SUMMARY:Frammenti d’Inferno_1 - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\nFrammenti d’Inferno_ 1 brings the author’s focus to the representation of the demons and damned of the infernal hosts\, to the investigation of the characters that the Poet encounters on his journey and the torments reserved for them. A succession of choreographic pictures\, with different music and atmospheres. Characters chosen by the choreographer to investigate the human soul and compose a poetic and fascinating picture\, perturbing\, in which every archetype of the collective unconscious finds its own carnal and earthly manifestation. Dissipating\, as Dante did\, the darkness that envelops these famous damned souls and bringing them to the light\, literally under the spotlight\, Monica Casadei chooses to follow them along a path of sin\, awareness\, acceptance\, where the point of arrival is no longer punishment but the expressive power of the Ego\, in its fullness and truth. \nCREDITS \nChoreography\, direction Monica Casadei\nMusic Giuseppe Verdi\nSound design Luca Vianini\nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza\nCo-production FIND Festival \n  \nCOMPAGNIA ARTEMIS DANZA \nOriginally from Ferrara\, Monica Casadei graduates in philosophy cum laude writing a dissertation on dance in Plato’s system. After a career as a professional acrobatic gymnast\, she takes to studying classic and modern dance\, at first in Italy\, then in London\, and eventually in Paris where she gets to meet choreographers Pierre Doussaint and Isabelle Doubouloz and the Master André Cognard Hanshi So shihan\, with whom she still practices the martial art of Aikido. \nIn France\, she founds the company Artemis Danza\, with which she later moves to Italy\, in 1997\, giving birth to a fervent production activity that amounts\, nowadays\, to over 40 original creations. \nFrom 1998 to 2007\, the Company is part of an artist residency at Fondazione Teatro Due in Parma whereas\, from 2014 up to this day\, it partakes in an artist residency at Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Artemis Danza has been invited to the most important Italian theatres and festivals and to several international tours and festivals. \nPivotal elements in Monica Casadei’ s artistic research are the influences from different artistic\, cultural and geographic fields and the exploration of urban spaces and places that turn into stages for performances. \nAlongside the production activity\, Artemis funds\, produces and promotes young choreographers and organizes several activities meant to artistically educate the audience. \nartemisdanza.com \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 3 euro\nUnder 6: free \nPURCHASING TICKETS\nIn compliance with anti-Covid regulations\, tickets can only be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it up to one hour before the performance.\nTherefore tickets cannot be booked by phone or by e-mail. \nThe ticket service in the Fonderia is suspended. \nTickets are not numbered. \nENTRANCE\nYou can enter the Fonderia 15 minutes before the performance\, showing your online purchase.\nAt the entrance\, the temperature will be tested and if the temperature exceeds 37.5°C\, you will not be allowed to enter and you must fill in the Covid self-certification form.\nIn order to avoid queues at the entrance\, please download the Covid self-certification form (it must be submitted on paper) and fill it in beforehand. SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Don Juan\, choreography by Swedish Johan Inger and winner of the Danza&Danza ‘Best Production 2020’ Award\, finally reaches Ravenna Festival\, where it was due to première last year. \nThe choreography is born from Inger’s desire to “face” Don Juan/Don Giovanni\, an ancient and still contemporary\, truly paradigmatic myth. Some of the works that inspired the choreographer are Tirso de Molina’s original comedy and the plays by Molière\, Bertold Brecht and Suzanne Lilar. Inger\, together with the playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl\, thoroughly read twenty-five different texts inspired by Don Juan. \nThis Don Juan features all the characters of the story\, from Doña Elvira to Doña Ana to Zerlina and Masetto. The Don Juan is a Kammerspiel\, where the dance is a magnifying glass for each of the characters revealing in a refined and clear way the inner world of men and women on stage. \nRavenna Festival is one of the co-producers of the choreography.

