SUMMARY:Danza d'Autore - Open Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Danza d’Autore – Open Rehearsal\n\nMM Contemporary Dance Company directed by Michele Merola presents Danza d’Autore\, a triple bill composed of Extended by Camilla Monga\, Round Trip by Roberto Tedesco and La metà dell’ombra by Michele Merola. \n \n\n  \nExtended \nChoreography and concept Camilla Monga\nMusic Federica Furlani and By This River by Brian Eno\nDancers Dylan Di Nola\, Lorenzo Fiorito\, Matilde Gherardi\, Annalisa Perricone\, Alice Ruspaggiari\, Giuseppe Villarosa \nProduction MM Contemporary Dance Company\nWith the support of VAN \nProject born from the action Prove d’autore XL\, promoted by Network Anticorpi XL and coordinated by Associazione Cantieri \nDuration 20′ \nHere we are\nStuck by this river\nYou and I\nUnderneath a sky that’s ever falling down\, down\, down\nEver falling down \nBrian Eno’s By This River brings dancers and spectators into a rarefied atmosphere while the sound of the piano and keyboards caress each other embroidering a precious harmonic fabric. The song invites to a sweet disorientation to idealise a time without time and a space without borders. Camilla Monga works with the musician Federica Furlani to create a polyphony of images that are always new and unrepeatable\, creating an elsewhere that is outlined minute by minute before the eyes of the spectator. Each musical framework guides the talented MMCDC dancers\, giving each one few features that mark their characters; while closely connected actions provoke chain reactions\, outlining increasingly meditative and ethereal panoramas. Extended is expanded music that seems to have neither a beginning nor an ending; it is a reflection on the nature and fragility of man\, but also on his ability to evoke a universe\, false or real\, to create spaces in which one can fall and rise again. \nRound Trip \nChoreography Roberto Tedesco\nMusic Not Waving\nLighting Design Gessica Germini\nDancers Dylan Di Nola\, Lorenzo Fiorito\, Matilde Gherardi\, Fabiana Lonardo\, Alice Ruspaggiari\, Giuseppe Villarosa \nDuration 12′ \nThere is no linear story but moments\, images\, situations that transfigure the formal aspect of the choreographic score into music\, in what seems to be a “mosaic-work”.\nAn investigation into pure movement\, starting from the awareness that “without space there would be no movement\, but without movement space would not be conceivable. With Round Trip we enter into an analysis of different identities\, of the encounter with the other and its many facets. Individuals engaged in a unique and multiple research confront and identify themselves\, mixing again\, not caring about any classification. A circular motion that consists of invading and abandoning space\, going and returning that do not always coincide\, as if every single situation were disconnected from the previous or the following one and could belong each time to an infinitely variable number of performers. \nRoberto Tedesco \nLa metà dell'ombra \n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography Michele Merola\nMusic Johann Sebastian Bach\, Geert Hendrix\, Senking\nCostume design Carlotta Montanari\nDancers Dylan Di Nola\, Lorenzo Fiorito\, Paolo Lauri\, Nicola Stasi\, Giuseppe Villarosa \nDuration 28′ \nLa metà dell’ombra stages an ideal and impalpable journey into sacrality. The gestures and the music remind us of the ritual\, of an archaic world\, lost forever. The dancers alternate the physicality of the ‘dancing body’ with an intimate interpretation of the most spiritual part of man. \n\nIn Michele Merola’s dance there is always a time where the human tension and the truth about feelings get exalted: dance brings out the aching sense of life. His dance goes straight to heart\, shaped as knife\, without intermissions and it breaks our self-confidence. La metà dell’ombra is the last leg of this path: it’s structured on human male bodies and it can be considered as a journey to\nexplore the mystery of the sacred in us. The choreography moves in a continuous tension between the sense of expiation\, expressed with gestures lacerating\, self-punitive\, and the hope of redemption and the liberation of the body. There is a constant movement between atonement\, punishment\, hope and freedom. The feelings are mixed\, opposed and drawn in a collective ritual ending. Each frame we see and each choral dance performed exalt the human presence. By those choices the choreographer gains a new dance language that conquered us with power and evocation. \nErmanno Romanelli – Dance News \n\n\n\nMM CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY \nMM Contemporary Dance Company\, based in Reggio Emilia\, Italy\, is directed by choreographer Michele Merola. SUMMARY:Concerto Fisico
DESCRIPTION:Concerto Fisico is a physical and vocal score that reviews and redraws the history of Balletto Civile\, the story of the company born inside the former Psychiatric Hospital of Udine. \n \n\n \nCredits \nConcept and choreography Michela Lucenti\nCreated and performed by Michela Lucenti\nAssistant to the creation Maurizio Camilli\nLive sound design Tiziano Scali and Maurizio Camilli\nProduction Balletto Civile and Festival Resistere e Creare\nWith the support of UFO – UNIDENTIFIED ART RESIDENCES and MIBACT \nTo know you alive is to feel the planet crumble beneath you\, to soar kicking try to throw yourself off while you cling to the edge\, is to ride the planet like a log in the direction of the current\, screaming.