SUMMARY:Solo Echo / Rhapsody in Blue / Glory Hall
DESCRIPTION:SOLO ECHO – Crystal Pite\nLove\, loss\, and acceptance lie at the heart of Solo Echo by Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite. Inspired by two cello and piano sonatas by Johannes Brahms and Mark Strand’s poem “Lines for Winter\,” Solo Echo evokes winter\, music\, and the moving body to express something essential about acceptance and loss. \nRHAPSODY IN BLUE – Iratxe Ansa & Igor Bacovich\n«Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin holds many points of fascination for us. It is a magnificent piece of music—well-known yet not frequently listened to by younger generations. Introducing this work to a new audience is a valuable goal\, and this production offers a perspective on Gershwin that feels less distant and less “American\,” transcending the cultural context in which the rhapsody was created. Inevitably\, the rhapsody itself will shape the choreography\, and the lively\, sparkling shifts within the music provide a fantastic playground for exploration.» – Iratxe Ansa & Igor Bacovich \n\nGLORY HALL – Diego Tortelli\nGlory Hall by Diego Tortelli is a sensory and rebellious journey through a liminal space\, suspended between light and darkness. The music leads the way in a crescendo of harmony and transgression\, evoking a boundless ecstasy that blends rock influences with symphonic melodies.

After several years dancing with companies such as the Hamburg Ballet and the Geneva Ballet\, they founded Riva & Repele in 2020\, dedicating themselves to choreographic creation while continuing to perform as dancers. \nThey have created poetic and sensitive choreographies such as Lili Elbe Show and Dear Son\, presented at international festivals and theatres. They have collaborated with international companies including the Stuttgart Ballet\, Augsburg Ballet\, Rome Opera House\, and Teatro Massimo in Palermo\, and their upcoming projects will see them creating for the Béjart Ballet. They have been described as the “Poets of Dance” for the expressive power of their choreographic language. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \nFull price: €3 \nUnder 6: free admission \nTICKET PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nFonderia Box Office: the box office opens half an hour before the performance begins (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia).\n\nTickets are unassigned (no seat numbers). \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \nPhone and WhatsApp: +39 334 1023554 \nEmail: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Centro Coreografico Nazionale/Aterballetto pays tribute to Ennio Morricone with a new production by Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau. \nWith his visionary power and ability to transfigure musical universes\, the Spanish artist presents a unique creation intertwining the music of Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone with dance\, visual arts\, and cinematic influences.\nMarcos Morau\, the youngest choreographer to receive the National Dance Award—Spain’s highest dance honor—builds imaginary worlds and landscapes where image\, text\, movement\, music\, and space form a unique universe\, constantly nourished by cinema\, photography\, and literature. Now\, in his first collaboration with CCN/Aterballetto\, he has chosen to work with the iconic compositions that have shaped the cinematic landscape over the past seventy years: those of Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone.\nThe director says: «Classically trained yet avant-garde in spirit\, Morricone was always beyond the trends of his time. His music belongs to an entire century and has brought many of our great masters back to life. For this evening\, I want to build a universe based on his sensitivity to confirm that his legacy is more alive than ever and that\, as he himself would say\, my music has a life of its own\, one that can live beyond the films for which it was created.»\nFind out more » \nDuration: 90′\nThe performance in Wiesbaden is presented in collaboration with the General Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of MAECI and the Italian Cultural Institute in Köln. \n

DESCRIPTION:The National Choreographic Center/Aterballetto pays tribute to Ennio Morricone with a new production by Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau. \nThe Spanish artist\, with his visionary power and ability to transform musical universes\, presents a unique creation that intertwines the music of Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone with dance\, visual arts\, and cinematic inspirations.\nMarcos Morau\, the youngest choreographer to date to receive the National Dance Award\, Spain’s highest honor in dance\, constructs imaginary worlds and landscapes where image\, text\, movement\, music\, and space form a unique universe constantly nurtured by cinema\, photography\, and literature. Now\, for his first collaboration with the CCN/Aterballetto\, he has chosen to draw from iconic compositions of the cinematic landscape of the last seventy years: those of Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone.\nThe director says: “With classical training and an avant-garde vocation\, Morricone has always been beyond the trends of his time. His music spans an entire century and has revived the works of many great masters. SUMMARY:NOTTE MORRICONE
