SUMMARY:MADE IN ITALY 26.0
DESCRIPTION: \nThe protagonists are the dancers of the Agora Coaching Project\, an advanced dance training project promoted and supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. Started in 2010\, the course is now gaining full recognition in the world of European dance and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \nOn stage Made in Italy 26.0 with choreographies by Giuseppe Spota\, Paolo Mohovich and Michele Merola. \nDancers: Camilla Aiazzi\, Erica Barusco\, Silvia Bellot Romanet\, Agnese Biavati\, Veronica Biondini\, Marek Brafa\, Margherita Cardinalini\, Greta Cecconi\, Filippo Cosso\, Sally Demonte\, Pietro Di Salvo\, Annachiara Gallo\, Sofia Lacava\, Carlotta Lo Piano\, Giorgia Mantovan\, Letizia Melchiorre\, Lorenzo Molinaro\, Marta Monaci\, Martina Pagliari\, Alessio Saccheri\, Rossana Samele\, Viviana Sanfilippo\, Diletta Torelli \n  \nCHOREOGRAPHIES \nSNAPES\nChoreography GIUSEPPE SPOTA\nMusic ATMO music production\nCostume designed by GIUSEPPE SPOTA and made by NUVIA VALESTRI \nWe lose ourselves in a flood of futility\, only to experience moments of true beauty\, lucidity and fragility. In a constant non-listening\, we react to the domino effect triggered by our elected leaders of the moment\, only to find ourselves empty and fragile. \nPICCOLI RITI NOTTURNI\nChoreography PAOLO MOHOVICH\nMusic MUCHAEL KIWANUKA \nThe first walk in a dark wood. The first moonlight swim. The first party\, the first encounters and disencounters (loving or not) … to be a little older the next day…\nNighttime rituals that with hindsight appear small\, but how can we forget the emotion that made them appear immense? \nExcerpts from BOLERO\nChoreography MICHELE MEROLA\nMusic MAURICE RAVEL / STEFANO CORRIAS\nCostume design NUVIA VALESTRI\nAssistant to the choreographer PAOLO LAURI \nA clockwork mechanism of rigorous precision\, Bolero (1928) is still one of the best known and most listened to pieces in the history of music. On stage is a choreographic version of Bolero created by Merola for Agora Coaching Project\, inspired by the one created for MMContemporary Dance Company. The choreographer confronted this obsessive and repetitive music\, trying to understand its identity\, reason and function\, to arrive at his interpretation: at the end of this path the inspiration focused on the inexhaustible range of human relationships. In the choreography\, fears\, repressed desires\, existential shocks that reveal entire universes\, secret ties that exist between people are projected from the inside out\, and irony gives way to fear\, love to disenchantment\, detachment to sharing\, and so on\, between crescendo and diminuendo\, like the music of the Bolero.\nStefano Corrias spoke on this same music\, with the licence and inventiveness that are the true mark of every artist. As a refined and experienced composer\, aware of the demands of the stage\, Corrias created his own musical score\, freely inspired by the original version of Ravel’s piece. The new score was composed by carefully analysing the pages of Bolero\, and integrates perfectly with it. \n  \n \nAGORA COACHING PROJECT \nAGORA COACHING PROJECT is an annual project of improvement in dance for dancers aged between 18 and 22 years\, which is based in Reggio Emilia.\nBorn in 2010\, the course is directed by Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli\, and is promoted and supported by MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D. SUMMARY:DIVINO_PRIMA APPARIZIONE
DESCRIPTION:COMPAGNIA NATISCALZI DT\nFor choreographers Tommaso Monza and Claudia Rossi Valli\, the word ‘divine’ is not synonymous with ‘religious’. The project questions where the sense of the divine resides in everyday urban life and wants to do so by confronting itself with the generation of rappers and trappers under 25\, who will be the backbone of the project. SUMMARY:GERSHWIN SUITE | SCHUBERT FRAMES
DESCRIPTION:MM CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY\nAn evening dedicated to music is the one proposed by the company directed by Michele Merola. On the notes of famous pieces\, but also on more intimate and seductive music by the American composer\, Merola looks to the 20th century and the atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties\, drawing inspiration from the dynamic compositions of George Gershwin and the realistic and almost ‘cinematographic’ painting of Edward Hopper. Schubert frames is a work full of poetic images by Enrico Morelli\, who lets himself be enveloped by the delicate and moving music of Franz Schubert. \nThe performance is within