SUMMARY:HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
DESCRIPTION:The Greek National Opera Ballet presents a modern dance triptych composed of Point of No Return by Ioannis Mandafounis\, Lieder ohne Worte by Konstantinos Rigos\, director of the ensemble\, and Plan B by Ermira Goro. The choreographies move between classical and modern styles\, giving the dancers the opportunity to experiment with new dance forms\, accompanied by the music of Giorgos Koumendakis\, Dimitri Terzakis and Dimitra Trypani. \n \nLead Donor of the Greek National Opera \n \nAegean Airlines\nOfficial Air Carrier \n \n  \nThe performance is within the summer festival DANZA AI CHIOSTRI curated by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia. \n          \nPOINT OF NO RETURN \nChoreographer\, costume supervisor: Ioannis Mandafounis\nMusic: Giorgos Koumendakis\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas \nHuman Behaviour_Point of No Return_Photo Andreas Simopoulos \nIn Point of No Return\, the internationally recognised dancer and choreographer Ioannis Mandafounis composes a modern piece out of dance elements deeply rooted in the tradition of classical ballet. In tune with the music of Giorgos Koumendakis\, the GNO Ballet dancers focus on the transparency and authenticity of their moves via the arsenal of classical ballet steps. Although the group experience of their bodies reveals an extremely classical choreographical approach\, one may discern the personal identity of the performers as well as a particularly modern treatment of presence and interpretation of movement – obvious elements that indicate the choreographer’s regular touch. \n“Guided by the title Point of No Return\, this dance piece highlights classical technique as performed by a dancer of today\, without falsifying it. Joy\, communication\, complex choreography and performing immediacy are some of the elements presented by the dancers and shared with the public\,” according to Ioannis Mandafounis. Giorgos Koumendakis’ music follows the example of the “anonymous” folksong creators\, “recasting or recomposing traditional musical themes while retaining their energy and subtlety\, the authenticity of their primordial model\, their pulse and their soul.” \nThe choreography Point of No Return is a co-production of the GNO and the CIE Ioannis Mandafounis. The CIE Ioannis Mandafounis benefits from the joint support of the City of Geneva\, the State of Geneva and the Pro Helvetia – Swiss Art Council for the 2018-2023 period. \nLieder ohne Worte \nChoreographer\, set designer: Konstantinos Rigos\nMusic: Dimitri Terzakis\nCostume designer: Yiorgos Mesimeris\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas\nAssociate architect: Mary Tsangari \n \nThe GNO Ballet director Konstantinos Rigos bases his choreography for the second part of this “alternative journey” on three works by the accomplished Greek-German composer Dimitri Terzakis\, inspired by modern Greek history and the legacy of ancient Greece. The delicate Sprüche im Wind consists of ten brief\, succinct “haikus” for violin and piano. The work Der Hölle Nachklang I constitutes the composer’s emotionally charged reaction to his unbearable childhood memories of the German Occupation of Greece during his early childhood in Athens in the years 1941-1944\, while the third piece\, Lieder ohne Worte\, is an apotheosis of melody based on the musical system of antiquity. \nThe composer notes: “To present the infinitesimal melodic nuances and rapidly changing characters\, the interpretation of this composition may and must be endlessly free\, poetic\, song-like\, speech-like and\, yes\, ‘old-fashioned’ – like in the theatre of ancient Greece.” \nPLAN B \nChoreographer: Ermira Goro\nMusic: Dimitra Trypani\nSet & costume designer: Christos Delidimos\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas \n \nErmira Goro\, a movement and dance theatre artist always in search for new forms of researching and communicating her ideas\, says about the choreography of Plan B: \n“Plan B is a choreographic experiment on rigorously structured\, asymmetrical sonic forms. The dancers move through space in a constantly shifting flux from the particular to the abstract and vice-versa. Plan B\, because Plan A proved impossible and Plan C is already taking place.” In tandem\, the composer Dimitra Trypani likens her music to a “sonic impression of an imaginary videogame in a single-level environment which is to be traversed by the player. However\, within this level\, there are many ‘trap-rooms’ in quick\, unexpected succession\, often without warning. The player’s goal\, of course\, is to survive until they exit the last ‘trap-room’ of the game.” \nInfo&Tickets \nThe performance takes place at the Chiostro Grande of the Chiostri di San Pietro complex. \nTICKETS\nSingle seat 10 €. \nThe performances at the Chiostro Piccolo at h 19.30 entitle you to a reduction on the tickets for the performances of the review DANZA AI CHIOSTRI at the Chiostro grande: reduced ticket at € 8 instead of € 10 \nINFO & TICKET RESERVATION\ninfo@aterballetto.it / 0522 273016 / 334 1023554 (Whatsapp) \nTICKET PURCHASE\nOnline www.biglietteriafonderia39.it\nAt the Chiostri San Pietro: from one hour before the start of the performance \n\n