SUMMARY:Made in Italy 35.0
DESCRIPTION:Double performance: \nThursday\, June 5 – 9:00 PMFriday\, June 6 – 9:00 PM \nThe protagonists of the evening are the dancers of Agora Coaching Project\, an advanced training project promoted and supported by MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia\, under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. Launched in 2010\, the course is gaining full recognition in the European dance scene and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \nThe evening features two choreographies: Passo d’addio by Claudia Rossi Valli and Last movement of hope – III Chapter: Annunciation by Adriano Bolognino. \nAGORA COACHING PROJECT \nAgora Coaching Project is a year-long advanced dance training program for dancers aged between 18 and 22\, based in Reggio Emilia. Founded in 2010\, it is directed by Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli\, and is promoted and supported by MM Contemporary Dance Company and the Centro Permanente Danza of Reggio Emilia. \nThe program aims to train artists who are prepared to face the diversity of the international dance market with flexibility — dancers capable of responding to its various technical and stylistic demands. The project offers a wide range of stimuli\, including technical training\, cultural enrichment\, and opportunities for exchange between students and choreographers\, each of whom brings a unique and valuable perspective from the international dance scene. \nAgora allows young dancers to meet established choreographers from diverse stylistic backgrounds. Over the years\, many renowned names have taken part in the project. Alongside Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli\, the program is supported by a team of highly qualified instructors\, each with proven experience in the field. \nPasso d'addio \nby Natiscalzi DT \nconcept/choreographic dramaturgy/texts: Claudia Rossi Valli \nartistic assistance: Tommaso Monza \nmusic: F. F. Chopin\, Niccolò Fabi\, Ori Litchi\, Meitei\, Olivia Sellerio\, Michael Wall \ndance and voices: Agora Coaching Project \nduration: 40 min. \naddìo: interjection and noun [A form of farewell used when parting for good. “Dare l’a.” — to say goodbye to a place or thing\, to leave it forever. Also plural\, “gli addii” — the final farewells\, the separation.] — Treccani \nPasso d’Addio is a sensorial and emotional journey through the many nuances of final moments. The performance explores the concept of “farewell” and “last time” as physical\, sonic\, and poetic acts\, transforming images\, thoughts\, and memories into movement. By sharing the creative process with the performers\, the stage becomes a sensory lab — a collective\, corporeal narrative. \nHow do we know this will truly be the last time? How does our best farewell move? Sometimes\, it makes space like revenge; other times\, it tickles a laugh or gently brushes the cheek\, consoles us like a prayer\, cradles us like a lullaby. Sometimes\, the farewell is whispered; other times\, it crashes — tumbling down the stairs. What does a farewell taste like? The taste of melancholy? \nMy farewell tastes like salted caramel on the last ice cream cone of that summer.\nWhat does our farewell sound like?\nIt strikes the bass drum of our lungs and then reverberates to the edges of us.\nIt stumbles on our teeth\, bounces off the palate\, falling in and out of us\, not knowing where its echo will land.\nIt skips across our goosebumps\, turning into dismay — and a nocturnal forest. \n  \nLAST MOVEMENT OF HOPE - III CHAPTER: ANNUNCIAZIONE \nchoreography: Adriano Bolognino \nassistant: Rosaria Di Maro \nmusic: Luke Howard\, Giuseppe Villarosa\, M83 \nperformers: Agora Coaching Project \nduration: 20 min. \n“Facing dust storms\, I will fight until the end.\nCreatures of my dreams: rise and dance with me.\nNow and forever\, I am your King.” \nThe need to be reborn arrives loudly — and perhaps you hear it shout even louder when faced with the fear of loss. Then\, perhaps\, filling up before it empties\, building before it collapses\, seems like the right path. The need for rebirth comes when you start to envision a void you cannot leap over. So you decide to plant seeds around it\, to water a garden you can lie on — a garden that can hold you when pain brings you to your knees. A garden not of flowers\, but of breath\, waiting\, and names not yet spoken. An energy that moves\, tears\, pushes. It descends\, flows through bodies\, uniting them. It opens a space\, a passage. A pulsating collective body that crosses the threshold. \nThis work is part of a collection of micro-dances titled Last Movement of Hope\, conceived as a larger project — a collection\, a book in which each chapter represents a moment of creative exploration\, an emotion\, an encounter\, or a reflection. It was born from the desire to explore and narrate the human experience through dance\, in all its complexity: our relationships with ourselves and others\, our fears\, struggles\, and\, above all\, the hope that drives us forward. \nINFO AND TICKETS \nTICKET PURCHASE \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it \nThe box office opens one hour before the performance begins. \nSeats are unassigned. \nCONTACTS \nMobile & WhatsApp: +39 334 1023554 \nEmail: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:SANTA
