SUMMARY:DéJà DONNé | INNPROGRESSCOLLECTIVE
\n  \nDéjà Donné \nThe contemporary dance company Déjà Donné was founded in 1997 in Prague; in 2000 the head office moved to Umbria where an intense activity of creation and circulation of shows began\, both in Italy and abroad. During the year 2015 a transformation takes place that starts a new path of the company\, imagined by the artistic direction of Virginia Spallarossa and Gilles Toutevoix. \nTheir work intends to guide Déjà Donné towards new potentialities\, contributing to a deep renewal of sign and languages through the creation of their own shows. \nThe main activities of Déjà Donné include: creation and production of contemporary dance performances and shows; regional\, national and international distribution of the works produced; training activities for professionals and non-professionals; creation of projects aimed at promoting contemporary dance and training the public through the involvement of other artistic subjects\, in Italy and abroad. \nThe company’s works have been presented in 26 countries\, in North and South America\, in Asia and in Europe.\nDéjà Donné’s activity is supported by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and the Umbria Region. \nwww.dejadonne.com \nINC InNprogressCollective \nThe group was founded in 2006 following the creation of “HEIM”\, which will be the only overall winner of the International Dance Week in Spoleto\, attracting the interest of many professionals. The choreography Heim will be hosted in the largest Italian festivals\, including Amores (Bologna)\, Cross Roads (Florence)\, Giffoni Film Festival (Giffoni)\, Notte Bianca (Rome)\, Fringe Festival (Spoleto).\nHence the idea of creating a stable group of young artists\, promoters of new forms of contemporary street art\, urban dances and trends. \nProduction will follow: Departure (2007)\, Underskin (2008 – winner of the International Dance Week in Spoleto)\, Protest! (2009-2010 – winner of S.I.D. Spoleto\, LatinArte\, UISP prize\, Positano Leonide Massine prize)\, Oceania (2012 – in production with La- MaMa Umbria\, presented at LaMaMa Moves Festival at Ellen Stewart Theater in New York). \nIn 2015 the toPRAY production debuts at the 58th edition of the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto. Director Giuseppe Tornatore chooses the INC company for a dance scene from his film “La Corrispondenza”\, which will be released in cinemas in January 2016. \nCharacterized by a surprising young age and a strong artistic fellowship\, they are the supporters of an alliance\, where talents and skills are shared\, mixed and recomposed towards collective goals. Afshin Varjavandi’s productions dance and together with him they invent creations\, styling and concepts for performances\, installations and videos.\nFrom 2017 a collaboration with Déjà Donné was started as an associated production project. \nwww.innprogresscollective.com

SUMMARY:DéJà DONNé | INNPROGRESSCOLLECTIVE
DESCRIPTION:toPRAY\ntoPRAY is a show in which urban dances are mixed with contemporary gestures\, producing a dance out of the box\, out of time. The choreography draws on multicultural calligraphy\, resulting in a universal language: like the story of the human soul. \n  \nCredits \nChoreography Afshin Varjavandi\nDancers Luca Calderini\, Mattia Maiotti\, Jenny Mattaioli\, Elia Pangaro\nLighting design Fabio Galeotti\nSound design Angelo Benedetti\nProduction Déjà Donné  \nInsights \n“He who knows the power of dance dwells in God.” Rumi \nThere is also a constant that we call T\, for which that moment is intimate and individual\, referring to the individual\, not multipliable and not handed down. It is only one’s own eyes that exercise that vision. The constant T is a transcendent number. toPRAY does not speak of the constant T\, but tells of the point of view from which one observes. toPRAY is a corridor: sometimes to reach the human soul the path is long and narrow. Other times contemporary man does not find the time to choose complex roads\, to cross them the time he takes corresponds to the constant T. We cross the symbols that in history we have attributed to what we cannot see\, to give life a different value\, to recognize beyond the FORM a different level. \nWhat does it mean to ‘pray’? We look for an answer in each ACTION. Perhaps acting itself is an act of worship: contemporary man acts on the body\, drawing a cult from it. We always look for an answer\, asking ourselves if in the end we are a soul that possesses a body. If what we have most sacred is the imagination through which we will be able to identify the soul in the course of life. \ntoPRAY is a show in which urban dances are mixed with contemporary gestures\, producing a dance out of the box\, out of time. The choreographic writing draws from multicultural calligraphy\, resulting in a universal language: like the story of the soul of man. toPRAY is a human path built and lived with ups and downs\, similar to the path of growth of a man. We dancers were asked more questions\, to which we answered with gestures and movements; they