SUMMARY:Habemus Naufragium
DESCRIPTION:Silvia Pezzarossi dances the storms of the present at Fonderia.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn a world that increasingly struggles to imagine its future in the face of climatic\, social\, and political upheavals\, Habemus Naufragium invites us—with momentum—towards a positive resilience. Choreographer Silvia Pezzarossi\, in duet with dancer Anna-Maria Bayon\, proposes an eccentric shipwreck that carries us through the tempests of our time. \nWith an imagination without limits—at times grotesque and ironic\, at others poetic—their metaphorical dances push solidarity and complicity towards a fluid\, perfect metamorphosis of bodies\, until they become one: a new being\, in full transformation. \nLike a remedy for our eco-anxiety\, this colourful performance offers a dose of creative hope to be taken with eyes wide open. \nStrobe lighting is used. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://youtu.be/mni3RFxIr5o \nCREDITS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDirection and choreography: Silvia PezzarossiCreation and performance: Silvia Pezzarossi\, Anna-Maria Besnier BayonArtistic assistance and dramaturgy: Simon GillardDramaturgy and performers’ direction support: Maialen ArranoSound creation: Clément Braive\, Raphaël VeninLighting design: Jean-Jacques DeneumoustierTechnical direction: Leo De Neve\, Adele EvansCostumes: Marta Lodoli \nCo-productions: Théâtre Les Brigittines\, Théâtre Delta\, Charleroi Danse – Centre Chorégraphique de Wallonie-Bruxelles \nArtistic residencies: Théâtre Les Brigittines\, Théâtre Delta\, Charleroi Danse – Centre Chorégraphique de Wallonie-Bruxelles\, Théâtre Marni\, Up Circus and Performing Arts\, Studio Étangs Noir\, Cie 29.27 / SEPT CENT QUATRE VINGT TROIS\, La Briqueterie CDCN Val-de-Marne\, CC Wolubilis\, CC Les Riches Claires\, Akropoditi Dance Centre \nWith the support of: Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles – Dance Department\, Wallonie-Bruxelles International\, WBTD\, Plastique Palace Théâtre\, Charleroi Danse – Centre Chorégraphique de Wallonie-Bruxelles \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSilvia Pezzarossi \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nItalian dancer and choreographer Silvia Pezzarossi\, based in Brussels since 2012\, initially trained in classical dance in Reggio Emilia at the Accademia Cosi-Stafanescu\, before continuing her studies in contemporary dance at the Ballet Junior de Genève and at the professional school Modem / Cie Zappalà Danza (Sicily). \nIn Belgium\, she has worked as a dancer and performer with Lies Serdons\, the Poetic Punkers collective\, Cie Marie Martinez\, and the contemporary circus company Les Chaussons Rouges. Internationally\, she has collaborated with Keren Rosenberg\, Roy Assaf\, and Roberto Zappalà. \nSince 2013\, Silvia has been developing her own choreographic work\, creating Mucyclo (2014)\, Waiting for the Fishes (2016)\, En attendant que les poissons passent… (2018)\, and Habemus Naufragium (2024). \nA keen observer of society\, her research explores human behaviour and its dynamics\, with particular attention to energy\, expressivity\, and bodily metamorphosis—balancing poetry and spontaneity. Her works are supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and Charleroi Danse\, and have toured in Belgium\, France\, Greece\, Turkey\, and Italy. \nHabemus Naufragium\, her fourth project\, was selected by the Théâtre des Doms as part of the Belgian programme at the Festival d’Avignon 2025. \nSilvia is currently in the research phase for a new creation scheduled for 2027. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nINFO & TICKETS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETSFull price: €10Reduced price (under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL Comune di Reggio Emilia members): €6Reduced price (under 8): €3 \nTICKET PURCHASE \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe box office at Fonderia opens one hour before the start of the performance. \nTickets are unnumbered. \nCONTACTS \nMobile & WhatsApp: +39 334 102 3554

DESCRIPTION:Pablo Girolami dances through the voids of fear at Fonderia.\n \nMonday 30 March\, 6:00 pm – open rehearsal \nTuesday 31 March\, 9:00 pm – performance – premiere \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe fear of holes—or rather\, of all those small geometric shapes that\, when clustered together\, create masses of tiny cavities. A play of images based on three-dimensional repetitions and juxtapositions that triggers a sense of disgust and repulsion; the alarm is activated by an intrinsic code\, developed over centuries by our ancestors\, which protects the phobic subject from the danger of infection by parasitic forms or injury from venomous animals. \nAnxiety\, anguish\, fear: hundreds of names for a single existential condition—the fear of losing control over the world\, over our body\, over the other. \nThe medium through which a trypophobic skeleton takes shape is geometry\, which\, through the imaginative contribution of the human mind\, becomes an active gateway to fear\, reflecting human insecurities and paranoias. