DESCRIPTION:THE PERFORMANCE IS CANCELLED.\nAterballetto dances at the Teatro Toniolo in Mestre BLISS/Secus: the perfect  evening to admire the versatility of the 16 dancers of Aterballetto\, the only Italian company to have in its repertoire two of the most intense and acclaimed choreographers on the international scene. \nThe curtain opens on the light of BLISS\, a masterpiece by Johan Inger to the notes of Keith Jarrett’s Koln Concert.\nBLISS is a dance that emanates happiness and above all life. A joy for the performers\, who surrender to the music without any resistance\, and for the public\, who can admire the maturity and skill of each dancer. \nSecus is a creation by Ohad Naharin that boasts a musical collage that extends from the unusual electronic styles of AGF to the seductive Indian melodies of Kaho Naa Pyar Hai to the resonant harmonies of the Beach Boys. This adventurously eclectic mix serves as a suitable backdrop for the boldly extravagant choreography. Under our unbelieving eyes\, we compose a human alphabet made up of races\, solos\, clear and clean gestures\, interrupted duets\, which\, through precise and sudden kicks\, sinuous disarticulations of the hips\, torsos that bend in all directions like rubber to be shaped\, expresses pure emotions and feelings without becoming sentimental. Joy\, vulnerability\, fear\, innocence\, confusion and anger weave a harmonious and dynamic canvas that oscillates between delicacy and exaggeration.

Tortelli starts from the suggestions of the foyer\, the stage and the rooms of the Ridotto of the Teatro Valli and imagines a choreographic and musical tour. His strength is that it is not essential to fully understand the content or the source of inspiration in order to ‘hear’ and ‘be heard’. Through his work\, Cave argues that we should not go to the theatre\, to a concert\, to a museum\, in order to understand\, but in order to ask questions and to enrich ourselves\, to analyse ourselves. \nIn one of his pieces I found the question I wanted to ask myself for this creation: MAH SANCTUM (my belief). \nWhat do I believe in? I believe in the ‘body’\, I believe in its fragility and strength\, in its limitation and expansion\, in its capacity for change and constant transformation\, I believe in its contemporaneity\, but also in its capacity to continue to feel those emotions that have been handed down to us; I believe in its violent beauty and frightening fragility. A tribute to a special place of the town\, a message of artistic vitality in one of the most difficult periods experienced by the citizens and a reaffirmation of the central importance of the collaboration between two of the major Italian cultural institutions\, I Teatri and Aterballetto. \nStanze \ Rooms is a site-specific itinerant performance. Tortelli starts from the suggestions of the foyer\, the stage and the rooms of the Ridotto of the Teatro Valli and imagines a choreographic and musical tour. His strength is that it is not essential to fully understand the content or the source of inspiration in order to ‘hear’ and ‘be heard’. Through his work\, Cave argues that we should not go to the theatre\, to a concert\, to a museum\, in order to understand\, but in order to ask questions and to enrich ourselves\, to analyse ourselves. \nIn one of his pieces I found the question I wanted to ask myself for this creation: MAH SANCTUM (my belief). \nWhat do I believe in? I believe in the ‘body’\, I believe in its fragility and strength\, in its limitation and expansion\, in its capacity for change and constant transformation\, I believe in its contemporaneity\, but also in its capacity to continue to feel those emotions that have been handed down to us; I believe in its violent beauty and frightening fragility. Celeste Lombardi  \n  \n\n\nPRELUDIO \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Nick Cave\nAssistant to the choreographer Casia Vengoechea \nDuration 16’ – For 5 dancers \n\n\nPRELUDIO is a creation for 5 performers designed around some of the most intense songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, one of the greatest exponents of Post Punk. \nIn his songs\, Cave explores the interplay of themes such as love\, “belief”\, addiction\, obsession and loss\, crossing over each other as if he were telling a story\, an experience that can be perceived by everyone through his use of notes or tone of voice. His strength is that it is not essential to fully understand the content or the source of inspiration in order to ‘hear’ and ‘be heard’. Through his work\, Cave argues that we should not go to the theatre\, to a concert\, to a museum\, in order to understand\, but in order to ask questions and to enrich ourselves\, to analyse ourselves. \nIn one of his pieces I found the question I wanted to ask myself for this creation: MAH SANCTUM (my belief). \nWhat do I believe in? I believe in the ‘body’\, I believe in its fragility and strength\, in its limitation and expansion\, in its capacity for change and constant transformation\, I believe in its contemporaneity\, but also in its capacity to continue to feel those emotions that have been handed down to us; I believe in its violent beauty and frightening fragility. Nicola Stasi \n OPEN DRESS REHEARSAL_AGORA COACHING PROJECT\nThe protagonists