were questions that contained complex\, personal concepts. But in addition to the intense emotional value of personal moments\, in the beginning\, there is a particular intimacy between us dancers on stage and the choreographer\, in moments of extreme choreographic rigor\, which is characterized by the show throughout its duration. \n \nDéjà Donné \nThe contemporary dance company Déjà Donné was founded in 1997 in Prague; in 2000 the head office moved to Umbria where an intense activity of creation and circulation of shows began\, both in Italy and abroad. \nCREDITS \nConcept Michele Merola and Cristina Spelti\nChoreography Michele Merola\nMusic Igor Stravinskij\, Stefano Corrias\nSet and lighting design Cristina Spelti\nCostume design Patricia Villirillo\nPerformers MM Contemporary Dance Company (9 danzatori)\nProduction MM Contemporary Dance Company\n \nINSIGHTS \nThe first performance of the ballet Pulcinella was at the Paris Opera in 1920\, by Djagilev’s Ballets Russes; the music\, by Igor Stravinskij\, was inspired by pages by G. B. Pergolesi and other authors of the 17th and 18th centuries. The composer gives his own sign to the dancing pages in themselves\, like so much music of the 18th century: in tune with the subject\, he makes a gentle caricature of it\, celebrated for the richness of its rhythms and the freshness of its harmonies\, exalted by Leonide Massine\, choreographer\, and Pablo Picasso\, for his scenes and costumes. \nIn creating his own version\, Michele Merola respects the past\, and the great masterpieces produced on the subject\, but moves on his own path. The soundtrack is composed of some pieces of the ballet and the “excursions” made by the composer Stefano Corrias. The contamination of the original score is dictated by the need to have more intimate moments\, more bare from the musical point of view\, to be able to clarify who is really Pulcinella: the choreographer wanted to highlight in this work the solitary\, melancholy and dramatic side of the Neapolitan standard bearer. \n“Pulcinella – says the choreographer – is a person\, is an image\, is a thought of loneliness. It is a thought that never dies\, in fact in choreography this character seems to die several times\, but then always rises\, a sign of his continuous possibility of rebirth\, because the freedom that Punchinello carries within him\, all that is new\, all that is freedom\, all that is truth could be suffocated\, but always comes back to life.” \nIn the predominant black and white of the costumes and the scene\, only a hint of red appears: it is Pulcinella\, whose heart beats beyond any attempt to make him die\, and continues to pulsate\, for better or for worse\, in black and white. What remains\, in this ballet\, of its first edition? Once the story has been reduced to the essential\, and the accessory characters have been eliminated\, Pimpinella\, the young girl loved by Pulcinella\, the Wizard\, who uses light as a guide to find a way out in the course of history\, and the two couples of lovers remain. The choreographer did not want to follow the plot built in 1920\, but focuses on the personality of the protagonist and the main events that revolve around him: his love for Pimpinella\, the alleged death\, the ending\, a symbol of rebirth. \n“The final scene – says Merola – in which Punchinello once again wears his hat\, which he often has inside the show\, but which he often takes off to be similar to the rest of society\, symbolizes his choice: he realizes that being as society would like takes him nowhere\, and then chooses to be himself\, chooses the truth.” \nMM CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY \nMM Contemporary Dance Company is a contemporary dance company directed by choreographer Michele Merola\, founded in 1999 as a center of production of events and shows and as a promoter of exhibitions and workshops with the aim of encouraging exchanges and alliances between Italian and international artists\, witnesses and spokesmen of contemporary culture.\nThe company’s repertoire\, based in Reggio Emilia\, is rich and varied\, thanks to the works of Michele Merola and the creations signed by European and Italian choreographers such as Mats Ek\, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano\, Karl Alfred Schreiner\, Emanuele Soavi\, Enrico Morelli. \nIn 2010 the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the prestigious Dance & Dance Award as the best emerging company and today\, it is\, to all intents and purposes\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of shows throughout the country. For some years now it has conquered an international market with shows in European and non-European countries (Korea\, Colombia\, Canada\, Germany\, Russia\, Morocco…).\nIn 2017 MM Contemporary Dance Company won the Premio Europaindanza 2017 – Premio al Merito alla choreografia\, for the show Bolero by Michele Merola.