SUMMARY:Storie
DESCRIPTION:THE PERFORMANCE WAS CANCELLED FOR REASONS RELATED TO THE HEALTH EMERGENCY.\nAterballetto dances at Florence Dance Festival and presents Storie for the first time. \nStorie is a small anthology of danced fragments. They are only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the bill\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on Nick Cave music\, Another story is a duo about the impossible gesture of 2020\, the hug. \nBetween past and future the two creations by Kratz. The duo “O” offers us two human bodies / robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and heartfelt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a creation for six dancers at the end of the bill\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication among people who feel on the same level. It too is severely stretched by the present times. \n  \n\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Another Story
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED PERFORMANCE\nThe performance has been cancelled due to some positive cases among the dancers\, in compliance with prevention and safety measures to combat and contain the spread of Covid. \nAnother Story\, the duet by Diego Tortelli\, is at Scandicci\, near Florence\, for the festival Nutida. \nStarring Ina Lesnakowski and Hélias Tur-Dorvault. \nAnother Story tells the new story of the most feared and at the same time desired gesture of 2020: the hug. A gesture as simple as a hug has been transformed into the most hidden desire and at the opposite into an almost “terrorist” act\, without losing its deep meaning of carnal sharing. Another Story becomes a solitary\, shared\, violent\, painful\, tiring and also desired\, hidden\, intimate embrace. What choreographer Diego Tortelli intends to do is to write another story to be mutually felt and observed by performer and spectator. \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Corpi/Bodies
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto dances in Rome\, within Fuori Programma Festival. \nOn scene Corpi/Bodies\, evening composed of works by Diego Tortelli\, our resident choreographer. \nThe evening will be opened by Diego Tortelli himself\, who together with the complicity of Gaia Clotilde Chernetich\, dramaturg and dance researcher\, will tell the audience how a creative idea can be transformed into dance. The choreographer will show live\, in a simple and engaging way\, the creative process of a choreography\, accompanied by Aterballetto dancer Sandra Salietti Aguilera. \nTo follow MAUDIT Reloaded\, Sonata in trio\, Another Story\, Preludio. \n  \nMAUDIT reloaded \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Spiritualized (Rated X)\nDancer Sandra Salietti Aguilera \nDuration 6’ \nChoreography created for Grace Lyell with the projetc In/Finito \n  \n\nThe life of our city is full of poetic and marvellous subjects. We are wrapped and enveloped in an atmosphere that has much that is wonderful\, but we aren’t aware of it.\nDon’t disregard anyone’s sensitivity. Each person’s sensitivity is their genius. \nCharles Baudelaire \n\nUsing a fragmented movement a dancer wants to tell the tragedy and constant innovation of the Body\, a dance that doesn’t wait for time to flow\, but shapes it at its will by speeding up and slowing the hours to reveal their skill\, beauty\, distortion and memory. Freedom of corporal expression of this poetic is achieved by a total embrace of the body’s folly just as the “maudit” deals with his place in society by destroying every rational connection before letting his own experience take over\, without constraints. The dancer will face the reflection of her image portrayed in the photograph\, breathing life\, folly and imagination into the place where her portrait was made and constantly recreating herself and providing the city with a body and a sensitivity as it too is a poetical and marvellous subject. \nDiego Tortelli \nSONATA IN TRIO \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Eugène Ysaye\, Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff\, ambienti sonori di Colombo Taccani\nDancers Saul Daniele Ardillo\, Martina Forioso\, Clément Haenen \nDuration 8’ \nFND/Aterballetto – Sonata in trio – ph. Celeste Lombardi \nAnother story \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Spiritualized\nMusic consultant Federico Bigonzetti\nLighting design Carlo Cerri\nDancers Ina Lesnakowski\, Hélias Tur-Dorvault \nDuration 13’ \nAnother story wants to tell the new story of the most feared and at the same time desired gesture of 2020\, suffering from a global epidemic: the hug.