DESCRIPTION:The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto dances its new production Double Side in Gütersloh\, Germany\, on 29 and 30 March. \nBaroque music and contemporary dance are combined in the new programme of the Italian Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, which features two choreographers from Canada and Cuba who are little known in Italy\, Danièle Desnoyers and Norge Cedeño Raffo. In close collaboration with the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini from Parma\, its orchestral counterpart from Emilia-Romagna Region\, the renowned company brings along a musical ensemble of singers and string players\, dancing to a baroque suite and a “Stabat Mater” by Arvo Pärt. \n \nSynopsis \nThe Cuban Norge Cedeño Raffo creates to religious music\, of all things. The young\, up-and-coming choreographer was a soloist with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba\, the most important contemporary company in Cuba. Arvo Pärt’s “Stabat Mater” becomes a painful farewell work for him. The Estonian composer set the medieval text about the pain of the Mother of God to music in his characteristic\, reduced style. Started in 2010\, the course is gaining full recognition in the European dance world and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \nOn stage Made in Italy 28.0 with choreography by Sasha Waltz and Paolo Mohovich. IN C\nStudy for ‘In C’ \nChoreography by Sasha Waltz \nMusic by Terry Riley \nRe-staged by Davide Di Pretoro \n  \nAn important opportunity for enrichment is the encounter of the young dancers of Agora Coaching Project with the work “In C” by the great choreographer Sasha Waltz. A considerable achievement for the training course supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company\, which is enriched by such a prestigious collaboration as Sasha Waltz & Guest\, bringing Agora fully into a wide-ranging European training context. “In C”\, which the Fondazione I Teatri will host at the Teatro Valli in a few months\, danced by Sasha Waltz’s company\, is one of the German choreographer’s latest works. The work was created to the musical score by Terry Riley\, composed in 1964 and revolutionary for the time\, as it constitutes the first example of minimalist music \nOn this milestone in the history of music\, the great German choreographer Sasha Waltz and the dancers of her company developed a choreographic work that follows an equally variable structure\, deliberately designed not to be a finished scenic piece\, but one that is constantly evolving. Agora aims to train artists ready to flexibly face the variety of the international dance market\, artists capable of responding to the different technical/stylistic demands of this same market. \nThe aim is to provide a solid basis for learning the various techniques in use on the international contemporary dance scene and the different repertoires through the alternation of qualified teachers and artists by bringing to the stage the works created by guest choreographers. The course aims to offer a wide range of stimuli\, technical\, cultural and exchange between students and choreographers\, each of whom comes from and works in different realities among the most interesting on the international scene. DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto performs Storie in Pesaro. \nStorie is a small anthology of danced fragments. They constitute only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the evening\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on the music of Nick Cave\, Another story is a duet on the impossible gesture of 2020\, the embrace. Between past and future are Kratz’s two creations. The “O” duo offers us two bodies/robots\, forcing us to question how the meaning of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and felt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a six-step in the evening’s conclusion\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication between people who feel on the same plane. It too is challenged by the present times. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto dances Double Side in Lörrach\, Germany. \nBaroque music and contemporary dance are combined in the new programme of the Italian Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, which features two choreographers from Canada and Cuba who are little known in Italy\, Danièle Desnoyers and Norge Cedeño Raffo. In close collaboration with the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini from Parma\, its orchestral counterpart from Emilia-Romagna Region\, the renowned company brings along a musical ensemble of singers and string players\, dancing to a baroque suite and a “Stabat Mater” by Arvo Pärt. \n \nSynopsis \nThe Cuban Norge Cedeño Raffo creates to religious music\, of all things. The young\, up-and-coming choreographer was a soloist with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba\, the most important contemporary company in Cuba. Arvo Pärt’s “Stabat Mater” becomes a painful farewell work for him. The Estonian composer set the medieval text about the pain of the Mother of God to music in his characteristic\, reduced style. The moving effect of this music also characterises the expressive\, free and\, in the most