SUMMARY:NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:The National Choreographic Center/Aterballetto pays tribute to Ennio Morricone with a new production by Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau. \nThe Spanish artist\, with his visionary power and ability to transform musical universes\, presents a unique creation that intertwines the music of Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone with dance\, visual arts\, and cinematic inspirations.\nMarcos Morau\, the youngest choreographer to date to receive the National Dance Award\, Spain’s highest honor in dance\, constructs imaginary worlds and landscapes where image\, text\, movement\, music\, and space form a unique universe constantly nurtured by cinema\, photography\, and literature. Now\, for his first collaboration with the CCN/Aterballetto\, he has chosen to draw from iconic compositions of the cinematic landscape of the last seventy years: those of Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone.\nThe director says: “With classical training and an avant-garde vocation\, Morricone has always been beyond the trends of his time. His music spans an entire century and has revived the works of many great masters. For this evening\, I aim to build a universe based on his sensitivity\, confirming that his legacy is more alive than ever\, and\, as he himself would say\, ‘My music has a life of its own\, which can live beyond the films for which it was created.'”\nDiscover more » \nDuration 90′

SUMMARY:NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:«”I\, Ennio Morricone\, am dead”\, wrote the composer before saying goodbye. His music\, on the other hand\, cannot. And this is how creators and artists always leave us without leaving us\, and this is how memory takes care of keeping them alive\, keeping them safe. Notte Morricone is my gift\, a devoted tribute to the beauty he gave to the world. Ennio Morricone could be my father\, or my grandfather\, I am a direct heir of his legacy\, of the films that (whether masterpieces\, good\, mediocre\, or bad) owe him an immeasurable debt.» – Marcos Morau \nNotte Morricone\, the new creation of CCN/Aterballetto signed by the award-winning choreographer Marcos Morau\, is at the Théâtre d’Orléans to bid farewell to 2024 and welcome 2025. \nTuesday\, December 31\, 2024 at 8:30 PM\nWednesday\, January 1\, 2025 at 5:00 PM \n\nNotte Morricone is a devoted tribute by choreographer Marcos Morau to the beauty that Oscar winner Ennio Morricone gave to the world. \nNotte Morricone takes place in the twilight of an ordinary night in the life of a creator\, who alone and dazed in front of his sheets\, takes notes and visualizes melodies for films that do not yet exist\, bringing stories back to life in the rarefied air of his room. \n\n  \nPURCHASE THE TICKET\n  \nCREDITS \nDirection and choreography MARCOS MORAU\nMusic ENNIO MORRICONE\nMusical direction and adaptation by MAURIZIO BILLI\nSound design ALEX RÖSER VATICHÉ\, BEN MEERWEIN\nSet and lighting MARC SALICRÚ\nCostumes SILVIA DELAGNEAU\nChoreography assistants SHAY PARTUSH\, MARINA RODRÍGUEZ \nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nCommission\, co-production\, first outdoor performance Macerata Opera Festival\nCo-production\, first indoor performance Fondazione Teatro di Roma\nCo-productions Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia\, Centro Servizi Culturali Santa Chiara Trento\, Centro Teatrale Bresciano\nCo-production Ravenna Festival | Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini \nOutdoor premiere August 1\, 2024\, Macerata Opera Festival \nIndoor premiere October 24 – November 10\, 2024\, Rome\, Teatro Argentina \nThe performances at Teatro Argentina are co-presented with Fondazione Teatro di Roma and Romaeuropa Festival \nEARLY SUGGESTIONS \n«People often ask me what music I listen to\, what music inspires or accompanies me in my daily life\, and I always respond the same way: from classical music to the new contemporary waves\, I draw inspiration from many different sources\, and Ennio Morricone is always at the top of the list. \nMorricone’s music embodies that abstract sense of what is unspoken and unseen in films. Although it is almost impossible to separate his music from the images it accompanies\, Morricone transcends and intertwines with life itself\, with memories\, and with the beauty and cruelty of a world that continues to move forward\, destroying and rebuilding itself every day. His music has a powerful melancholic quality that comes from both the contemplation of the past and the impossibility of capturing any past