SUMMARY:EQUAL TO MEN
DESCRIPTION:The Amazons. \nThe immortal myth of warrior women riding fiery horses\, wielding bows\, vigorous legs amid a storm\, threatening eyes on delicate faces. Beautiful\, young\, resolute\, ready to defend their independence with swords and arrows. \nThe archetype of the Amazons\, women warriors inferior to no man\, wishes to encourage a reflection on contemporary society and women’s roles. Homerus described them as “equal to men”\, a sign of respect in the patriarchal society of ancient Greece. \nThe performance is within the summer festival DANZA AI CHIOSTRI curated by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia. \n          \n \nCREDITS \nChoreography and set concept: Roberta Ferrara\nLighting Design: Roberta Ferrara\nCostumes: Franco Colamorea \nDuration: 15 minutes \nWinning performance for Best Choreography and Best Dancer categories at SoloTanz Festival 2018 \nRecommended by Network Danza Urbana 2018 & Vetrina della Giovane Danza D’autore Anticorpi XL 2019 \nEQUILIBRIO DINAMICO \nThe Equilibrio Dinamico company was founded in Apulia in 2011 by Roberta Ferrara\, a choreographer\, in order to offer a selected group of dancers from Southern Italy the opportunity to compete in an eclectic repertoire of international standing. The openness to quality experimentation\, a painstaking and effective dramaturgical work\, define the production of Ferrara herself and of the choreographers called to collaborate with Equilibrio Dinamico. In 2014 Vincenzo Losito joined the company\, taking on the role of organisational and production manager\, and contributing to increasing the group’s international visibility. Thanks to an effective network of exchanges with Europe and Asia\, supported by the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese and\, among others\, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Cologne\, Mexico\, New York\, Athens\, Sao Paulo of Brazil\, San Francisco and Zagreb\, the company performs in countries such as the United States\, Mexico\, Singapore\, Belgium\, Germany\, Greece\, Albania\, Kosovo\, India\, Japan\, Spain\, Brazil\, ODT International – Singapore\, Korea Ballet House – Seoul\, Staatstheater Ballet Augsburg – Germany and Teatrul De Balet Sibiu – Romania. \nequilibriodinamico.org \nINFO&TICKETS \nThe performance takes place at the Chiostro Piccolo of the Chiostri di San Pietro complex. \nTICKETS\nSingle seat 5 €. \nThe performances at the Chiostro Piccolo entitle you to a reduction on the tickets for the performances of the review DANZA AI CHIOSTRI at the Chiostro grande: reduced ticket at € 8 instead of € 10 \nINFO & TICKET RESERVATION\ninfo@aterballetto.it / 0522 273016 / 334 1023554 (Whatsapp) \nTICKET PURCHASE\nOnline www.biglietteriafonderia39.it\nAt the Chiostri San Pietro: from one hour before the start of the performance

SUMMARY:HUMAN BEHAVIOUR
DESCRIPTION:The Greek National Opera Ballet presents a modern dance triptych composed of Point of No Return by Ioannis Mandafounis\, Lieder ohne Worte by Konstantinos Rigos\, director of the ensemble\, and Plan B by Ermira Goro. The choreographies move between classical and modern styles\, giving the dancers the opportunity to experiment with new dance forms\, accompanied by the music of Giorgos Koumendakis\, Dimitri Terzakis and Dimitra Trypani. \n \nLead Donor of the Greek National Opera \n \nAegean Airlines\nOfficial Air Carrier \n \n  \nThe performance is within the summer festival DANZA AI CHIOSTRI curated by Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia. \n          \nPOINT OF NO RETURN \nChoreographer\, costume supervisor: Ioannis Mandafounis\nMusic: Giorgos Koumendakis\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas \nHuman Behaviour_Point of No Return_Photo Andreas Simopoulos \nIn Point of No Return\, the internationally recognised dancer and choreographer Ioannis Mandafounis composes a modern piece out of dance elements deeply rooted in the tradition of classical ballet. In tune with the music of Giorgos Koumendakis\, the GNO Ballet dancers focus on the transparency and authenticity of their moves via the arsenal of classical ballet steps. Although the group experience of their bodies reveals an extremely classical choreographical approach\, one may discern the personal identity of the performers as well as a particularly modern treatment of presence and interpretation of movement – obvious elements that indicate the choreographer’s regular touch. \n“Guided by the title Point of No Return\, this dance piece highlights classical technique as performed by a dancer of today\, without falsifying it. Joy\, communication\, complex choreography and performing immediacy are some of the elements presented by the dancers and shared with the public\,” according