\nFor the three-year period 2018-20\, MM Contemporary Dance Company is an associate company of the InDanza Circuit of Trentino Alto Adige. \nMMCDC is supported by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities\, Emilia-Romagna Region\, Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto\, Teatro Asioli di Correggio\, ASD Progetto Danza. In the company of his brothers. \nIf it is true that Thumbelyn is only thinking\, it is equally true that\, in his estrangement from home\, he alone is not. The presence of the brothers is warm\, in the darkness and cold of the night. Even in dramatic moments there is someone to play with\, to argue with\, to face the unknown.\nA show dedicated to all the little thumbs that\, lightly\, cross the woods of the world. Even those devastated by bombs. \nThe show is performed by an actor-narrator who lives and tells the story\, evoking it and relating\, sometimes directly to the public. The narration and the relationship with the spectators are ironic\, comical\, sometimes in a popular style\, with frequent dialectal brackets in a dialogue free from the rhythms of Romagna. The props and the writing of the space offer an example of “theatre of narration with objects”\, characteristic of the historical collaboration between Claudio Casadio and Marcello Chiarenza. \nThe work offers many points for reflection and study: from the point of view of the classic fairy tale (the role of the protagonist\, the forest as total space\, the homes of parents and the Orc\, the topos of abandonment and devouring\, the final catharsis and the positive solution of the story)\, from the point of view of language and from the psychological in the relationship of the story with the existential experience of children and their ability to “save” themselves. \n  \nACCADEMIA PERDUTA | ROMAGNA TEATRI \nAccademia Perduta | Romagna Teatri\, formerly a stable theatre of innovation\, today recognized by MiBAC as a Centre for experimental theatre production and theatre for children and youth\, was founded in 1982 as a theatre company for young people on the initiative of a group of actors (Ruggero Sintoni and Claudio Casadio). \nIt presents itself as a “private network” with a public vocation for production\, programming\, training\, research and theatre design in partnership with other companies from Emilia-Romagna (Cà Luogo D’Arte\, Il Baule Volante\, Tanti Così Progetti) and with the local authorities of the Romagna territory: the peculiarity that characterizes this network is the creation and development of “new” publics. From Combustioni\, a show created to celebrate the reopening of the Teatro Continuo in Burri\, to Luminare Minus\, commissioned by the Science Museum of Milan\, to continue with Funambolia\, which inaugurates the dance season of the Teatro Gerolamo in 2017.\nThen again Hopper Variations\, En écoutant du Schumann\, on stage at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow\, Balthus and Variations for Five\, the latter programmed at the Al Bustan festival in Beirut in 2019. Different contexts and creative impulses\, for a single creative vocation. \nIn retracing her choreographic work since 2004\, Shortcut does not choose the path of chronological exhibition\, but creates a narrative based on affinity; the same that links the choreographer to the beautiful music specially written by the composer Giampaolo Testoni. Each extract from the main works is mirrored in the next\, following a reasoned thread. \nEmanuela Tagliavia \nDancer and choreographer\, she trained in Italy and then perfected her skills in contemporary dance in France. Her works have been performed in some of the most important theatres and festivals in Italy and abroad (Teatro alla Scala in Milan\, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome and Teatro Bolshoi in Moscow\, Piccolo Teatro and Teatro Strehler in Milan\, to name a few). In recent years he has worked with Gabriele Salvatores for the production of La Gazza Ladra (Milan\, Teatro alla Scala\, 2017) and with Liliana Cavani for the staging of Alì Baba e i Quaranta Ladroni (Milan\, Teatro alla Scala\, 2018). In 2019 he curated the Gala di Danza organized by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto at Teatro Diego Fabbri in Forlì. She created the choreographic movements of the show Qohelet\, which was staged with great success at the Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan (February 2019); she participated in the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut\, with young dancers from the Scuola di Ballo Accademia Teatro alla Scala. In the summer of 2019 he created the choreography for the Dolce & Gabbana AltaSartoria event held in Sciacca\, Sicily. In September his choreographies were the protagonists of the opening show of the 24th World Energy Forum held in Abu Dhabi. Numerous are the awards and recognitions to his career and his creations. She is artistic director of the contemporary dance festival “Pulchra minima” at the Teatro Gerolamo in Milan.\nSince 1999 Emanuela Tagliavia has taught contemporary dance at the Dance School of the Accademia delle Arti e Mestieri of the Teatro alla Scala. Since 2007 she has taught at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi.

