SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto opens the artistic season of Théâtre de Chaillot in Paris\, important reference point of contemporary dance in Europe and more. \nFrom 14 to 17 October for 5 times the company dances Don Juan\, the new full-length production conceived by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography is born from Inger’s desire to “face” Don Juan/Don Giovanni\, an ancient and still contemporary\, truly paradigmatic myth. Some of the works that inspired the choreographer are Tirso de Molina’s original comedy and the plays by Molière\, Bertold Brecht and Suzanne Lilar. Inger\, together with the playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl\, thoroughly read twenty-five different texts inspired by Don Juan. \nThis Don Juan features all the characters of the story\, from Doña Elvira to Doña Ana to Zerlina and Masetto. The Don Juan is a Kammerspiel\, where the dance is a magnifying glass for each of the characters revealing in a refined and clear way the inner world of men and women on stage \nThe tournée is supported by Regione Emilia-Romagna and Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Parigi. \n\n

The poetic cue from which his research starts is a gesture as simple as it is rich in complex\, emotional and social nuances. The hug. It is no coincidence that one of the gestures lost\, during the unusual flow of these months.\nThe evening is completed with some excerpts from Domus Aurea\, choreography within the 2018 Bach Project diptych\, and the rearrangement for two dancers of Aterballetto by Inter-view: Emanuele and Clément\, presented at Fotografia Europea 2019. \n\n\n\n\nProject for a house of light\, Massimo Uberti

SUMMARY:BLISS / Secus
DESCRIPTION:THE PERFORMANCE IS CANCELLED.\nAterballetto dances at the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre BLISS/Secus: the perfect  evening to admire the versatility of the 16 dancers of Aterballetto\, the only Italian company to have in its repertoire two of the most intense and acclaimed choreographers on the international scene. \nThe curtain opens on the light of BLISS\, a masterpiece by Johan Inger to the notes of Keith Jarrett’s Koln Concert.\nBLISS is a dance that emanates happiness and above all life. A joy for the performers\, who surrender to the music without any resistance\, and for the public\, who can admire the maturity and skill of each dancer. \nSecus is a creation by Ohad Naharin that boasts a musical collage that extends from the unusual electronic styles of AGF to the seductive Indian melodies of Kaho Naa Pyar Hai to the resonant harmonies of the Beach Boys. This adventurously eclectic mix serves as a suitable backdrop for the boldly extravagant choreography. Under our unbelieving eyes\, we compose a human alphabet made up of races\, solos\, clear and clean gestures\, interrupted duets\, which\, through precise and sudden kicks\, sinuous disarticulations of the hips\, torsos that bend in all directions like rubber to be shaped\, expresses pure emotions and feelings without becoming sentimental. Joy\, vulnerability\, fear\, innocence\, confusion and anger weave a harmonious and dynamic canvas that oscillates between delicacy and exaggeration.

SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Performance cancelled\n\nAterballetto dances in Schaffhausen\, Switzerland\, Don Juan\, the new full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n\n