DESCRIPTION:From an idea by director Gigi Cristoforetti\, the new project SANTA by the Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto\, in co-production with the Sanpapié Company\, is an urban experience between art and dance curated by journalist and cultural communicator Nicolas Ballario\, through a journey that unfolds between the choreographic actions of Lara Guidetti and the works of Maurizio Cattelan\, one of the most renowned and controversial contemporary Italian artists\, famous for his provocative and ironic language. \nThe new project SANTA by the Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto\, co-produced with Compagnia Sanpapié\, is an urban experience blending art and dance. Conceived in collaboration with curator and cultural communicator Nicolas Ballario and choreographer Lara Guidetti\, the project features artworks by Maurizio Cattelan—such as the homeless figure seen in the photo—as central protagonists. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStarting June 12\, for three weekends\, audiences will be guided through Pavilions 17 and 18 of Reggiane Parco Innovazione: an urban regeneration project that has transformed a former industrial site in the Santa Croce district of Reggio Emilia (hence the name SANTA) into a hub for research\, culture\, and new technologies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWearing silent-disco headphones and guided by the voice of Nicolas Ballario along with choreographic actions\, visitors will experience a unique perceptual journey that weaves together historical memory and architecture—an invitation to imagine new futures within one of the city’s symbolic spaces. \nIt’s something that resembles a kind of ritual\, where the final destination of the site-specific performance is not immediately revealed. Only those who take part—rewarded for placing their trust in this artistic offering—will discover something truly unexpected. And perhaps it is precisely for this reason that the title SANTA was chosen. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCredits \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConcept and Curatorship: Nicolas BallarioChoreographic Action: Lara Guidetti \nSpecial thanks to Maurizio Cattelan and his private collection \nMusic: various composersSound Design: Marcello GoriLighting Design: Marcello MarchiCostume and Accessories Design: Maria Barbara De Marco / Fabrizio CalannaCostume Realization: Nuvia Valestri \nPerformers:Gioele Cosentino\, Vittoria Franchina\, Gador Lago Benito\, Alberto TerribileKiran Luc Gezels\, Alessia Giacomelli\, Michele Hu\, Karline Olivia Kotila \nA co-production by CCN/Aterballetto and Compagnia SanpapiéIn collaboration with STU Reggiane\, with the support of the City of Reggio Emilia \nSANTA is the first chapter of the three-year project Danze dell’Utopia by the Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto\, conceived by director Gigi Cristoforetti to explore the relationship between body\, space\, and imagination in processes of urban regeneration. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDates and Times \nThursday 12\, Friday 13\, Saturday 14 June 2025 – 7:30 PM\, 9:00 PM\, 10:15 PMThursday 26\, Friday 27\, Saturday 28 June 2025 – 7:30 PM\, 9:00 PM\, 10:15 PMThursday 3\, Friday 4\, Saturday 5 July 2025 – 7:30 PM\, 9:00 PM\, 10:15 PM \n  \nDuration: 1 hour \nWhere \nReggiane Parco Innovazione\nPiazzale Europa\, 1\, Reggio Emilia \nTicketing \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSingle ticket: €5Online purchase: www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nOn-site box office is open at the Tecnopolo\, Reggiane Parco Innovazione from 6:30 PM on the following dates:12\, 13\, 14 – 26\, 27\, 28 June – 3\, 4\, 5 July 2025 \nTickets purchased online must be collected at the box office during opening hours by presenting the purchase receipt. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInfo and Reservations \nPhone e whatsapp +393341023554\nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it \nNote for the Audience \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe SANTA experience is a walking itinerary with no seating\, and includes some stair passages.Total duration is approximately one hour.We recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to collect your silent-disco headphones and complete check-in procedures.