the summer festival DANZA AI CHIOSTRI curated by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia. \n          \n\n\nGERSHWIN SUITE \nChoreography: Michele Merola\nMusic: George Gershwin\, Stefano Corrias\nLighting and set design: Cristina Spelti\nSet design: Alice De Lorenzi\nCostumes: Carlotta Montanari\nMusic adaptation and recomposing: Stefano Corrias\nChoreography assistant: Paolo Lauri\nPerformers: Emiliana Campo\, Dylan Di Nola\, Mario Genovese\, Matilde Gherardi\, Fabiana Lonardo\, Annalisa Perricone\, Alice Ruspaggiari\, Nicola Stasi\, Giuseppe Villarosa \nDuration: 40 min. \nPremiere: 8 February 2018\, Teatro Ristori\, Verona \nThe notes of George Gershwin (1898-1937)\, one of the most representative musicians of the 20th century\, reflect the spirit of the time in which they were created\, with the moods and atmospheres of the Roaring Twenties. Starting with the composer’s best pieces and suggestions from the pictorial works of another great 20th century American artist\, Edward Hopper (1882-1967)\, Michele Merola has created Gershwin Suite\, whose soundtrack anthologises the author’s most captivating pages\, such as\, among others\, Summertime\, which seals the show and recurs in several moments and in different versions\, and Rhapsody in Blue. But it is not only the lush and lively music that attracts the choreographer: Merola chooses Gershwin’s music in its various facets\, not only the more euphoric and brilliant pieces\, but also the more romantic and intimate\, sensual and seductive ones. A new composition by Stefano Corrias welds it all together\, a musical carpet that gives unity to the rich mosaic of scents\, now overflowing with dynamism\, now fully lyrical\, suspended in rethinking and thickened in melancholy. Another authorial contribution to the realisation of the show was made by Cristina Spelti\, who designed the lighting and set design\, and co-wrote the concept with Merola. \n \nSome scenes are therefore inspired by the connection between the composer’s various pieces and various paintings – such as New York Movie\, Soir Bleu\, Summer in the City\, People in the sun – by Edward Hopper\, a painter who\, thanks to his realism and his modus operandi of ‘framing’\, is considered an artist very close to the world of photography and cinema\, capable of poetically and evocatively depicting even humble and simple moments of everyday life. \n“I was attracted” – says the choreographer – “by the painter’s ability to construct atmospheres and nuances that outline the implications and secrets of the human condition. The direction of the danced images and the staging of the scenes create characters and situations that are not determined once and for all\, but open to different endings and solutions”. \nDirectly inspired by Hopper’s paintings\, the intimacy of the pas de deux and solos are paraded\, complemented by ensemble scenes\, where the will to live and redemption from everyday life take over. On stage\, so much variety takes on the guise of a film set\, thanks to a set design that changes constantly\, just like a set\, and a choreography that touches several keys\, thanks to the versatility of the choreographer\, who is able to apply his creativity and talent in step with contemporary times. \nSCHUBERT FRAMES \n\n\nChoreography: Enrico Morelli\nMusic: Franz Schubert\nLighting design: Cristina Spelti\nCostumes: Carlotta Montanari\nPerformers: Emiliana Campo\, Dylan Di Nola\, Mario Genovese\, Matilde Gherardi\, Fabiana Lonardo\, Annalisa Perricone\, Alice Ruspaggiari\, Nicola Stasi\, Giuseppe Villarosa \nEnrico Morelli wanted to entrust his new work to the extraordinary music of Franz Schubert: no one better than the Viennese composer was able to interpret the conflicting feelings of love\, tension\, melancholy\, regret\, but also hope.\nA collage of Schubert’s celebrated pieces\, extracts from real masterpieces of infinite beauty – composed two centuries ago\, they still amaze today for their great topicality – serve as the soundtrack to this work dedicated to the many souls of contemporary man\, where love gives way to disenchantment\, detachment to sharing\, passion to fear\, and vice versa\, in a coming and going between crescendo and diminuendo\, revealing entire universes and secret bonds. \n \nThe choreography has no pretence or descriptive ambition: it is an abstract tale of loneliness and kindred souls\, in an era such as ours\, tired\, turbid\, disenchanted\, tormented by a malaise that hangs in the air\, but also anxiously searching for meaning and hope for happiness. It is a story in which we focus above all on the