SUMMARY:XL Dance Company
DESCRIPTION:After a year of suspension\, we are resuming performances at the Foundry from where we stopped\, with live streaming. \nWe decided to start our streaming activity from the Foundry by giving priority to XL Dance Company\, a young company from Reggio Emilia directed by Laura Matano and Emanuela Baratin\, which was due to make its debut just a year ago in the Foundry. \nOn stage were two choreographies signed by Laura Matano\, “Oh Peter\, hello. Goodbye.” and “Before Tomorrow”. \nThe event will be streamed on OnTheatre. \nOh Peter\, hello. Goodbye. \nChoreography Laura Matano\nPerformers Diletta Antolini\, Melissa Bortolotti\, Francesco Corvino\nLighting design Gessica Germini\nMusic Various Authors\nDuration 13.40 min \nHere is the greeting you were meant to be.\nI awaited it with understanding because in all our things there were sentences and redemptions.\nIn it is included the desire to which I had to return and which I had to keep. A\nresolute control of aspirations so as not to become a victim of them.\nYou are without siege\, and I am no longer a smile but winter.\nCover yourself too.\nYou said that every body seeks\, calls\, must fulfil itself.\nIt is true\, here is the ritual to go.\nI feel that you want to drag me into your space but I choose to return to myself\, in symbiosis\nwith my wide gestures and without constraints. Until they are fulfilled we will guard our\nsleeps but stand in profile\, to give access to nightmares.\nThen I will open my hands as in a space of my own\, without having yours around me trying to\ntake one last close look. \nXL Dance Company – “Oh Peter\, hello. Goodbye” – ph. Jessica Incerti Telani \nPrima di domani \nChoreography Laura Matano\nChoreography assistant Sabrina Rigoni\nPerformers Diletta Antolini\, Melissa Bortolotti\, Noemi Garofalo\, Sabrina Rigoni\nVisual Art Jessica Incerti Telani\nScenography Cinzia Macis\nDramaturgical Preparation Stefano Masotti\nLighting Design Gessica Germini\nMusic Various Authors\nDuration 24.30 min \nSurrendering to the earth with an exhausted gesture\, the body turns into a closed century.\nLet it go.\nIntensity\, delicacy\, violence\, sincerity\, intimacy.\nTake it all in again and cherish it. A game that never ends.\nEach time\, the pain\, it is a great discovery. Dazzling\, like a black star.\nSomething is missing\, you begin to live without\, as you search for life’s vanishing point.\nYou scrape the empty words\, you invent a new language\, you derive by subtraction.\nIt is fear that comes but it comes together with courage.\nCourage. And courage.\nThey are needed.\nTo learn again where the cardinal points are and then the exact vertical.\nTo square the balance again.\nYou devour existence.\nYou twist.\nA twist that digs into your side\, necessary to re-emerge. In the meantime a weeping flows\, heedless and in\nin its way hospitable.\nAnd you walk\, you move forward in the disorder of destiny\, you obey the failure of time that falls\non you without you being able to stop it.\nIt affects us all.\nA compulsory\, obligatory passage\, you do not escape\, the bridge has collapsed.\nCount the hours\, count the minutes.\nCount the seconds.\nIn fact\, look\, hold your head with your hand when you hear too much noise inside.\nTake your time.\nCompelled state of necessity.\nThat’s it\, you have to get through it before tomorrow.\nAnd from tomorrow on\, don’t forget it. \nXL Dance Company – “Prima di domani” – ph. SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto gets back to dance in a theatre after 6 months. \nFrom 6 to 9 May\, the company opens the season at the Teatro Metastasio in Prato with four performances of Don Juan\, choreographed by Swedish Johan Inger and winner of the Danza&Danza ‘Best Production 2020’ Award. The Don Juan is a Kammerspiel\, where the dance is a magnifying glass for each of the characters revealing in a refined and clear way the inner world of men and women on stage. \nTeatro Metastasio in Prato is one of the co-producers of the choreography.

Inger\, together with the playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl\, thoroughly read twenty-five different texts inspired by Don Juan. \nThis Don Juan features all the characters of the story\, from Doña Elvira to Doña Ana to Zerlina and Masetto. The Don Juan is a Kammerspiel\, where the dance is a magnifying glass for each of the characters revealing in a refined and clear way the inner world of men and women on stage. \nTeatro Metastasio in Prato is one of the co-producers of the choreography.

His strength is that it is not essential to fully understand the content or the source of inspiration in order to ‘hear’ and ‘be heard’. Through his work\, Cave argues that we should not go to the theatre\, to a concert\, to a museum\, in order to understand\, but in order to ask questions and to enrich ourselves\, to analyse ourselves. \nIn one of his pieces I found the question I wanted to ask myself for this creation: MAH SANCTUM (my belief). \nWhat do I believe in? I believe in the ‘body’\, I believe in its fragility and strength\, in its limitation and expansion\, in its capacity for change and constant transformation\, I believe in its contemporaneity\, but also in its capacity to continue to feel those emotions that have been handed down to us; I believe in its violent beauty and frightening fragility. In this work I research above all on these obsessions\, compulsions\, addictions\, contrasts\, transforming the bodies of the five dancers not into men and women\, but into emotional impulses; impulses that are part of written poems of which it would be enough to understand that they do not end there on the stage. \nPRELUDIO is my profane prayer\, my love letter to the body\, my credo for today. \nDiego Tortelli \n\n\nFND/Aterballetto – Preludio – ph.