to Ioannis Mandafounis. Giorgos Koumendakis’ music follows the example of the “anonymous” folksong creators\, “recasting or recomposing traditional musical themes while retaining their energy and subtlety\, the authenticity of their primordial model\, their pulse and their soul.” \nThe choreography Point of No Return is a co-production of the GNO and the CIE Ioannis Mandafounis. The CIE Ioannis Mandafounis benefits from the joint support of the City of Geneva\, the State of Geneva and the Pro Helvetia – Swiss Art Council for the 2018-2023 period. \nLieder ohne Worte \nChoreographer\, set designer: Konstantinos Rigos\nMusic: Dimitri Terzakis\nCostume designer: Yiorgos Mesimeris\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas\nAssociate architect: Mary Tsangari \n \nThe GNO Ballet director Konstantinos Rigos bases his choreography for the second part of this “alternative journey” on three works by the accomplished Greek-German composer Dimitri Terzakis\, inspired by modern Greek history and the legacy of ancient Greece. The delicate Sprüche im Wind consists of ten brief\, succinct “haikus” for violin and piano. The work Der Hölle Nachklang I constitutes the composer’s emotionally charged reaction to his unbearable childhood memories of the German Occupation of Greece during his early childhood in Athens in the years 1941-1944\, while the third piece\, Lieder ohne Worte\, is an apotheosis of melody based on the musical system of antiquity. \nThe composer notes: “To present the infinitesimal melodic nuances and rapidly changing characters\, the interpretation of this composition may and must be endlessly free\, poetic\, song-like\, speech-like and\, yes\, ‘old-fashioned’ – like in the theatre of ancient Greece.” \nPLAN B \nChoreographer: Ermira Goro\nMusic: Dimitra Trypani\nSet & costume designer: Christos Delidimos\nLighting designer: Christos Tziogkas \n \nErmira Goro\, a movement and dance theatre artist always in search for new forms of researching and communicating her ideas\, says about the choreography of Plan B: \n“Plan B is a choreographic experiment on rigorously structured\, asymmetrical sonic forms. The dancers move through space in a constantly shifting flux from the particular to the abstract and vice-versa. Plan B\, because Plan A proved impossible and Plan C is already taking place.” In tandem\, the composer Dimitra Trypani likens her music to a “sonic impression of an imaginary videogame in a single-level environment which is to be traversed by the player. However\, within this level\, there are many ‘trap-rooms’ in quick\, unexpected succession\, often without warning. The player’s goal\, of course\, is to survive until they exit the last ‘trap-room’ of the game.” \nInfo&Tickets \nThe performance takes place at the Chiostro Grande of the Chiostri di San Pietro complex. \nTICKETS\nSingle seat 10 €. \nThe performances at the Chiostro Piccolo at h 19.30 entitle you to a reduction on the tickets for the performances of the review DANZA AI CHIOSTRI at the Chiostro grande: reduced ticket at € 8 instead of € 10 \nINFO & TICKET RESERVATION\ninfo@aterballetto.it / 0522 273016 / 334 1023554 (Whatsapp) \nTICKET PURCHASE\nOnline www.biglietteriafonderia39.it\nAt the Chiostri San Pietro: from one hour before the start of the performance \n\n

SUMMARY:Shoot me - Secus
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto is back in the spotlight at the Operaestate festival in Bassano del Grappa with SHOOT ME and Secus\, two choreographies that between plasticity and energy seem to translate Canova’s work into movement. \nFor the creation SHOOT ME\, choreographer Diego Tortelli reinterprets the idea of the concert-ballet in a contemporary key: music and dance thus accompany each other in a composition without narrative\, but which guides the spectator to create open imagery and to feel emotions\, inspired by the imagery of demonstrations\, pride\, catwalks… everything that connects in a group and that at the same time allows one not to lose one’s own voice. A work that puts the dancers on stage and the audience in the stalls in direct contact: a game of seduction\, of glances\, an assault on the senses and an ode to the body. \n  \n\nSecus\, on the other hand\, is a creation by Ohad Naharin\, boasting a musical collage that stretches from the unusual electronic styles of AGF to the seductive Indian melodies of Kaho Naa Pyar Hai\, to the resonant harmonies of the Beach Boys. An adventurously eclectic mix\, which serves as a backdrop for a daring and extravagant choreography: in which a human alphabet is composed of runs\, solos\, terse and clean gestures\, interrupted duets\, which\, through precise and sudden gestures\, expresses pure emotions and feelings without becoming sentimental. Joy\, vulnerability\, fear\, innocence\, confusion and anger weave a harmonious and dynamic canvas that oscillates between delicacy and exaggeration. \n\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:MicroDanze - urban setting