moment of return\, because happiness is a home to return to\, perhaps changed\, heedless of the accelerated speed of a present that frightens us and a future that we may be afraid to explore. The problem is not to arrive\, but to return. Learning each time to love\, again. Having the courage to recognise ourselves as fragile\, and therefore generous in tenderness. \n\n\nMM CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY \nThe MM Contemporary Dance Company is a contemporary dance company directed by choreographer Michele Merola. It was established in 1999 as a centre for the production of events and performances and as a promoter of festivals and workshops with the aim of fostering exchanges and alliances between Italian and international artists\, witnesses and spokesmen of contemporary culture.\nThe repertoire of the company\, based in Reggio Emilia\, is rich and varied\, thanks to works by Michele Merola and creations by European and Italian choreographers such as Mats Ek\, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano\, Karl Alfred Schreiner\, Emanuele Soavi\, and Enrico Morelli. \nIn 2010\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the prestigious Danza&Danza Award as best emerging company and today\, it is\, to all intents and purposes\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of performances throughout the country. For some years now\, it has conquered an international market with performances in European and non-European countries (Korea\, Colombia\, Canada\, Germany\, Russia\, Morocco…).\nIn 2017\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the 2017 Europaindanza Prize – Prize for Merit in Choreography\, for the show Bolero by Michele Merola.\nFor the three-year period 2018-20\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company is an associated company of the Trentino Alto Adige InDanza Circuit. \nMMCDC is supported by the Ministry of Culture\, Emilia-Romagna Region\, National Dance Foundation/Aterballetto\, Teatro Asioli in Correggio\, ASD Progetto Danza. Technical partner: Pro Music. \nINFO & TICKETS \nThe performance takes place at the Chiostro Grande of the Chiostri di San Pietro complex. \nTICKETS\nSingle seat 10 €. \nThe performances at the Chiostro Piccolo at h 19.30 entitle you to a reduction on the tickets for the performances of the review DANZA AI CHIOSTRI at the Chiostro grande: reduced ticket at € 8 instead of € 10 \nINFO & TICKET RESERVATION\ninfo@aterballetto.it / 0522 273016 / 334 1023554 (Whatsapp) \nTICKET PURCHASE\nOnline www.biglietteriafonderia39.it\nAt the Chiostri San Pietro: from one hour before the start of the performance

SUMMARY:Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda
DESCRIPTION:A contemporary staging for one of the most celebrated Baroque masterpieces by Claudio Monteverdi. A 17th-century madrigal in performance form inspired by the text La Gerusalemme liberata by Torquato Tasso. On stage the baroque mezzo-soprano Chiara Osella narrates the epic tale from the sad epilogue of the two young warrior lovers Tancredi and Clorinda\, physically interpreted by the two German performers Lisa Hofmann and Luzi Madrid Villaneuva (twobetween). \nA project born from an idea of Maestro Marcello Panni and from the collaboration with ‘Bologna Festival’\, ‘Ferrara Musica’ and ‘IUC-Università La sapienza’ in Rome\, featuring the choreographic creation by Carlo Massari. \nThe performance is within the summer festival DANZA AI CHIOSTRI curated by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia. \n          \n \nCREDITS \nOriginal creation: Carlo Massari\nPerformers: Lisa Hofmann and Luzi Madrid Villaneuva\nSung voice: Chiara Osella (mezzo-soprano)\nChoreographic collaboration: Emanuele Rosa\nTexts by Torquato Tasso\nOriginal composition: Claudio Monteverdi\nTranscription: Luciano Berio\nMusical Consultancy: M°Marcello Panni\nProduction: C&C Company \nFirst performance 2021 Bologna Festival – Ferrara Musica – IUC \nDuration: 30′ \nC&C COMPANY \nA project for the creation and development of an artistic language directed towards a physical and dramaturgical investigation\, in close relation with contemporary social issues\, it is characterised by constant research free of superstructures\, and is interested in the depth of interpersonal relationships\, with the aim of bringing ‘truth’ to the stage through a profoundly physical language that allows the spectator to feel represented in its universality. Founded in 2011\, the Company denotes a strong vocation for cross-over and hybridity in the use of dance in relation to other contemporary performance codes\, consolidating to date as an “amphibious” creative identity.\nAmong the numerous productions\, the most recent are Beast without Beauty\, Les Miserables and A peso morto\, which boast international recognition and touring. There are recurring creations that involve communities\, in a dialogue that enhances the artistic project: a search for relational truth combined with a total imaginative openness capable of bringing the audience closer to the theatrical experience. SUMMARY:HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
