SUMMARY:Cani lunari - open session
DESCRIPTION:Francesco Marilungo’s Cani lunari is the opening event of the autumn edition of Danza in Fonderia.\n \nFrancesco Marilungo inaugurates Antologie. New Readings of the Body\, the Danza in Fonderia series\, with the open rehearsal of his latest work. Cani lunari reveals the first fragments of his new creation. Inspired by a rare lunar optical phenomenon and steeped in ancestral symbols\, the piece delves into the imagery of the witch\, the healer\, the sorceress: figures on the margins of society\, suspended between fear and desire\, science and magic\, exclusion and power. \nhttps://vimeo.com/1048362306 \nCredits \nChoreography and Direction: Francesco MarilungoWith: Vera Di Lecce\, Barbara Novati\, Roberta Racis\, Alice Raffaelli\, Francesca Linnea UgoliniCostumes: Lessico FamiliareMusic and Vocal Coaching: Vera Di LecceLighting Design: Gianni StaropoliPhotography and Video: Luca Del Pia \n \nProduction: Körper | National Dance Production CentreCo-production: SNAPORAZVEREIN\, IRA Institute \n \nWith the support of ResiDance – an initiative of the Anticorpi XL Network\,Tuscany Residency Centre (Fondazione Armunia Castiglioncello – CapoTrave/Kilowatt Sansepolcro)\,AMAT – Associazione Marchigiana per le Attività Teatrali\,Consorzio PUGLIA CULTURE – Regional Consortium for Arts and Culture\,in collaboration with Associazione Menhir / festival LE DANZATRICI en plein air in Ruvo di Puglia and Ass. Atmospheric phenomena that folk tradition once read as omens of storms\, but also as signals of transition—visual thresholds into the invisible. \nCANI LUNARI is a choreographic project that crosses these thresholds and immerses itself in an imaginary rooted in the archaic feminine\, in magical knowledge\, in ecstatic bodies. A sensitive inquiry into the figure of the witch\, the healer: not as folkloric residue or demonized stereotype\, but as the emblem of marginal yet powerful knowledge\, resisting the logic of utility and visibility.\n \nThrough a process of research combining archival materials\, oral testimonies\, folkloric iconographies\, and bodily practices\, CANI LUNARI builds a performative rite in which the body dances trance\, ecstasy\, metamorphosis. The performers\, holding taxidermy crows—souls released\, spirit animals\, threshold guides—enact gestures suspended between ritual and fiction\, magic and theatrical play. Movement feeds on fragmentations\, limps\, archaic gestures\, and sudden slips into animality\, evoking a world where the boundary between human and beyond-human is porous and mutable. The body moves “above water and above wind\,” echoing ancient formulas that still resonate in some Italian territories at the margins. \n \nAt the heart of the project lies a reflection on the hysterical body\, a feminine site of crisis and enigma\, historically linked to the figure of the witch and to states of possession. The 19th-century photographs of the Salpêtrière become symbolic material to embody: bodies out of control\, traversed by the invisible\, performing a different kind of knowledge. The witch’s body becomes a threshold-organism between dimensions—as John Cotta once wrote\, “not a traveler between worlds\, but the site of encounter between different spheres of being.” \n \nCANI LUNARI recalls a knowledge that is both political and sensorial\, an embodied epistemology. The soul—bird or breath—leaves the mouth\, flies\, detaches\, and then returns to the body. As in the confessions extorted from persecuted women—often visionaries\, storytellers\, healers—the body becomes narrative\, ritual of healing\, exercise in survival. The soundscape\, created by Vera Di Lecce\, interweaves electronics and natural sound\, oral chants and magical formulas\, in a score suspended between the earthly and the divine. \nCANI LUNARI is a crossing\, a white sabbath\, a collective ritual to re-enchant the world.\n \nFrancesco Marilungo \nAfter studying Engineering and conducting research at the Von Karman Institute in Brussels\, Francesco Marilungo attended the Theatre-Dance Atelier at Paolo Grassi in Milan. Since 2010\, he has worked with internationally renowned choreographers such as Julie Anne Stanzak\, Masaki Iwana\, Yasmine Hugonnet\, Jan Fabre\, and Romeo Castellucci. Over the years\, he has performed for Enzo Cosimi\, Antonio Marras\, and Alessandro Sciarroni. He then began his own artistic path\, seeking a personal language at the intersection of performance\, dance\, and visual arts. \n \nParadise\, winner of the NEXT 2015/2016 call in Lombardy\, was selected by Anticorpi XL for the 2016 Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore. Love Souvenir (2018) won the Inteatro Festival call and the Lombardy NEXT 2017/2018 call. With Party Girl\, he received the Prospettiva Danza Award 2020 and the Cross Award 2020\, and was selected for the Nid Platform 2021. Stuporosa premiered at Short Theatre Rome in September 2023 and began an international tour. In 2024\, Stuporosa was presented at the Nid Platform in the programming section and won the 2024 UBU Award for Best Dance Performance. \n \nHis new project\, Cani Lunari\, winner of the Premio CollaborAction – Anticorpi XL Network\, will premiere in September 2025. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS\nFull price: €3Free admission: under 6 \n \nTICKET PURCHASE \n \nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspxFonderia Box Office: opens one hour before the performance (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia). \n \nTickets are unreserved (general admission). \n \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \n \nPhone & WhatsApp: +39 334 1023554Email: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:STABAT MATER - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:The Compagnia Artemis Danza / Monica Casadei offers the audience at the Fonderia something unique\, opening the doors to the creative process of its new production Stabat Mater\, which will premiere at the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro on March 14. \nSTABAT MATER \nChoreography\, direction\, sets\, lights\, and costumes Monica Casadei\nMusic Gioachino Rossini\nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza/Monica Casadei\nIn collaboration with AMAT and Teatro Rossini di Pesaro\nWith the contribution of Ministry of Culture\, Regione Emilia-Romagna – Department of Culture\, Municipality of Parma \nThe creation\, signed by the choreographer from Ferrara Monica Casadei\, is dedicated to Gioachino Rossini’s Stabat Mater; a choral tribute to the soul of women\, to their universal love\, embodied by the mother par excellence. The performance represents the evolution of a multi-year research journey that the choreographer has dedicated to the encounter between dance and religious music.\nStabat Mater is a collective prayer\, timeless and universal\, for a mater dolorosa\, a woman’s heart broken by pain\, a mater lacrimosa that crystallizes in the moment of lament the tragedy of losing a child. \nThe body becomes the medium to tell the emotional experience of those facing the transformation of the primordial bond between mother and child. The performance becomes a cry and a whisper\, noise and silence\, giving voice to a love that transcends loss and never ceases to illuminate\, even in the darkest moments. \nStabat Mater offers a profound and moving fresco of maternity\, in a deep and lyrical tension between pain and hope\, making the mother’s suffering a universal symbol of empathy and resilience. \nThe power of Rossini’s composition plays a crucial role in conveying the emotional intensity of the text\, while the dynamic music elevates the narrative from lament to a song of hope. \nMONICA CASADEI \nOriginally from Ferrara and holding a degree in Philosophy with honors with a thesis on Plato and dance\, Monica Casadei\, after a competitive career in rhythmic gymnastics\, dedicated herself to the study of classical and modern dance\, first in Italy\, then in London\, and finally in Paris where she met choreographers Pierre Doussaint and Isabelle Doubouloz\, as well as the master André Cognard Hanshi So shihan\, with whom she still practices the martial art of Aikido. In 1994\, she founded the company Artemis Danza in France\, and in 1997\, she moved to Italy\, where she began an intense production activity that\, to this day\, counts over fifty original creations. From 1998 to 2007\, the company was in residence at the Fondazione Teatro Due in Parma\, while from 2014 to 2018\, it was in artistic residence at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Fundamental to Monica Casadei’s artistic research were her encounters with Federico Fellini\, her investigation into the great lyrical tradition with performances such as Il Barbiere di Siviglia and the series of works dedicated to the heroines of opera reinterpreted in a contemporary key (such as Traviata\, Tosca X\, Carmen K\, Butterfly – Colori Proibiti\, Private Callas\, Puccini’s Opera.Voci di Donne). The productions of Artemis Danza are characterized by their fusion with different artistic\, cultural\, and geographical realms\, as well as the exploration of urban spaces that become the stage for performative actions. Alongside its production activity\, Artemis supports\, produces\, and promotes young authors and carries out numerous activities to educate the public. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \n3 euros \nFree for children under 6 \nTICKET PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nBox office at Fonderia: The box office opens half an hour before the show starts (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia).\n\nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \nCell and WhatsApp: 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Strangers in the Night - open rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:The choreographer Carlo Massari and his company C&C Company return to Fonderia with a new ironic and tragicomic choreography\, Strangers in the Night. \nTuesday\, December 17 at 6:00 PM open rehearsal \nTuesday\, December 17 at 8:30 PM performance \n\nCredits \nIdea and project Carlo Massari \nCo-created and performed by Jos Baker\, Linus Jansner\, Carlo Massari \nIn collaboration with Martina La Ragione\, Chiara Osella \nMusic and sound composition Andreas Moulin \nScript Jos Baker \nTech direction Francesco Massari \nCostume design Chiara Defant \nA production C&C Company \nIn co-production with Oriente Occidente\, Fondazione Nazionale della Danza Aterballetto\, Transart Festival \nSupported by ERT Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione / Teatro Nazionale – focus CARNE \nWith the contribution of Assessorato alla Cultura – Regione Emilia Romagna e MIC – Ministero della Cultura \nDiscover more \n“The old world is dying.\nThe new one is slow to appear.\nAnd in this light-dark\, monsters are born.”\nAntonio Gramsci \nA cross-disciplinary project inspired by Kafka’s The Metamorphosis\, delving deeply and ironically into the subtle line between reality and fiction\, honesty and role-playing\, concrete action and pantomime. How to survive emptiness\, oneself\, loneliness? \nDreamlike and subversively political\, Strangers in the Night aims to blend social realism with tragicomic writing\, opposing sentimentality and inviting the audience to reflect on the present through dark and biting humor. A meta-theatrical exploration\, breaking the fourth wall and involving the audience in an escalation of madness\, violence\, and irony… \nSeriously ironic\, the compositional poetics employs the language of defeat to speak of hope\, decay awaiting rebirth\, the fall preceding (perhaps) the desired ascent. \nThe new co-creation signed by Jos Baker\, Linus Jansner and Carlo Massari is part of the research journey on Metamorphoses and marks an important step towards the affirmation of the C&C Company’s distinctive compositional style. \n \nC&C Company \nC&C\, directed by Carlo Massari\, identifies itself as a project dedicated to the creation and development of an evolving artistic language\, aimed at a physical and dramaturgical investigation. It seeks to convey and share energy and creativity in the most direct\, clear\, and real manner possible\, closely related to the pressing contemporary social issues. Characterized by constant and unembellished work\, C&C focuses on the depth of interpersonal relationships with the goal of bringing truth to the stage through a deeply physical language that allows the audience to feel represented within its universality. \nFounded in 2011\, the Company has shown from the start a strong inclination towards hybridization and the transversality in the use of dance in relation to other contemporary performative codes\, establishing and solidifying itself today as a “Amphibian” creative identity. \nAmong its numerous productions\, the most recent include: Beast without Beauty\, Les Miserables\, A Peso Morto\, RIGHT\, Metamorphosis… which have received significant recognition and international tours. The company frequently creates works involving community engagement\, establishing a dialogue that enhances the artistic project: a search for relational truth that characterizes the company’s poetics and is combined with a total imaginative openness capable of bringing the audience closer to the theatrical experience. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \nFull Price: 3 euros \nUnder 8: free \nHOW TO PURCHASE TICKETS \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nBox Office at Fonderia: the box office opens one hour before the start of the performance (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia).\n\nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACT FOR RESERVATIONS \nCell and WhatsApp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Open rehearsal - Artemis Next Generation
DESCRIPTION:A night dedicated to emerging choreographers under 35. \nThe new creation by Davide Tagliavini\, That’s all\, is followed by OPERA DRAMA_EXCERPT by Monica Casadei. The evening concludes with Akmé by La casa oscura\, a young emerging company directed by Sabino Barbieri and Núria Argilés. \nWednesday\, December 11 at 18:00 open rehearsal \nWednesday\, December 11 at 20:30 performance \nAkmé \nDirection and choreography: Sabino Barbieri and Núria Argilés\nPerformers: Sabino Barbieri and Núria Argilés\nDramaturgy: Sabino Barbieri\nMusic composition and editing: Leonardo Carletti\nPhotography: Dimitrios Klingopoulos\nTranslation: Sophie Smith \nCo-production: Compagnia Artemis Danza\, Festival Internazionale di Danza Acqui in Palcoscenico BEinSIDE \nAkmé is a piece of contemporary dance performed by two dancers who convey sensations close to the limit. They use their bodies to create images open to the viewer’s interpretation.\nAn inspiring choreography that immerses you in the world of relationships\, both the one you share with another person and the one you have with yourself. \nThe original word Akmé\, which comes from Greek\, signifies the point of greatest intensity\, of highest splendor. \nCan you recall a situation in which you experienced the highest intensity? \nhttps://youtu.be/gFb2j7F84UY?feature=shared \nThat's all \nChoreography\, concept\, and performance by Davide Tagliavini \nSound design by Emanuele Nanni \nArtistic consultancy by Anna Albertarelli\, Monica Barone\, Rosa Maria Rizzi \nProduced by Compagnia Artemis Danza \nCo-produced by Artisti Associati – Centro di Produzione Teatrale \nWith the support of Ministry of Culture\, Emilia-Romagna Region – Department of Culture \nDuration: 25 minutes \nThat’s all: it’s everything. \nIt could be a surrender\, a farewell\, or the beginning of a new act about to start. In a wunderkammer full of gestures and dances\, we find wonder and irony\, body and voice\, sounds\, and characters that appear only to dissolve. Here\, a series of events emerge and vanish\, making space for one another. Starting from themes such as meditation and the emergence of unconscious parts\, the performer articulates the action\, following a flow and rhythmic crescendo that leads him through a small odyssey filled with unexpected situations. Physicality\, changes in state and color\, ignite a play of sparks and invitations\, open to transformation and unpredictability. \n“One thing is certain: time is long\, in these conditions\, and it drives us to fill it with movements that may seem reasonable at first glance\, but to which we are accustomed. You will tell me that it is to prevent our reason from sinking. Agreed. But isn’t it already soaring in the absolute night of the great abysses\, that’s what I sometimes wonder. Are you following me?” \n“Waiting for Godot” by Samuel Beckett \nOPERA DRAMA_ESTRATTO \nChoreography\, direction\, set design\, lighting\, and costumes Monica Casadei \nOriginal music and musical arrangements Fabio Fiandrini \nPerformers Michelle Atoe\, Chiara Falzone\, Costanza Leporatti\, Minami Michiwaki \nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza \nDuration 7 minutes \nARTISTS \nSabino Barbieri\, born in Caracas (January 15\, 1997) and residing in Modena\, has a background as a theater director from UNEARTE in Venezuela. SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - SEMA