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkMUMq-eNaY \nCREDITS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCompagnia IVONAChoreography: Pablo GirolamiDancers: Guilherme Leal\, Pablo GirolamiMusic: Jacob Kirkegaard\, Philip Jeck\, Max Richter\, Guilherme Curade and others to be confirmedVideo: xxcxclarissaLighting: Angelo TauroDramaturgy: Karen Stenico \nProduction: House of IVONA\, Nutida Festival – Stazione Utopia\, The Rijeka Port of Dance Festival\, Skopje Dance Festival\, Dance Festival Malta\, TACT Festival in Trieste\, Quinzena de Dança de Almada – International Dance Festival \nWith the support of KOMM TANZ Teatro Cartiera\, Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni in collaboration with the Comune di Rovereto; Festival Fuori Programma & Romaeuropa Festival; ResiDanceXL – AnticorpiXL – Network Giovane Danza d’Autore\, coordinated by L’arboreto – Teatro Dimora di Mondaino; Centro di Residenza della Toscana (Armunia – CapoTrave/Kilowatt); TWAIN Centro di Produzione Danza and PERIFERIE ARTISTICHE; DANCEHAUSpiù\, Milan; Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia; MIC – Italian Ministry of Culture. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPablo Girolami \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPablo Girolami is a choreographer of Italian-Spanish origin who trained at the Tanz Akademie Zürich\, where he graduated in 2014.He has danced with Hessisches Staatsballett Wiesbaden/Darmstadt and Spellbound Contemporary Ballet\, working with choreographers such as Wayne McGregor\, Hofesh Shechter\, and Marcos Morau. \nHe is currently the artistic director of IVONA and a freelance choreographer. SUMMARY:Cry Violet
DESCRIPTION:Panzetti / Ticconi: dance between expiation and greenwashing at Fonderia.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCRY VIOLET\, named after the extinct flower of the same name\, is a choreographic creation by and with Panzetti / Ticconi\, set to a sound composition conceived and performed by Teho Teardo. \nUsing a gestural code that evokes expressions of pain and shame inspired by the iconography of original sin\, the work highlights the human tendency to atone for guilt through practices that attempt either to repair environmental damage already done or to conceal it. Widespread phenomena such as greenwashing\, in fact\, represent deceptive practices that evade real solutions to the damage human action has inflicted on the environment. \nActions such as cleaning merge with crying. In this context\, a common object like a cloth or handkerchief transforms its function—from a cleaning tool into an element that holds pain\, absorbing tears. Echoing Lady Macbeth’s repeated and futile gesture of trying to wash away the mark of guilt from her hands\, the two performers trace the mechanical ritual of cleaning and concealing. It is within this limbo—between genuine attempts and merely superficial efforts to repair the damage—that CRY VIOLET takes shape\, in a shifting complicity between the aestheticisation of guilt and the act of resolving or hiding it\, until guilt itself becomes an appealing\, seductive\, almost promotional material. \n\n“(…) the choreographic elegance of Panzetti/Ticconi meets the musical energy of Teho Teardo. The composer\, musician and sound designer—winner of the David di Donatello for Best Original Score for the soundtrack of Il Divo by Paolo Sorrentino—has long explored stimuli from other artistic forms. SUMMARY:STELLA
DESCRIPTION:Luciano Padovani brings the dance of the Years of Lead to Fonderia.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRome\, Saturday 18 March 1978.An orange commercial envelope is found in an underpass at Largo di Torre Argentina\, containing a Polaroid photograph: the portrait of a man in shirtsleeves\, a flag with a five-pointed star… and communiqué no. 1 of the Red Brigades. The years of desire and lead\, in a danced fragment of republican Italy. \nThe lived experience of choreographer Luciano Padovani becomes\, in STELLA\, material shaped through the bodies and voices of the two performers: Roberta Piazza and Andrea Rizzo. \n\nWith them\, we enter a brigatist hideout—that hideout… an interior scene inhabited and stirred by intense emotions and moments of great humanity and poetry. A warm atmosphere made of illusions and projections\, masterfully suggested by costume designer Lucia Lapolla. \nElisabetta Calvi \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhttps://youtu.be/2Ju8v8nh5lo?si=50WffQBk6J1O9wwD \nCREDITS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography and direction: Luciano PadovaniBy and with Luciano Padovani\, Roberta Piazza\, Andrea RizzoCritical eye: Mauro ZocchettaLighting: Thomas HeugerCostumes: Lucia Lapolla \nA production by Compagnia Naturalis Labor \nCo-production: Festival AbanoDanza 2024 \nWith the support of: MIC – Ministry of Culture\, Regione Veneto\, Arco Danza\, Comune di Vicenza \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLuciano Padovani \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHe came to dance relatively late\, during his university studies. A decisive encounter was with Carolyn Carlson\, who encouraged him to move abroad. He chose Paris\, where he spent two intense years in the heart of the nouvelle danse française. He then returned to Italy and moved to Milan\, where he worked with Susanna Beltrami’s company and at Teatro alla Scala. Eventually\, he returned to Vicenza and founded Compagnia Naturalis Labor. It was then that he realised that being a choreographer was truly his calling. He describes himself as a “craftsman of the body.” \nWith the company\, he has created dozens of works. He has collaborated on numerous opera productions\, in theatre\, for events\, and has created choreographies for various Italian dance companies. He is the artistic director of Festival AbanoDanza and Visioni di Danza. SUMMARY:Spellbound Evening\, choreographies by Mauro Astolfi