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Operaestate Festival we offer the urban version of MicroDances. \nSome MicroDances are at the center of a process of reenactment: a transposition of the original versions for young dancers and public spaces aimed at the creation of an urban version. \nThe result is a project that creatively wanders among very different contexts – historical centers\, industrial areas\, residual spaces\, symbolic places of the cities – defining unusual stages and creating radically new opportunities to meet the public. The leitmotif of the three experiments is research into dance as a form of living\, in relation to contemporary artistic practices that are rooted in the territory. \nThe micro/macro relationship established by the confrontation with the urban space is the same that articulates the conceptual space of the choreography and the lived space\, as well as the dialectic I/other\, activated by the transmission of the choreographies to the dancers in training who become mediators of an unprecedented experience. \nThe binary gaze that links spectator↔artwork becomes a performer-spectator-urban landscape triangulation. \nMicroDances performed at Operaestate festival are: Turn the Tide by Roberto Tedesco\, Eppur si muove by Francesca Lattuada\, Pensieri di Carta by Hélias Tur-Dorvault\, Strôma by Giovanni Insaudo. \nMicroDanze reenactment -Strôma di Giovanni Insaudo \n

SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto’s first performance of the 2022-23 season is in Bucharest with Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger. \nThe choreography comes from Inger’s desire to confront Don Juan\, a paradigmatic myth that is both ancient and still contemporary. The original comedy by Tirso de Molina\, Molière\, Bertold Brecht and the play by Suzanne Lilar are just some of the sources of inspiration: Inger and playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl consulted twenty-five different texts inspired by the character. \nIn the creation we find all the characters of the story\, from Donna Elvira to Donna Anna to Zerlina and Masetto. Don Juan can be considered a Kammerspiel\, with its ability to emphasise nuances and emotions: and in the case of this creation\, dance becomes a magnifying glass for the individual characters\, subtly but clearly revealing the inner world of the men and women on stage. \nDanza&Danza Award ‘Best Production’ 2020 \n

SUMMARY:LOVE POEMS - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\n\nOpen rehearsals are unique moments in which one can experience the backstage of a performance\, dialogue with the artists and be surprised by the art of dance. \nUnder the title LOVE POEMS\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company presents an evening composed of three new choreographies all under the sign of contemporary: \n– DUETTO INOFFENSIVO (excerpt from ‘Rossini Cards’) by MAURO BIGONZETTI restaged for MMCDC \n– BRUTAL LOVE POEMS by THOMAS NOONE \n– VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI by MICHELE MEROLA. \nThe three works are performed by eight dancers from MMCDC\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of performances throughout the country.\nThe choreographies of the programme\, linked by the common denominator of a distinctive musicality\, are characterised by a strong implication as much interpretative as technical\, which will highlight the stylistic versatility and extraordinary skill of the company’s dancers. From one piece to the next\, the dance will become one with the music\, marrying its compositional richness thanks to choreographies that emphasise movement\, plasticity\, but also the importance of the single gesture. \n  \n  \nDUETTO INOFFENSIVO \nExcerpt from ‘Rossini Cards \nChoreography: Mauro Bigonzetti\nMusic: Gioachino Rossini\nAssistant to choreography: Roberto Zamorano\nLighting design: Carlo Cerri\nCostumes: Helena De Medeiros\nWith 2 dancers \nA passionate and intense duet by Mauro Bigonzetti: in the two women on stage there is sharing\, understanding\, but also disagreement\, and we find condensed the characters and stories of several female characters. Their encounter\, in a continuous repetition and alternation of complicity and conflict\, gives rise to an exchange of energies\, feelings and emotions linked to the disappointments of love. \n\nBRUTAL LOVE POEMS \nChoreography: Thomas Noone\nMusic: Jim Pinchen\nWith 4 dancers \n“I love you so much that I am in pain. I hope you suffer as much as I do …” \nRaw and dynamic\, Brutal Love Poems explores the ‘wild’ side that we hide within us and that only reveals itself in our most intimate moments. Somehow this revelation\, of our most primordial\, terrible and brutal being\, is perhaps only ever manifested in front of those closest to us\, the person we love.