experience. \nClassically trained and avant-garde by vocation\, Morricone has always been beyond the trends of the moment. Today\, three years after his death\, Morricone continues to inspire artists and visionaries from different fields\, and his music belongs to an entire century\, having revived many of our great masters. His music was a genre unto itself\, and for this evening I want to build a universe based on his sensibility to confirm that his legacy is more alive than ever and that\, as he would say himself\, “my music has a life of its own\, which can live far from the films for which it was created.”» \nMarcos Morau \nMARCOS MORAU \nRecently appointed Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture and selected as the best choreographer of the year 2023 by the German magazine TANZ\, the career of Marcos Morau (Valencia 1982) continues to grow as a creator and stage director. \nTrained between Barcelona and New York in photography\, choreography\, and theatrical theory and dramaturgy\, Marcos Morau constructs imaginary worlds and landscapes where image\, text\, movement\, music\, and space form a unique universe that is constantly nourished by cinema\, photography\, and literature. \nSince 2004\, Marcos has directed La Veronal\, a company present in the best theaters and festivals in over thirty countries: Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris\, the Venice Biennale\, the Avignon Festival\, Tanz Im August in Berlin\, the RomaEuropa Festival\, the SIDance Festival in Seoul\, Sadler’s Wells in London\, Danse Danse Montreal\, among many others. \nIn addition to his work with La Veronal\, Marcos Morau is an international guest artist in various companies and theaters where he develops new creations\, always halfway between the performing arts and dance: Nederlands Dans Theater\, Lyon Opera Ballet\, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens\, Royal Danish Ballet\, and The Royal Ballet of Flanders\, among others. \nAs the youngest creator to receive the National Dance Award\, the highest recognition in Spain\, the future of Morau and La Veronal aims at exploring new formats and languages where opera\, dance\, and physical theater interact more than ever\, seeking new ways to express and communicate in our ever-turbulent and constantly evolving present time. \nFrom this season\, he is an associate artist at Staatsballett Berlin. \n“La Veronal is a reminder that dance is often at the forefront of the most innovative theater.” – The New York Times \n“Morau’s visual treatment is so brilliant\, so vividly strange\, that we find ourselves immersed in what turns out to be a story of transmission and emancipation.” – Le Monde \n“Morau\, one of the most interesting young choreographers on the contemporary dance scene.” – El País

DESCRIPTION:If in chat we use the laughing emoji\, are we laughing with it? And if we use the one shedding copious tears? What expression do we really have? Choreographer Kenji Shinohe explores\, through the body and digital technologies\, how emotions are expressed through keyboard symbols. A show that sets aside words to tackle the highly relevant theme of “superficial communication” created by new technologies. \nRecommended age: from 8 years old \n \nCREDITS \nby and with Kenji Shinohe \nlighting design Cristina Fresia \nProduction Fondazione Sipario Toscana \nRecommended age: from 8 years old | running time: 45′ \nDiscover more \nAt the heart of the performance are emojis\, the colorful faces tasked with expressing feelings in digital communication\, and the doubt that their overuse impoverishes and conceals real emotional expressions. \nIf in a chat we use the laughing face emoji\, do we laugh with it? And if we use the one that sheds copious tears\, what face do we really make? But the real question at the core of the work is: how can we recover our true feelings? \n\nChoreographer Kenji Shinohe explores\, through the body and digital technologies\, the way emotions are expressed through the symbols of the keyboard. A performance that sets aside words to address the very contemporary issue of “superficial communication\,” created by new technologies and especially—though not exclusively—used by younger generations. \nKenji Shinohe\nKenji Shinohe is a Japanese choreographer and dancer born in 1990\, currently residing in Wuppertal\, Germany. He started ballroom dancing in early childhood with his grandmother and represented Japan at the Junior World Ballroom Dance Championships when he was a teenager. \nHe studied dance philosophy and art history at the University of Japan\, where he later earned