DESCRIPTION:Mauro Astolfi presents three choreographies created for his company as part of Danza in Fonderia.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn the occasion of International Dance Day\, Fonderia hosts three works by Mauro Astolfi for Spellbound Contemporary Ballet. On stage: Trust\, If you were a man and Holy Shift—three pieces exploring relationships\, listening and transformation through the language of dance. \n\n6:00 PM – Open rehearsal9:00 PM – Performance \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTrust \n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography and direction: Mauro AstolfiPerformers: Maria Cossu\, Giuliana MeleMusic: Various artists \nTrust is a short story about two women who do not really know how to behave toward one another. It is an attempt at a temporary agreement\, based on the idea of mutual trust as a tool for getting to know each other a little more quickly. A game woven from different personalities\, yet driven by a subtle need to understand what the other is thinking\, how she might stay close to you\, how you might live beside her. \nTrust is an infantile\, mature\, adolescent yet aware duet—a brief narrative\, a suggestion about certain decisions that sometimes must be made quickly and that can change the course of life. The two vibrate together\, in unison they hide within one another\, they protect each other… and\, moving forward\, they become friends; in the end\, they discover that they can trust one another. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you were a man \n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography: Mauro AstolfiPerformers: Filippo Arlenghi\, Roberto Pontieri\, Alessandro Piergentili\, Lorenzo BeneventanoMusic: Various artistsCostumes: Anna Coluccia \nA production by Spellbound \nWith the support of the Ministry of Culture \nCo-production: Attraversamenti Multipli and Armonie d’Arte Festival \nIf you were a man is a study for four men on a profound reprogramming of listening. If the sounds produced by movement and breath could always be decoded in time\, certain things might be avoided\, might never happen\, and one might learn to listen effectively to a body that does not speak. \nThe wonder of a silent dialogue carries unexpected results with it… even the smallest noises and the body’s strategies may reveal an imminent conflict in advance. \nRejection\, suspicion\, distrust\, love\, or fear are not always communicated in time for intervention\, in time to receive precious information about others. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nHoly Shift \n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography and direction: Mauro AstolfiPerformers: Maria Cossu\, Marco Prete\, Martina Staltari\, Miriam Raffone\, Filippo Arlenghi\, Lorenzo Beneventano\, Alessandro Piergentili\, Anita Bonavida\, Giuliana MeleLighting design: Marco PolicastroOriginal music: Davidson JaconelloCostumes: Anna ColucciaChoreography assistant: Elena Furlan \nA production by Spellbound \nWith the support of the Ministry of Culture and Regione Lazio \nIn collaboration with Festival MilanOltre \nHoly Shift is a rupture of the paradigm\, the end of a linear dream.A kind of “sacred” disorientation in which it is better to stop looking for answers in familiar models and instead cultivate a new openness to change. \nSometimes we can find the sacred in ruin\, in disintegration\, where a new version of the “sacred” may be hidden. \nHoly Shift is an inner displacement toward a new orientation\, not toward power\, but toward presence.I do not believe the future will be built like a project…rather\, it will reveal itself to those who are able to remain listening to the void\,to inhabit uncertainty without fleeing it\,to recognise in chaos the hidden grammar of another possibility. \nMauro Astolfi \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMauro Astolfi \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMauro Astolfi is one of the most representative authors on the European contemporary dance scene. Active internationally as both a choreographer and teacher\, he has developed a distinctive and ever-evolving movement language\, shaped by a personal reinterpretation of different forms of contemporary expression. \nAfter a long period in the United States\, he founded Spellbound Contemporary Ballet in 1994 together with Valentina Marini\, a production project that is now a leading presence on the international contemporary dance market. Alongside his extensive work for the company\, Astolfi has also been active in recent years as a freelance choreographer. \nHis creations include works for Kitonb Extreme Theatre Company\, the Theatre School of Amsterdam (2004)\, Balletto di Roma (2009 and 2012)\, Szegedi Kortárs Balett in Hungary (2009)—the same year he also choreographed the musical I Promessi Sposi – Opera moderna directed by Michele Guardì—Leipziger Ballett (2011)\, and River North Chicago Dance Company (2011). In that same year\, he co-created a project with Israeli artist Adi Salant\, Associate Director of Batsheva Dance Company\, for Danza e/è cultura\, a cultural bridge between Italy and Israel promoted by MIUR\, Fondazione Flavio Vespasiano\, and the Municipality of Rieti. \nIn 2012\, he was invited to create a new work for BalletX in Philadelphia and to develop Humanology – Site specific young project for Festival Oriente Occidente.