SUMMARY:NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:At Ravenna Festival the Centro Coreografico Nazionale/Aterballetto dances Notte Morricone\, the tribute to Ennio Morricone from Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau.\nWith his visionary power and ability to transfigure musical universes\, the Spanish artist presents a unique creation intertwining the music of Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone with dance\, visual arts\, and cinematic influences.\nMarcos Morau\, the youngest choreographer to receive the National Dance Award—Spain’s highest dance honor—builds imaginary worlds and landscapes where image\, text\, movement\, music\, and space form a unique universe\, constantly nourished by cinema\, photography\, and literature. For this evening\, I want to build a universe based on his sensitivity to confirm that his legacy is more alive than ever and that\, as he himself would say\, my music has a life of its own\, one that can live beyond the films for which it was created.»\nFind out more » \nDuration: 90′

SUMMARY:DON JUAN
DESCRIPTION:The CCN/Aterballetto at the prestigious Festival de Granada presents the full-length evening performance Don Juan\, choreographed by Johan Inger. \nThe performance is in collaboration with the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid \n \nThe choreography stems from Inger’s desire to explore Don Giovanni\, a paradigmatic myth both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertolt Brecht\, and the theatrical work of Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and dramaturg Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nAll the story’s key figures are featured in the piece\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its focus on nuance and emotion: in this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass on each character\, subtly yet clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \nDanza&Danza Award ‘Best Production’ 2020

SUMMARY:Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda
DESCRIPTION:Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda in Toledo is the first performance of CCN/Aterballetto’s 2025–2026 season.\nPuerta de Bisagra – Toledo\, September 13\, 2025 at 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm \nWith the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid\, CCN/Aterballetto celebrates Spain’s Noche del Patrimonio with Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda. \n \nThe Puerta de Bisagra provides the majestic setting where the tale of love and death told by Torquato Tasso in Jerusalem Delivered (1575) and set to music by Claudio Monteverdi (1624) will come to life. The performance\, created by Fabio Cherstich and Philippe Kratz\, is interpreted by dancers Alessia Giacomelli and Kiran Gezels\, tenor Matteo Straffi\, and harpsichordist Deniel Perer. \n \n  \nhttps://youtu.be/mjZQdcn1fgc \nCREDITS \nDirection and Visuals: Fabio CherstichChoreography and Stage Movement: Philippe KratzMusic: Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Claudio MonteverdiDancers: Alessia Giacomelli\, Kiran GezelsSinger: Matteo StraffiHarpsichord: Deniel Perer \n \nCo-production: Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, Teatro Regio di Parma / Festival Verdi\, Torinodanza Festival – Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale\, Ghislierimusica – Centro di Musica Antica \n \nIl Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda is a project for the promotion of live performance in museums and cultural heritage sites\, supported by the Directorate-General for Museums and co-financed by the Directorate-General for Performing Arts. \n \nFor the implementation of the project\, the National Museums of Perugia – Regional Directorate of National Museums of Umbria – and in particular the National Archaeological Museum and Roman Theatre of Spoleto\, with the support of the Directorate-General for Museums\, have established a partnership with five other major cultural sites: Villa Pisani in Stra\, the Castle and Park of Racconigi\, the Swabian Castle of Bari\, the Certosa di San Martino in Naples\, and the Archaeological Park of Venosa. In addition\, Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome will host the initiative as part of the summer festival Sotto l’angelo di Castello. \n \n\n \n  \nThe project is part of Italia Danza\, a co-designed initiative by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CCN/Aterballetto\, aimed at promoting Italy’s artistic heritage abroad. \nBODIES AS MIRRORS \nIn my vision of Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda\, I imagine a confined\, circular space\, where proximity and the resemblance of bodies play a fundamental role. Together with choreographer Philippe Kratz\, we explore the idea of bodies as mirrors\, thus narrating a humanity in conflict with itself. Eros and Thanatos emerge as equally powerful forces\, creating a paradoxical atmosphere in this perfectly balanced struggle between human beings. In our vision\, Tancredi and Clorinda are contemporary warriors\, indissolubly bound to one another\, compelled to fight and to enact a story already written. \n \nA single voice will give life to three characters: the text itself\, Tancredi\, and Clorinda will merge into the body and