DESCRIPTION:Semâ\, the name of the whirling dance of the dervishes\, gives the title to this production by the Compagnie Linga. \nChoreographers Katarzyna Gdaniec and Marco Cantalupo along with composer Mathias Delplanque and percussionist Philippe Foch play with the alchemy that is created through unprecedented artistic encounters\, and with the living\, ever-evolving interdependence between the dancer and the musician\, the melody and the gesture\, which mutually nourish each other in the flow of movement. \nOpen rehearsal at 18:00 \nShow at 20:30 \n\nCredits \nIdea and choreography: Katarzyna Gdaniec and Marco Cantalupo\nOriginal music: Mathias Delplanque\, Philippe Foch\nPerformers: Martin Angiuli\, Enzo Blond\, Bonni Bogya\, Aude-Marie Bouchard\, András Engelmann\, Lia Ujcic\, Csaba Varga\, Cindy Villemin\nLighting design: German Schwab\nCostumes: Geneviève Mathier\nA co-production: Compagnie Linga\, l’Octogone – Théâtre de Pully \nThis tour is supported by Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council and Corodis.\nCompagnie Linga benefits from a funding agreement with the City of Pully\, the City of Lausanne\, and the Canton of Vaud. \nDiscover more \nSemâ\, the latest creation from the Pully-based company\, is a hypnotic reminder of the ceaseless movement of human planets(…). Choreographers Katarzyna Gdaniec and Marco Cantalupo create a piece of trance and alliance for eight magnificent performers from the four corners of Europe(…). Semâ plunges us into the experience of the paradoxical nature of the circle\, inner and outer\, “the necessary intermediary between the Same and the Other\, the visible and the invisible”\, according to Plato. But it is also a timeless symbol of togetherness and uniqueness that has always fascinated Linga’s choreographers. \n \nIn just over an hour\, Semâ covers a range of movements\, from the organic to the more sophisticated\, such as a series of attitudes derived from genuflection. Regularly punctuating the piece\, it is above all the gyratory dance derived from that of the whirling dervishes – a form of active meditation\, of Sufi origin\, leading to ecstasy – that continues to fascinate (…). The whirling\, exultant bodies seduced the premiere audience\, who stood up to a standing ovation at the Octogone on Friday. \nExcerpts from Corinne Jaquiéry’s review\n24heures Lausanne\, 29.04.2023 \nCompagnie Linga \nIn 1992\, Katarzyna Gdaniec and Marco Cantalupo realized their desire for independence and creativity by founding Compagnie Linga (a symbol of fertility in Hinduism). With the support of the City of Pully\, the City of Lausanne\, the Canton of Vaud\, and Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council\, they became associated artists at the Octogone\, Théâtre de Pully/Lausanne (CH)\, where they have been in residence since 1993. They have developed a space dedicated to choreographic research\, staging a physical\, sensual\, and powerful dance that explores the influence of political and social situations on the body. \nCreating one or two productions per year\, they quickly established their repertoire on the Swiss and international scene\, becoming one of the most dynamic independent companies in the country. As such\, they are invited to the most important contemporary dance events. \nInternational collaborations: Opera of Lausanne\, Dresden\, Florence\, Ankara\, Mannheim National Theatre\, Portugal National Ballet\, Avenches Opera Festival\, TV ARTE\, WDR Orchestra. \nAwards: 2019\, Flow received the “Current Dance Works Award” at the Swiss Dance Awards 2019 (CH); 2017\, Katarzyna Gdaniec received the Polish Artist Prize (ZASP) and the Culture Award of the city of Gdansk (PL); 2015\, Danzatalenti Prize (Genoa\, IT); 2012\, Grand Prix de la Fondation Vaudoise pour la Culture; 2001\, Prix Jeunes Créateurs Danse from the Fondation Vaudoise for the promotion and creation of artistic works; 1995\, Choreography Contest Hannover (DE); 1995\, Léonide Massine Prize in Positano (IT). \nIn 2022\, Compagnie Linga celebrates its 30th anniversary. \nDiscover more

SUMMARY:Aria Tango...Bolero - Open rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:The Balletto di Milano\, directed by M° Carlo Pesta\, will perform for the first time on the Fonderia stage. \nFor this occasion\, an open rehearsal has been organized at 6:00 PM to get to know the company and the work of M° Carlo Pesta\, who will have a conversation with dance journalist and critic Raffaella Tramontano. \nAt 8:30 PM\, the evening will take place in two acts: Aria Tango by Micha van Hoecke\, restaged by Miki Matsuse\, and Bolero by Adriana Mortelliti. \n\nCredits \nARIA TANGO \nChoreography Micha van Hoecke\, restaged by Miki Matsuse\nMusic Luis Bacalov \nBOLERO \nChoreography Adriana Mortelliti\nMusic Maurice Ravel \nDancers of the Balletto di Milano: Alessandro Orlando\, principal and maître of the Company\, and Sofia Gironi\, Amanda Hall\, Annarita Maestri\, Sinthya Pezzoli\, Alessia Sasso\, Anthea Van Der Ham\, Giusy Villarà\, Kevin Alsina\, Anatole Blaineau\, Gianmarco Damiani\, Jack Farren\, Mattia Imperatore\, Leo Rech \nRead more \nUnforgettable and unforgettable artist\, Micha van Hoecke would have turned 80 on July 22\, 2024\, but he passed away in 2021\, leaving the dance world stunned and in shock. A towering personality in Italian dance\, where he had been living for over thirty years\, Micha van Hoecke is undoubtedly one of the figures who has left a mark. He is missed. Missed by the many friends. Missed by those who could appreciate his extraordinary human and artistic qualities. Missed by the audience who followed his works\, rich in sensitivity\, with passion and interest.\nA generous artist\, who loved theater and dance deeply\, to whom the Balletto di Milano dedicates this tribute on this special birthday by bringing back to the stage the creation Aria Tango. Restaged by his beloved wife\, the dancer Miki Matsuse\, Aria Tango (2013) is set to music by Oscar-winning composer Luis Bacalov. Strongly autobiographical\, the Choreographic Poem\, as Micha van Hoecke used to say\, is deeply rooted in the tango and gypsy culture so dear to the choreographer\, who\, without any didactic intent and in an atemporal\, surreal atmosphere\, tells of moods\, fears\, passions\, and emotions. \n \nIn the second part of the evening\, the emotions of Tango give way to those of Bolero\, in the exclusive version by Balletto di Milano of Adriana Mortelliti on the famous score by Maurice Ravel\, celebrating seduction. In the musical and choreographic crescendo\, sinuous bodies intertwine in a dance that culminates in a surprising finale. \nBalletto di Milano \nAmbassador of Italian dance around the world\, founded in 1980 and directed by Carlo Pesta since 1998\, it is one of the most prestigious Italian companies. Recognized and supported by the Ministry of Culture\, by the Lombardy Region\, which has also awarded it the prestigious Regional Relevance Recognition\, and by the Municipality of Milan\, the Balletto di Milano performs its activities in major Italian theaters and abroad\, where it is present in leading theaters and institutions. The Balletto di Milano is in residence at the Teatro Lirico Giorgio Gaber and boasts a roster of dancers who graduated from the best international academies and an extensive and exclusive repertoire ranging from revisited classical masterpieces to exclusive productions. \nDiscover more \n \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \nFull price: 3 euros \nFree for under 6 \nTICKET PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nFonderia Box Office: The box office opens one hour before the show (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia).\n\nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACT FOR BOOKINGS \nCell and WhatsApp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:EVES - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:EVES is a project that connects astronomy and contemporary dance with the aim of promoting both. \nCOMPAGNIA NATISCALZI DT \nCLAUDIA ROSSI VALLI\nTrained as a dancer at the Theatre-Dance course of the Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi in Milan. SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - 14.610