SUMMARY:LOVE POEMS - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\n\nOpen rehearsals are unique moments in which one can experience the backstage of a performance\, dialogue with the artists and be surprised by the art of dance. \nUnder the title LOVE POEMS\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company presents an evening composed of three new choreographies all under the sign of contemporary: \n– DUETTO INOFFENSIVO (excerpt from ‘Rossini Cards’) by MAURO BIGONZETTI restaged for MMCDC \n– BRUTAL LOVE POEMS by THOMAS NOONE \n– VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI by MICHELE MEROLA. \nThe three works are performed by eight dancers from MMCDC\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of performances throughout the country.\nThe choreographies of the programme\, linked by the common denominator of a distinctive musicality\, are characterised by a strong implication as much interpretative as technical\, which will highlight the stylistic versatility and extraordinary skill of the company’s dancers. From one piece to the next\, the dance will become one with the music\, marrying its compositional richness thanks to choreographies that emphasise movement\, plasticity\, but also the importance of the single gesture. \n  \n  \nDUETTO INOFFENSIVO \nExcerpt from ‘Rossini Cards \nChoreography: Mauro Bigonzetti\nMusic: Gioachino Rossini\nAssistant to choreography: Roberto Zamorano\nLighting design: Carlo Cerri\nCostumes: Helena De Medeiros\nWith 2 dancers \nA passionate and intense duet by Mauro Bigonzetti: in the two women on stage there is sharing\, understanding\, but also disagreement\, and we find condensed the characters and stories of several female characters. Their encounter\, in a continuous repetition and alternation of complicity and conflict\, gives rise to an exchange of energies\, feelings and emotions linked to the disappointments of love. \n\nBRUTAL LOVE POEMS \nChoreography: Thomas Noone\nMusic: Jim Pinchen\nWith 4 dancers \n“I love you so much that I am in pain. I hope you suffer as much as I do …” \nRaw and dynamic\, Brutal Love Poems explores the ‘wild’ side that we hide within us and that only reveals itself in our most intimate moments. Somehow this revelation\, of our most primordial\, terrible and brutal being\, is perhaps only ever manifested in front of those closest to us\, the person we love.\nAn abstract\, non-narrative work\, in which the resonance of movements echoes and combines to form a whole\, seeking to entertain\, provoke and seduce. \n\n  \n  \n VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI \nChoreography: Michele Merola\nMusic: Antonio Vivaldi\nLighting design: Cristina Spelti\nCostumes: Carlotta Montanari\nWith 7 dancers \nCo-production Teatro Ristori di Verona\nNational Premiere: 1 February 2019 – Teatro Ristori\, Verona \nWith each creation\, Michele Merola aims higher\, convinced that it is possible to express\, in dance\, joys\, tenderness\, anger\, expectations\, impulses\, torments. For the choreographer\, returning the fire of passions to bodies contaminated by life has always been a conditio sine qua non for representing the meaning of existence on Earth. And it is in the pages of the great composers that Merola loves to search for perspectives\, symmetries\, assonances between human feeling and music. His encounter with Antonio Vivaldi springs from this desire\, for a new production where ‘the relationship between music and movement plays the lion’s share’\, says Merola. \nStarting with Vivaldi’s best pieces and suggestions from the paintings of Marc Chagall\, Michele Merola has created Vivaldi Umane passioni: “With Vivaldi and baroque music\, I rediscover a love for pure choreographic design\, while the inspiration I find in Marc Chagall’s paintings – works such as The Birthday (1915)\, On the City (1918)\, Love on the Scene (1920)\, Introduction to Jewish Theatre (1920) – \, has guided my work towards human passions\, the evasion from the everyday to detach oneself from the ground\, listening to inner emotions. In both artists\, I sense a great desire for life\, beauty\, elegance in living’. \nSome of the composer’s best-known scores are mirrored in Merola’s journeys: the violin concertos La Follia\, L’Inquietudine\, L’Estro Armonico\, and Il Favorito best express the sentiments that punctuate one’s life. Faced with this supreme grace\, the vortex of sonorous intensity and richness of timbre\, Merola pushes the accelerator of movement dynamics to develop new reflections. As an ‘athlete of the heart’\, and of its most secret recesses\, the choreographer visualises those themes with intimate involvement and a strongly contemporary slant\, sculpting them in dance and in the air with the same passion and fury dictated by the notes. Fuelled by the two arts\, the dialogue that is created\, intense\, balanced in terms of the balance of forces\, enriches and nourishes the spectator’s imagination with complexity and