\nA gesture as simple as a hug has now been reinvented by adding infinite variations to its most basic meaning\, transforming itself into the most hidden desire and\, on the other side\, into an almost “terrorist” act\, without losing its deep meaning of actual carnal sharing. \nAnother story thus becomes a solitary hug\, a shared hug\, a violent\, painful\, tiring and also desired\, hidden\, intimate\, idolised hug… the only prediction we cannot rely on is how this simple gesture will continue its mutation; what choreographer Diego Tortelli intends to do is to write another story for it to be felt and watched by both performer and spectator. \nPreludio \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Nick Cave\nLighting design Carlo Cerri\nAssistant to the choreographer Casia Vengoechea\nDancers Clément Haenen\, Ivana Mastroviti\, Sandra Salietti Aguilera\, Roberto Tedesco\, Hélias Tur-Dorvault \nDuration 18’ \nPRELUDIO is a creation for 5 performers designed around some of the most intense songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, one of the greatest exponents of Post Punk.\nIn his songs\, Cave explores the interplay of themes such as love\, “belief”\, addiction\, obsession and loss\, crossing over each other as if he were telling a story\, an experience that can be perceived by everyone through his use of notes or tone of voice. His strength is that it is not essential to fully understand the content or the source of inspiration in order to ‘hear’ and ‘be heard’. Through his work\, Cave argues that we should not go to the theatre\, to a concert\, to a museum\, in order to understand\, but in order to ask questions and to enrich ourselves\, to analyse ourselves. \nIn one of his pieces I found the question I wanted to ask myself for this creation: MAH SANCTUM (my belief). \nWhat do I believe in? I believe in the ‘body’\, I believe in its fragility and strength\, in its limitation and expansion\, in its capacity for change and constant transformation\, I believe in its contemporaneity\, but also in its capacity to continue to feel those emotions that have been handed down to us; I believe in its violent beauty and frightening fragility. In this work I research above all on these obsessions\, compulsions\, addictions\, contrasts\, transforming the bodies of the five dancers not into men and women\, but into emotional impulses; impulses that are part of written poems of which it would be enough to understand that they do not end there on the stage. \nPRELUDIO is my profane prayer\, my love letter to the body\, my credo for today.\n \nDiego Tortelli \n\n\n

SUMMARY:A Poetry Abstraction - Eppur si muove
DESCRIPTION:ph. Jennifer Moyes \nFondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto opens its season at Contemporary Dance Festival of Teatro Comunale in Ferrara in the framework of the Interno verde Festival\, where the secret gardens in town become open-air theatres. \nOn stage A Poetry Abstraction\, creation by Diego Tortelli born in 2019 for Marina Rinaldi by Roksanda capsule\, and Eppur si muove by Francesca Lattuada.\nThe choreographies are danced by specifically selected performers. \nThese performances are scheduled: \n\nFriday 10 September h 15.00\, 16.30\, 18.00\n\nSaturday 11 September h 15.00\, 16.30\, 18.00\n\nSunday 12 September h 15.00\, 16.30\, 18.00\n\n\nA Poetry Abstraction \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Modulatori and Cavalcata by Daniela Savoldi\, Meditation from Thaïs by Jules Massenet\nCello Daniela Savoldi\nCostume design Diego Tortelli\nDancers Fabio Calvisi\, Vittoria Franchina\, Giovanni Leone\, Vanessa Loi \nDuration 20’\nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nCreation for the launch of Marina Rinaldi by Roksanda capsule (2019)\n \n\nIn the performance created for the launch of the Marina Rinaldi by Roksanda capsule in 2019\, I am going to draw geometric shapes and patterns through dance and body\, following and connecting my work to the designer’s creations\, but also from the idea of “opposites”. \nI am fascinated by the concept of elements that are born from a principle of “abstractionism” but find their own story when meeting; just as a body finds its own narrative and the right feeling when wearing a dress\, so the dancing body finds its own narrative sense in the encounter with music. \nI imagine therefore an exclusive performance\, where the bodies of the dancers intertwine creating plastic figures\, broken lines and games of fluid geometries\, but always accompanied by the harmonious and poetic sound of a young cellist\, to give geometry a soul\, a place\, a time. Colour\, shape and fluidity: a performance built for an audience that loves to be carried away by the poetry of line and elegance. Drawing inspiration from the patterns at the base of Marina Rinaldi by Roksanda capsule\, I am going to create an abstract poem of bodies immersed in colour. \nA declaration of love to contemporary art\, to what defines it: geometry\, matter and poetry. \nDiego Tortelli \nEppur si muove \nChoreography Francesca Lattuada\nMusic Ludwig van Beethoven (Symphony n. 7 – Second movement – Allegretto)\nCostume design Bruno Fatalot\nDancers Arianna Ganassi\, Antonio Tafuni \nDuration 12’\nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nWrapped in the elegant and impalpable costume of Bruno Fatalot\, a dancer moves solemnly on a barrel-pedestal\, pulled by the painful and mysterious note of Beethoven’s Allegretto. His dance fascinates and seduces\, as impressive as a prayer song. \nAn im-mobile dance.\nIm-mobility of the secular tree.\nSoft movements\, invisible to the naked eye.\nThe blood dripping in the veins\, the heart beating.\nA sensually funeral dance.\nObstinate Love.\nA dance that celebrates an incessant\, inexorable\, ineluctable flow of the\nLife.\nCombination of solemnity and simplicity. \n«Simplicity is complexity solved.» Constantin Brancusi \n \n