\nAn abstract\, non-narrative work\, in which the resonance of movements echoes and combines to form a whole\, seeking to entertain\, provoke and seduce. \n\n  \n  \n VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI \nChoreography: Michele Merola\nMusic: Antonio Vivaldi\nLighting design: Cristina Spelti\nCostumes: Carlotta Montanari\nWith 7 dancers \nCo-production Teatro Ristori di Verona\nNational Premiere: 1 February 2019 – Teatro Ristori\, Verona \nWith each creation\, Michele Merola aims higher\, convinced that it is possible to express\, in dance\, joys\, tenderness\, anger\, expectations\, impulses\, torments. For the choreographer\, returning the fire of passions to bodies contaminated by life has always been a conditio sine qua non for representing the meaning of existence on Earth. And it is in the pages of the great composers that Merola loves to search for perspectives\, symmetries\, assonances between human feeling and music. His encounter with Antonio Vivaldi springs from this desire\, for a new production where ‘the relationship between music and movement plays the lion’s share’\, says Merola. \nStarting with Vivaldi’s best pieces and suggestions from the paintings of Marc Chagall\, Michele Merola has created Vivaldi Umane passioni: “With Vivaldi and baroque music\, I rediscover a love for pure choreographic design\, while the inspiration I find in Marc Chagall’s paintings – works such as The Birthday (1915)\, On the City (1918)\, Love on the Scene (1920)\, Introduction to Jewish Theatre (1920) – \, has guided my work towards human passions\, the evasion from the everyday to detach oneself from the ground\, listening to inner emotions. In both artists\, I sense a great desire for life\, beauty\, elegance in living’. \nSome of the composer’s best-known scores are mirrored in Merola’s journeys: the violin concertos La Follia\, L’Inquietudine\, L’Estro Armonico\, and Il Favorito best express the sentiments that punctuate one’s life. Faced with this supreme grace\, the vortex of sonorous intensity and richness of timbre\, Merola pushes the accelerator of movement dynamics to develop new reflections. As an ‘athlete of the heart’\, and of its most secret recesses\, the choreographer visualises those themes with intimate involvement and a strongly contemporary slant\, sculpting them in dance and in the air with the same passion and fury dictated by the notes. SUMMARY:LOVE POEMS
DESCRIPTION:Under the title LOVE POEMS\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company presents an evening composed of three new choreographies all under the sign of contemporary: \n– DUETTO INOFFENSIVO (excerpt from ‘Rossini Cards’) by MAURO BIGONZETTI restaged for MMCDC \n– BRUTAL LOVE POEMS by THOMAS NOONE \n– VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI by MICHELE MEROLA. Fuelled by the two arts\, the dialogue that is created\, intense\, balanced in terms of the balance of forces\, enriches and nourishes the spectator’s imagination with complexity and compositional richness. It is a chess game in which music and bodies chase each other\, confront each other\, overlap\, in a representational dynamic that the union makes even more intense. \nErmanno Romanelli \n\n  \n  \nMM Contemporary Dance Company \nThe MM Contemporary Dance Company is a contemporary dance company directed by choreographer Michele Merola\, founded in 1999 as a production centre for events and performances and as a promoter of festivals and workshops with the aim of fostering exchanges and alliances between Italian and international artists\, witnesses and spokesmen of contemporary culture. \nThe repertoire of the company\, which is based in Reggio Emilia\, is rich and varied\, thanks to works by Michele Merola and creations by European and Italian choreographers such as Maguy Marin\, Mats Ek\, Mauro Bigonzetti\, Thomas Noone\, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano\, Karl Alfred Schreiner\, Eugenio Scigliano\, Emanuele Soavi\, Enrico Morelli\, Daniele Ninarello\, Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi\, Roberto Tedesco\, and Camilla Monga. \nIn 2010\, the MM Contemporary Dance Company won the prestigious Danza&Danza Award as the best emerging company and today\, it is\, to all intents and purposes\, a reality of excellence in Italian dance\, with a consolidated activity of performances throughout the country. SUMMARY:Double Side