DESCRIPTION:The Greek National Opera Ballet presents a modern dance triptych composed of Point of No Return by Ioannis Mandafounis\, Lieder ohne Worte by Konstantinos Rigos\, director of the ensemble\, and Plan B by Ermira Goro. The choreographies move between classical and modern styles\, giving the dancers the opportunity to experiment with new dance forms\, accompanied by the music of Giorgos Koumendakis\, Dimitri Terzakis and Dimitra Trypani. \n \nLead Donor of the Greek National Opera \n \nAegean Airlines\nOfficial Air Carrier \n \n  \nThe performance is within the summer festival DANZA AI CHIOSTRI curated by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia. \n          \nPOINT OF NO RETURN \nChoreographer\, costume supervisor: Ioannis Mandafounis\nMusic: Giorgos Koumendakis\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas \nHuman Behaviour_Point of No Return_Photo Andreas Simopoulos \nIn Point of No Return\, the internationally recognised dancer and choreographer Ioannis Mandafounis composes a modern piece out of dance elements deeply rooted in the tradition of classical ballet. In tune with the music of Giorgos Koumendakis\, the GNO Ballet dancers focus on the transparency and authenticity of their moves via the arsenal of classical ballet steps. Although the group experience of their bodies reveals an extremely classical choreographical approach\, one may discern the personal identity of the performers as well as a particularly modern treatment of presence and interpretation of movement – obvious elements that indicate the choreographer’s regular touch. \n“Guided by the title Point of No Return\, this dance piece highlights classical technique as performed by a dancer of today\, without falsifying it. Joy\, communication\, complex choreography and performing immediacy are some of the elements presented by the dancers and shared with the public\,” according to Ioannis Mandafounis. Giorgos Koumendakis’ music follows the example of the “anonymous” folksong creators\, “recasting or recomposing traditional musical themes while retaining their energy and subtlety\, the authenticity of their primordial model\, their pulse and their soul.” \nThe choreography Point of No Return is a co-production of the GNO and the CIE Ioannis Mandafounis. The CIE Ioannis Mandafounis benefits from the joint support of the City of Geneva\, the State of Geneva and the Pro Helvetia – Swiss Art Council for the 2018-2023 period. \nLieder ohne Worte \nChoreographer\, set designer: Konstantinos Rigos\nMusic: Dimitri Terzakis\nCostume designer: Yiorgos Mesimeris\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas\nAssociate architect: Mary Tsangari \n \nThe GNO Ballet director Konstantinos Rigos bases his choreography for the second part of this “alternative journey” on three works by the accomplished Greek-German composer Dimitri Terzakis\, inspired by modern Greek history and the legacy of ancient Greece. The delicate Sprüche im Wind consists of ten brief\, succinct “haikus” for violin and piano. The work Der Hölle Nachklang I constitutes the composer’s emotionally charged reaction to his unbearable childhood memories of the German Occupation of Greece during his early childhood in Athens in the years 1941-1944\, while the third piece\, Lieder ohne Worte\, is an apotheosis of melody based on the musical system of antiquity. \nThe composer notes: “To present the infinitesimal melodic nuances and rapidly changing characters\, the interpretation of this composition may and must be endlessly free\, poetic\, song-like\, speech-like and\, yes\, ‘old-fashioned’ – like in the theatre of ancient Greece.” \nPLAN B \nChoreographer: Ermira Goro\nMusic: Dimitra Trypani\nSet & costume designer: Christos Delidimos\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas \n \nErmira Goro\, a movement and dance theatre artist always in search for new forms of researching and communicating her ideas\, says about the choreography of Plan B: \n“Plan B is a choreographic experiment on rigorously structured\, asymmetrical sonic forms. The dancers move through