beautiful sense\, pure dance: how can one find hope again in a destroyed world and after such a great loss\, how can one go on living\, Norge Cedeño Raffo asks himself in his work. \n\nChoreographer Danièle Desnoyers comes from Montréal\, the metropolis of modern Canadian dance\, where her light\, fluid style and her own company make her a permanent fixture on the contemporary scene. In 2017 she creates Apnea selected for the 32nd edition of the International Choreographic Competition Hannover. In 2018 he creates Cemento for Aterballetto’s dance and photography project In/Finito. In 2019 she wins the Critic’s Award and the NTM-Production Award with AGR Duet at the 34th International Choreographic Competition Hannover. In 2020 he creates Punch 24 being selected for the Vetrina Giovane Danza D’Autore Anticorpi XL and Turn the tide for the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto’s MicroDanze project. \nIn 2021 he worked on a first study of Superorganismo with Agora Coaching Project and staged with Michele Merola’s MM Contemporay Dance Company Round trip\, a version for 6 dancers of Punch 24. There are no rules\, everything is allowed: we lend ourselves to be prey\, designated victims of the other\, we are aware of it\, we are just waiting for it to happen\, and in turn we are ready to pounce\, offend\, cleave\, crush\, tear\, to mercilessly finish him off\, but without getting our hands dirty. \nA perverse aristocratic game of double-crossing\, of abuse; a hidden\, unspoken\, pastel-coloured violence that leads irretrievably to slaughter\, to extinction; there will be no winners\, only losers. DESCRIPTION:In the setting of the Musei Civici of Padua\, within the Prospettiva Danza Teatro Festival\, we present MicroDanze – urban setting: \n6 May 2023 – 15.30 / 16.30 / 17.30 \nMicroDanze\, in a route curated by Lara Guidetti\, are performed by young dancers from the advanced training courses Agora Coaching Project and Studio XL of Reggio Emilia. \nMicroDanze - urban setting \nMicroDanze is an ambitious project of “danced” performances. Conceived by Gigi Cristoforetti\, the project comes from an invitation by the Fondazione Palazzo Magnani in Reggio Emilia to develop and explore different ways of enjoying dance performance. \nChoreographers – national and international – have conceived short pieces (six to eight minutes\, to be danced in a tiny space)\, which can be watched in succession as if one were visiting a museum. A project that escapes the dynamics of the stage\, the distance that separates the spectator from the performer\, creating a continuum between the onlooker and the watched\, soliciting an emotional and aesthetic experience as varied as it is original. \nSome MicroDanze have been the focus of a process ofreenactment: a transposition of the original versions for young dancers and public spaces aimed at creating an urban version.\n \nThe result is a project that creatively wanders between very different contexts – historical centres\, industrial areas\, residual spaces\, symbolic places in cities – defining unusual stages and creating radically new opportunities to meet the public. The guiding thread is research into dance as a form of living\, in relation to contemporary artistic practices that are rooted in the territory. \nIn Padua\, the route – curated by Lara Guidetti – passes through the Civic Museums allowing different experiences of space\, whose works sometimes resonate in the choreographies. DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\nThe increasingly interesting company Equilibrio Dinamico returns to the Fonderia with two new productions. \nStruggle for the Soul is the new creation by company director Roberta Ferrara. The choreography represents on stage the inner dissension present in each of us. \nWelcome to my funeral is the production by Brandon Lagaert\, an artist who has been collaborating for years with the internationally renowned dance theatre company Peeping Tom. The creation is also supported by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto. \n  \nStruggle for the Soul \nStudio\nChoreography: Roberta Ferrara\nDancers: Antonello Amati and Olivia Grassot \nThe study focuses on the ongoing battle between our fixed body and our eternal spirit. The performers seek peaceful coexistence as if there were two great wolves living inside each of them: one white\, the other black. \nIf they choose to feed them both\, they will never fight for each other’s attention and will be able to use each of them as needed. Since there will be no war between the two\, one will be able to listen to the deeper voice of one’s own consciousness. Two great forces within us co-exist and if we regard them with equal respect\, they will both be victorious and coexist in peace. \nA man who achieves inner peace has everything. A man who is torn apart by the war that is fought within him is nothing. He founded the company Artemis Danza in France\, with which he moved to Italy in 1997\, giving life to an intense production activity that counts\, to date\, over forty original creations. From 1998 to 2007 the company was in residence at the Fondazione Teatro Due in Parma\, while since 2014 it has been in artistic residence at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna.