\nAnne Dillard \nSynopsis \nI always sang in shows even when my dancing was furious. The body\, my gestures are the map of what I feel and singing is my vehicle to keep me alive. \nConcerto Fisico is a composition for physical and vocal instrument\, a twisted and crooked greatest hits that has nothing nostalgic to tell the story of a group through the stories it has become a vehicle. A juke-box that awakens the emotional accents of a memory that is still the present\, of how we transformed ourselves\, of the sand from which we emerged\, of the Creatures\, of the wooden horses built for Troy\, of the fire extinguishers thrown in the dark\, of the sea of milk where Woyzeck and Andres talk about the void\, of Desdemona’s desperate scream\, of what happened to Thebes\, of the Resistance\, of the struggle and of the Revolution\, of how in the end the Evil Lambs are all of us\, of the mirrored floor and an orange rope\, of the power and heavy coats of 1918\, of stuffed foxes and sexual seasons\, of death and a Brazilian with a green plume\, of a small white dog\, of taboos\, of plastic ducks and Kenyan acrobats\, of firemen and priests\, of an accident and a gas station\, of a radio and a city always on fire\, of why things happen. Then everything disappears\, sucked into the eyes\, as if it never existed. \nConcerto Fisico is a musical tale for actions that retraces and redraws the history of Balletto Civile\, that is\, my own\, the history of my company. It was founded during a long artistic residence inside the former Psychiatric Hospital of Udine\, one of the centres where Basaglia revolutionized the concept of madness. My art was born in that place\, isolated from the world and at the same time in the centre of its burning fire. \nMichela Lucenti \nBalletto Civile \nA nomadic group by definition\, animated by a strong ethical tension\, Balletto Civile was founded in 2003 by Michela Lucenti. The creative approach is a research based on movement that emerges from the deep scenic relationship between the artists. It works on a total language where theatre\, dance and original singing interact naturally. \nballettocivile.org \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 9 euro\nReduced price under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65: 6 euro\nUnder 8: free \nPURCHASING TICKETS\nIn compliance with anti-Covid regulations\, tickets can only be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it up to one hour before the performance.\nTherefore tickets cannot be booked by phone or by e-mail. \nThe ticket service in the Fonderia is suspended. \nTickets are not numbered. \nENTRANCE\nYou can enter the Fonderia 15 minutes before the performance\, showing your online purchase.\nAt the entrance\, the temperature will be tested and if the temperature exceeds 37.5°C\, you will not be allowed to enter. SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:At Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona\, Aterballetto dances Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n

SUMMARY:Preludio - ''O'' - BLISS
DESCRIPTION:Due to the quarantine that some of the protagonists of the ballet Don Juan had to undergo\, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna and the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto have decided to replace the title\, scheduled from 29 December 2021 to 2 January 2022\, with three of the most popular choreographies created in recent years by the dance company. The times and dates of the performances remain unchanged.\nWednesday 29 December h 20.00 \nThursday 30 December h 20.00 \nFriday 31 December h 18.00 \nSunday 2 January h 16.00 \nThe evening opens with Preludio\, a creation for five performers by Diego Tortelli – Aterballetto’s resident choreographer – created around some of the most intense poems and songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, one of the greatest exponents of Post Punk. Cave tackles the interweaving of themes such as love\, addiction\, obsession and loss. \nThe programme continues with “O” by Philippe Kratz – a former Aterballetto dancer and choreographer – a duet that has already been appreciated abroad. “O” represents two human beings or two robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact could change: will it remain emotional and heart-felt\, or will it become serial and alienated? \nClosing is BLISS by Johan Inger\, which won the 2016 Danza&Danza Award as ‘Italian Production of the Year’\, inspired by the music of Keith Jarrett’s Köln Concert. Inger and the dancers on stage talk about how one relates to this iconic music: a compositional and emotional challenge. \n

SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto performs in Winterthur Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nIn the creation\, we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \n\n

SUMMARY:ARA! ARA! - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:Panzetti/Ticconi – Ara! Ara! – ph. Ettore Spezza \n  \nOPEN REHEARSAL\nGinevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi continue their investigation into power starting from the symbol of the national flag. \nARA! ARA! is the definition of a symbol of rising power\, a bird that is not powerful and threatening but cheerful and vivacious\, an exotic\, acrobatic icon\, a parrot with colourful and seductive plumage. But the word Ara brings out a second meaning that alludes to the ancient place of sacrifice\, understood here as a mechanism generating death\, inflicted as a gift to those who were recognised as having the highest power. \n  \n\n  \nCREDITS \nChoreography\, performance\, visual conception – Ginevra Panzetti / Enrico Ticconi\nSound design\, composition – Demetrio Castellucci\nSnare\, percussions\, recording – Michele Scotti\nLight design – Annegret Schalke\nSet design realization – Laila