DESCRIPTION:PERFORMANCE POSTPONED TO NEXT SEASON\nThe title of the performance is 14.610\, a number that hints at something never explicitly mentioned. But it is a key\, like the code to a hotel room\, that allows easy entry into the show. It is a small and sophisticated puzzle to solve. The latest work by Claudia Catarzi has something intimate and shameless. \nOpen rehearsal Monday\, November 4 – 6:00 PM \nShow Tuesday\, November 5 – 8:30 PM \n\nCredits \nby and with Claudia Catarzi\nmusic by Julien Desprez\nscenography by Fabio Giommarelli \nco-produced by Company Blu\, La Manufacture – Centre de Développement Chorégraphique National Bordeaux Nouvelle-Aquitaine\, Armunia/Festival Inequilibrio/Centro di residenze artistiche Castiglioncello\, with the support of the Regione Toscana and the MiC \ncreated in 2023 \nDiscover more \nIt’s hard to describe the feeling of dancing almost three meters high on a surface so narrow it seems more like a pedestal than a platform. From the ground\, that is\, from the stage of the Teatro Rosignano Solvay\, where the show debuted for the Inequilibrio festival\, the latest work by Claudia Catarzi has something intimate and shameless. Shameless because the spectator\, compelled to keep their eyes upwards\, admires the technical skill\, explicit and evident\, of a figure that doesn’t perform acrobatics\, but nonetheless constructs a tense and sculptural choreography\, made of plastic poses\, clear and defined gestures\, even jumps. Although the tone is far from baroque – a certain austerity prevails\, though never frigid – there is something triumphant in this construction that resembles the base for a Renaissance equestrian statue. Indeed\, in the dramatic arc of the show\, the satisfaction of reaching the top is palpable. As if we were in the mountains. Looking down from above is satisfying\, but it also gives you chills. Not only because it’s easy to fall\, but perhaps because at some point from this peak\, the only thing left to do is descend. \n \nAnd this is the other intimate dimension that runs through the entire show and speaks to us of fragility and strength\, of change and resistance. The title of the show is 14.610\, a number that hints at something never explicitly mentioned. But it is a key\, like the code to a hotel room\, that allows easy entry into the show. It’s a small and sophisticated puzzle to solve. Not too difficult\, to be honest\, but we want to leave it unresolved\, so as not to spoil the pleasure of discovery. In the second part of the work\, the pedestal reveals itself as a steep slide\, and the descent becomes a sort of struggle; the muscular body strains to defeat the weight of gravity\, as in the whirls of some Giambologna statue. Even though the aesthetics are tied to a sober normality\, which makes the image even more intimate and common. About ten years ago\, Catarzi debuted in her solo 40\,000 Square Centimeters\, again a number for a title\, striking for presence and power in the small space drawn on the stage of only four square meters. Ten years later\, this space has shrunk but has risen into the air. Not a diving board to jump from\, but a mountain – like life – to embrace and climb. \n(Rodolfo Sacchettini – July 18\, 2023) \nCLAUDIA CATARZI \nAfter training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence\, she began her career working with the Micha Van Hoecke Ensemble. She later danced with companies such as Dorky Park Constanza Macras (Berlin)\, Compagnia Virgilio Sieni\, Aldes/Roberto Castello\, Company Blu/Alessandro Certini and Charlotte Zerbey\, En-Knap Group/Iztok Kovač (Ljubljana)\, László Hudi (J. Nadj – Budapest)\, among others. In 2009\, she was part of Choreoroam\, a research project by the Israeli choreographer Yasmeen Godder (Tel Aviv). She was later invited to follow the work of the Batsheva Dance Company by Ohad Naharin. She has collaborated with choreographer Ambra Senatore since the beginning of her company’s research work between Italy and France\, participating in all her early works. Since 2011\, she has been working on personal creations. The solo Arrivò senza colore won the co-production Sosta Palmizi\, and Un giorno\, a duo in collaboration with Mariano Nieddù\, was a finalist at the “Premio Equilibrio 2010” (directed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui). Her two latest creations see her sharing the stage for the first time with two female figures: Michal Mualem\, a historical dancer in Sasha Waltz’s company\, in A set of timings\, and Claudia Caldarano\, a former dancer of Virgilio Sieni\, in Posare il tempo. The live presence of musician Gianni Maestrucci in Posare il tempo – percussionist of the renowned group Tetraktis – transforms the danced duet into a trio. Claudia Catarzi is currently an associate artist at CDCN of Bordeaux\, La Manufacture | Bordeaux-Nouvelle Aquitaine. \nLearn more \n

SUMMARY:Open Rehearsal - Les Fleurs
DESCRIPTION:Let’s make these our flowers into a single bouquet\, something similar to a collection. The poems are communicating vessels\, like the characters in their monstrous solitudes\, they look at each other in a single magnificent cathedral that is existence. \nLes Fleurs by Balletto Civile is a show that\, taking up the well-known title of Charles Baudelaire’s work\, focuses on poetic language and its revolutionary impact on the contemporary body that becomes a political body\, in a vision of freedom and dialogue with civil society. \nOpen rehearsal at 6:00 PM \nShow at 8:30 PM \n\nCredits \nDirection and choreography: Michela Lucenti\non stage Maurizio Camilli\, Michela Lucenti\, Alessandro Pallecchi Arena\, Gianluca Pezzino\, Emanuela Serra\, Francesca Zaccaria\nDramaturgy: Maurizio Camilli\, Michela Lucenti\, Emanuela Serra\nSound design: Guido Affini\nLighting design: Stefano Mazzanti\nSpace consultancy: Alberto Favretto\nAssistant director: Giulia Spattini\nStage assistance: Jacopo Squizzato \nProduction: Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale\, Balletto Civile \nDiscover more \nCharles Baudelaire’s work in Les Fleurs du mal is a single\, great “perforated” story. A narrative of situations created through images\, with fractures\, holes\, and zones where each of us can find ourselves\, discovering common traits and shared vulnerabilities. The collection of poems speaks of the beauty of the imperfect bodies of characters on the fringes of society\, outcasts\, borderline individuals\, who become magnificent creatures through a new gaze. This aligns closely with the philosophy of Balletto Civile\, which has always crafted its works by lending bodies to a lyrical narration of protagonists who are anti-heroes. \nThe show\, endowed with a strong narrative rhythm determined by the poet’s texts and original writings\, stages a struggle between dance and the poetic act as a possible rewriting of the world. \n \nSix figures on stage represent the central themes: the poet\, beauty\, time\, boredom\, exile\, revolt\, the wound\, the city\, and finally\, poetry itself. \nThe scenic space\, bare and material\, welcomes the characters as in a single luminous and sonic installation\, where the bodies\, through geometries of existences on the margins\, produce strong\, overwhelming images that\, like cuts in a canvas\, seek to leave a graphic mark on the viewer’s retina. This is achieved through a language that is initially solitary and then shared\, confusing personal feelings with the community’s shared wounds. \nThe artist is able to see all that is wonderful but cannot avoid feeling the world’s terrors on their skin; we cannot hide from this risk. Baudelaire is the first contemporary poet who recorded on his skin not only the heights but also the sacrifice and pettiness to which the artist is subjected\, and he made this reflection a work of art. \nBalletto Civile \nA nomadic group by definition\, driven by a strong ethical tension\, Balletto Civile was founded in 2003 by Michela Lucenti. The creative approach is a research based on movement that emerges from the deep scenic relationship between the artists. It works on a total language where theater\, dance\, and original singing interact naturally. \nFind out more \n

SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - WAITING FOR NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, October 21 at 6:00 PM at Fonderia\, Waiting for Notte Morricone: an open rehearsal of the Aterballetto Company with choreographer Marcos Morau\, allowing the audience to experience the emotions before the indoor debut of Notte Morricone at Teatro Argentina in Rome\, where the show will be on stage from October 24 to November 10. \nOpen rehearsals are unique moments where you can witness the creation of a show\, interact with the artists\, and be amazed by the art of dance: a special opportunity that allows the audience to enter the daily routine of dancers and choreographers. \nCREDITS \nDirection and Choreography MARCOS MORAU\nMusic ENNIO MORRICONE\nMusical Direction and Adaptation by MAURIZIO BILLI\nSet and Lighting MARC SALICRÚ\nCostumes SILVIA DELAGNEAU \nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nCommission\, Co-production\, First Outdoor Performance Macerata Opera Festival\nCo-production\, First Indoor Performance Fondazione Teatro di Roma\nCo-productions Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia\, Centro Servizi Culturali Santa Chiara Trento\, Centro Teatrale Bresciano\nCo-production Ravenna Festival | Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini \nIndoor Premiere October 24 – November 10\, 2024\, Rome\, Teatro Argentina \nThe performances at Teatro Argentina are co-presented with Fondazione Teatro di Roma and Romaeuropa Festival \nEARLY SUGGESTIONS \n«People often ask me what music I listen to\, which music inspires or accompanies me in my daily life\, and I always answer the same way: from classical music to new contemporary waves\, I draw inspiration from many different sources\, and Ennio Morricone is always at the top of the list. \nMorricone’s music embodies that abstract sense of what is not said and not seen in films. Although it is almost impossible to separate his music from the images that accompany it\, Morricone transcends and intertwines with life itself\, with memories\, and with the beauty and cruelty of a world that continues to move forward\, destroying and rebuilding itself every day.\nHis music has a powerful melancholic quality that stems from both the contemplation of the past and the impossibility of capturing any past experience. \nWith classical training and avant-garde vocation\, Morricone was always beyond the trends of the moment. Today\, three years after his death\, Morricone continues to inspire artists and visionaries in various fields\, and his music belongs to an entire century and has revived many of our great masters.\nHis music was a genre unto itself\, and for this evening I would like to build a universe based on his sensitivity to confirm that his legacy is more alive than ever and that\, as he himself would say\, “my music has a life of its own\, which can live far from the films for which it was created.”» \n(Marcos Morau\, February 2023) \nMARCOS MORAU \nRecently appointed Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture and selected as the best choreographer of the year 2023 by the German magazine TANZ\, the career of Marcos Morau (Valencia 1982) continues to grow as a creator and stage director. \nTrained between Barcelona and New York\, in photography\, choreography\, and theater theory and dramaturgy\, Marcos Morau builds imaginary worlds and landscapes where image\, text\, movement\, music\, and space constitute a unique universe constantly nourished by cinema\, photography\, and literature. \nSince 2004\, Marcos has directed La Veronal\, a company present in the best theaters and festivals in over thirty countries: Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris\, the Venice Biennale\, the Festival d’Avignon\, Tanz Im August in Berlin\, the RomaEuropa Festival\, the SIDance Festival of Seoul\, Sadler’s Wells in London\, Danse Danse Montreal\, among many others. \nIn addition to his work with La Veronal\, Marcos Morau is an international guest artist in several companies and theaters where he develops new creations\, always halfway between the performing arts and dance: Nederlands Dans Theater\, Lyon Opera Ballet\, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens\, Royal Danish Ballet\, or The Royal Ballet of Flanders\, among others. \nAs the youngest creator to receive the National Dance Award\, the highest recognition in Spain\, the future of Morau and La Veronal aims at exploring new formats and languages where opera\, dance\, and physical theater dialogue more than ever\, seeking new ways of expressing and communicating in our present time\, always turbulent and constantly evolving. \nFrom this season\, he is an associate artist at the Staatsballett Berlin. \n“La Veronal is a reminder that dance is often at the forefront of the most innovative theater.” – The New York Times \n“Morau’s visual treatment is so brilliant\, so vividly strange\, that we get involved in what also turns out to be a story of transmission and emancipation.” – Le Monde \n“Morau\, one of the most interesting young choreographers on the contemporary dance scene.” – El País

SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:«”I\, Ennio Morricone\, am dead\,” wrote the composer before saying goodbye. His music\, on the other hand\, cannot do so. SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - Corpi violati #DjOperaNoir
DESCRIPTION:Translation leaving HTML code: \nIn CorpiViolati \, a community of bodies\, both feminine and masculine\, thrives\, thirteen in total\, bound by the memory of a wound. Whether still open or healed\, this wound reverberates on the stage in an incessant dance fueled by impulses\, instincts\, anger\, and pain\, where overwhelming group dances alternate with duets and solos\, and vulnerable bodies stand alongside violent and ruthless bodies of aggressors upon whom a veil of pity never descends\, at least until they themselves become victims. \nBorn from the search for testimonies of rape and abuse victims and from improvisational work in the studio with the dancers\, Monica Casadei constructs a performance oscillating between raw realism and poetry dictated by a possible redemption. At its core\, the victims\, too often blamed and cornered in the lengthy judicial processes faced to obtain justice\, inhabit a bare stage dominated by two defendant benches and a backdrop of gold and black damask. Antithetical colors – on one side\, the brilliance and light of gold; on the other\, the enigmatic darkness of black – create a precious tapestry of an imaginary domestic hearth where respect and love should reign. Musically\, the remixed electronic samples by Fiandrini ebb and flow within the story in melodrama and symphonic music. \n \n\n \nCREDITS \nChoreography\, direction\, set design\, lighting\, and costumes by Monica Casadei.\nLive Electronics by Fabio Fiandrini.\nProduction by Compagnia Artemis Danza/Monica Casadei.\nCo-produced with Festival di Danza Contemporanea Teatro Comunale di Ferrara.\nIn collaboration with Comune di Rimini and Teatro Galli.\nWith the support of Ministero della Cultura\, Regione Emilia Romagna\, and Comune di Parma. \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 3 euros \nPURCHASE TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket service at Fonderia is available from 5:00 PM. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nPhone and whatsapp: 3341023554 \nEmail: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - Puccini’s Opera. Voci di donne
DESCRIPTION: \nCompagnia Artemis Danza\, with this new creation by Monica Casadei\, dedicates its artistic project to the contemporary representation\, investigation\, and interpretation of four captivating heroines of the Lucchese composer: Tosca\, Madama Butterfly\, Mimì \, and Turandot. \nUnderstanding Puccini’s music involves analyzing its deep relationship with the female world. A clear message from the titles chosen for his most celebrated works: Tosca\, Butterfly\, Turandot\, La Bohème. A kaleidoscope of different personalities\, a universe full of facets\, sensitivities. In the four scenes that make up Puccini’s Opera\, recognizable even without any didactic necessity\, we find Casadei’s personal interpretation of the feminine theme\, placed at the center of a process of choreographic\, visual\, and musical reinterpretation. Tragic love\, thwarted and opposed love\, cruel love that annihilates\, the desire for possession that leads to destruction\, live in the faces\, bodies\, and gestures of the Company and continue to make us reflect on the relevance of stories that have moved audiences worldwide. The creation is permeated with a poignant atmosphere\, full of tension and poetic suggestion. \nAgainst Puccini’s orchestral score\, the electronic tracks of composers Luca Vianini and Fabio Fiandrini counterpose\, creating an enveloping and at times apocalyptic sound space. A choral dance\, swollen with impulses and passions\, instinctive and at times wild\, which makes a swirling use of space and appears\, also symbolically\, visually full: solos protected by frames of ensembles in a dynamic accelerated by propulsive forces make the drama and passions of the protagonists live in the body and guts. \n \n\n \nCREDITS \nChoreography\, direction\, set design\, lighting\, and costumes by Monica Casadei.\nMusic by Giacomo Puccini.\nMusical elaboration by Fabio Fiandrini. \nProduction by Compagnia Artemis Danza.\nCo-produced with Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Ferrara.\nWith the support of Ministero della Cultura\, Regione Emilia-Romagna – Assessorato alla Cultura\, Comune di Parma.

SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - THE RED SHOES
DESCRIPTION:Open rehearsal at 6:00 PM – Performance at 8:30 PM \nDancers from the Nuovo Balletto di Toscana present The Red Shoes\, choreographed by the award-winning German choreographer Philippe Kratz\, dedicated to the homonymous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. \nAs in the tale of the girl Karen and a pair of strange red shoes\, Andersen repeatedly challenges in his works the traditional dichotomy between subject and object. Kratz’s creation\, with music specially composed by Pierfrancesco Perrone\, addresses this strangely indissoluble bond\, which is not determined solely by functional utility or vain desire for possession but can also entail a loss of autonomy. The projections related to the desires that dominate our world of goods and consumption are also reflected by dividing the scenic space in two. In contrast to the fairy tale\, which ends with the violent liberation of the protagonist from the red shoes and her redemption\, Kratz’s choreography ultimately focuses on questioning the role of objects in interpersonal relationships. \nI don’t perceive Karen as disobedient or vain\, a perspective that is emphasized in the fairy tale. Nowadays\, we are so accustomed to consuming and often see products as a means to an end\, to get noticed by others\, to relate to others\, and to emphasize our individuality. Karen also tries to connect with others and find security through the red shoes. In this\, she fails miserably. Yet\, what she seeks corresponds to a desire that many of us probably know: to belong to a collective and yet remain an individual.\nPhilippe Kratz \n \n. \n \n \nCREDITS \nChoreography and set design: Philippe Kratz (Reggio Emilia/Leverkusen)\nDramaturgy: Sarah Ströbele (Leipzig/Magdeburg)\nMusic: Pierfrancesco Perrone\nLights: Giulia Maria Carlotta Pastore (Light Designer)\nCostumes: Grace Lyell (Paris)\nFirst Performance: October 19\, 2023\, Teatro Sociale Di Trento\nDuration: 60 Minutes\nPerformers: Nuovo Balletto Di Toscana\, 10 dancers (Florence) \nAUTHORS \nNUOVO BALLETTO DI TOSCANA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Nuovo Balletto Di Toscana is a strictly professional production structure\, founded in 2018 with a team of 10 dancers. The artistic program of the Florentine company\, thanks also to a team of renowned collaborators and authors alongside Cristina Bozzolini\, reflects a constant and coherent cultural line with the affirmation of the primacy of contemporary choreography and a plurality of expressive languages.\n\nFor several years\, it has had a consolidated relationship with the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino\, with the representation of full-length ballets\, such as Diego Tortelli’s La Bella Addormentata and Jiří Bubeníček’s Cenerentola\, as well as participating in some operas such as: Le Villi choreographed by Susanna Sastro\, Fernando Cortez choreographed by Alessio Maria Romano\, and Die Fledermaus choreographed by Karl Schreiner.\n\nAt the same time\, the company has been engaged in a new creation by Arianna Benedetti\, staging the show titled Pulcinella\, Uno di Noi\, winner in 2019 of the SIAE Per chi crea grant. The collaborations of the NBDT also extend to other prestigious Italian theaters including La Fenice in Venice and the Teatro Regio in Parma\, and it is currently continuing its tours in Italy and abroad with Jiri Bubenicek’s Cenerentola\, Michele Di Stefano’s Bayadère – il regno delle ombre (awarded the Danza&Danza prize as best Italian production of 2021)\, Mario Bermùdez Gil’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps\, and Philippe Kratz’s Midnight Youth.\n\n\n\n\nPHILIPPE KRATZ \nWinner of the 32nd International Choreography Competition in Hannover and Choreographer of the Year 2019 (Danza&Danza)\, Kratz is known for his diverse compositional language that combines contemporary dance with technical elements from hip hop and European classical dance. He recently presented his choreography ‘Solitude Sometimes’ at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan\, sharing the evening with acclaimed authors in theaters worldwide such as Jiří Kylián\, Nacho Duato\, David Dawson\, invited by the director of the La Scala ballet corps Manuel Legris. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nINFO & TICKETS\n“`html \nTICKETS\nFull price: three euros \nTICKET PURCHASE \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at Fonderia is active from 5:00 PM. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nPhone and WhatsApp: 3341023554 \nEmail: biglietteria@aterballetto.it \n“`

SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL -LENA
DESCRIPTION:Lena is a performance that arises from an investigation into the gesture of pushing\, understood as a multifaceted relational gesture. \nThe object to which this research refers is the swing: an object of ancestral simplicity of which we all know the sensation and condition. An object capable of providing us with a specific and exclusive dynamic of movement. Starting from these premises and from the investigation around the swing object\, of which the playful dimension is also mentioned\, the performance focuses on the search for that gray area between play and violence\, between playful and sadistic\, between joke and spite. The push\, in its repetition\, changes meaning\, unleashes different imaginaries\, acquires new values: it is a gesture that in the relational sphere often defines roles of power and strength. \nThis research aims to investigate the different meanings that this gesture carries with it\, encapsulating them\, showing them\, and transforming them through the repetition of a dynamic. In this physical dialogue\, a mechanism of pushed and pushing bodies is composed\, a human machine made of actions and reactions\, in which the intention behind the gesture is lost and confused. \n \nCREDITS \nThe research has developed through the exchange in the studio\, at different moments of the process\, with the performers Teodora Grano\, Chiara Luccisano\, Michael Incarbone\, Erica Bravini\, Daria Greco\, Elena Bastogi\, Luca Della CorteAnd with the Light Designer Francesco Tasselli \nPerformers Giulia Cannas\, Claudio Larena\, Marta Magini\nArtistic Consulting Sofia Naglieri\nSound Designer Lorenzo Minozzi\nLight Designer Francesco Tasselli \nProject supported by Artisti Associati; Associazione Culturale Chiasma; Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nAUTHORS \nCLAUDIO LARENA \nA young author and performer who explores the languages of installation\, dance\, and performance. After the studio debut of his first work at the RomaEuropaFestival 2020\, he continues his creative path with the conception of three new projects: -LENA; Le Spinte; Stiamo Lavorando per voi (ci scusiamo per il disagio). He trains by participating in workshops with national and international artists\, with particular attention to the performative field. His authorial projects always take different formats: urban performance and scenic writing; word performance and choreographic research. A craftsman by training\, he often questions the entity of objects\, their meanings\, and the physical\, historical\, or conceptual relationship that arises from our connection with them. \n \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: three euros \nTICKET PURCHASE \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at Fonderia is active from 5:00 PM. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nPhone and WhatsApp: 3341023554 \nEmail: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - FÀTICO