a master’s degree. In 2015\, he received an international exchange student scholarship at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen\, Germany. After graduating in the summer of 2019\, he began his career as a freelance dancer and choreographer. \nAs a dancer\, he has worked with the NEUR TANZ company (Düsseldorf)\, Tanztheater Erfurt (Erfurt)\, Carla Jordão (Cologne)\, Kompanie merighi | mercy (Wuppertal)\, Saeed Hani (Luxembourg)\, Dinamo Danza (Pamplona\, Spain)\, and other international choreographers. \nAs a choreographer\, he was awarded the first prize and the audience award “contact.energy 16” at the 5th Internationales Tanz Theater Festival 2016 in Erfurt\, the Best Newcomer Solo award at the 10th Internationales Tanzfestival SoloDuo NRW in Cologne 2018\, the Best Solo award and the audience award at the SzólóDuó International Dance Festival 2019 in Budapest\, Hungary. In addition\, he won 5 awards at TEATRI RIFLESSI in Catania\, Italy in 2023. He has received international recognition for various choreographic works\, both for his solos and group dances. \nIn his artistic work\, he is interested in uniting body movements in relation to the structures of music\, extending the expression of dance through metanarrative techniques. His choreographic pieces are hosted and performed in many theaters across more than 15 countries and 55 cities. \nInfo\, Tickets\, Workshop \nSUNDAY\, JANUARY 19\, 4:30 PM FAMILY CONTACT \nWORKSHOP LED BY CHOREOGRAPHER LAURA MATANO \nFamily Contact is a moment of sharing between children and parents that seeks to explore new worlds. SUMMARY:ALCE
DESCRIPTION:A work by Fabrizio Favale / Le Supplici\, a rare and powerful dance\, at times rhythmic and tribal\, at times ethereal and elusive\, performed by a cast of exceptional dancers. Ten dancers shape an unnatural\, artificial\, otherworldly landscape and inhabit it as its creatures. \nWatch the trailer \nCREDITS \nChoreography Fabrizio Favale\nDancers Daniele Bianco\, Daniel Cantero\, Vincenzo Cappuccio\, Giuseppe Catalfamo\, Matteo Di Ciommo\, Martina Di Giacomo\, Alessandro Girardi\, Alicia Ianeselli\, Valentina Verini\, Po-Nien Wang\nMusic Christian Fennesz\, James Holden\, Dark Morph\, Nathan Fake\, Team Ghost\, Jónsi & Alex\, M83\, Sigur Rós\nSet\, lighting\, costumes First Rose \nCo-produced by Festival MILANoLTRE / KLM – Kinkaleri / Le Supplici / mk\nWith the support of MIBAC\, Regione Emilia-Romagna\nWith the contribution of ATER / h(abita)t – Rete di Spazi per la Danza / Sementerie Artistiche\, Crevalcore; Regione Lombardia and Fondazione Cariplo for the Next project\nSpecial thanks to Teatro Consorziale di Budrio\, Teatro Duse Bologna\, and DAS Bologna for the kind use of their spaces \nRead more \nWith this work\, the group delves into a theme that has long been explored and has inspired the creation of several works: the presence of animals and our relationship with them. \nThe presence of animals has always sparked human imagination and seems mysteriously connected to dreams. But it also seems to suggest new senses of space and time\, new languages\, impossible intelligences of shapes and movement. \nFrom these premises\, this work moves in search of abstractions of movement that seem to belong to worlds different from the human one. The enigmatic aerial spinning of an ultra-light aluminum backdrop\, operated by the performers at the beginning of the performance\, introduces vast horizons of unknown landscapes. Here\, a series of dances appears and disappears from a distant\, misty place\, illuminated by a light in the background. \n \nThe dancers often work closely together in a woven pattern\, creating atmospheres that are sometimes rhythmic and tribal\, sometimes rarefied and ethereal. \nIn Alce\, zoomorphic figures (some inspired by ancient popular traditions\, others invented) punctuate the choreography\, like an enigmatic dialogue from afar. \nFabrizio Favale \nFabrizio Favale\, Full Scholarship at the American Dance Festival in 1990. In 1996\, he was named “Best Italian Dancer” by the Premio G. Tani. From 1991 to 2001\, he danced for the Virgilio Sieni company. In 2011\, he received the “Presidential Medal for Italian Choreographic Talent.” His works have been invited to prestigious venues such as: Théâtre National de la Danse Chaillot in Paris\, Biennale de la Danse de Lyon\, Varna Festival\, and many others. He is the creator of programming projects including: the Balinese Dance Platform\, Circo Massimo\, and Plantings on Pluto. In 2019\, the project Le Stagioni Invisibili won the PerChiCrea award from SIAE and MIBAC\, and in 2021 it was shortlisted as one of the eight best outdoor projects in Europe by the Big Pulse Dance Alliance. SUMMARY:14.610