space in a constantly shifting flux from the particular to the abstract and vice-versa. Plan B\, because Plan A proved impossible and Plan C is already taking place.” In tandem\, the composer Dimitra Trypani likens her music to a “sonic impression of an imaginary videogame in a single-level environment which is to be traversed by the player. However\, within this level\, there are many ‘trap-rooms’ in quick\, unexpected succession\, often without warning. The player’s goal\, of course\, is to survive until they exit the last ‘trap-room’ of the game.” \nInfo&Tickets \nThe performance takes place at the Chiostro Grande of the Chiostri di San Pietro complex. \nTICKETS\nSingle seat 10 €. \nThe performances at the Chiostro Piccolo at h 19.30 entitle you to a reduction on the tickets for the performances of the review DANZA AI CHIOSTRI at the Chiostro grande: reduced ticket at € 8 instead of € 10 \nINFO & TICKET RESERVATION\ninfo@aterballetto.it / 0522 273016 / 334 1023554 (Whatsapp) \nTICKET PURCHASE\nOnline www.biglietteriafonderia39.it\nAt the Chiostri San Pietro: from one hour before the start of the performance \n\n

SUMMARY:People - Open Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\n\nOpen rehearsals are unique moments in which it is possible to experience the backstage of a performance\, dialogue with the artists and be surprised by the art of dance. \nPeople is a deep and secret analysis – in a few moments perhaps seraphic – of the contours of human beings\, members of a race that in contemporary society is increasingly exposed to a fictitious contact\, made up of sharing photographic\, of judgments\, of liking\, of following and status\, invented and proportionally more and more limited – often exiled – to a social solitude. \nDacru is a group that ‘transforms’ the language of hip hop dance by combining it through contemporary dance and performing art. The group\, often a guest at international festivals and reviews\, has for some years been one of the realities associated with Naturalis Labor. \nCREDITS \n\nConcept and choreography: Marisa Ragazzo and Omid Ighani\nPerformers: Davide Angelozzi\, Elda Bartolacci\, Alessandro Marconcini\, Graziana Marzìa\, Jenny Mattaioli\, Afshin Varjavandi\nDaCru Dance Company / associate artist\n \nA production Compagnia Naturalis Labor\nSupported by MIC / Regione Veneto / Arco Danza / Comune di Vicenza \nWorld premiere Friederichshafen (D)\, 11 August 2021 \n\nDuration: 50′ \nINSIGHTS \nRoom. SUMMARY:LOVE POEMS - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\n\nOpen rehearsals are unique moments in which one can experience the backstage of a performance\, dialogue with the artists and be surprised by the art of dance. \nUnder the title LOVE POEMS\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company presents an evening composed of three new choreographies all under the sign of contemporary: \n– DUETTO INOFFENSIVO (excerpt from ‘Rossini Cards’) by MAURO BIGONZETTI restaged for MMCDC \n– BRUTAL LOVE POEMS by THOMAS NOONE \n– VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI by MICHELE MEROLA. \nThe three works are performed by eight dancers from MMCDC\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of performances throughout the country.\nThe choreographies of the programme\, linked by the common denominator of a distinctive musicality\, are characterised by a strong implication as much interpretative as technical\, which will highlight the stylistic versatility and extraordinary skill of the company’s dancers. From one piece to the next\, the dance will become one with the music\, marrying its compositional richness thanks to choreographies that emphasise movement\, plasticity\, but also the importance of the single gesture. \n  \n  \nDUETTO INOFFENSIVO \nExcerpt from ‘Rossini Cards \nChoreography: Mauro Bigonzetti\nMusic: Gioachino Rossini\nAssistant to choreography: Roberto Zamorano\nLighting design: Carlo Cerri\nCostumes: Helena De Medeiros\nWith 2 dancers \nA passionate and intense duet by Mauro Bigonzetti: in the two women on stage there is sharing\, understanding\, but also disagreement\, and we find condensed the characters and stories of several female characters. Their encounter\, in a continuous repetition and alternation of complicity and conflict\, gives rise to an exchange of energies\, feelings and emotions linked to the disappointments of love. \n\nBRUTAL LOVE POEMS \nChoreography: Thomas Noone\nMusic: Jim Pinchen\nWith 4 dancers \n“I love you so much that I am in pain. I hope you suffer as much as I do …” \nRaw and dynamic\, Brutal Love Poems explores the ‘wild’ side that we hide within us and that only reveals itself in our most intimate moments. Somehow this revelation\, of our most primordial\, terrible and brutal being\, is perhaps only ever manifested in front of those closest to us\, the person we love.