compositional richness. It is a chess game in which music and bodies chase each other\, confront each other\, overlap\, in a representational dynamic that the union makes even more intense. \nErmanno Romanelli \n\n  \n  \nMM Contemporary Dance Company \nThe MM Contemporary Dance Company is a contemporary dance company directed by choreographer Michele Merola\, founded in 1999 as a production centre for events and performances and as a promoter of festivals and workshops with the aim of fostering exchanges and alliances between Italian and international artists\, witnesses and spokesmen of contemporary culture. \nThe repertoire of the company\, which is based in Reggio Emilia\, is rich and varied\, thanks to works by Michele Merola and creations by European and Italian choreographers such as Maguy Marin\, Mats Ek\, Mauro Bigonzetti\, Thomas Noone\, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano\, Karl Alfred Schreiner\, Eugenio Scigliano\, Emanuele Soavi\, Enrico Morelli\, Daniele Ninarello\, Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi\, Roberto Tedesco\, and Camilla Monga. \nIn 2010\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the prestigious Danza&Danza Award as the best emerging company and today\, it is\, to all intents and purposes\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of performances throughout the country. For some years now\, it has conquered an international market with performances in European and non-European countries (Korea\, Colombia\, Canada\, Germany\, Russia\, Morocco\, Belgium\, Spain\, Slovenia…).\nIn 2017\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the 2017 Europaindanza Prize – Merit Award for Choreography\, for the performance Bolero by Michele Merola.\nOn 1 January 2021 and 1 January 2022\, MMCDC was featured on RAI 1 in Roberto Bolle’s show “Danza con me” interpreting choreographies by Mauro Bigonzetti and Lorca Massine.\nFor the three-year period 2018-20\, for 2021 and for the three-year period 2022-24 the MM Contemporary Dance Company is an associated company of the Trentino Alto Adige InDanza Circuit.\nMMCDC is supported by the Ministry of Culture\, Emilia-Romagna Region\, Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto\, Centro Permanente Danza/Reggio Emilia. \nmichelemerola.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced price under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL members Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced price under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service in the Foundry is open from 7.30 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nTel 0522273016 \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554

DESCRIPTION:SHOW FOR CHILDREN (4-8 years old)\nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori (The Little Flower King) is a story about two young people who live opposite each other. The project explores a form of contamination between languages such as dance\, shadow and music\, conceiving it expressly for children. \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is a fairy tale. From the fairy tale there is the classic “Once upon a time” and also the unfailing “King” who\, however\, here is small and curious\, lives alone\, loves his garden and has pockets full of tulip bulbs. In the fairy tale there is also the theme of ‘waiting’\, the King’s long wait before the flowers bloom\, and also that of ‘lack’. Lack of what? The King does not know\, but he does know that his tulips\, though beautiful\, cannot make him happy. So here is the ‘journey’ in search of what can fill his lack. A journey that is like a dream\, on new routes unknown to the King\, that lasts only a day and a night but seems to encompass the time of a lifetime. \n \nIn the morning light\, the king hears a subtle voice coming from a newly opened tulip flower that repeats ‘I am here\, I am here…’. In front of a little princess\, the king\, full of wonder\, asks himself wonders: “Is it you whom I have been searching for so long?”.\nAs in any self-respecting fairy tale\, there is no shortage of ‘and they all lived happily ever after’\, which makes us think that\, yes\, it was indeed her that the King had so long desired. \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is also a story about two young people who live opposite each other. So close and yet so far apart that their eyes have never met. One morning\, however\, she sees him\, all melancholy\, taking care of a small flowerbed in front of their house\, with that attention that is only given to the deepest desires. It is thus\, observing him surreptitiously\, that she begins to write for him\, on little cards\, the fairy tale that will lead them to their happy reunion. \n \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is a performance in which the theme of the search for happiness is rendered with lightness and poetry\, thanks to a simple and essential plot and exuberant and imaginative imagery. With the counterpoint of a few but important words\, the tale takes on stage form thanks to a rich musical fabric that accompanies and supports the