SUMMARY:Repeat / Harleking

HARLEKING’s mode of communication has a specific hypnotic quality in which its contents\, often extreme and contradictory\, merge to create a fluid\, metamorphic system wherein anything can happen\, yet all is blurred. It is reminiscent of the Grotesques\, ancient wall decorations\, in which monstrous figures emerge and blend in with elegant ornamental volutes.\nFigures\, which\, although can evoke amusement\, do not elicit any joy. \nThe work premiered in July 2018 in the frame of Open Spaces Sommer Tanz at Tanzfabrik Berlin and it has been presented among several European dance festivals and theatres. In 2019 it has been selected by the Aerowaves Twenty19 for the Spring Forward 2019 and the New Italian Dance (NID) Platform. \npanzettiticconi.com \n

SUMMARY:Present Continuous - open rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL_SALVO LOMBARDO\nBetween parody and attempt to bring on stage those dances really contemporary and anthropological as the latest generation disco dance\, Salvo Lombardo photographs a moment of extreme topicality\, a youthful and alienating nocturnal excerpt\, creating a funny but deeply tragic documentary in which the human seems to cancel itself to the rhythm of digital beats. (Benedetta Colasanti – Recensito) \nSalvo Lombardo \nSalvo Lombardo is an italian perfomer\, coreographer and director who bases his work on a constant research of a relation between theatre\, dance and visual art. He lives and works in Rome. He is the artistic director of the Chiasma Company whose works were presented in the main Festivals and Theatres in Italy. \nIn 2015-2016 he was resident choreographer at Anghiari Dance Hub where he worked at the project “Casual Bystanders” based on a choreographic pattern representing an archive of “not-extraordinary” gestures proceeding from kinetic fragments of common people observed in public places. From 2016 till today Salvo Lombardo is supported by the Festival Fabbrica Europa that produces many of his dance pieces. From 2017 he is one of the associated artists of the Festival Oriente Occidente\, the principal co-producer of the performance “Present Continuous” inspired by a memory system of gestures which stem from a night’s work at a music club and also the interactive installation in augmented reality titled “Reappearances” conceived for the MART Museum of Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto\, involving the participation of the local community. \nIn 2017 he is guest choreographer at Aura Dance Theatre of Kaunas (LIT) for which he conceived the performance “Twister” studying the relationship between gestures memory\, play and sociality. In 2018 he worked on the project “L’Esemplare Capovolto”\, aims to generate a series of performative actions\, installations\, conferences\, workshops and the creation of the show “Excelsior”\, co-produced by the Théâtre National de Chaillot of Paris and the Romaeuropa Festival.\n \nsalvolombardo.org \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:PRESENT CONTINUOUS
DESCRIPTION:Between parody and attempt to bring on stage those dances really contemporary and anthropological as the latest generation disco dance\, Salvo Lombardo photographs a moment of extreme topicality\, a youthful and alienating nocturnal excerpt\, creating a funny but deeply tragic documentary in which the human seems to cancel itself to the rhythm of digital beats. (Benedetta Colasanti – Recensito) \nCredits \nConceived\, choreographed and directed by Salvo Lombardo\nPerformers Cesare Benedetti\, Lucia Cammalleri\, Daria Greco\, Salvo Lombardo\nCollaborating choreographer Daria Greco\nLighting design Loris Giancola\nSound design Fabrizio Alviti \nProduction Festival Oriente Occidente\nCo-producers Chiasma\, Versiliadanza\nWith the support of DiD Studio – Ariella Vidach AiEP\, Versilia Danza\, Anghiari Dance Hub\, Teatri di Vita\nSpecial thanks to Studio Azzurro – Area Ricerca Progressiva \nDuration 40′\nPremiere September 2017 – Festival Oriente Occidente\n \nINSIGHTS \nAfter having collected the movements and gestures of passersby with the project Casual Bystanders and developed game and social dynamic standards with the project Twister\, Salvo Lombardo continues with Present Continuous in his research into the relationship between memory\, perception and movement by observing real life. In this case\, the choreography is “derivative” once again and often calls upon “ready-made” gestures. \nThe performance is based on the shared memory of the same experience – an evening in a night club – during which\, performers observed and appropriated a system of postures\, motor-actions and relational means of those present. In every daily act we produce tracks that attest to our being in the world. We immortalise surrogates of reality\, bodiless mists\, which nail events to an eternal present\, spreading themselves on our behalf and reproducing a fixed condition that excludes any real relationship with their original subject. \nPresent Continuous simply seeks to mark the points of a choreographic narrative that has been developed on the basis of the negotiation of memory through the sharing of reproducible motor sequences. The memory of real movement intertwines with a subjective micro-narrative that reveals the emotional life of the performer in their attempt to reconfigure a shared memory of movement and the experience it created\, which\, exploding from its actual re-enactment\, leaves the “now” and becomes bounded to a future in the making. \nSalvo Lombardo \nSalvo Lombardo is an italian perfomer\, coreographer and director who bases his work on a constant research of a relation between theatre\, dance and visual art. \nFrom 2017 he is one of the associated artists of the Festival Oriente Occidente\, the principal co-producer of the performance “Present Continuous” inspired by a memory system of gestures which stem from a night’s work at a music club and also the interactive installation in augmented reality titled “Reappearances” conceived for the MART Museum of Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto\, involving the participation of the local community. \nIn 2017 he is guest choreographer at Aura Dance Theatre of Kaunas (LIT) for which he conceived the performance “Twister” studying the relationship between gestures memory\, play and sociality. In 2018 he worked on the project “L’Esemplare Capovolto”\, aims to generate a series of performative actions\, installations\, conferences\, workshops and the creation of the show “Excelsior”\, co-produced by the Théâtre National de Chaillot of Paris and the Romaeuropa Festival.\n \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Les Miserables - Open rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL_C&C Company\nLadies and Gentlemen! Consider the creature as God first made it; nothing\, just nothing. Add civilization and see what you’ve got: walks upright\, wears trousers and carries a cane. It’s all education\, he’s got animal brains\, or rather: brainy animality\, he’s not the pig-stupid sort like some people … The monkey’s already a soldier\, though that’s not saying much-the bottom-most species of human kind! \nWoyzeck – Georg Büchner \n  \nCANCELLED OPEN REHEARSAL\nFondazione Nazionale della Danza informs\, according to the DPCM of March 4th\, 2020\, on “Measures to combat and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus on the entire national territory”\, being evidently of absolute inapplicability the possibility to allow places of theatrical performance to respect the interpersonal distance of at least 1 meter\, the SUSPENSION until April 3rd of all activities scheduled in its spaces. \n  \nCredits \nChoreography: Carlo Massari\nDancers: Carlo Massari\, Alice Monti\, Stefano Roveda\, Nicola Stasi\nVocal Coaching: Chiara Osella \nProduction: C&C Company\nCo-production: Triangolo Scaleno/Glass Theatres; Festival Danza in Rete Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza; Festival Oriente Occidente/CID Centro Internazionale della Danza\nWith the support of Teatro Akropolis/Project CURA \nInsights \nA ruthless and immoral fresco on today\, a middle-class contemporary drama at times familiar\, resonates\, we are “involuntarily” complicit in it. An overview of stereotypes\, of already seen\, already said\, acted upon. The little theatre of human misery: body and voice at the service of a painful chorus that echoes “The Frogs” by Aristophanes\, or perhaps an operetta by Offenbach\, or the famous Brechtian “Opera”. Staticity and immobility in response to the imminent\, evident collapse (physical\, political\, social\, environmental…). We can’t do anything about it\, too late\, game over; we watch helplessly\, we take note of it\, we shrug\, sigh and turn around again. \nIn the question “what is happening around us?” lies the genesis of this creation: a deepening of the international current affairs and the search for connections between the present forms of protest – rarely based on the idea of human evolution and revolution – and the historical Enlightenment (enlightened) vision\, which puts Culture and Art at the centre of change.