SUMMARY:MEET THE COREOGRAPHER!
DESCRIPTION:Choreographic encounters for the Danza in Fonderia season.\nFrom Monday 16 to Friday 20 November 4.30 pm \nSaturday 21 November 10.30 am \nMeet the coreographer! is an educational project curated by Annika Pannitto for children aged 7 and over. The workshop unfolds across a series of encounters with some of the choreographers who have marked the evolution of dance over the past sixty years and have proposed an expansion of its traditional meaning. \nThe title takes its cue from the expression Meet the Artist\, which usually denotes the moment when the artist is invited to talk with the audience to share the process behind a performance. Although not live\, the project makes it possible to meet the choreographers through their works\, to begin a journey of learning and to discover how dance and choreography have evolved and questioned their own history\, profoundly changing the use of the body and its relationship with movement. \nThe idea is to bring children closer not only to the individual works\, but also to the context in which they were created\, to the processes that made them possible\, and to the exercises and studies that the artists developed to build their own path and through which they contributed to the evolution of the live arts. For the autumn season of Danza in Fonderia\, the choreographer in focus will be William Forsythe. \nAnnika Pannitto \nAnnika Pannitto (Italy\, 1981) is a choreographer\, dancer and researcher in the field of contemporary choreography. For fifteen years she has also devoted herself to teaching in a variety of contexts\, with students of all ages and levels. Her work deals with the relationship between dance and choreography and starts from the human body and its relationship with space and time. She qualified as a teacher and dancer at the National Academy of Dance in Rome\, and as a choreographer in the Master of Choreography at the ArtEZ art institute in the Netherlands. Her works have been hosted in various European contexts\, such as the Schouwburg theatre in Rotterdam\, the Atelier Re.Al in Lisbon\, the Diskurs Festival in Giessen and the Centro Danza Canal in Madrid. She collaborates regularly with artists from other disciplines to enrich her practice and learn from other artistic paths. Together with designer Erica Preli\, she has curated the publication Table Conversation since 2012. She lives and works in Madrid. \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS \nTo take part in the workshops you need to register by contacting the box office and purchase a ticket of your choice for one of the Dance Weekend performances. \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe box office at the Fonderia opens one hour before the start of the performance. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nMobile and WhatsApp 3341023554

SUMMARY:DÉSIR MIMÉTIQUE
DESCRIPTION:At the Fonderia\, mimetic desires in contemporary dance are explored.\nSaturday 28 November 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm \nSunday 29 November 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm \nDÉSIR MIMÉTIQUE is a playful investigation into choreographic composition curated by Jacopo Jenna. The title is a free reference to the concept of “mimetic desire” theorised by the French anthropologist René Girard\, who argued that human imitation lies at the root of many of the phenomena that characterise our behaviour. The project sets out to draw attention to the perception of certain elements linked to contemporary dance\, starting from the concept of imitation as a basic element for the embodiment of dance and for cultural transmission\, examining how particular kinds of information and qualities of movement are replicated or transferred from one person to another through a memetic process. \nWithin the workshop\, then\, a series of exercises is developed\, focused on listening to the body and on the search for movement. Through the relationship with a series of static images\, in which the body is represented in a particular form\, various attempts at a mimetic relationship are explored\, eliciting in the children different qualities of movement and physical representation. \nJacopo Jenna \nJacopo Jenna is a choreographer and director. His work investigates choreography as an extended practice\, through a research that engages both dance and video\, studying new possibilities for the embodiment of movement\, ranging across various languages and generating multiple performative contexts. A graduate in Sociology from the University of Urbino\, he developed his dance studies in the Netherlands at Codarts (Rotterdam Dance Academy). He works in training and educational programmes for various age groups\, devising new strategies of relationship with the performing arts. \nHe has presented his projects at international festivals and institutions including Centrale Fies (Dro)\, La Democrazia del Corpo (Florence)\, Palazzo Strozzi (Florence)\, Centro Pecci (Prato)\, Fabbrica Europa (Florence)\, Short Theatre (Rome)\, Danae Festival (Milan)\, Dansem (Marseille)\, Bipod Festival (Beirut)\, CNBD (Bucharest)\, YPAM (Yokohama)\, Palazzo Grassi Punta della Dogana (Venice)\, Chantiers d’Europe – Théâtre de la Ville (Paris)\, Do Disturb – Palais de Tokyo (Paris)\, Mudam Contemporary Art Museum of Luxembourg\, MAXXI (Rome)\, BMotion festival (Bassano del Grappa)\, MilanOltre Festival (Milan)\, Tanec Praha Festival (Prague)\, Belgrade Dance Festival\, Tanzhaus nrw (Düsseldorf)\, Aerowaves Twenty22 and NID Platform (2022|2024). \nHis work is produced and supported by KLm – Kinkaleri\, Le Supplici\, mk. \nCONTATTI \nCell and WhatsApp 3341023554