DESCRIPTION:The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto premieres its new production Double Side in its hometown Reggio Emilia\, in the framework of Festival Aperto. \nBaroque music and contemporary dance are combined in the new programme of the Italian Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, which features two choreographers from Canada and Cuba who are little known in Italy\, Danièle Desnoyers and Norge Cedeño Raffo. In close collaboration with the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini from Parma\, its orchestral counterpart from Emilia-Romagna Region\, the renowned company brings along a musical ensemble of singers and string players\, dancing to a baroque suite and a “Stabat Mater” by Arvo Pärt. \n \nSynopsis \nThe Cuban Norge Cedeño Raffo creates to religious music\, of all things. The young\, up-and-coming choreographer was a soloist with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba\, the most important contemporary company in Cuba. Arvo Pärt’s “Stabat Mater” becomes a painful farewell work for him. The Estonian composer set the medieval text about the pain of the Mother of God to music in his characteristic\, reduced style. The moving effect of this music also characterises the expressive\, free and\, in the most beautiful sense\, pure dance: how can one find hope again in a destroyed world and after such a great loss\, how can one go on living\, Norge Cedeño Raffo asks himself in his work. \n\nChoreographer Danièle Desnoyers comes from Montréal\, the metropolis of modern Canadian dance\, where her light\, fluid style and her own company make her a permanent fixture on the contemporary scene. In addition to a theatrical element\, her pieces always have a strong relationship to music. Her creation for Aterballetto is based on a suite by the Italian composer Federico Gon; the specialist for baroque music was inspired by Henry Purcell. \n  \n \n  \nCredits \nSTABAT MATER\n(Creation for 3 dancers\, 3 musicians\, 3 singers) \nChoreography Norge Cedeño Raffo\nSet and lighting design Fabiana Piccioli\nMusic Stabat Mater by Arvo Pärt\nCostume design Norge Cedeño Raffo and Fabiana Piccioli\nAssistant to the choreographer Thais Suàrez Fernàndez \nWITH DROOPING WINGS\n(Creation for 8 dancers\, 4 strings) \nChoreography Danièle Desnoyers\nMusic An English Suite by Federico Gon after Henry Purcell\nSet and lighting design Fabiana Piccioli\nCostume design Danièle Desnoyers\nWith the support of Délégation du Québec à Rome and Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec \n \n\nCo-design and co-production Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione Arturo Toscanini\nCo-production Festspiele Ludwigshafen\, Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia \nWorld-premiere 23 October 2022\, Reggio Emilia\, Festival Aperto\, Teatro Municipale Romolo Valli (I)\nGerman premiere 9-10 December 2022\, Ludwigshafen\, Theater Im Pfalzbau (D) \n\nDancers Aterballetto Company\nQuartetto Motus for La Toscanini: Giulia Soli\, Agnese Rava violin\, Dario Carrera viola\, Margherita Curti cello\nSoprano: Theodora Io Koutsothodoru\nCountertenor: Nicolò Balducci\nTenor: Kim Bowoo\nMusical coaching: Antonio De Lorenzi \nDocufilm Stabat Mater - Danzare oltre i confini \n\n\nNorge Cedeño Raffo’s creation Stabat Mater inspired Rai5 to make the docufilm Stabat Mater – Danzare oltre i confini (Dancing Beyond Borders). \nThe docufilm closely reports the artistic and human experience of the young talented choreographer\, for the first time in Italy\, and shows his creative process\, in the setting of the Teatro Asioli in Correggio\, a small Italian-style theatre immersed in the Po Valley\, one of the most fascinating and evocative. \nThe filming of the docufilm (directed by Alessandro D’Onghia) began on 29 January 2021 (the choreographer’s first day of work with the three dancers) and ended on 6 March 2021 (the day of the closed-door preview at the Teatro Asioli in Correggio\, with musicians and singers from the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Achille Peri in Reggio Emilia). The airing of the docufilm on Rai5 was on 29 April 2021\, on the occasion of the International Day of Dance. \nMEDIA PARTNER\n \nWatch the docufilm