DESCRIPTION:The title of the performance is 14.610\, a number that hints at something never explicitly mentioned. But it is a key\, like the code to a hotel room\, that allows easy entry into the show. It is a small and sophisticated puzzle to solve. The latest work by Claudia Catarzi has something intimate and shameless. \nFollowing the performance\, a discussion with the choreographer will take place\, joined by Carmelo A. Zapparrata\, journalist and dance critic for *Repubblica-Bologna* and *Hystrio*. \n\nCredits \nby and with Claudia Catarzi\nmusic by Julien Desprez\nscenography by Fabio Giommarelli \nco-produced by Company Blu\, La Manufacture – Centre de Développement Chorégraphique National Bordeaux Nouvelle-Aquitaine\, Armunia/Festival Inequilibrio/Centro di residenze artistiche Castiglioncello\, with the support of the Regione Toscana and the MiC \ncreated in 2023 \nDiscover more \nIt’s hard to describe the feeling of dancing almost three meters high on a surface so narrow it seems more like a pedestal than a platform. From the ground\, that is\, from the stage of the Teatro Rosignano Solvay\, where the show debuted for the Inequilibrio festival\, the latest work by Claudia Catarzi has something intimate and shameless. Shameless because the spectator\, compelled to keep their eyes upwards\, admires the technical skill\, explicit and evident\, of a figure that doesn’t perform acrobatics\, but nonetheless constructs a tense and sculptural choreography\, made of plastic poses\, clear and defined gestures\, even jumps. Although the tone is far from baroque – a certain austerity prevails\, though never frigid – there is something triumphant in this construction that resembles the base for a Renaissance equestrian statue. Indeed\, in the dramatic arc of the show\, the satisfaction of reaching the top is palpable. As if we were in the mountains. Looking down from above is satisfying\, but it also gives you chills. Not only because it’s easy to fall\, but perhaps because at some point from this peak\, the only thing left to do is descend. \n \nAnd this is the other intimate dimension that runs through the entire show and speaks to us of fragility and strength\, of change and resistance. The title of the show is 14.610\, a number that hints at something never explicitly mentioned. But it is a key\, like the code to a hotel room\, that allows easy entry into the show. It’s a small and sophisticated puzzle to solve. Not too difficult\, to be honest\, but we want to leave it unresolved\, so as not to spoil the pleasure of discovery. In the second part of the work\, the pedestal reveals itself as a steep slide\, and the descent becomes a sort of struggle; the muscular body strains to defeat the weight of gravity\, as in the whirls of some Giambologna statue. Even though the aesthetics are tied to a sober normality\, which makes the image even more intimate and common. About ten years ago\, Catarzi debuted in her solo 40\,000 Square Centimeters\, again a number for a title\, striking for presence and power in the small space drawn on the stage of only four square meters. Ten years later\, this space has shrunk but has risen into the air. Not a diving board to jump from\, but a mountain – like life – to embrace and climb. \n(Rodolfo Sacchettini – July 18\, 2023) \nCLAUDIA CATARZI \nAfter training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence\, she began her career working with the Micha Van Hoecke Ensemble. She later danced with companies such as Dorky Park Constanza Macras (Berlin)\, Compagnia Virgilio Sieni\, Aldes/Roberto Castello\, Company Blu/Alessandro Certini and Charlotte Zerbey\, En-Knap Group/Iztok Kovač (Ljubljana)\, László Hudi (J. Nadj – Budapest)\, among others. In 2009\, she was part of Choreoroam\, a research project by the Israeli choreographer Yasmeen Godder (Tel Aviv). She was later invited to follow the work of the Batsheva Dance Company by Ohad Naharin. She has collaborated with choreographer Ambra Senatore since the beginning of her company’s research work between Italy and France\, participating in all her early works. Since 2011\, she has been working on personal creations. The solo Arrivò senza colore won the co-production Sosta Palmizi\, and Un giorno\, a duo in collaboration with Mariano Nieddù\, was a finalist at the “Premio Equilibrio 2010” (directed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui). Her two latest creations see her sharing the stage for the first time with two female figures: Michal Mualem\, a historical