SUMMARY:PAS DE CHEVAL
DESCRIPTION:Andrea Costanzo Martini investigates through dance the condition of the contemporary performer.\nSaturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 8.30 pm \nPas de Cheval is a duet choreographed by Andrea Costanzo Martini and performed together with Francesca Foscarini\, conceived for two performers who are no longer in their early youth. Starting from the figure of the horse\, a symbol of grace\, strength and freedom\, the work explores the parallel between the animal and the dancer-performer: creatures that are admired and\, at the same time\, subjected to toil\, discipline and dynamics of power. \n On stage\, the two performers move in silence\, embodying trained horses\, while a soundscape made up of recorded voices accompanies their bodies. It is their own voices\, in the form of whispers that chase and overlap one another\, that give shape to laments\, confessions and small ironies about the condition of the contemporary performer. \nCREDITS \nChoreography: Andrea Costanzo MartiniPerformers: Francesca Foscarini and Andrea Costanzo MartiniMusic: Angelo Badalamenti\, Ennio MorriconeLighting: Yoav Barel\nTexts: Francesca Foscarini\, Andrea Costanzo Martini\n \nProduction Associazione Culturale Zebra\nWith the support of Artisti Associati (premiere at Festival Visavì 2025)\, Tanzhaus Zürich\, NOD – Nuova Officina della Danza Torino\nIn collaboration with Centro di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale per la Danza Scenario Pubblico/CZD \nAndrea Costanzo Martini \nAndrea Costanzo Martini is an Italian choreographer and performer\, born and raised in Piedmont. He began his training at Danzicherie in Cuneo and the Teatro Nuovo in Turin\, before continuing his classical dance studies at the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung Ballet Academy in Munich. At 19 he moved to Germany\, and in 2004 he began his professional career at the Aalto Staats-Theater in Essen. \nIn 2006 he joined the Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv\, where he danced in the works of Ohad Naharin and Sharon Eyal\, also teaching Gaga and developing his first choreographies through the Dancers Create project. He then danced with the Cullberg Ballet (2008–2010)\, performing works by Benoît Lachambre\, Alexander Ekman\, Crystal Pite\, Jefta van Dinther and Tillman O’Donnell\, and created his first piece\, For Men Only. In 2012 he returned to Israel\, joining the company of Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak\, and began to focus on his own choreographic research. \nSince 2013\, Andrea Costanzo Martini has created and performed his works internationally. Among his best-known pieces: What Happened in Torino (2013\, First Prize at the Stuttgart Solo Dance Competition)\, SCARABEO (Aerowaves 2018)\, PayPer Play (2021) and Mood Shifters (2021). His most recent creations include Première (commissioned by the Balletto di Roma)\, Wild Thoughts (for NDCWales)\, Life in Lycra (2023\, awarded at the RIDCC 2024)\, Animal In (2024\, commissioned by Art Project Bora\, South Korea)\, Life in Lycra (winner of two partner awards at the RIDCC 2024)\, Blaubart 2.0 (2025\, commissioned by MIR Dance Company\, Germany)\, DANCEPLAING (2025\, commissioned by Conny Jannsen Danst)\, Pas de Cheval (with Francesca Foscarini – selected for NID 2026 – Turin) and BODYBE (commissioned by VERVE\, Leeds\, 2026). \nHis choreographic language blends extreme physicality with theatrical storytelling\, playing with irony and humour to subvert expectations about contemporary dance. He explores the dynamics of power between performer and spectator\, the desire to capture attention and the risk of objectification. His works blur the boundaries between dance and performance art\, integrating objects\, text\, video and interaction with the audience. \nSince 2007 he has been a certified Gaga teacher and leads workshops all over the world. \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS \nFull price: 10 eurosReduced for under-30s\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over-65s\, members of the CRAL of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 eurosReduced for under-8s: 3 euros \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it.