spectacular shadow images of Teatro Gioco Vita\, taken from the splendid illustrations by Květa Pacovská\, and the expressive gestures of the two dancers from Balletto di Roma\, the result of original choreography by Valerio Longo. \nThe power of a fairy tale is contained in its ability to be incredibly distant and at the same time close to our daily lives. What is required of us in order to access a fairy tale is to agree to make ourselves small\, very small\, to pass through magical and unexpected entrances\, to know how to wait and\, while waiting\, to pay attention to every word\, every gesture\, every shadow in order to be amazed by the fairy tale itself. Thus it is also for us. In this almost archetypal fairy tale\, a king\, an enchanted garden\, waiting\, an unknown desire\, a journey\, a finding oneself in happiness\, come alive in the shadows through music and dance\, and allow everyone’s feelings to be revealed in it. Thus\, as each fairy tale\, word after word\, animates the desires of those who hear it\, so life\, unexpectedly\, leads them to fulfil them. \n \n  \nBalletto di Roma / Teatro Gioco Vita \nBalletto di Roma\, founded in 1960 by Franca Bartolomei and Walter Zappolini\, has always promoted the production and dissemination of Italian auteur dance in Europe and throughout the world\, with a repertoire that today is attentive to innovation and research while maintaining a strong focus on the history and tradition that have made it famous. Over the years\, the Roman theatre has seen a succession of prestigious collaborations and multiple creative souls\, and the production activity has grown\, both in terms of quantity and quality of the works staged during the seasons\, with growing public approval. Starting in 2018\, general director Luciano Carratoni brings a significant generational change to the top of the structure by appointing Francesca Magnini\, a university lecturer at the Sapienza University in Rome\, as artistic director. The new artistic figure strengthens the schemes and broadens the objectives of internationalisation by involving bodies and institutions: among the collaborations is also the one with the Department of History\, Anthropology\, Religions\, Arts and Performing Arts of the Sapienza University of Rome. \nballettodiroma.com \nTeatro Gioco Vita (artistic director Diego Maj) was founded in 1971 from the experience of theatrical animation and with its peculiar way of doing and experiencing theatre it made an original contribution to the birth of children’s theatre. It met shadow theatre at the end of the 1970s and developed a unique experience that earned it recognition and prestigious collaborations all over the world. The dancers act as the puppeteers of their own bodies\, animating their avatars in real time and composing the cosmogony of a world in suspension. In a cosmic space or in the heart of a virtual city\, the moving bodies of the dancers break free from the laws of physics to the droning analog sounds of Swiss doom rock band Tar Pond\, offering the audience a mesmerizing journey beyond reality. \n\n  \n  \n Cie Gilles Jobin \nSince 1995 Cie Gilles Jobin has created more than 20 choreographic projects\, which have become references on the world stage. In 2015 Gilles Jobin received the Swiss Grand Award for Dance by the Swiss Office of Culture. \nWith the 3D film WOMB in 2016\, the company started investigating digital possibilities for contemporary dance within the volume of the frame. Discovering the power of motion capture\, the company created VR_I\, a groundbreaking dance piece in immersive virtual reality that premiered at the 2017 FNC – Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal and won both the Innovation and People’s Choice awards for Most Innovative Work for New Platforms. In 2018 the work featured at the Sundance Film Festival and at the 75th Venice International Film Festival. A world tour followed in more than 50 cities and 20 countries in America\, Asia and Europe\, making it the most toured VR location-based installation in the world. The company created Dance Trail (AR) at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and in 2020\, La Comédie Virtuelle – live show\, a multiuser live performance selected in official competition at the 77th Venice International Film Festival which won the Quebec XR industry award Numix 2021. \ngillesjobin.com \n  \nINFO & TICKETS \nENTRANCE\nFree \nRESERVATION\n \nYou are required to reserve your place \n– by sending an email to biglietteria@aterballetto.it\, or; \n– by sending an SMS or whatsapp message to 3341023554 \nCONTACTS \nPhone and whatsapp 3341023554 \n\n  \n

DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\n\nOpen rehearsals are unique moments in which it is possible to experience the backstage of a performance\, dialogue with the artists and be surprised by the art of dance. \nWinter Forest creates an unclassifiable landscape with a winter\, glacial character\, like a Nordic forest\, obtained with special light effects reflected on a silk backdrop. \n\n  \n  \nCREDITS\nChoreography Fabrizio Favale\nDancers Daniele Bianco\, Valentina Staltari\, Po-Nien Wang\nSet\, costume and art work First Rose\nSounds recorded in zoos of different countries around the world Fabrizio Favale\nMusic Massimo Carozzi\, Daniela Cattivelli\, Christian Fennesz\, Jónsi\, Alex Somers \nCo-produced by Festival Danza in Rete – Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Vicenza\, KLm – Kinkaleri / Le Supplici / mk\nSupported by MIBAC / Regione Emilia-Romagna\nIn collaboration with h(abita)t – Rete di Spazi per la Danza / Sementerie Artistiche\, Crevalcore \nSYNOPSIS \nWinter Forest creates an unclassifiable landscape with a winter\, glacial character\, like a Nordic forest\, obtained with special light effects reflected on a silk backdrop. Here three dancers move in a dance made of the intertwining of a very high technical complexity and unknown movements\, like creatures from other worlds. Space and costumes of the dancers have similar aesthetic traits\, resulting in a camouflage effect. The choreography is built with a cyclical idea whose elements\, while varying\, return with an apparent randomness\, as happens to thunderstorms and storms. \n \nAfter having attended for a long time outdoor landscapes in their changes within the alternation of the seasons (The Invisible Seasons – Infinite Choreographic Cycle 2018-2021\, awarded with the Siae and Mibac Prize For Who Creates and selected by the Big Pulse Alliance as one of the eight best European outdoor projects 2021 in the programme Open Air Commission)\, with this project Fabrizio Favale now investigates the concept of mimicry. Sometimes useful in nature\, sometimes useless\, mimicry is seen here first of all as an aesthetic event. A way of disappearing\, dissolving into the surrounding\, to reappear with the appearance of the surrounding. \nFabrizio Favale \nHis dance is oriented towards abstraction\, typical of the American techniques with which he was trained. The choreographic landscapes that he draws in his works seem to refer from time to time to distant and unknown worlds\, in which dance presents itself as a horizon free from interpretation and classification. \nFabrizio studied classical ballet with Denis Carey\, Victor Litvinov\, Sue Carlton Jones. Contemporary techniques with Andé Peck\, Roberta Garrison\, Jeff Slayton\, Betty Jones\, Nina Watt\, Irene Hultmann\, Louise Burns\, Alwin Nicholais. \nFrom a very young age he was awarded numerous scholarships including Full Scholarship at the American Dance Festival\, Duke University\, USA in 1990.\nAt 19 he was awarded with the Prize “Nati per la danza” at the Theatre Romolo Valli in Reggio Emilia and at 26 he was nominated “best Italian dancer of the year 1996” by the G. The main ones are: “Piattaforma della Danza Balinese” (2014-2015) for the Santarcangelo Festival and “Circo Massimo” (2016-2017) for the Duse Theater in Bologna. \nHe collaborates with musicians and composers such as Mountains (USA)\, Teho Teardo (IT)\, Daniela Cattivelli (IT) and visual artists such as ZimmerFrei (IT)\, Lele Marcoianni (IT). \nHis outdoor project Le Stagioni Invisibili – Ciclo Coreografico Infinito 2018-2021\, received the “PerChiCrea 2019” Production Award from Siae and Mibac – Italian Ministry of Culture and was shortlisted by the Big Pulse Dance Alliance as one of the best 8 European projects 2021 in its programme Open Air Commissions. \nWith the duo First Rose (Fabrizio Favale and Andrea Del Bianco)\, he also designs scenes\, costumes and artifacts\, which sometimes graft the choreographic works with an enigmatic figuration of strange beings\, as hybrids of a kind of organic and inorganic world. \nFor the three-year period 22-24 Fabrizio Favale is nominated Italian Associate Artist of MILANoLTRE\, Teatro Elfo-Puccini Milan. \nlesupplici.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull: 3 euro\nUnder 6: free \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at the Fonderia is open from 5.30 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nTel +39 0522 273016 \nMobile and whatsapp +39 3341023554

Recall in heart.\nIn ancient times\, the heart was thought to be the home of memory\, which today we know to be the brain.\nIn these terms\, therefore\, remembering does not only mean ‘having memory’ but having past experiences live inside you\, making them impact your essence and your life. \nTales and anecdotes\, but also desires\, goals and dreams. And also assumptions\, fears and apprehensions about what we will be\, about what is to come. \nThe end result of a workshop on childhood seen by those who lived it not too long ago and at the same time\, in imagining themselves old\, by those who today can only assume memories still unknown. \nChoreography Roberto Tedesco\nPerformers Dancers from the formazione StudioXL \nMusic Hiro Kone\, Colleen\nLight design Gessica Germini \nOh Peter\, hello. Goodbye. \nHere was the greeting you had to become.\nI awaited it with understanding because in all our things there were sentences and redemptions. In it is included the desire to which I had to return and which I had to keep. A resolute control of aspirations is necessary in order not to become a victim of them.