\nAn abstract\, non-narrative work\, in which the resonance of movements echoes and combines to form a whole\, seeking to entertain\, provoke and seduce. \n\n  \n  \n VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI \nChoreography: Michele Merola\nMusic: Antonio Vivaldi\nLighting design: Cristina Spelti\nCostumes: Carlotta Montanari\nWith 7 dancers \nCo-production Teatro Ristori di Verona\nNational Premiere: 1 February 2019 – Teatro Ristori\, Verona \nWith each creation\, Michele Merola aims higher\, convinced that it is possible to express\, in dance\, joys\, tenderness\, anger\, expectations\, impulses\, torments. For the choreographer\, returning the fire of passions to bodies contaminated by life has always been a conditio sine qua non for representing the meaning of existence on Earth. And it is in the pages of the great composers that Merola loves to search for perspectives\, symmetries\, assonances between human feeling and music. His encounter with Antonio Vivaldi springs from this desire\, for a new production where ‘the relationship between music and movement plays the lion’s share’\, says Merola. \nStarting with Vivaldi’s best pieces and suggestions from the paintings of Marc Chagall\, Michele Merola has created Vivaldi Umane passioni: “With Vivaldi and baroque music\, I rediscover a love for pure choreographic design\, while the inspiration I find in Marc Chagall’s paintings – works such as The Birthday (1915)\, On the City (1918)\, Love on the Scene (1920)\, Introduction to Jewish Theatre (1920) – \, has guided my work towards human passions\, the evasion from the everyday to detach oneself from the ground\, listening to inner emotions. In both artists\, I sense a great desire for life\, beauty\, elegance in living’. \nSome of the composer’s best-known scores are mirrored in Merola’s journeys: the violin concertos La Follia\, L’Inquietudine\, L’Estro Armonico\, and Il Favorito best express the sentiments that punctuate one’s life. Faced with this supreme grace\, the vortex of sonorous intensity and richness of timbre\, Merola pushes the accelerator of movement dynamics to develop new reflections. As an ‘athlete of the heart’\, and of its most secret recesses\, the choreographer visualises those themes with intimate involvement and a strongly contemporary slant\, sculpting them in dance and in the air with the same passion and fury dictated by the notes. Fuelled by the two arts\, the dialogue that is created\, intense\, balanced in terms of the balance of forces\, enriches and nourishes the spectator’s imagination with complexity and compositional richness. It is a chess game in which music and bodies chase each other\, confront each other\, overlap\, in a representational dynamic that the union makes even more intense. \nErmanno Romanelli \n\n  \n  \nMM Contemporary Dance Company \nThe MM Contemporary Dance Company is a contemporary dance company directed by choreographer Michele Merola\, founded in 1999 as a production centre for events and performances and as a promoter of festivals and workshops with the aim of fostering exchanges and alliances between Italian and international artists\, witnesses and spokesmen of contemporary culture. \nThe repertoire of the company\, which is based in Reggio Emilia\, is rich and varied\, thanks to works by Michele Merola and creations by European and Italian choreographers such as Maguy Marin\, Mats Ek\, Mauro Bigonzetti\, Thomas Noone\, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano\, Karl Alfred Schreiner\, Eugenio Scigliano\, Emanuele Soavi\, Enrico Morelli\, Daniele Ninarello\, Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi\, Roberto Tedesco\, and Camilla Monga. \nIn 2010\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the prestigious Danza&Danza Award as the best emerging company and today\, it is\, to all intents and purposes\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of performances throughout the country. For some years now\, it has conquered an international market with performances in European and non-European countries (Korea\, Colombia\, Canada\, Germany\, Russia\, Morocco\, Belgium\, Spain\, Slovenia…).\nIn 2017\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the 2017 Europaindanza Prize – Merit Award for Choreography\, for the performance Bolero by Michele Merola.