DESCRIPTION:SHOW FOR CHILDREN (4-8 years old)\nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori (The Little Flower King) is a story about two young people who live opposite each other. The project explores a form of contamination between languages such as dance\, shadow and music\, conceiving it expressly for children. \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is a fairy tale. From the fairy tale there is the classic “Once upon a time” and also the unfailing “King” who\, however\, here is small and curious\, lives alone\, loves his garden and has pockets full of tulip bulbs. In the fairy tale there is also the theme of ‘waiting’\, the King’s long wait before the flowers bloom\, and also that of ‘lack’. Lack of what? The King does not know\, but he does know that his tulips\, though beautiful\, cannot make him happy. So here is the ‘journey’ in search of what can fill his lack. A journey that is like a dream\, on new routes unknown to the King\, that lasts only a day and a night but seems to encompass the time of a lifetime. \n \nIn the morning light\, the king hears a subtle voice coming from a newly opened tulip flower that repeats ‘I am here\, I am here…’. In front of a little princess\, the king\, full of wonder\, asks himself wonders: “Is it you whom I have been searching for so long?”.\nAs in any self-respecting fairy tale\, there is no shortage of ‘and they all lived happily ever after’\, which makes us think that\, yes\, it was indeed her that the King had so long desired. \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is also a story about two young people who live opposite each other. So close and yet so far apart that their eyes have never met. One morning\, however\, she sees him\, all melancholy\, taking care of a small flowerbed in front of their house\, with that attention that is only given to the deepest desires. It is thus\, observing him surreptitiously\, that she begins to write for him\, on little cards\, the fairy tale that will lead them to their happy reunion. \n \nIl piccolo Re dei Fiori is a performance in which the theme of the search for happiness is rendered with lightness and poetry\, thanks to a simple and essential plot and exuberant and imaginative imagery. With the counterpoint of a few but important words\, the tale takes on stage form thanks to a rich musical fabric that accompanies and supports the spectacular shadow images of Teatro Gioco Vita\, taken from the splendid illustrations by Květa Pacovská\, and the expressive gestures of the two dancers from Balletto di Roma\, the result of original choreography by Valerio Longo. \nThe power of a fairy tale is contained in its ability to be incredibly distant and at the same time close to our daily lives. What is required of us in order to access a fairy tale is to agree to make ourselves small\, very small\, to pass through magical and unexpected entrances\, to know how to wait and\, while waiting\, to pay attention to every word\, every gesture\, every shadow in order to be amazed by the fairy tale itself. Thus it is also for us. In this almost archetypal fairy tale\, a king\, an enchanted garden\, waiting\, an unknown desire\, a journey\, a finding oneself in happiness\, come alive in the shadows through music and dance\, and allow everyone’s feelings to be revealed in it. Thus\, as each fairy tale\, word after word\, animates the desires of those who hear it\, so life\, unexpectedly\, leads them to fulfil them. \n \n  \nBalletto di Roma / Teatro Gioco Vita \nBalletto di Roma\, founded in 1960 by Franca Bartolomei and Walter Zappolini\, has always promoted the production and dissemination of Italian auteur dance in Europe and throughout the world\, with a repertoire that today is attentive to innovation and research while maintaining a strong focus on the history and tradition that have made it famous. Over the years\, the Roman theatre has seen a succession of prestigious collaborations and multiple creative souls\, and the production activity has grown\, both in terms of quantity and quality of the works staged during the seasons\, with growing public approval. Starting in 2018\, general director Luciano Carratoni brings a significant generational change to the top of the structure by appointing Francesca Magnini\, a university lecturer at the Sapienza University in Rome\, as artistic director. The new artistic figure strengthens the schemes and broadens the objectives of internationalisation by involving bodies and institutions: among the collaborations is also the one with the Department of History\, Anthropology\, Religions\, Arts and Performing Arts of the Sapienza University of Rome. \nballettodiroma.com \nTeatro Gioco Vita (artistic director Diego Maj) was founded in 1971 from the experience of theatrical animation and with its peculiar way of doing and experiencing theatre it made an original contribution to the birth of children’s theatre. It met shadow theatre at the end of the 1970s and developed a unique experience that earned it recognition and prestigious collaborations all over the world. The Shadow Company\, with Fabrizio Montecchi and Nicoletta Garioni as artistic directors\, is engaged not only in the production of performances but also in workshop activities and professional training. Teatro Gioco Vita combines its activities on the territory (Prose Season of the Municipal Theatre of Piacenza\, theatre reviews\, festivals and other cultural events\, hospitality\, workshops\, training) with an increasingly international dimension that has led its shadow theatre performances to be performed not only in Europe\, but also in the United States\, Brazil\, Mexico\, Canada\, Japan\, China\, Israel\, Taiwan\, Turkey\, Jordan and Senegal. \nteatrogiocovita.it \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFor everybody 6 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at the Fonderia is open from 5.30 p.m. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nTel 0522273016 \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554