Rosato\nFlag design – Ginevra Panzetti\nCostume realization – Julia Didier\nFlag-waving coach – Carlo Lobina / Flag-wavers of Arezzo\nTechnical care – Paolo Tizianel\nTouring / distribution – Aurélie Martin\nItalian production management – VAN (Federica Giuliano\, Eleonora Cavallo)\nGerman production management – Monica Ferrari \nProduction : Ginevra Panzetti / Enrico Ticconi; Associazione Culturale VAN\nFunded by: Hauptstadtkulturfonds (German Cultural Capital Fund)\nSupported by: the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès within the framework of the New Settings Program\nCo-produced by: PACT Zollverein; La Briqueterie CDCN du Val-de-Marne within the framework of accueil-studio funded by the Ministry of culture / DRAC IDF; KLAP Maison pour la Danse (Residency 2021); Théâtre de Vanves / Scène conventionnée d’intérêt national « Art et création » pour la danse et les écritures contemporaines à travers les arts; Triennale Milano Teatro.\nSupported through: Programme Etape Danse\, sustained by Institut français d’Allemagne – Bureau du Théâtre et de la Danse\, in partnership with Maison CDCN Uzès Gard Occitanie\, théâtre de Nîmes-scène conventionnée d’intérêt national – Art et Création – danse contemporaine\, Fabrik Potsdam\, with the help of DGCA – ministère de la Culture et de la Communication\, and the city of Potsdam\, Mosaico Danza / Interplay Festival of Turin in partnership with Lavanderia a Vapore of Collegno; Radialstiftung.\nArtistic residency program: NAOcrea – Ariella Vidach AiEP; Teatro Félix Guattari – Masque Teatro; CSC Bassano del Grappa; PACT Zollverein; Armunia; Schaubühne Lindenfels; Sosta Palmizi.\nThanks to: Teatro Comandini – Societas; Anghiari Dance Hub.\nGinevra Panzetti / Enrico Ticconi are supported by DIEHL+RITTER/TANZPAKT RECONNECT\, which is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of the NEUSTART KULTUR initiative \nPreview 12 February 2021 / KLAP Maison pour la Danse – Marseille (FR)\nItalian Premiere 21 May 2021 / Interplay – Torino (IT)\nGerman premiere (digital) 10 – 16 June 2021 / Open Spaces Festival – Berlin (DE) \nDuration: 50′ \nSYNOPSIS \nAs slipping out of the cloth of constantly fluttering flags\, heraldic symbols take form and weight. Chimerical beings and oneiric figures appear\, like leafing through an armorial or medieval bestiary. They seem to tell us stories of conflicts which took place in the well delimited perimeter of an emblematic battlefield. \nIn ancient times\, graphic marks and color combinations showed up on the armors in response to the military need to identify opposite factions during fights. Thus arose coats of arms\, systems of signs\, shapes and colors organized in a form\, often that of a shield. They were used to reveal\, according to a precise sign alphabet\, the identity of a person\, a family\, a whole community. In the form of vivid colors and fantastic beasts\, those emblems hint at political tensions\, expressions of belonging\, dominance and power. \nPanzetti/Ticconi – Ara! Ara! – ph. Valerio Figuccio \nARA! ARA! is the designation of a symbol. The symbol of a rising power that chooses a bird to represent itself. Not a majestic and fearsome raptor like the eagle\, an animal often used as a heraldic symbol of power. On the contrary\, a bird that communicates fun and quietness by becoming\, according to a popular western look\, an exotic icon: the parrot ARA. It was introduced to the circus for its acrobatic abilities which\, together with the bright colours of its plumage and the ability to repeat sounds and words by imitation\, made it a perfect animal for entertainment in captivity.\nARA! ARA! represents a seductive power for its friendly and festive appearance that\, like the bird\, imitates and repeats\, bringing back patterns from the past\, ignoring contents and effects. \nSecond part of a diptych started with AeReA\, ARA! ARA! continues to investigate the symbolic power of the flag\, drawing on the folkloristic tradition of flag waving.\nPresent in both titles\, the word ARA reveals a second meaning that alludes to the ancient place of sacrifice\, here meant as a mechanism generating death\, inflicted as a gift to those who were recognized the highest power. \n  \nPANZETTI/TICCONI \nGinevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi\, based in Berlin and Torino\, have been working as a duo since 2008. Their artistic research interlaces dance\, performance and visual art. Deepening themes related to the historical union between communication\, violence and power\, they draw on ancient imaginaries\, creating hybrid figures or images between history and contemporaneity.\nBoth graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and attended Stoà\, School for rhythmic movement and philosophy in Cesena\, led by Claudia Castellucci. \nIn 2010 they moved to Germany and delved into individual\, but mutually complementary paths: Ginevra studied Media Art at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst (HGB) in Leipzig and Enrico Dance\, Context\, Choreography at the Inter-University Center for Dance (HZT) in Berlin. \nIn 2019 they won the 13th Arte Laguna Prize for the site-specific performance JARDIN / ARSENALE\, the first edition of Premio Hermès Danza Triennale Milano with which they realized the last work AeReA\, the Danza&Danza prize as emerging choreographers and were nominated “Promising Talent of the Year” by the Jahrbuch Tanz – Zeitschrift für Ballet Tanz und Performance.\nWith the work HARLEKING they have been selected by the european platform AEROWAVES Twenty 19\, the New Italian Dance (NID) Platform and by Tanzplatform Deutschland 2020. \npanzettiticconi.com \nPanzetti/Ticconi – Ara!