are the dancers of the Agora Coaching Project\, an advanced dance training project promoted and supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. Started in 2010\, the course is now gaining full recognition in the world of European dance and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \nOn stage Made in Italy 24.0\, a programme consisting of Träfen Wir Uns\, Uscita di Sicurezza\, LEGO. \nTräfen Wir Uns \nChoreography Ivan Alboresi\nMusic Davidson Jaconello\, Stefan Levin\, Frèdèric Chopin \nTräfen wir uns is a new creation by Ivan Alboresi for the young dancers of the Agora Coaching Project. The choreography deals with various problems of the individual in contemporary society. The virtual reality\, which the world pushes us to seek and create\, contrasts with the loneliness present in everyday life. The problem of one’s identity outside of the digital self-presentation\, the desire for “real” encounters and connections\, as well as the omnipresence of fears and their influence on our actions\, form the foundations of this piece. \nIvan Alboresi shows restless protagonists who are constantly searching for themselves\, for support\, for security. But at the same time the fear of connecting with the other\, of losing control or being rejected. He contrasts this restlessness with moments of almost catatonic torpor. The choice of music\, a fundamental part of Ivan Alboresi’s choreographies\, goes from classical pieces to contemporary music to the use of sound carpets created in collaboration with the composer Davidson Jaconello. \nDuration: 30′ \nUscita di sicurezza \nChoreography Enrico Morelli\nMusic Ben Frost\, Vex’d\, Max Richter\nCostumes Nuvia Valestri \nFirst performance: March 2012 \nUscita di Sicurezza catapults us into a parallel universe\, into an alienating underworld where fog\, rhythmic contractions and frenetic bodies enhance the dangerous influence of the herd.\nThey are all victims and aggressors\, they are all perpetrators of a revolt suffocated within bodies that abandon and recover in a rhythmically controlled tension. The lack of personal identity\, if not in function of the others\, the need to belong\, the incapacity of autonomy determine a sense of oppression from which to escape. The all-encompassing\, inescapable need to walk\, to create\, brick after brick\, the road ahead\, to understand those who will be part of it and to collect the fragments\, without which many relationships would never exist. \nThus\, it is the designing of a great map: streets and labyrinths that intersect\, meet and collide\, that indicate direction and movement\, that create casual or voluntary relationships. \nDuration: 35′ \nAGORA COACHING PROJECT \nAGORA COACHING PROJECT is an annual project of improvement in dance for dancers aged between 18 and 22 years\, which is based in Reggio Emilia.\nBorn in 2010\, the course is directed by Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli\, and is promoted and supported by MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D. Progetto Danza di Reggio Emilia. It aims to train artists ready to deal flexibly with the variety of the international dance market\, artists able to respond to requests of different nature\, technical / stylistic\, which come from this same market. \nThe course aims to offer a wide range of technical and cultural stimuli and exchange between students and choreographers\, each of whom comes from and works in different realities among the most interesting on the international scene. The choreography deals with various problems of the individual in contemporary society. The virtual reality\, which the world pushes us to seek and create\, contrasts with the loneliness present in everyday life. The problem of one’s identity outside of the digital self-presentation\, the desire for “real” encounters and connections\, as well as the omnipresence of fears and their influence on our actions\, form the foundations of this piece. \nIvan Alboresi shows restless protagonists who are constantly searching for themselves\, for support\, for security. But at the same time the fear of connecting with the other\, of losing control or being rejected. He contrasts this restlessness with moments of almost catatonic torpor. SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Don Juan\, choreography by Swedish Johan Inger and winner of the Danza&Danza ‘Best Production 2020’ Award\, finally reaches Ravenna Festival\, where it was due to première last year. \nThe choreography is born from Inger’s desire to “face” Don Juan/Don Giovanni\, an ancient and still contemporary\, truly paradigmatic myth. Some of the works that inspired the choreographer are Tirso de Molina’s original comedy and the plays by Molière\, Bertold Brecht and Suzanne Lilar. Inger\, together with the playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl\, thoroughly read twenty-five different texts inspired by Don Juan. \nThis Don Juan features all the characters of the story\, from Doña Elvira to Doña Ana to Zerlina and Masetto. The Don Juan is a Kammerspiel\, where the dance is a magnifying glass for each of the characters revealing in a refined and clear way the inner world of men and women on stage. \nRavenna Festival is one of the co-producers of the choreography.