SUMMARY:Double Side
DESCRIPTION:At Teatro Comunale in Ferrara Aterballetto presents the new production Double Side. \n  \n \n  \nCredits \nSTABAT MATER\n(Creation for 3 dancers\, 3 musicians\, 3 singers) \nChoreography Norge Cedeño Raffo\nSet and lighting design Fabiana Piccioli\nMusic Stabat Mater by Arvo Pärt\nCostume design Norge Cedeño Raffo and Fabiana Piccioli\nAssistant to the choreographer Thais Suàrez Fernàndez \nWITH DROOPING WINGS\n(Creation for 8 dancers\, 4 strings) \nChoreography Danièle Desnoyers\nMusic An English Suite by Federico Gon after Henry Purcell\nSet and lighting design Fabiana Piccioli\nCostume design Danièle Desnoyers\nWith the support of Délégation du Québec à Rome and Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec \n \n\nCo-design and co-production Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and Fondazione Arturo Toscanini\nCo-production Festspiele Ludwigshafen\, Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia \nWorld-premiere 23 October 2022\, Reggio Emilia\, Festival Aperto\, Teatro Municipale Romolo Valli (I)\nGerman premiere 9-10 December 2022\, Ludwigshafen\, Theater Im Pfalzbau (D) \n\nDancers Aterballetto Company\nQuartetto Motus for La Toscanini: Giulia Soli\, Agnese Rava violin\, Dario Carrera viola\, Margherita Curti cello\nSoprano: Theodora Io Koutsothodoru\nCountertenor: Nicolò Balducci\nTenor: Kim Bowoo\nMusical coaching: Antonio De Lorenzi \nDocufilm Stabat Mater - Danzare oltre i confini\nNorge Cedeño Raffo’s creation Stabat Mater inspired Rai5 to make the docufilm Stabat Mater – Danzare oltre i confini (Dancing Beyond Borders).

From single-celled organisms to Homo Sapiens\, from newborns to adults\, everything evolves in the continuous search for perfection … but something went wrong! The planet is in danger and humanity is certainly not without faults. \nThus an eccentric scientist tries to tell us what\, for better or for worse\, has happened to humanity and to the Earth from the Big Bang to today. SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:At Teatro Sociale in Como Aterballetto dances Don Juan\, the full evening production by Johan Inger.

The dancers act as the puppeteers of their own bodies\, animating their avatars in real time and composing the cosmogony of a world in suspension. In a cosmic space or in the heart of a virtual city\, the moving bodies of the dancers break free from the laws of physics to the droning analog sounds of Swiss doom rock band Tar Pond\, offering the audience a mesmerizing journey beyond reality. \n\n  \n  \n Cie Gilles Jobin \nSince 1995 Cie Gilles Jobin has created more than 20 choreographic projects\, which have become references on the world stage. In 2015 Gilles Jobin received the Swiss Grand Award for Dance by the Swiss Office of Culture. \nWith the 3D film WOMB in 2016\, the company started investigating digital possibilities for contemporary dance within the volume of the frame. Discovering the power of motion capture\, the company created VR_I\, a groundbreaking dance piece in immersive virtual reality that premiered at the 2017 FNC – Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal and won both the Innovation and People’s Choice awards for Most Innovative Work for New Platforms. In 2018 the work featured at the Sundance Film Festival and at the 75th Venice International Film Festival. A world tour followed in more than 50 cities and 20 countries in America\, Asia and Europe\, making it the most toured VR location-based installation in the world. The company created Dance Trail (AR) at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and in 2020\, La Comédie Virtuelle – live show\, a multiuser live performance selected in official competition at the 77th Venice International Film Festival which won the Quebec XR industry award Numix 2021. \ngillesjobin.com \n  \nINFO & TICKETS \nENTRANCE\nFree \nRESERVATION\n \nYou are required to reserve your place \n– by sending an email to biglietteria@aterballetto.it\, or; \n– by sending an SMS or whatsapp message to 3341023554 \nCONTACTS \nPhone and whatsapp 3341023554 \n\n  \n