dancer in Sasha Waltz’s company\, in A set of timings\, and Claudia Caldarano\, a former dancer of Virgilio Sieni\, in Posare il tempo. The live presence of musician Gianni Maestrucci in Posare il tempo – percussionist of the renowned group Tetraktis – transforms the danced duet into a trio. Claudia Catarzi is currently an associate artist at CDCN of Bordeaux\, La Manufacture | Bordeaux-Nouvelle Aquitaine. \nLearn more \n  \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \n6 euros \nTICKET PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nFonderia Ticket Office: the ticket office opens one hour before the start of the show (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia).\n\nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \nCell and WhatsApp: 3341023554 \nEmail: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

DESCRIPTION:FND Aterballetto – rehearsals – ph. Christophe Bernard (18) \nSOLO ECHO by CRYSTAL PITE | RECONCILIATIO by ANGELIN PRELJOCAJ | GLORY HALL by DIEGO TORTELLI \nThe National Choreographic Center / Aterballetto presents a brand-new triptych\, set to add fresh and unexpected nuances to the company’s already eclectic repertoire. Solo Echo\, created by the award-winning Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite\, invokes winter\, music\, and movement to express something profound about acceptance and loss.\nReconciliatio is a delicate female duet inspired by the Book of Revelation\, crafted by one of the world’s most acclaimed choreographers\, Angelin Preljocaj.\nA vibrant fresco of sensuality and overwhelming vitality\, Glory Hall by Diego Tortelli\, showcases one of Italy’s most innovative choreographers. \nThe triptych is a true dance concert\, beginning with Brahms’ sonatas and concluding with the post-rock of the band Godspeed You! Black Emperor\, interspersed with the famous notes of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. \nSolo Echo \n\nChoreography CRYSTAL PITE\nMusic Johannes Brahms\nSonata for Cello and Piano in E Minor\, Op. 38: I. Allegro non troppo\nSonata for Cello and Piano in F Major\, Op. 99: II. As in Strand’s poem\, Solo Echo evokes winter\, music\, and the moving body to express something essential about acceptance and loss. \nReconciliatio \n\nChoreography ANGELIN PRELJOCAJ\nMusic Ludwig van Beethoven\, Moonlight Sonata\nChoreographer’s Assistant Claudia De Smet \nRestaging from the 2010 creation Suivront mille ans de calme \nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto \nFirst performance 16/09/2024\, Memorare 2024\, Basilica di San Petronio\, Bologna \n2 dancers – 10’\n \nDance\, the quintessential art of the unspeakable\, has the delicate role of unveiling our fears\, anxieties\, and hopes by evoking them. The duet chosen to convey the theme of reconciliation is from Suivront mille ans de calme (A Thousand Years of Calm Will Follow)\, a work marked by a poetic and impressionistic vein\, inspired by a careful but not literal reading of the Apocalypse. For the choreographer\, neither in the original performance nor in the female duet adapted for “Memorare 2024” should there be an attempt to seek precise references to the text of St. John. Rather\, the goal is to reveal\, uncover\, and highlight (as the etymology of the word apocalypse suggests: to lift the veil) elements present in our world but hidden from our eyes. And in the delicate relationship between the two protagonists of the duet\, both visible and invisible\, emerge the themes to which we refer. \nGlory Hall \n\nChoreography DIEGO TORTELLI\nMusic Godspeed You! Black Emperor\nChoreographer’s Assistant Hélias Tur-Dorvault \nProduction Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\nCo-production Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Bologna \nPremiere performances: 6-7/02/2025\, Teatro Comunale di Bologna \n16 dancers – 30’\n \nGlory Hall is the new creation by Diego Tortelli for the 16 dancers of Aterballetto\, a sensory and rebellious journey into a liminal space suspended between light and darkness. In a black space but never truly dark\, the choreography unfolds as an ecstatic ritual where sensuality and profane spirituality intertwine\, creating an ongoing play between pleasure\, virtuosity\, and the search for a personal version of glory. The dance\, rebellious against narrative\, constantly regenerates itself\, allowing ephemeral emotions to explode\, destined to vanish and be reborn. In Glory Hall\, anything is possible: the music guides in a crescendo of harmony and transgression\, for an ecstasy that knows no boundaries\, blending rock sounds with symphonic melodies. \n\n