DESCRIPTION: \n\nThe show FÀTICO will be presented in its world premiere on the upcoming 18th of February\, by ORBITA|Spellbound in collaboration with Festival Equilibrio\, at the Teatro Palladium in Rome. \nFÀTICO is a choreographic and musical project in which singing and dancing mark the time of three prayers. On stage are two performers\, equipped with a microphone in contact with the skin\, an extension of the body\, a trigger point for the almost-physical relationship with the audience\, thanks to the instrument provided by vocal action. \nHere\, singing is not an act of spontaneity\, but the product of modification\, integration\, and enhancement of the encyclopedia of this corporeality. In the words that mark the timing of the choreography\, references to nature and the senses give space to memories in their mental space before melting into the words of worship. Progressing through connections and collisions between sonic and choreutic matters\, a secular discourse on sanctity is composed\, asking the audience to let themselves be directed by the fàtico listen! \nIt doesn’t come from nothing\, it’s the peak reached after a long climb.\nThe sight of the stars now that you know how to look. This show is a song\, the voice that persists.\nThe chorus murmured in the field when your hands are still dirty from working.\nFàtico is not just time passing\, it’s medicine.\nThe potion that exalts and condemns life.\nTo reinvent descent and legitimacy. Because a step was missing.\nFàtico is a rope\, a prosthesis\, an act\, that power that cannot be exploited.\nThat distance where we have never touched\, but almost. \n \nCREDITS \n“`html\nProject\, choreography\, vocal writing\, and performance Irene Russolillo\nSound creation\, vocal writing\, and performance Edoardo Sansonne/Kawabate\nLighting design and technical direction Valeria Foti\nCostume creation Marta Genovese\nPattern maker Sandra Barlocci\nCollaboration on vocal dramaturgy and vocal coaching Patrizia Rotonda \nTexts by Ladan Osman\, Adam Zagajewski\, Annamaria Ortese\, David Thoreau\, Irene Russolillo \nProduction by ORBITA|Spellbound – National Dance Production Center of RomeSupport for creative residencies by Cango – Centre of Relevant Interest for Dance Virgilio Sieni\, National Dance Foundation Aterballetto/National Choreographic Centerwith the support of TRAC – Theatres of Contemporary Artistic Residency in Puglia and in collaboration with SPINTIME labs \nDuration 45′\n“` \nAUTHORS \nIRENE RUSSOLILLO \nIrene Russolillo is a dancer\, vocalist\, performer\, and choreographer. SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - RUGGINE / PLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT
DESCRIPTION: \n\n \nOpen Rehearsal – 6:00 PM \nShow – 8:30 PM \n \nRust / Manfredi Perego \n“Self-portrait\nNoise grinds\nNatural within” \nRust is a reflection on the product of the antagonism between darkness and light in humans. Rust is a dramaturgical thought that deals with the dark\, unease\, caprice\,\nsuffering; observing these emotions and the actions they provoke without judgment. Rust is a dedication to the area that is usually hidden with great effort. The choreography does not generate an answer\, but rather creates a path that allows one to immerse and cross these moods and dissect them without prejudice. Like in a liberating dedication to the annoying part of ourselves\, the choreography outlines and crosses a sequence devoid of chronology\, an ideal representation of what is usually considered a flaw. \nPLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT / Balletto Teatro di Torino \n“The choreographic challenge is to give visual and dynamic concreteness to the emotion that each note expresses\, capturing the nuances of Bach’s music by translating into dance a process of emotional analysis of what the musical score suggests.\nThe violence and sweetness that arise from the vibration of the played notes must have a physical correspondence\, creating dances that traverse worlds of new carnal frequencies. The project starts from the need to challenge oneself with classical musical scores\, never tackled before\, to discover new approaches to choreography and open up to new dynamic visions. Studies on Bach will be a choreographic gym\, a mutable choreographic space\, which does not end its evolution. Live music stitches the dancer’s epidermis to the place\, bringing it to another level of interpretation and listening. At the same time\, the air moved by the bodies impacts the musicians\, making tangible the action of dance on the instrument.” – Manfredi Perego \n \nCREDITS \n“`html\nRUST \nChoreography/Dance by Manfredi Perego\nOriginal Music by Paolo Codognola\nLighting Design by Roberta Faiolo\nDuration 20 minutes\nA work produced by Tirdanza\, with the co-production of Milanoltre Festival\, in collaboration with Fondazione TeatroDue Parma\, Europa Teatri \nPLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT \nChoreography by Manfredi Perego\nDancers: Flavio Ferruzzi\, Lisa Mariani\, Luca Tomasoni\, Nadja Guesewell\, Viola Scaglione\nMusic by J.S. SUMMARY:Open Rehearsal - Secus
DESCRIPTION:Also this month\, the Fonderia opens its doors to an open rehearsal with the Aterballetto Company. \nOn Monday\, November 20th\, at 6:00 PM\, the audience can attend the rehearsal of Secus\, a choreography created by Ohad Naharin in 2019: one of those performances that is difficult to forget\, capable of uniquely highlighting the technical skills and expressiveness of dancers. \nThe creation boasts a musical collage ranging from the unusual electronic styles of AGF to the seductive Indian melodies of Kaho Naa Pyar Hai\, to the resonant harmonies of the Beach Boys. This adventurously eclectic mix takes shape before our eyes in the form of a human alphabet made of runs\, solos\, clean and precise gestures\, interrupted duets. Joy\, vulnerability\, fear\, innocence\, confusion\, and anger weave a harmonious and dynamic canvas that oscillates between delicacy and exaggeration. \nOpen rehearsals are unique moments where you can experience the backstage of a show\, interact with the artists\, and be amazed by the art of dance: a special opportunity that allows the audience to enter the daily routine of dancers and choreographers.

