearts. \nThis is followed by Reconciliatio by Angelin Preljocaj\, a duet set to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata that explores reconciliation through a poetic and impressionistic lens\, inspired by a devoted yet non-literal reading of the Apocalypse. \nThe evening closes with the soft snowstorm of Solo Echo by Crystal Pite\, inspired by two sonatas for cello and piano by Johannes Brahms and the profound verses of Mark Strand. On stage\, one breathes the winter of the soul: time slows down\, and the body becomes a vessel for moving and powerful introspection.