\nOn 1 January 2021 and 1 January 2022\, MMCDC was featured on RAI 1 in Roberto Bolle’s show “Danza con me” interpreting choreographies by Mauro Bigonzetti and Lorca Massine.\nFor the three-year period 2018-20\, for 2021 and for the three-year period 2022-24 the MM Contemporary Dance Company is an associated company of the Trentino Alto Adige InDanza Circuit.\nMMCDC is supported by the Ministry of Culture\, Emilia-Romagna Region\, Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto\, Centro Permanente Danza/Reggio Emilia. \nmichelemerola.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced price under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL members Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced price under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service in the Foundry is open from 7.30 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nTel 0522273016 \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554

SUMMARY:Il piccolo re dei fiori
DESCRIPTION:SHOW FOR CHILDREN (4-8 years old)\nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori (The Little Flower King) is a story about two young people who live opposite each other. So close and yet so far apart that their eyes have never met. One morning\, however\, she sees him\, all melancholy\, taking care of a small flower bed in front of their house\, with that attention that is only given to the deepest desires. The project explores a form of contamination between languages such as dance\, shadow and music\, conceiving it expressly for children. \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is a fairy tale. From the fairy tale there is the classic “Once upon a time” and also the unfailing “King” who\, however\, here is small and curious\, lives alone\, loves his garden and has pockets full of tulip bulbs. In the fairy tale there is also the theme of ‘waiting’\, the King’s long wait before the flowers bloom\, and also that of ‘lack’. Lack of what? The King does not know\, but he does know that his tulips\, though beautiful\, cannot make him happy. So here is the ‘journey’ in search of what can fill his lack. A journey that is like a dream\, on new routes unknown to the King\, that lasts only a day and a night but seems to encompass the time of a lifetime. \n \nIn the morning light\, the king hears a subtle voice coming from a newly opened tulip flower that repeats ‘I am here\, I am here…’. In front of a little princess\, the king\, full of wonder\, asks himself wonders: “Is it you whom I have been searching for so long?”.\nAs in any self-respecting fairy tale\, there is no shortage of ‘and they all lived happily ever after’\, which makes us think that\, yes\, it was indeed her that the King had so long desired. \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is also a story about two young people who live opposite each other. So close and yet so far apart that their eyes have never met. One morning\, however\, she sees him\, all melancholy\, taking care of a small flowerbed in front of their house\, with that attention that is only given to the deepest desires. It is thus\, observing him surreptitiously\, that she begins to write for him\, on little cards\, the fairy tale that will lead them to their happy reunion. \n \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is a performance in which the theme of the search for happiness is rendered with lightness and poetry\, thanks to a simple and essential plot and exuberant and imaginative imagery. With the counterpoint of a few but important words\, the tale takes on stage form thanks to a rich musical fabric that accompanies and supports the spectacular shadow images of Teatro Gioco Vita\, taken from the splendid illustrations by Květa Pacovská\, and the expressive gestures of the two dancers from Balletto di Roma\, the result of original choreography by Valerio Longo. \nThe power of a fairy tale is contained in its ability to be incredibly distant and at the same time close to our daily lives. What is required of us in order to access a fairy tale is to agree to make ourselves small\, very small\, to pass through magical and unexpected entrances\, to know how to wait and\, while waiting\, to pay attention to every word\, every gesture\, every shadow in order to be amazed by the fairy tale itself. Thus it is also for us. In this almost archetypal fairy tale\, a king\, an enchanted garden\, waiting\, an unknown desire\, a journey\, a finding oneself in happiness\, come alive in the shadows through music and dance\, and allow everyone’s feelings to be revealed in it. Thus\, as each fairy tale\, word after word\, animates