SUMMARY:Callas\, Callas\, Callas - open rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\nThe Fonderia’s 2023/24 season opens with CALLAS CALLAS CALLAS\, the new production by COB Compagnia Opus Ballet. \nThe evening pays homage to the great singer by bringing together for the first time three of the most interesting names in Italian auteur choreography\, Adriano Bolognino\, Carlo Massari and Roberto Tedesco (a former dancer of Aterballetto)\, in a contemporary and innovative interpretation of one of the most iconic personalities of the 20th century. \nEach choreographer brings to the stage a different aspect of the life and work of Maria Callas in a true “choreographic triptych”\, an unprecedented fresco in which biographical elements\, musical inspirations and iconography merge with contemporary dance in the creation of an original language. \nThe project ideally continues the artistic research path that the company has been pursuing for years and that sees contemporary dance dialoguing with classical stories and music\, considered “repertoire” that become fertile ground for the creation of something completely different. The classic becomes a key to the contemporary world\, with the aim of deconstructing and enriching the repertoire to speak of a lived reality\, tangible\, close to us. \nThe performance is on Wednesday 4 October at 8.30 p.m. \nCredits \nCALLAS\, CALLAS\, CALLAS\nChoreographies by Adriano Bolognino\, Carlo Massari and Roberto Tedesco\nA production COB Compagnia Opus Ballet\nIn co-production with Fondazione Festival La Versiliana \nArtistic direction Rosanna Brocanello\nArtistic advisor Laura Pulin\nLight designer Giacomo Ungari\nRepetiteur Giulia Orlando\nManagement Margherita Fantoni\nDiffusion Laura Montagna \nItalian premiere 12 July 2023\, Teatro “La Versiliana” (Marina di Pietrasanta) \n***\n/DIVINA \nChoreography Adriano Bolognino\nPerformers Giuliana Bonaffini\, Aura Calarco\, Sofia Galvan\, Ginevra Gioli\, Gaia Mondini\nChoreography Assistant Rosaria Di Maro\nMusic Vito Pizzo\nCostumes by Tns Brand \n/STANDPOINTS\nChoreography Roberto Tedesco\nPerformers Matheus Alves De Oliveira\, Giuliana Bonaffini\, Aura Calarco\, Emiliano Candiago\, Ginevra Gioli\, Gaia Mondini\, Riccardo Papa\, Frederic Zoungla\nMusic Giuseppe Villarosa\nCostumes by Opificio della Moda e del Costume \n/TOUJOURS LA MORT\nOriginal creation Carlo Massari\nPerformers Matheus Alves De Oliveira\, Aura Calarco\, Emiliano Candiago\, Riccardo Papa\, Frederic Zoungla\nMusical editing Luca Martone\nSupporting the making of costumes Giovanna Ficaccio \n*** \nRunning time 75′\nA 6-minute break is scheduled among the choreographies. \nCallas\, Callas\, Callas \nGifted with ‘three voices’\, it was said\, for her exceptional vocal range. And again: talented as a ‘dramatic soprano of agility’\, a 19th century description for her unique timbre. A charismatic woman and artist\, her voice was powerful and theatrical thanks to her technique and ability to fuse singing and acting\, capable of ardent and engaging interpretations in embodying seductive and tragic female characters. Her name is engraved in the history of melodrama. And not only. Art and style\, triumphs and acclaim\, worldliness and private affairs have intertwined in the life of Maria Callas\, ‘La Divina’. We also remember her diva outbursts\, the mystery of her drastic weight loss\, her chronic insomnia\, the son she never had\, her friendship with Pasolini and\, above all\, her inauspicious love affair with the shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis\, who left his wife for her\, only to abandon her and marry Jackie Kennedy. Callas died\, suffering and alone\, in her Paris flat on 16 September 1977\, from causes not yet ascertained. In the centenary year of her birth\, amidst already celebrated tributes and others in progress\, that of the COB Compagnia Opus Ballet directed by Rosanna Brocanello\, has a particular value also for the originality that inspired it: entrusting three young\, and already established\, choreographers with a contemporary language\, with a creation for one evening\, reflecting their personal vision of the legendary artist\, without\, however\, wishing to describe her. Three different points of view\, therefore\, three approaches and restitutions in dance that the beautiful title Callas\, Callas\, Callas already highlights. A title that is also an invitation\, for the spectator\, to discover or rediscover through the folds of a movement or the ensemble chorus\, through the electronic sounds or the fragments of famous arias disseminated in the choreographic architecture\, through a light or a costume that shapes gestures and postures\, one’s own Callas. Or perhaps another\, unprecedented one that abstract dance can suggest\, evoke\, imprint in the atmosphere and memory. We will certainly recognise\, contaminated or barely revealed\, three famous arias: from Tosca\, Norma\, Carmen. \nSTANDPOINTS by Roberto Tedesco (ph. Paolo Bonciani) \n\nRoberto Tedesco blends the notes of Vissi d’arte on the electronic musical score composed by Giuseppe Villarosa\, within which he also mixes excerpts from interviews and interference of voices. In the words of the famous aria\, extrapolated from Tosca\, the Calabrian choreographer pinpoints the moment when Callas is on the point of death\, and wants to reiterate to everyone that she lived profoundly of art and love\, being simply a person\, a woman\, before being considered a diva. It is above all in the sound structure that the choreographer imprints his vision of Callas’s life\, as if to predispose the spectator – quoting George Balanchine – to “see the music and hear the dance”. Tedesco interweaves an imaginary dramaturgy with a musical journey\, almost chronological\, from the years in New York\, where Callas was born\, to her Greek origins; from Italy\, which\, with the Teatro alla Scala\, gave her her greatest success\, to France\, where she retired for good. Vague jazz sounds at first recall America\, then those of the Bouzouki to Greece\, and a piece of light music from the 1970s to the mood of suffering that accompanied her. Over a rising\, almost techno rhythm\, a choral dance grafts the bodies – male and female\, a single entity -\, clad in stylised red corsets and black masks in the shape of abatjours.\nAn aesthetic that harks back to the theatrical costumes of opera\, and to that world of fashion of which Callas\, inspiring many designers\, was also an icon. \nDIVINA by Adriano Bolognino (ph. Paolo Bonciani) \nThe Neapolitan choreographer Adriano Bolognino – a lover of all that is part of that glamorous universe – emphasises this fashionable divism in his creation\, emphasising his ‘Callas imagery’ also in terms of aesthetics\, combined with the strength\, rigour and whimsy of dance.\nSpeed and rhythm characterise his language. It is embodied by the five dancers with a combative gesturality that underlies certain references from the soprano’s life: her singing\, her Greek roots\, her failed motherhood\, her tormented love affair. Always on stage\, the quintet plays between softness and broken movements\, rhythms and pauses\, to the introductory music composed by Vito Pizzo\, which acts as a prelude to flow and close with Casta diva (from a recording by the Opéra de Paris). \nTOUJOURS LA MORT by Carlo Massari (ph. Paolo Bonciani) \nCarlo Massari\, on the other hand\, does not engage with any particular sound contaminations in his creative journey through the Callas universe. With a dramaturgy linked to an even ironic component that impacts with the sound dimension\, what envelops the ether is\, after listening on a loop\, the recognisable voice of the singer in the famous Habanera from Carmen – the simple bolero of the costumes recalls Bizet’s opera – and further on the Aria delle carte\, when the playing cards predict to the gypsy woman the approach of death. And it is this vision that allows Massari’s choreography\, with Callas who\, in her physical perishing\, lives knowing the end that awaits her. The applause we hear at the beginning accompanies her as she retraces the thread of her existence\, until she leaves us with the memory of her sublime voice\, of the immortal artist. “There is no movement if there is no thought and there is no thought if there is no sense” is the assumption that has always animated Massari’s work. In line with his own modality that crosses and combines the different languages of the performing arts – theatre\, dance\, music -\, the Bolognese choreographer stages the protagonist accompanied by ‘black souls’\, a sort of coloured spirits – the colours of the voice – that follow and support her in her last breath of life. \nEverything contributes\, in the three creations\, to the spectator’s reading of the scenic event\, who is thus urged to find his own Callas\, to identify his own myth. \nby Giuseppe Distefano \nCOB COMPAGNIA OPUS BALLET \nDirected by Rosanna Brocanello since its foundation\, the company is made up of a stable core of professional dancers and to date has produced a vast repertoire of productions.