\nA creation that once again leads the Company to investigate contemporary social issues\, through an amphibious language of strong impact and a complex dramaturgical level in support of the work. \nC&C Company \nC&C Company was born from the union between Carlo Massari and Chiara Taviani\, performers with an eclectic background\, in the last decade on international stages as interpreters and creators of different companies. The debut of the first work in 2011: Corpo e Cultura (Body and Culture) immediately highlighted a strong vocation of the Company in search of a necessary physical language\, strongly dramaturgical\, in close relation with contemporary social issues. This was followed by the international debuts of: “Maria Addolorata”\, “Tristissimo” (AnticorpiXL)\, “012”\, “Peurbleue”\, “Don’t Be Afraid”\, “Dead Weight”\, “Beast Without Beauty”. They have received prestigious awards\, among them: “1st” Hiver Oclytes/Les Hivernales (F)\, “2nd” Hannover International Choreographers Competition (D)\, “2nd” Zawirowania Competition (PL)\, “Audience Award” Konzert Theater Berne (CH)\, “Finalist” Machol Shalem Dance Competition (I)\, “Special Mention” Premio Roma Danza (IT)\, “2nd” Corto in Danza (IT)\, Premio Palco Aperto (IT)\, “1st” E “Premio del Pubblico” CrashTest\, “1°” Premio Twain.\nIn these years\, in parallel with the production activity\, have taken life performative projects with public participation: ContaminAzioni\, SpringRoll (RomaEuropa ’16)\, Femminile Plurale. Currently the Company is engaged in the development of the extensive research “Beast Without Beauty”\, which sees within it the alternation of social projects and international co-productions.\nSince 2017 the artistic direction of the Company has been entrusted to Carlo Massari. \nceccompany.org

SUMMARY:UNDER THE FLESH
DESCRIPTION:Under the Flesh by Bassam Aboud Diab is a contemporary dance performance\, a personal reflection that investigates the way the human body reacts to situations of war and danger and how this survival instinct can be expressed in a dance with its own specific technique. \nThe performance is preceded by a speech with an expert on the relationship between dance and war. \nCANCELLED PERFORMANCE\nFondazione Nazionale della Danza informs\, according to the DPCM of March 4th\, 2020\, on “Measures to combat and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus on the entire national territory”\, being evidently of absolute inapplicability the possibility to allow places of theatrical performance to respect the interpersonal distance of at least 1 meter\, the SUSPENSION until April 3rd of all activities scheduled in its spaces. \nCredits \nChoreography and direction: Bassam Abou Diab\nPerformer: Bassam Abou Diab\, Ayman Sharaf El Dine and a translator\nMusic: Ayman Sharaf El Dine \nCo-produced by Maqamat Beit El Raqs\nDuration: 30′ \nInsights \nIn 1996 the war came back and it was a long time since I had met my friends\, the bombing. My friends this time were much more sophisticated and strong than previous times and it had been a long time since I had used the fall strategy. I took note of the change and elaborated the strategy again trying not to die. \nThe second strategy is to let your body go to the end\, you take advantage of the moment to go to the extreme part of your body / the extreme boundary of your body and avoid the danger. Actually it is not a strategy but I was trying to celebrate it because I got a new pair of shoes from European aid. The best part of a war are the gifts\, games and donations that we usually receive after every war but in that case my neighbor received more gifts because his parents died during the war. \nDuring the year 2000 I changed. New ideas in mind about the relationship between cultures\, the body\, death and rituals. My new strategy is to bring together traditions and identities to create a particular taste and a whole new meaning for existence. \nIn 2006 things got more difficult. I was forced to use a huge number of strategies to survive. Pain and death were just music to me. I think the time is over and you are thinking that I said a lot of stupid things but the most important thing is that you try to discover