\nYou are without siege\, and I am no longer a smile but winter. Cover yourself too.\nYou said that every body seeks\, calls\, must fulfil itself. It is true\, here is the ritual to go.\nI feel that you want to drag me into your space but I have chosen to return to myself\, in symbiosis with my wide gestures and without constraints. Until they are fulfilled we will guard our sleeps but stand in profile to give access to the nightmares.\nThen I will open my hands as in a space of my own\, without having yours around to take one last close look. \nChoreography Laura Matano\nPerformers Compagnia XL\nMusic Various Authors\nLight design Gessica Germini \n \nTime \nThe perception of time is highly subjective\, each of us has its own past. We are our past. This is shown by our faces with the signs of advancing age\, it is shown by our eyes in which a mixture of disappointment and satisfaction shines through.\nWithout memory of the past\, without projection into the future\, we cannot make sense of the world and the people in it.\nSo it is up to us to choose and ask ourselves questions\, is time our ally? Can it heal our wounds? Or do we use time only to forget and eventually forgive? \nChoreography Taulant Shehu\nPerformers Dancers from formazione StudioXL \nAuthors Ezio Bosso\nLight design Gessica Germini \nStudioXL International Contemporary Dance Education \nArtistic Direction Emanuela Baratin\, Laura Matano \nStudioXL is aimed at dancers aged 18 and over who wish to deepen their study of the contemporary performing arts.\nIt is an eight-month long advanced training course during which they will alternate study\, research and performance throughout Europe.\nInternationally renowned professional choreographers also participate in the project in order to give the dancers the best training possible.\nThe aim of the study course is to refine the technical\, scenic and expressive skills of each dancer and to guide them to the discovery and enhancement of their professional identity. \nstudioxlcontemporary.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull 10 euro\nReduced under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL members Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service in Fonderia is open from 5 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nTel 0522273016 \nCell and whatsapp 3341023554

MINE is an experiment of collective\, horizontal creation and choreographic writing by ten hands that aims to carry on a research work focused on the sharing of practices\, experimentations and languages. \nEsercizi per un manifesto poetico\, winner of the 2019 edition of DNA Appunti Coreografici marks the beginning of their artistic collaboration. \nIn 2020 they debut with the choreographic project Corpi Elettrici\, in collaboration with the Gender Bender Festival and the Electronic Music School of the G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna. The work was initially conceived as a special project by Gender Bender and the G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna\, developed during the lockdown to make the 5 dancemakers of the Collective work together with 20 students from the Electronic Music and Applied Music courses. From these meetings\, which took the form of videoconference sessions\, 20 short video works were produced. From these 20 videos the MINE Collective subsequently developed a creation for the stage. \nIn 2021 they are choreographers for the project Swans never die(Danzare la memoria 2020-2022) a project of Lavanderia a Vapore – Centro di Residenza per la Danza (Piemonte dal Vivo – Circuito Multidisciplinare dello Spettacolo\, Coorpi\, Didee Arti e Comunicazioni\, Mosaico Danza\, Zerogrammi); Operaestate Festival Veneto and Centro per la Scena Contemporanea CSC Bassano del Grappa; Triennale Milano Teatro; Fondazione Teatro Grande di Brescia; Festival Bolzano Danza – Fondazione Haydn; Gender Bender Festival; “Memory in Motion. SUMMARY:DROP
DESCRIPTION:XL Dance Company – “Prima di domani” – ph. Elena Bianchi \nThe young XL Dance Company\, directed by Emanuela Baratin and Laura Matano\, previews Drop\, the new creation by Laura Matano. \nCredits \nFrom an idea by Laura Matano\nChoreography: Laura Matano\nMusical collaborator: Marco Giacomelli\nConcept and lyrics: Mariagrazia Ferro\nSet design: Cinzia Macis \nConcept \nKnowledge is only possible by differentiation\, at least in order to share it and be understood\, it is mostly necessary to affirm that something is not something else.\nUndeniable\, even a little frustrating\, is the presence of an internal dichotomy within the human being\, let us say biological\, which makes the double a moment of synthesis but also of contrast.\nThe double takes on a symbolic value from scientific and objective observation. The double nature can be interpreted in a dissociative key\, of splitting or\, at the same time\, as a defence and synthesis mechanism. \nThe double is a fetish that embodies how we are made and how far we can think and think about ourselves. \nThe choreography is designed to be performed by three female and three male dancers.