\nCONTATTI \nCell and WhatsApp 3341023554

SUMMARY:Preludio / An Echo\, A Wave / Reconciliatio / Solo Echo
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto is at L’arc scène nationale in Le Creusot on 2 December 2026.\nCCN/Aterballetto presents a true concert in dance. Preludio by Diego Tortelli is a profane prayer inspired by the writing of Nick Cave: five dancers become emotional stimuli\, embodying obsessions\, addictions and desires in a hymn to the body and its continuous transformation. In An echo\, a wave by Philippe Kratz\, the flowing movement of the two dancers recalls the motion of the sea. Reconciliatio is a delicate female pas de deux by Angelin Preljocaj set to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Solo Echo by Crystal Pite\, through Brahms’s sonatas for cello and piano\, invokes winter to express something essential about acceptance and loss. \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Beyond Time and Space / La Réunion racconta Nikolais
DESCRIPTION:La Réunion dances the work of Nikolais at the Fonderia.\nFriday 4 December 6.00 pm – open rehearsal \nSaturday 5 December 6.00 pm – performance \nBeyond Time and Space / La Réunion racconta Nikolais eludes precise classification and presents itself as a kind of happening — part performance\, part lecture\, part show. \nInspired by the tradition of the American masters and their work based on guided and personalised improvisations\, the project stems from the sharing of materials and working practices\, activated in real time and accompanied\, when necessary\, by repertoire videos and previously unseen materials. \nThe performance\, led and guided by journalist Donatella Bertozzi\, alternates moments of storytelling\, testimony and historical-artistic insight into Nikolais’s work. The structure takes shape anew each time\, creating different times and modes of encounter with the audience. \nA work that moves through time and space\, reworking the past to project itself towards the future\, through free and experimental possibilities of development. \nCREDITS \nConcept\, choreography and dance: Donella Bucca\, Fabrizio Chiodetti\, Elisa Cuppini\, Fabrizio Favale\, Simona Lisi\, Giordana Pascucci\, Irene Pulzoni\, Chiara Reggiani\, Maurizio Rinaldelli\, Luigia Riva\, Caterina Tavolini\, Roberta VoltolinaWith the participation of journalist and dance critic Donatella BertozziCostume\, set and lighting design: La Réunion \nProject created and supported in collaboration with CCN Aterballetto\, Reggio Emilia \nProduced by KLm – Kinkaleri / Le Supplici / mk and Associazione VentottozeroseiWith the contribution of MiC\, Regione Emilia-Romagna\, Comune di Bologna \nLa Réunion \nIn 1991 in Reggio Emilia (Italy)\, organised by the Centro Regionale per la Danza\, 20 young dancers and creators were selected for a specialised course on American Modern and Post-Modern Dance. Their teachers were exceptional names in dance such as Alwin Nikolais\, Iréne Hultmann (Trisha Brown Dance Company)\, Louise Burns (Merce Cunningham Dance Company) and guests of the calibre of William Forsythe and Carolyn Carlson. \nIt was an experiment unique of its kind and never repeated since. The group studied various techniques of American Dance\, the Cunningham repertoire and the Trisha Brown repertoire\, but above all it experimented under the guidance of those masters or in independent sessions. \nThus a group took shape that wished to experiment with new artistic trends and that\, after that experience\, scattered across the world. \nIn 2024\, after 33 years\, 13 artists belonging to that original nucleus came together again spontaneously and\, as if picking up a conversation left unfinished\, resumed meeting in the rehearsal studio\, following their natural inclination for experimentation with dance and choreography. The name chosen for this new informal ensemble is La Réunion\, a name that certainly evokes a coming together\, but also a remote island\, a dimension where something specific\, new and native lives and evolves — something that can happen only in that place\, yet always open to exploration and exchange. \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS \nOpen rehearsal Friday 4 December 6.00 pm \nFull price: 3 eurosFree for under-6s \nPerformance Saturday 5 December 6.00 pm \nFull price: 10 eurosReduced for under-30s\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over-65s\, members of the CRAL of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 eurosReduced for under-8s: 3 euros \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe box office at the Fonderia opens one hour before the start of the performance. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nMobile and WhatsApp 3341023554

SUMMARY:NOTTE MORRICONE
DESCRIPTION:CCN/Aterballetto dances Notte Morricone at the Grand Théâtre Massenet in Saint-Étienne on 5 December 2026. \n“I\, Ennio Morricone\, am dead\,” the composer wrote before taking his leave. His music\, however\, cannot die. This is how creators and artists always leave us without leaving us\, and this is how memory takes care to keep them alive\, to keep them safe. Notte Morricone is my gift\, a devoted tribute to the beauty he gave the world.\nNotte Morricone unfolds in the twilight of an ordinary night in the life of a creative who\, alone and dazed before his sheets of paper\, takes notes and visualises melodies for films that do not yet exist\, bringing stories back to life in the rarefied air of his room.\nMarcos Morau – Director and choreographer \n\nIt is impossible to describe Notte Morricone\, a masterly piece that reaches the spectator in waves\, embraces them with emotional surges and holds them in the memory of timeless melodies that have long outlived the images that gave rise to them. The finely chiselled\, always poetic choreography is just as enchanting\, composed with obsessive attention to detail: legs and necks seem to have no joints\, bending and snapping rhythmically like metronomes.\nMaria Luisa Buzzi – Danza&Danza \nFind out more » \nDuration 90′\n