SUMMARY:Dante Solo Inferno - Open Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\nAn intricate forest\, swamps and rivers with dark\, stagnant water\, caves\, mud and stones\, rains of fire\, boiling blood. The landscape described by Dante Alighieri’s verses takes shape and body in the choreography Dante Solo Inferno\, created by Monica Casadei for the Compagnia Artemis Danza and inspired by the first cantica of the Commedia. \n \nCREDITS \nChoreography Monica Casadei\nMusic Franz Liszt\, Giuseppe Verdi\, Alfred Schnittke\, Krzysztof Penderecki\nMusical arrangements Luca Vianini\nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza\nIn partnership with Ravenna Festival\n \nSynopsis \nIn this performance\, conceived to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the Poet’s death\, the dancers redraw the contours of an inhospitable land\, where torments of the damned serve their sentence. The choreographic movements become a mirror of the torment\, the bodies are shaped in torsions\, syncopes\, contractures\, insoluble weaves. And yet\, as in Dante’s Inferno\, there are traces of a decayed humanity\, souls that preserve memory of themselves and their past\, individualities that emerge like spots of colour in the indistinct magma\, out of a desire to tell the outside observer about their lives before death. \nSome of them cross the stage still wearing their worn-out earthly clothes\, remnants of a nobility that is no longer worth anything\, where everyone is equal. Others take shape through the reading of Dante’s verses. Paolo and Francesca da Rimini\, Pier Della Vigna in the forest of suicides\, Tiresia\, Ulysses\, Minos… characters that Monica Casadei chooses to investigate the human soul\, in a path that from the awareness of sin goes beyond condemnation\, towards compassion and acceptance of human nature. There is no lack of moments of sacredness\, such as a dance by dervishes in their ample red robes\, spinning moved by the wind. \nMusic contributes to making the journey even more intense: Franz Liszt’s Dante-Symphonie\, inspired by the composer’s reading of Dante’s Commedia\, and Lacrymosa from Giuseppe Verdi’s Messa da Requiem\, meet pages by contemporary composers such as Alfred Schnittke and Krzysztof Penderecki\, and the sound atmospheres of Luca Vianini.\nDante Solo Inferno is a constantly evolving journey\, part of a wider project of exploration by Monica Casadei of Dante’s Inferno\, which has also taken shape in her creations Ombre and Frammenti di Inferno. \n  \nCOMPAGNIA ARTEMIS DANZA \nOriginally from Ferrara\, Monica Casadei graduates in philosophy cum laude writing a dissertation on dance in Plato’s system. \nartemisdanza.com \nINFO & BIGLIETTI \nTICKETS\nFull price: 3 euro\nUnder 6: free \nPURCHASING TICKETS\nIn compliance with anti-Covid regulations\, tickets can only be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it up to one hour before the performance.\nTherefore tickets cannot be booked by phone or by e-mail. \nThe ticket service in the Fonderia is suspended. \nTickets are not numbered. \nENTRANCE\nYou can enter the Fonderia 15 minutes before the performance\, showing your online purchase.\nAt the entrance\, the temperature will be tested and if the temperature exceeds 37.5°C\, you will not be allowed to enter. SUMMARY:Eppur si muove - Punch 24 - A Poetry Abstraction
DESCRIPTION:ph. Jennifer Moyes \nThe Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto presents a programme composed of three choreographies and itinerant through the main spaces of the Fonderia. \nOn stage Eppur si muove by Francesca Lattuada\, the premiere of Punch 24 by Roberto Tedesco and A Poetry Abstraction\, the creation by Diego Tortelli created in 2019 for the Marina Rinaldi by Roksanda capsule. The choreographies are danced by specifically selected performers. \nThree performances of the programme are scheduled: \n\nh 16.30-17.30\nh 18.00-19.00\nh 19.30-20.30\n\n \nEppur si muove \nChoreography Francesca Lattuada\nMusic Ludwig van Beethoven (Symphony n. It is my research about anything what we can find within a shape\, the awareness that every movement\, every sound\, every glance can be variable and endlessly multipliable.\nPunch24 is a series of independent scenes\, a game of entrances and exits\, a back and forth between the two dancers. A set of seemingly disconnected scenes that follow one other\, offering the audience the possibility to visualize each time a different performer. \nThe initial idea when I approached this new work was to create a piece for a group of 5/6 dancers. However\, the current pandemic situation has affected my idea\, leading me to change my plans and “forcing” me to interact with only two performers. This “obstacle”\, so to speak\, has made me think and it has led me to the creation of a duet that is not caged in a pre-defined structure. A duet that is open to future evolutions: an enlargement or\, to be more precise\, a return to a greater number of dancers. \nRoberto