the desires of those who hear it\, so life\, unexpectedly\, leads them to fulfil them. \n \n  \nBalletto di Roma / Teatro Gioco Vita \nBalletto di Roma\, founded in 1960 by Franca Bartolomei and Walter Zappolini\, has always promoted the production and dissemination of Italian auteur dance in Europe and throughout the world\, with a repertoire that today is attentive to innovation and research while maintaining a strong focus on the history and tradition that have made it famous. Over the years\, the Roman theatre has seen a succession of prestigious collaborations and multiple creative souls\, and the production activity has grown\, both in terms of quantity and quality of the works staged during the seasons\, with growing public approval. Starting in 2018\, general director Luciano Carratoni brings a significant generational change to the top of the structure by appointing Francesca Magnini\, a university lecturer at the Sapienza University in Rome\, as artistic director. The new artistic figure strengthens the schemes and broadens the objectives of internationalisation by involving bodies and institutions: among the collaborations is also the one with the Department of History\, Anthropology\, Religions\, Arts and Performing Arts of the Sapienza University of Rome. \nballettodiroma.com \nTeatro Gioco Vita (artistic director Diego Maj) was founded in 1971 from the experience of theatrical animation and with its peculiar way of doing and experiencing theatre it made an original contribution to the birth of children’s theatre. It met shadow theatre at the end of the 1970s and developed a unique experience that earned it recognition and prestigious collaborations all over the world. The Shadow Company\, with Fabrizio Montecchi and Nicoletta Garioni as artistic directors\, is engaged not only in the production of performances but also in workshop activities and professional training. Teatro Gioco Vita combines its activities on the territory (Prose Season of the Municipal Theatre of Piacenza\, theatre reviews\, festivals and other cultural events\, hospitality\, workshops\, training) with an increasingly international dimension that has led its shadow theatre performances to be performed not only in Europe\, but also in the United States\, Brazil\, Mexico\, Canada\, Japan\, China\, Israel\, Taiwan\, Turkey\, Jordan and Senegal. \nteatrogiocovita.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFor everybody 6 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at the Fonderia is open from 5.30 p.m. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nTel 0522273016 \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554

The dancers act as the puppeteers of their own bodies\, animating their avatars in real time and composing the cosmogony of a world in suspension. In a cosmic space or in the heart of a virtual city\, the moving bodies of the dancers break free from the laws of physics to the droning analog sounds of Swiss doom rock band Tar Pond\, offering the audience a mesmerizing journey beyond reality. \n\n  \n  \n Cie Gilles Jobin \nSince 1995 Cie Gilles Jobin has created more than 20 choreographic projects\, which have become references on the world stage. In 2015 Gilles Jobin received the Swiss Grand Award for Dance by the Swiss Office of Culture. \nWith the 3D film WOMB in 2016\, the company started investigating digital possibilities for contemporary dance within the volume of the frame. Discovering the power of motion capture\, the company created VR_I\, a groundbreaking dance piece in immersive virtual reality that premiered at the 2017 FNC – Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal and won both the Innovation and People’s Choice awards for Most Innovative Work for New Platforms. In 2018 the work featured at the Sundance Film Festival and at the 75th Venice International Film Festival. A world tour followed in more than 50 cities and 20 countries in America\, Asia and Europe\, making it the most toured VR location-based installation in the world. The company created Dance Trail (AR) at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and in 2020\, La Comédie Virtuelle – live show\, a multiuser live performance selected in official competition at the 77th Venice International Film Festival which won the Quebec XR industry award Numix 2021. \ngillesjobin.com \n  \nINFO & TICKETS \nENTRANCE\nFree \nRESERVATION\n \nYou are required to reserve your place \n– by sending an email to biglietteria@aterballetto.it\, or; \n– by sending an SMS or whatsapp message to 3341023554 \nCONTACTS \nPhone and whatsapp 3341023554 \n\n  \n