SUMMARY:NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:    \nThe Centro Coreografico Nazionale/Aterballetto pays tribute to Ennio Morricone with a new production by Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau. \nThe Spanish creator\, known for his visionary power and ability to transform musical universes\, presents a unique creation intertwining the music of Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone with dance\, visual arts\, and cinematic inspirations.\nMarcos Morau\, currently the youngest choreographer to have received the National Dance Award\, the highest recognition in Spain\, constructs imaginary worlds and landscapes where image\, text\, movement\, music\, and space form a unique universe constantly nourished by cinema\, photography\, and literature. For his first collaboration with CCN/Aterballetto\, he proposed turning to iconic compositions from the cinematic landscape of the last seventy years: those of Academy Award-winning composer Ennio Morricone.\nThe director states: «Classically trained and avant-garde by vocation\, Morricone has always been beyond the trends of the moment. His music spans an entire century and has brought many of our great masters to life. For this evening\, I want to build a universe based on his sensitivity to confirm that his legacy is more alive than ever and that\, as he himself would say\, my music has a life of its own\, which can live far beyond the films for which it was created.»\nFind out more » \nDuration 90′

SUMMARY:PerAria
DESCRIPTION:Go outside\,\nstand like this…\n…with your head in the air.\nBe silent\,\nand listen to the wind\,\nit has all the answers… \nOnce again this year\, the Sosta Palmizi Company returns to Fonderia to make us dream\, with a show dedicated to children from 5 years old. \nWith the freedom of spirit typical of childhood\, the lightness and depth of imagination\, a small room can become a place for great adventures: with eyes closed and ears wide open\, the air and the wind whisper incredible stories to us! They can take us to that strange country\, Anarea\, the country without winds where everything is still and moving is a fascinating challenge. Or to the Land of Flying Hats\, where the gusts of wind are so strong they swap people’s hats and identities! PerAria takes us into a world where adult logic becomes increasingly rarefied\, making room for curiosity\, wonder\, creativity\, play\, and emotions\, inviting the audience to become lighter and to stay (…at least for the duration of the show) a little more with their head perAria! \nThe idea for the show came from the desire to create a tribute to life\, lightness\, and carefree living. The authors were inspired by air and wind as vehicles and conduits of experiences and emotions\, creating a nested narrative containing other stories born from the illogical\, stimulating\, and whirlwind curiosity of childhood and creativity. \n\n\n\n“We are overwhelmed by the energy of dance\, emotions pass through movement\, light and delicate\, as light as air\, or wild and explosive.”\nNella Califano | AltreVelocità \n\n\n\n  \n\n  \nCredits \n  \n\n\nchoreography and stage creation Giorgio Rossi\ndramaturgy and original texts Savino Maria Italiano\nperformers Anna Di Bari\, Verdiana Gelao\, and Savino Maria Italiano\nmusic Livio Minafra\ncostumes Roberta Vacchetta\nlighting design Roberto Cupertino\nscenography Gisella Butera and Matilde Gori / Zaches Scenography Atelier\nproduction Associazione Sosta Palmizi\nco-production I Nuovi Scalzi\nresidential support Centro di Residenza della Toscana (Fondazione Armunia Castiglioncello – CapoTrave/Kilowatt Sansepolcro)\, HOME Centro Creazione Coreografica (PG)\, Comune di Barletta\, Teatro Fonderia Leopolda Comune di Follonica (GR)\, Ad Arte Spettacoli\, Zaches Teatro and Ass. Giorgio Rossi\, as E. Satie would say\, “is a dancing mammal.” At the age of 4\, after seeing the Swiss clown Dimitri\, he realized that theater was his life. He owes his artistic success to having had the opportunity to witness the works of great masters (Kantor\, Brook\, Bausch\, Carlson)\, and with some of them\, he learned the art of the stage\, both as a student and as a performer. He collaborates with artists from other fields\, such as: P. Fresu\, B. Bertolucci\, T. Gylliam\, S. Benni\, P. Turci\, L. Poli\, D. Riondino\, P. Rossi\, Banda Osiris\, G. Mirabassi\, M. Rabbia\, M. Baliani\, and many others; he participated as a dancing author in the show *Vieni via con me* by R. Saviano and F. Fazio. In 2013\, he choreographed all the movements for *Carmen* by Bizet with L’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio. With over 30 productions\, his shows have traveled the world thanks to the universality of the poetic art of movement. In recent years\, he has created three performances aimed at younger audiences (*Con il naso all’insù*\, *Costellazioni. Pronti\, partenza… spazio!