sound of one singer. This estranged sound\, constrained by a circular path\, creates a sense of constant repetition\, underlining the endless cycle of this story of love and death—destined\, tragically\, to repeat itself through the centuries and to reach us with all its force\, as an emanation of Tasso’s poetic power and Monteverdi’s sublime music. \n \nFabio Cherstich\, Director \nSTRUGGLE WITHIN \nIn Tasso’s tale\, set to music by Claudio Monteverdi\, the most obvious themes are the struggle between man and woman and religious conversion\, but these are also the aspects I find least intriguing: when adapted into dance\, they risk becoming a mere narration of factual circumstances. \n \nA more philosophical or psychoanalytic reading of this struggle—one from which both protagonists emerge defeated\, deceived\, and solitary—strikes me as far more compelling. Within the opposition of the two roles lies an entire world: the search for one another\, the confrontation\, the wounding of each other. The dynamic is that of a warlike\, conflictual ritual between two entities drawing close. The absurdity of the act becomes clear when one of the two loses their life\, and we realize that the other\, in any case\, has not won… a deep\, shared wound remains\, inscribed on both bodies. So\, are they two people fighting one another\, or perhaps one person struggling with themselves? \n \nPhilippe Kratz\, Choreographer \n\n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Francesco Marilungo’s Cani lunari is the opening event of the autumn edition of Danza in Fonderia.\n  \nFrancesco Marilungo inaugurates Antologie. New Readings of the Body\, the Danza in Fonderia series\, with the open rehearsal of his latest work. Cani lunari reveals the first fragments of his new creation. Inspired by a rare lunar optical phenomenon and steeped in ancestral symbols\, the piece delves into the imagery of the witch\, the healer\, the sorceress: figures on the margins of society\, suspended between fear and desire\, science and magic\, exclusion and power. \nhttps://vimeo.com/1048362306 \nCredits \nChoreography and Direction: Francesco MarilungoWith: Vera Di Lecce\, Barbara Novati\, Roberta Racis\, Alice Raffaelli\, Francesca Linnea UgoliniCostumes: Lessico FamiliareMusic and Vocal Coaching: Vera Di LecceLighting Design: Gianni StaropoliPhotography and Video: Luca Del Pia \n \nProduction: Körper | National Dance Production CentreCo-production: SNAPORAZVEREIN\, IRA Institute \n \nWith the support of ResiDance – an initiative of the Anticorpi XL Network\,Tuscany Residency Centre (Fondazione Armunia Castiglioncello – CapoTrave/Kilowatt Sansepolcro)\,AMAT – Associazione Marchigiana per le Attività Teatrali\,Consorzio PUGLIA CULTURE – Regional Consortium for Arts and Culture\,in collaboration with Associazione Menhir / festival LE DANZATRICI en plein air in Ruvo di Puglia and Ass. Atmospheric phenomena that folk tradition once read as omens of storms\, but also as signals of transition—visual thresholds into the invisible. \nCANI LUNARI is a choreographic project that crosses these thresholds and immerses itself in an imaginary rooted in the archaic feminine\, in magical knowledge\, in ecstatic bodies. A sensitive inquiry into the figure of the witch\, the healer: not as folkloric residue or demonized stereotype\, but as the emblem of marginal yet powerful knowledge\, resisting the logic of utility and visibility.\n \nThrough a process of research combining archival materials\, oral testimonies\, folkloric iconographies\, and bodily practices\, CANI LUNARI builds a performative rite in which the body dances trance\, ecstasy\, metamorphosis. The performers\, holding taxidermy crows—souls released\, spirit animals\, threshold guides—enact gestures suspended between ritual and fiction\, magic and theatrical play. Movement feeds on fragmentations\, limps\, archaic gestures\, and sudden slips into animality\, evoking a world where the boundary between human and beyond-human is porous and mutable. The body moves “above water and above wind\,” echoing ancient formulas that still resonate in some Italian territories at the margins. \n \nAt the heart of the project lies a reflection on the hysterical body\, a feminine site of crisis and enigma\, historically linked to the figure of the witch and to states of possession. The 19th-century photographs of the Salpêtrière become symbolic material to embody: bodies out of control\, traversed by the invisible\, performing a different kind of knowledge. The witch’s body becomes a threshold-organism between dimensions—as John Cotta once wrote\, “not a traveler between worlds\, but the site of encounter between different spheres of being.” \n \nCANI LUNARI recalls a knowledge that is both political and sensorial\, an embodied epistemology. The soul—bird or breath—leaves the mouth\, flies\, detaches\, and then returns to the body. As in the confessions extorted from persecuted women—often visionaries\, storytellers\, healers—the body becomes narrative\, ritual of healing\, exercise in survival. The soundscape\, created by Vera Di Lecce\, interweaves electronics and natural sound\, oral chants and magical formulas\, in a score suspended between the earthly and the divine. \nCANI LUNARI is a crossing\, a white sabbath\, a collective ritual to re-enchant the world.