Tedesco \n  \nA POETRY ABSTRACTION \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Modulatori and Cavalcata by Daniela Savoldi\, Meditation from Thaïs by Jules Massenet\nCello Daniela Savoldi\nCostume design Diego Tortelli\nDancers Fabio Calvisi\, Vittoria Franchina\, Giovanni Leone\, Vanessa Loi \nDuration 20’\nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nCreation for the launch of Marina Rinaldi by Roksanda capsule (2019)\n \n\nIn the performance created for the launch of the Marina Rinaldi by Roksanda capsule in 2019\, I am going to draw geometric shapes and patterns through dance and body\, following and connecting my work to the designer’s creations\, but also from the idea of “opposites”. \nDiego Tortelli \nInfo & Tickets \nTICKETS\nFull price: 9 euro\nReduced price under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65: 6 euro\nUnder 8: free \nPURCHASING TICKETS\nIn compliance with anti-Covid regulations\, tickets can only be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it up to one hour before the performance.\nTherefore tickets cannot be booked by phone or by e-mail. So how does dance come into play in today’s society of control? _ Maurizio Zanardi \nDANIELE ALBANESE \nDaniele Albaneseis a choreographer\, dancer and performer based between Italy and Berlin. After having trained as a gymnast and ballet dancer\, he obtained a BA at EDDC (now ArtEZ) in Arnhem – The Netherlands where he studied with several leading figures linked to American Post-modernism.\nSince 1995\, while developing his work as an independent author\, he has been collaborating with many renowned artists such as Benoit Lachambre\, Virgilio Sieni\, Nigel Charnock\, Jennifer Lacey\, Enzo Cosimi\, Eva Karczag. \n\nIn 2002 he established his own company Compagnia STALKER_Daniele Albanese in order to investigate dance as a language in terms of relationship between closed and open structures\, in search of a choreographic sign which would be precise and mutable at the same time. \nHis research inhabits the constant flow that goes from the body as an object to the body as a subject through a flux of transformations in which gestures become abstractions and viceversa.\nHis works explore the hybrid forms that arise in the transition from a place to another\, from a movement to another\, in which boundaries are not seen as obstacles but rather as a point of turmoil that generates new ways of encountering the audience\, thus leading it to unusual dimensions of perception. \ncompagniastalker.com \nMAURIZIO ZANARDI \nMaurizio Zanardi is a philosophy expert and one of the founders of the Cronopio publishing house\, for which he has edited: Le lingue di Napoli\, 1994; Aporie napoletane. DESCRIPTION:Home Altrove is a performance as well as a reflection about the invisible communication between actions and thoughts\, between what is here and what is elsewhere. \nThe performance will be introduced by a short lecture by the philosopher Maurizio Zanardi and will be followed by an open conversation between the philosopher and Daniele Albanese. SUMMARY:MICRODANZE
DESCRIPTION:MicroDanze\, the complex project of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto combining dance\, visual art\, public art and virtual reality\, premieres (as far as the “exhibition” dimension is concerned) in Athens on 9 and 10 October\, at several relevant cultural venues of the city: the Greek National Opera / Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center\, the Acropolis Museum and the EMST Museum. \nThe project is conceived by the general director and programming manager Gigi Cristoforetti\, the choreographies by Norge Cedeño Raffo\, Francesca Lattuada\, Pietro Marullo\, Fernando Melo\, Angelin Preljocaj\, Roberto Zappalà\, Diego Tortelli\, Saul Daniele Ardillo\, Philippe Kratz\, Ina Lesnakowski\, Roberto Tedesco\, Hélias Tur-Dorvault. \n  \n\nOn the occasion of the dates in the Greek capital\, the 12 MicroDanze of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto are joined by 9 other creations by Greek choreographers and dancers\, with the artistic coordination of the Greek National Opera Ballet\, directed by Konstantinos Rigos. Among the various artists involved on the Greek side are Lenio Kaklea\, Cecilia Bengolea\, Yiannis Nikolaidis and Rigos himself. Thus\, an exhibition of 21 creations comes to life\, celebrating 200 years since the 1821 revolution that led to Greek independence. \nThe exhibition of the 12 MicroDanze of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto is curated by director Fabio Cherstich. \nMicroDanze\, co-produced by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani of Reggio Emilia\, is part of the project An Ideal City\, co-financed by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and developed by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto in partnership with the Greek National Opera in Athens and Les Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels. \nThe world premiere in Athens is supported by: \n  \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Ludwigsburg is the first German city to stage Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n