\nThe entire production consists of three acts that can also be staged independently. ACT I -female-\, ACT II -male-\, ACT III -mixed. \nAct I and Act II will differ only in the execution of the choreography by the two groups of dancers. There will be no change in the choreographic structure\, which will remain identical; what will change is the mode of execution\, since one act will be performed by female dancers and the other by male dancers. \nAct III constitutes the moment of synthesis in which the above-mentioned differences are resolved and renewed and will have its own choreography. \nXL DANCE COMPANY \nIt was born in Reggio Emilia under the artistic direction of Emanuela Baratin and Laura Matano. \nThe aim of the dance company is to create performances by circulating choreographers and international realities. In XL Dance Company\, the movement\, the body\, the gestures become matter and surface for the individual and collective expression\, instruments of choreographic experimentation through methods and techniques supporting a creativity born from intuitions\, resonances and perceptions. The productions reflect the DNA of XL Dance Company\, which makes contamination between styles its distinctive feature. Open to innovation\, the dancers perform in important national and international festivals and theatres. \nstudioxlcontemporary.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull: 3 euro\nUnder 6: free \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at the Fonderia is open from 17.30. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nTel 0522273016 \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554

SUMMARY:DANCING BRUNO
DESCRIPTION:Compagnia Sanpapié – Dancing Bruno – ph. Donato Aquaro \nWe open the new season at Fonderia\, making just about everyone dance in an evening of about two and a half hours\, where 12 artists including musicians\, dancers\, singers and actors\, compete for the audience\, challenging each other not to leave a single spectator sitting. \n Dancing Bruno by the Milan-based company               Sanpapié is a ride through popular dance between the early 1900s and the early 1970s\, clinging to the saddle of the history of social and political changes that have transformed the way we experience spaces\, relationships\, roles and steps in common. \nIn Dancing Bruno\, irony opens the door wide to encounter and experimentation. It is a participatory experience where audience and performer merge in the same game\, creating a surreal space in which time is suspended. \n\nCREDITS \nConcept Lara Guidetti\, Saverio Bari\nWith contributions from Marco De Meo\, Marcello Gori\, Susanna Gozzetti\, Cecilia Vecchio\nChoreography and direction Lara Guidetti\nTexts Saverio Bari\nOriginal music and soundtrack Marcello Gori\nLive music Andrea Vulpani\nCostume Design Daniela De Blasio\nWith Saverio Bari\, Caterina Cescotti\, Luis Fernando Colombo\, Gioele Cosentino\, Marco De Meo\, Marcello Gori\, Susanna Gozzetti\, Lara Guidetti\, Francesca La Stella\, Matteo Sacco\, Cecilia Vecchio \nCoproduction Sanpapié and Fondazione Luzzati – Teatro della Tosse \nWHAT'S DANCING BRUNO? \nWhat comes naturally to the question is what is a dancing and especially who is Bruno. \nTo the first question the answer comes seemingly easy: a dancing is a dance hall before it is called a discotheque and after it has lost its definition of balera. Dancing is the middle ground where couple dancing opens up to rhythmic contaminations\, cultures\, forms and figures from other parts of the world. In common with the balera are the rules and\, above all\, the powerful voice of popular extraction\, while the strain toward disco reveals a world that is broadening and opening itself to encounter and experimentation\, looking at the foreigner with a fascinated and curious manner\, imitating his movements\, and ready to exchange its own. \nCompagnia Sanpapié – Dancing Bruno – ph. Donato Aquaro \nAnd Bruno? Who’s Bruno? \nBruno is the secret word\,\n        it is the memory that one carries within                                    oneself  forever\,\n        able to renew itself\n        with each generation. \nHe\, too\, is a clandestine idea: that of a theater where there is no barrier between audience and stage\, the secret and intimate receptacle of a popular universe in which we sink our roots\, the guardian of a world that is never completely lost but is transformed it is the pole that warns us when we are in danger\, to give us time to move elsewhere\, to be reborn changed\, contaminated… it is someone we have all met\, on any corner\, between any two streets\, who reminds us who we are\, who we have been\, who we could be… it is a question without the rush of the answer and the excitement of discovery… \nCompagnia Sanpapié – Dancing Bruno – ph. Donato Aquaro \nSanpapié Company \n\nSanpapié was founded in 2008 by the will of four young people then fresh out of academy: Lara Guidetti\, dancer and choreographer; Sarah Chiarcos\, playwright; Marcello Gori\, musician; and Fabio Ferretti\, organizer\, interested in investigating the depths of research without forgetting