\n \nFrancesco Marilungo \nAfter studying Engineering and conducting research at the Von Karman Institute in Brussels\, Francesco Marilungo attended the Theatre-Dance Atelier at Paolo Grassi in Milan. Since 2010\, he has worked with internationally renowned choreographers such as Julie Anne Stanzak\, Masaki Iwana\, Yasmine Hugonnet\, Jan Fabre\, and Romeo Castellucci. Over the years\, he has performed for Enzo Cosimi\, Antonio Marras\, and Alessandro Sciarroni. He then began his own artistic path\, seeking a personal language at the intersection of performance\, dance\, and visual arts. \n \nParadise\, winner of the NEXT 2015/2016 call in Lombardy\, was selected by Anticorpi XL for the 2016 Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore. Love Souvenir (2018) won the Inteatro Festival call and the Lombardy NEXT 2017/2018 call. With Party Girl\, he received the Prospettiva Danza Award 2020 and the Cross Award 2020\, and was selected for the Nid Platform 2021. Stuporosa premiered at Short Theatre Rome in September 2023 and began an international tour. In 2024\, Stuporosa was presented at the Nid Platform in the programming section and won the 2024 UBU Award for Best Dance Performance. \n \nHis new project\, Cani Lunari\, winner of the Premio CollaborAction – Anticorpi XL Network\, will premiere in September 2025. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS\nFull price: €3Free admission: under 6 \n \nTICKET PURCHASE \n \nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspxFonderia Box Office: opens one hour before the performance (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia). \n \nTickets are unreserved (general admission). \n \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \n \nPhone & WhatsApp: +39 334 1023554Email: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

The performance\, created by Fabio Cherstich and Philippe Kratz\, is interpreted by dancers Alessia Giacomelli and Kiran Gezels. \n \nhttps://youtu.be/mjZQdcn1fgc \nCREDITS \n\nDirection and Visuals: Fabio CherstichChoreography and Stage Movement: Philippe KratzMusic: Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Claudio Monteverdi (recorded music by Matteo Straffi\, tenor\, and Deniel Perer\, harpsichord)Dancers: Alessia Giacomelli\, Kiran Gezels \nCo-production: Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, Teatro Regio di Parma / Festival Verdi\, Torinodanza Festival – Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale\, Ghislierimusica – Centro di Musica Antica \n\n \nIl Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda is a project for the promotion of live performance in museums and cultural heritage sites\, supported by the Directorate-General for Museums and co-financed by the Directorate-General for Performing Arts. \n \nFor the implementation of the project\, the National Museums of Perugia – Regional Directorate of National Museums of Umbria – and in particular the National Archaeological Museum and Roman Theatre of Spoleto\, with the support of the Directorate-General for Museums\, have established a partnership involving five other major cultural venues: Villa Pisani in Stra\, the Castle and Park of Racconigi\, the Swabian Castle of Bari\, the Certosa di San Martino in Naples\, and the Archaeological Park of Venosa. In addition\, Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome will host the initiative as part of the summer festival Sotto l’angelo di Castello. \n \n  \nThe project is part of Italia Danza\, a co-designed initiative by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CCN/Aterballetto\, aimed at promoting Italian artistic heritage abroad. \nBODIES AS MIRROR \nIn my vision of Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda\, I imagine a confined\, circular space\, where proximity and the likeness of bodies play a fundamental role. This estranged sound\, constrained by a circular path\, creates a sense of constant repetition\, emphasizing the endless cycle of this tale of love and death—destined\, tragically\, to repeat itself through the centuries and to reach us with all its force\, as an emanation of Tasso’s poetic power and Monteverdi’s sublime music.

SUMMARY:Caracalla Danza
DESCRIPTION:CARACALLA DANZA\nFIRST EDITION · SEPTEMBER 26–28\nA new initiative by the Special Superintendency of Rome and CCN/AterballettoGuest company: Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart \n \nIn collaboration with Romaeuropa Festival 2025 \nAn extraordinary site\, with its archaeological heritage unique in the world\, has since 2024 hosted a stage suspended above a pool of water—an installation created to bring water\, its essential element\, back to the Baths of Caracalla\, where the monument is reflected. \n \nWith Caracalla Danza\, the Special Superintendency of Rome\, in co-design with CCN/Aterballetto—returning to the space it inaugurated on April 13\, 2024\, to the notes of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue—places dance at the center of a new model for enhancing a unique heritage site. \n \nCCN/Aterballetto will perform the lunar duet Reconciliatio by Angelin Preljocaj and present the world premiere of a new creation by Diego Tortelli\, conceived to be danced in the water itself. The stage will also be shared with one of Europe’s