*\, *Esercizi di fantastica*). In 2019\, he curated the formative and creative residency at the École des Sables in Dakar for the exchange project “Italie\, Culture\, Afrique.” He has collaborated with the company El Grito both as a performer (*Gran Circo Rossini*) and as a choreographer (*Uomo Calamita*). In 2021 and 2022\, he worked as an author and performer alongside R. Goretti and M. Bonechi for the production *Gli ultimi giorni di Pompeo* by Andrea Pazienza. In 2022\, he began a collaboration with composer and pianist Livio Minafra (winner of the Top Jazz awards in 2005\, 2008\, and 2011); their encounter gave birth to *Agata*\, an improvisation project for dance and piano. In 2023\, the partnership with Minafra was confirmed by a new production that expanded the collaboration to Savino Italiano in the creation of *In_vento*\, a work on the theme of air dedicated to younger generations\, a prequel to the production *perAria*\, which will debut in 2024. In 2023\, he also directed the staging and choreography movements of *Vertigine della Lista*\, a performance by and with F. Albanese\, S. Baldini\, L. De Simone\, and L. Valli\, born from the encounter with the essay of the same name by U. Eco. For many years\, both in Italy and abroad\, he has had a significant involvement in education\, where workshops and collaborations with dance\, theater\, and circus schools contribute to the dissemination of the choreographic arts. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \n6 euros \nTICKET PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nFonderia Box Office: The box office opens one hour before the performance starts (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia).\n\nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \nCell and WhatsApp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:STABAT MATER - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:The Compagnia Artemis Danza / Monica Casadei offers the audience at the Fonderia something unique\, opening the doors to the creative process of its new production Stabat Mater\, which will premiere at the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro on March 14. \nSTABAT MATER \nChoreography\, direction\, sets\, lights\, and costumes Monica Casadei\nMusic Gioachino Rossini\nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza/Monica Casadei\nIn collaboration with AMAT and Teatro Rossini di Pesaro\nWith the contribution of Ministry of Culture\, Regione Emilia-Romagna – Department of Culture\, Municipality of Parma \nThe creation\, signed by the choreographer from Ferrara Monica Casadei\, is dedicated to Gioachino Rossini’s Stabat Mater; a choral tribute to the soul of women\, to their universal love\, embodied by the mother par excellence. The performance represents the evolution of a multi-year research journey that the choreographer has dedicated to the encounter between dance and religious music.\nStabat Mater is a collective prayer\, timeless and universal\, for a mater dolorosa\, a woman’s heart broken by pain\, a mater lacrimosa that crystallizes in the moment of lament the tragedy of losing a child. \nThe body becomes the medium to tell the emotional experience of those facing the transformation of the primordial bond between mother and child. The performance becomes a cry and a whisper\, noise and silence\, giving voice to a love that transcends loss and never ceases to illuminate\, even in the darkest moments. \nStabat Mater offers a profound and moving fresco of maternity\, in a deep and lyrical tension between pain and hope\, making the mother’s suffering a universal symbol of empathy and resilience. \nThe power of Rossini’s composition plays a crucial role in conveying the emotional intensity of the text\, while the dynamic music elevates the narrative from lament to a song of hope. \nMONICA CASADEI \nOriginally from Ferrara and holding a degree in Philosophy with honors with a thesis on Plato and dance\, Monica Casadei\, after a competitive career in rhythmic gymnastics\, dedicated herself to the study of classical and modern dance\, first in Italy\, then in London\, and finally in Paris where she met choreographers Pierre Doussaint and Isabelle Doubouloz\, as well as the master André Cognard Hanshi So shihan\, with whom she still practices the martial art of