your own strategies. \nBassam Abou Diab \nBassam Abou Diab \nHe is an emerging choreographer from Beirut who has used the Moultaqa Leymoun platform to its full potential. His history and interest in theatre\, folklore and contemporary dance soon pushed him into the regional and international dance scene. He worked under the guidance of Omar Rajeh | Maqamat\, Gilles Jobin\, Damien Jalet\, Marco Cantalupo and other established artists. Cultural influences and adaptability create a captivating sense of wonder in his work. Bassam is an artist associated with Maqamat and is currently supported by Maqamat Beit El Raqs together with APAP for the APAP 2020 project. \n\n  \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Concerto Fisico
DESCRIPTION:Concerto Fisico è una partitura fisica e vocale che ripercorre e ridisegna la storia di Balletto Civile\, la storia della  compagnia nata all’interno dell’ex Ospedale Psichiatrico di Udine. \nCANCELLED PERFORMANCE\nCredits \nConcept and choreography Michela Lucenti\nCreated and performed by Michela Lucenti\nAssistant to the creation Maurizio Camilli\nLive sound design Tiziano Scali and Maurizio Camilli\nProduction Balletto Civile and Festival Resistere e Creare\nWith the support of UFO – UNIDENTIFIED ART RESIDENCES and MIBACT \nTo know you alive is to feel the planet crumble beneath you\, to soar kicking try to throw yourself off while you cling to the edge\, is to ride the planet like a log in the direction of the current\, screaming.\nAnne Dillard \nInsights \nI always sang in shows even when my dancing was furious. The body\, my gestures are the map of what I feel and singing is my vehicle to keep me alive. \nConcerto Fisico is a composition for physical and vocal instrument\, a twisted and crooked greatest hits that has nothing nostalgic to tell the story of a group through the stories it has become a vehicle. A juke-box that awakens the emotional accents of a memory that is still the present\, of how we transformed ourselves\, of the sand from which we emerged\, of the Creatures\, of the wooden horses built for Troy\, of the fire extinguishers thrown in the dark\, of the sea of milk where Woyzeck and Andres talk about the void\, of Desdemona’s desperate scream\, of what happened to Thebes\, of the Resistance\, of the struggle and of the Revolution\, of how in the end the Evil Lambs are all of us\, of the mirrored floor and an orange rope\, of the power and heavy coats of 1918\, of stuffed foxes and sexual seasons\, of death and a Brazilian with a green plume\, of a small white dog\, of taboos\, of plastic ducks and Kenyan acrobats\, of firemen and priests\, of an accident and a gas station\, of a radio and a city always on fire\, of why things happen. Then everything disappears\, sucked into the eyes\, as if it never existed. \nConcerto Fisico is a musical tale for actions that retraces and redraws the history of Balletto Civile\, that is\, my own\, the history of my company. It was founded during a long artistic residence inside the former Psychiatric Hospital of Udine\, one of the centres where Basaglia revolutionized the concept of madness. My art was born in that place\, isolated from the world and at the same time in the centre of its burning fire. \nMichela Lucenti \nBalletto Civile \nA nomadic group by definition\, animated by a strong ethical tension\, Balletto Civile was founded in 2003 by Michela Lucenti. The creative approach is a research based on movement that emerges from the deep scenic relationship between the artists. It works on a total language where theatre\, dance and original singing interact naturally. \nballettocivile.org \n\n

SUMMARY:Tempesta
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto\, after a long tour\, finally presents Tempesta in Reggio Emilia\, in its Fonderia. \n“Can one transfer into gesture and movement the writing so dense with narrative and meaning of this work? This is the challenge of the show. Very daring because the comparison is with a text that has a particular and absolute value throughout Shakespeare’s play. It is his last work and is considered as his spiritual testament\, a farewell to the theatre which not by chance presents on stage a creator of magic who\, as Strehler had well understood\, alludes to a creator of theatrical wonders.” Antonio Audino \nThanks to Giuseppe Spota‘s choreography and Giuliano Sangiorgi’s music you can live seventy minutes of magic. \nCANCELLED PERFORMANCE