leading companies\, Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart\, directed by Eric Gauthier\, performing works by Marco Goecke\, Hofesh Shechter\, and Sharon Eyal. \n \nOn September 26\, 27\, and 28\, Caracalla Danza will be launched with three evenings that\, in the coming years\, will establish themselves as a recurring September event\, following the major restoration works at the Baths of Caracalla. \n\nINFO & TICKETS\n \nThe performances will begin shortly before sunset\, approximately between 5:45 pm and 6:00 pm. Admission to the stage area will be possible starting at 5:00 pm. Entry to the seating area will not be permitted once the performance has started. \n \nTickets:From €20 \n \nTickets available from September 3 on\nMusei Italiani:\nwww.museiitaliani.it\nApp Musei Italiani available on Google Play and on App Store \nEVENING PROGRAM\nSharon Eyal: ALONE\nWith the dancers of Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart. Rome premiere. \n \nChoreography and Costumes: Sharon EyalSound Design: Josef LaimonMusic: ElizaLighting Design: Alon CohenAssistant to the Choreographer: Clyde Emmanuel Archer \n \nWith ALONE\, Sharon Eyal returns to the large ensemble that made her renowned. The choreographer demonstrates the hypnotic power of synchrony and the extraordinary dynamics of a body-as-machine organism. Subtle variations or serial transformations disrupt the order of her groups of dancers; individuals break free from the repetitive patterns of an apparently post-human society. \nMarco Goecke: Monstruo Grande\nWith two dancers of Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart. Rome premiere. \n \nChoreography: Marco GoeckeMusic: Mercedes SosaLighting Design: Mario DaszeniesCostumes: Michaela Springer \n \nMarco Goecke’s creation stands out for its precision and energy. Set to the powerful music of Mercedes Sosa\, this duet unfolds in a performance full of dynamic movement and emotional tension\, captivating the audience from the very first moment. \nAngelin Preljocaj: RECONCILIATIO\n  \nWith Estelle Bovay and Arianna Kob\, dancers of CCN/Aterballetto. Rome premiere \n \nChoreography: Angelin PreljocajMusic: Ludwig van Beethoven\, Piano Sonata No. 14 “Moonlight”Costumes: Igor ChapurinLighting: Cécile GiovansiliAssistant to the Choreographer: Claudia De SmetRestaging from the 2010 creation Suivront mille ans de calmeProduction: Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / AterballettoCo-production: Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Bologna \n \nDance\, the art of the unspeakable par excellence\, has the delicate power to reveal our fears\, anxieties\, and hopes by evoking them. The duet chosen to embody the theme of reconciliation is drawn from Suivront mille ans de calme (A Thousand Years of Calm Will Follow)\, a work imbued with a poetic and impressionistic vein\, inspired by an attentive though non-literal reading of the Apocalypse. \n \nFor the choreographer\, neither in the original work nor in this female duet—adapted for Memorare 2024 at the Basilica of San Petronio in Bologna—should one seek precise references to St. John’s text. As the etymology of the word apocalypse suggests—“to lift the veil”—it is instead a matter of revealing\, uncovering\, bringing to light elements present in our world yet hidden from our gaze. These emerge\, visible and invisible\, in the delicate relationship between the two protagonists of the duet. \nMarco Goecke: INFANT SPIRIT\nWith the dancers of Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart. Rome premiere \n \nChoreography: Marco GoeckeLighting Design: Udo HaberlandCostumes: Michaela SpringerMusic: Antony and the Johnsons \n \nThe initial spark that led Marco Goecke toward dance came from the legendary company of his hometown\, Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. Although he only met the pioneer of dance-theatre a few times\, she nevertheless played an important role in his career—even long after he had left Wuppertal. In 2004\, she invited the young choreographer to present his works Blushing and Mopey at the festival 30 Years of Tanztheater Wuppertal. To this day\, Goecke’s gratitude is evident when he speaks of how much that trust meant to him. His solo Infant Spirit is a tribute to Pina Bausch\, to whom the choreographer owes so much. \nHofesh Shechter: BONUS TRACK\nWith the dancers of Gauthier Dance // Theaterhaus Stuttgart. Italian premiere \n \nChoreography and Composition: Hofesh ShechterLighting Design: Mario DaszeniesCostumes: Gudrun Schretzmeier & Hofesh ShechterRehearsal Director: Kim Kohlmann \n \nEric Gauthier asked Hofesh Shechter\, resident artist of his company\, to create a choreography that could stand as an independent work—adaptable for touring and ideally suited for outdoor performances. The goal was to produce a truly accessible piece\, one that would bring contemporary dance especially to younger audiences. \n \nFor those familiar with Shechter\, it comes as no surprise that he embraced this challenge with ease—particularly since the origins of Bonus Track lie precisely in an outreach project. Some time ago\, Shechter had adapted elements of his choreography Clowns for a series of open-air performances in London with a reduced cast of eight dancers. From that foundation\, he created a new version