Aikido. In 1994\, she founded the company Artemis Danza in France\, and in 1997\, she moved to Italy\, where she began an intense production activity that\, to this day\, counts over fifty original creations. From 1998 to 2007\, the company was in residence at the Fondazione Teatro Due in Parma\, while from 2014 to 2018\, it was in artistic residence at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Fundamental to Monica Casadei’s artistic research were her encounters with Federico Fellini\, her investigation into the great lyrical tradition with performances such as Il Barbiere di Siviglia and the series of works dedicated to the heroines of opera reinterpreted in a contemporary key (such as Traviata\, Tosca X\, Carmen K\, Butterfly – Colori Proibiti\, Private Callas\, Puccini’s Opera.Voci di Donne). The productions of Artemis Danza are characterized by their fusion with different artistic\, cultural\, and geographical realms\, as well as the exploration of urban spaces that become the stage for performative actions. Alongside its production activity\, Artemis supports\, produces\, and promotes young authors and carries out numerous activities to educate the public. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \n3 euros \nFree for children under 6 \nTICKET PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nBox office at Fonderia: The box office opens half an hour before the show starts (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia).\n\nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \nCell and WhatsApp: 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Solo Echo / Reconciliatio / Glory Hall
DESCRIPTION:CCN/Aterballetto dances at the Teatro Regio di Parma with a brand new triptych\, destined to add new and unexpected nuances to the already eclectic repertoire of the company. \nThe dancers of CCN/Aterballetto are the protagonists of a production by the multi-award-winning Crystal Pite\, a Canadian choreographer now in the pantheon of dance. Solo Echo is inspired by two sonatas for cello and piano by Johannes Brahms and the poem “Lines for Winter” by Mark Strand. As in Strand’s poem\, Solo Echo invokes winter\, music\, and the moving body to express something essential about acceptance and loss. \nAn echo\, a wave by Philippe Kratz\, a former Aterballetto dancer and now a choreographer sought after by the most important companies\, is a duet inspired by the hypnotic view of the sea and the concept of eternity that inspires us: two people dancing always go through different states of mind\, contrasting emotions\, closeness\, and distance. \nThe last choreography\, Glory Hall\, is the new production by Diego Tortelli\, which gives the company and the audience a fresco of sensuality and overwhelming vitality. \nCREDITS \nSolo Echo\nChoreography Crystal Pite\nMusic Johannes Brahms (Sonata for Cello and Piano in E Minor\, Op. 38: I. SUMMARY:Solo Echo / Rhapsody in Blue / Glory Hall
DESCRIPTION:The CCN/Aterballetto dances in Compiègne\, France\, the triptych composed of Solo Echo by Crystal Pite\, Rhapsody in Blue by Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich\, and Shoot me by Diego Tortelli. \nSOLO ECHO – Crystal Pite\nLove\, loss\, and acceptance are at the heart of Solo Echo by the Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite\, inspired by two cello and piano sonatas by Johannes Brahms and the poem “Lines for Winter” by Mark Strand. As in Strand’s poem\, Solo Echo evokes winter\, music\, and the moving body to express something essential about acceptance and loss. \n \nRHAPSODY IN BLUE – Iratxe Ansa & Igor Bacovich\n«Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin has several attractive points for us. It is a splendid piece of music\, well-known but not so frequently listened to by the younger generations. Introducing this work to young people is a good objective\, and this piece can be a way to present a less distant and less “American” vision of Gershwin\, going beyond the cultural context in which the rhapsody was created. The rhapsody will inevitably dictate the choreographic work\, and the lively\, sparkling changes with which to play are fantastic. » – Iratxe Ansa & Igor Bacovich \n\n  \nGLORY HALL – Diego Tortelli\nGlory Hall by Diego Tortelli is a sensorial and rebellious journey in an in-between space\, suspended between light and darkness. In a black but never truly dark space\, the choreography unfolds as an ecstatic rite where sensuality and profane spirituality intertwine\, creating a continuous interplay of pleasure\, virtuosity\, and the pursuit of a personal version of glory.\n \n  \n