the Excel sheets. \nLike all companies\, in 13 years it has gone through very different phases and seasons\, lost pieces and then found them again\, missed trains and won calls\, but it has never betrayed its original spirit: seeking the most special and impervious way to reach the heart of the beholder. \nSanpapié has been and continues to be the home of a group of artists and organizers in perpetual motion\, constantly searching for new stimuli and new challenges; an extended family from Emilia-Milan-Romagna-Genoa (with flashes of Campania\, Puglia\, Sicily and Tuscany) that has not been afraid to grow and transform itself into a virtuous cultural enterprise. From 2015 to 2017\, Sanpapié received a grant from MiBACT as a Dance Production enterprise; from 2017 to 2019\, it won the Funder35 call from Fondazione Cariplo; and in its history it has performed not only in Italy but also in France\, the United Kingdom\, Spain\, Germany\, Portugal\, and China. \nsanpapie.com \n\nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, members CRAL Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nTicket service in Fonderia is active from 7:30 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nCell and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it \n\nCompagnia Sanpapié – Dancing Bruno – ph. SUMMARY:C'è vita su Venere
DESCRIPTION:C’è vita su Venere – Abbondanza/Bertoni Company – ph. Tobia Abbondanza \nCompagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni\, one of the most prolific companies on the Italian scene for its creations and for the diffusion of contemporary dance theater\, presents a show that sees the return on stage of Antonella Bertoni. \nC’è vita su Venere is a solo that investigates the diversity of the body\, particularly the female body and its evolution with age and time. A journey on Venus\, where gravity is dense\, where in its slow going the body will reveal itself in a final metamorphosis. \nTwo perfomances:  at 7.00 p.m and 9.00 p.m \n\n\n\nCREDITS \nC’È VITA SU VENERE \nBy Michele Abbondanza and Antonella BertoniWith Antonella BertoniLights Andrea GentiliSound elaborations Orlando CainelliTechnical Claudio ModugnoMask and props Nadezhda SimenovaDress Chiara Defant \nOrganization\, strategy and development Dalia MaciiAdministration and coordination Francesca LeonelliPress office Susanna CaldonazziCommunication Francesca VeneziaPhotos Tobia Abbondanza \nCONCEPT\nI had long been away from the scene\, (pandemic outcomes aside) shyly listening to and respecting the transformations that age digs into my body. \nPassing years in which I hesitated to take the step of taking steps to make a transition: to show myself. \nThen perhaps the very special moment we are living in prompted me\, as if instinctively\, to re-engage in a practice that I know well and yet feel new. A practice\, physical and otherwise\, that was immediately sensitive to a vocation I felt in me primary: yearning for the moment of encounter\, of the “moving” of making theater. \n \nAnd in doing so\, I could not disregard a strongly personal marker: persona\, that is\, literally “the mask of a character (actor)\,” which I have tried\, and I still do not know if vainly\, to peel off my face. Thus I landed on another planet\, finding there an infinity of life and other lives. Of all of them it would have been worth telling and dancing the contours: I went through only and curiously some of them convinced that no woman is “every woman”. I did it with the form that this present time has given me and gives me: silver\, oak and Venus. \nThis me being\, this me being is the only way I feel the ephemerality that sops us up fade a little. \nI am here in one piece.\nMammal agèe\,\nslow\,\nknotted doing\,\nsmelling of interlocking.\nAlone and double\,\nStill as the water of a trembling stream\, always. \n \n\nABBONDANZA BERTONI COMPANY\nFrom New York experience in the school of Alwin Nikolais to French studies with Dominique Dupuy\, through Carolyn Carlson‘s ‘poetic’ improvisations and the study and practice of Zen\, Michele Abbondanza (co-founder of the Sosta Palmizi group and teacher at the Piccolo Theatre School in Milan) and Antonella Bertoni founded the Abbondanza/Bertoni Company\, recognized as one of the most prolific artistic realities on the Italian scene for their creations\, educational and pedagogical activities and for the dissemination of contemporary dance theater. \nTheirs is an intimate dance\, which is reflected in the otherness of the couple; Belonging to their being together on stage is a quality of movement in two voices in which is tangible the acceptance of the body of one in the other\, the habit in the movement to listening\, a dialectic of encounter and clash between thoughts and physicality not experienced only in artistic practice. \nhttp://www.abbondanzabertoni.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, members CRAL Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nTicket service in Fonderia is active from 6 p.m. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nCell and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it