tailor-made for and with Gauthier Dance\, also reworking his own soundtrack—once again\, as always\, original. \nDiego Tortelli: LIMEN\nWith Estelle Bovay and Arianna Kob\, dancers of CCN/Aterballetto \n \nChoreography: Diego TortelliCostumes: SportmaxMusic: Weyes BloodNew production created especially for the Baths of Caracalla\, world premiere \n \nLimen (from the Latin: threshold — between real and reflected\, between presence and dissolution) is a choreographic dialogue between two female presences emerging from the veil of water as if from an invisible threshold. They mirror each other\, brush against one another\, seek and dissolve\, like unstable reflections on the liquid skin of the surface. \n \nTheir dance moves along the boundary — between body and echo\, between gesture and memory\, between what appears and what fades away. The work reactivates the memory of the site — once a temple of the body\, of care\, of collective ritual — and transforms it into an intimate\, circular\, almost whispered gesture. The two dancers do not embody characters\, but mirrored forces\, twin archetypes seeking one another without ever fully coinciding\, like two halves of a reflected image trembling in the water. \nGauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart\nGauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart is a young and dynamic company of 16 highly individual and versatile artists\, led by dancer\, choreographer\, musician\, and charismatic dance ambassador Eric Gauthier. Founded in October 2007\, the company quickly established itself on the German dance scene and has long since become an internationally recognized name. \n \nIts repertoire includes works by Gauthier himself as well as by renowned contemporary choreographers such as Mauro Bigonzetti\, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui\, Marie Chouinard\, Sharon Eyal\, Andonis Foniadakis\, William Forsythe\, Itzik Galili\, Jiří Kylián\, Lightfoot/León\, Hans van Manen\, Marcos Morau\, Ohad Naharin\, and Sasha Waltz. \n \nIn addition to performances at its home base Theaterhaus Stuttgart\, the company regularly tours major international dance capitals\, including Toronto\, New York\, Tel Aviv\, Venice\, Amsterdam\, St. Petersburg\, Munich\, Québec City\, Montréal\, Berlin\, and Chicago. Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart was highlighted as a “German Highlight” in the 2022 yearbook of the specialist magazine tanz. \n \nAlongside its growing acclaim\, Gauthier Dance has strengthened collaborations with world-renowned choreographers—especially with resident artists Marco Goecke (January 2019 to summer 2023)\, Hofesh Shechter (since 2021)\, and Barak Marshall (from the 2024/25 season). Even during the pandemic\, the company did not stop\, launching an inspiring initiative that drew wide attention beyond the dance world: between winter and spring 2021\, 16 choreographers\, 16 filmmakers\, and 16 composers each created a solo for one of the company’s members. The Dying Swans Project is still available free of charge on the media library of the German broadcaster 3sat. The project was enthusiastically received\, even catching the attention of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany\, Frank-Walter Steinmeier\, who arranged a video call with Eric Gauthier to learn more. \n \nRecent highlights include the themed evening Swan Lakes (2021)\, with world premieres by Marie Chouinard\, Marco Goecke\, Hofesh Shechter\, and Cayetano Soto; The Seven Sins (2022)\, in which Aszure Barton\, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui\, Sharon Eyal\, Marco Goecke\, Marcos Morau\, Hofesh Shechter\, and Sasha Waltz each transformed a deadly sin into a choreographic creation; the 2022/23 season’s 15th-anniversary celebration 15 YEARS ALIVE; and in 2024\, ELEMENTS\, featuring world premieres by Mauro Bigonzetti\, Sharon Eyal\, Andonis Foniadakis\, and Louise Lecavalier. \n \nThe 2024/25 season brought two spectacular new productions: FireWorks\, in which Mauro Bigonzetti\, Virginie Brunelle\, Stijn Celis\, Dominique Dumais\, Andonis Foniadakis\, Marco Goecke\, Johan Inger\, Barak Marshall\, Benjamin Millepied\, and Sofia Nappi each created a short new work to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Theaterhaus as a cultural landmark for Stuttgart; and in summer 2025\, the company opened the COLOURS International Dance Festival with the world premiere of The Turning of Bones\, created by international choreography star Akram Khan. \n \nBeyond its “traditional” performance activities\, Gauthier Dance has stood out since its founding for its pioneering socio-cultural initiatives. With Gauthier Dance Mobile\, the company brings dance to those unable to attend the theatre\, performing in nursing homes\, hospitals\, and facilities for people with disabilities. In 2022\, Theaterhaus and Eric Gauthier launched a new chapter of this program with the MOVES FOR FUTURE initiative\, involving the new youth company. The Gauthier Dance JUNIORS // Theaterhaus Stuttgart ignite enthusiasm for dance among younger generations through numerous school performances across the region\, showing remarkable maturity in their own independent productions\, which rival those of their more experienced colleagues. \n \nwww.theaterhaus.com/de/gauthier
