SUMMARY:Darwin
DESCRIPTION:Darwin – M/eta/morfosi is a dance and theater show for children and families on the theme of growth and transformation\, which elicits more than just a smile from the audience.\n \nThe authors Christian Pellino and Francesco Marchi are associated artists of the Artemis Danza Company / Monica Casadei. \n[Watch the video here](https://vimeo.com/887649437) \n\nCredits \nBy and with Francesco Marchi and Christian Pellino\nDirection and dramaturgy: Francesco Marchi\nChoreographies: Christian Pellino\nRunning time: 50′ \nRecommended for an audience of 8 to 14 years of age \nA co-production Artemis Danza and Europa Teatri\nWith the support Mic\, Regione Emilia Romagna Assessorato alla Cultura\, Comune di Parma \nDarwin \nLike the caterpillar transforms and becomes a butterfly through a biological cycle called metamorphosis\, so does man go through multiple phases before undergoing evolution. From single-celled organisms to Homo Sapiens\, from newborn to adult\, everything evolves in continuous pursuit of perfection… but something went wrong! The planet is in danger\, and humanity is certainly not without flaws. Thus\, an eccentric scientist tries to tell us what\, for better or for worse\, has happened to humanity and Earth from the Big Bang to today. To help him in this endeavor\, a multifaceted and constantly changing character\, who communicates not with words but with body and movement\, will embody the different phases of this crazy metamorphosis. A synergy between dance and prose theater\, expressive gestures\, and words that accompanies young people on a fun and educational journey where fantasy\, science\, and creativity meet. \nDarwin – M/eta/morfosi arises from the need to try to bring the younger audience closer to the world of dance theater\, often perceived as distant from the new generations and therefore difficult to understand. Through a path that involves meetings with schools\, teacher training\, and stage representation\, Darwin – M/eta/morfosi will attempt to explore the concept of transformation by combining the language of dance\, curated by choreographer Christian Pellino\, with the word and gesture of prose theater by actor Francesco Marchi. The goal is to introduce young people to a new language\, facilitating their understanding and involving them in a journey of genre exploration while\, simultaneously\, allowing them to develop personal reflections on the theme of growth and transformation. \nInfo & Tickets \nTICKETS\nFull price: 6 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online on www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at the Fonderia is open from 5.00 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:MICRODANCES
DESCRIPTION:From December 16th to 22nd\, the MicroDances are on stage at the Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra in Ravenna\, an archaeological site located in the undergrounds of the late Baroque church of Sant’Eufemia and considered by many as one of the most important discoveries in Italy in recent decades. The area features a prestigious complex of residential houses dating back to the 1st and 6th centuries AD\, enriched by “stone carpets”: marble and mosaic floors of high aesthetic and decorative value. The spaces of the Domus will host two works by Diego Tortelli – Yes\, Yes… and A Gig – as part of the program of the Ravenna Festival 2023. The stage for the two MicroDances is the large reception hall\, which contains the mosaic representation of the dancing seasons to the sound of the musician Pan: a play of refined geometries and inserts that meets the contemporary gestures of choreographer Diego Tortelli. \n“The MicroDances project at the Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra marks a very interesting cultural operation that puts together a collaboration capable of involving at the same time one of the most fascinating sites of our historical and cultural heritage and the high artistic projectuality put in place by the Ravenna Festival\, of which the Autumn Trilogy is one of the highest and internationally recognized expressions. The Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra\, a place that guards the roots of the great Ravenna history of mosaic\, thus becomes a stage for a dance project aimed precisely at the dialogue between the arts. The MicroDances project arrives in Ravenna after prestigious debuts in the major European museums. It is not just about a virtuous collaboration between institutions\, but about a new paradigm that sees in the dialogue between different communicative codes an opportunity for multiplied fruition through an extraordinary immersive experience.” Fabio Sbaraglia – Councilor for Culture of Ravenna \nYes\, Yes… \nA creation that in a few minutes seeks to capture the atmosphere of the Silver Factory created by Andy Warhol in 1962: a place that has entered the collective imagination as a meeting point for artists and a hub of innovation and development of pop culture. The music for Yes\, Yes… is composed by artists Dean and Britta for Andy Warhol’s film Most Beautiful. The guitar sounds and the rock references to the 1970s remind us of the rhythms of the rock band Velvet Underground\, whose album was produced right at the Silver Factory. \n\n  \nA Gig \nA Gig is an opening or closing number. Something brief that serves to warm up the audience or bid goodnight to those who came to see us. In rock slang\, it’s often performed by the headlining group of an event. It’s not a full concert\, but a short performance that aims to capture the style\, vibes\, and intensity of the band in just a few minutes. In this new MicroDance\, I want to use the two dancers to engage closely with the audience’s gaze\, as if it were a little surprise in a context where a performance was unexpected. With the sound of the music\, the two dancers move over a text that says “easy\,” becoming themselves broken voices and glamorous seduction instruments. \n\n  \nPROGRAM AND HOURS \n“`html\nSaturday\, December 16th\nA Gig – Performance times: 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM \nSunday\, December 17th\nYes\, Yes… – Performance times: 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM \nTuesday\, December 19th\nYes\, Yes… – Performance times: 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM \nWednesday\, December 20th\nYes\, Yes… – Performance times: 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM \nFriday\, December 22nd\nYes\, Yes… – Performance times: 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM\n“` \nTHE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE \nBetween 1993 and 1994\, the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Emilia Romagna\, interrupting the works for the construction of an underground parking lot\, unearthed near Via D’Azeglio a complex of building structures dating back to the Republican Roman period and the Byzantine period. \nIn particular\, what stood out among the archaeological stratigraphy was a complex of about 700 square meters consisting of 14 rooms and 2 courtyards dating to the 6th century AD\, surely belonging to an affluent family of the city given the splendor of the materials found concurrently. \nElevated walkways allow visitors to walk around the entire perimeter of the archaeological site and admire up close the wonderful floor mosaics that characterize it. In particular\, during the process of musealization\, priority was given to showcasing the phases of the rich Byzantine residence\, in which the amalgamation of two different buildings is now clearly visible\, originally separated by a Roman road of which part of the pavement is still visible. \nAll the rooms of the building were floored with marble tarsia or polychrome tesserae with refined geometries and figurative inserts. Among these\, the large reception hall stands out\, at the center of which is the mosaic depiction of the dancing seasons in a circle to the sound of the musician Pan. Autumn\, Spring on the left\, Winter covered by a hood can be recognized\, and finally a hint of Summer can be inferred\, a decoration unfortunately lost. \nINFO AND TICKETS \nMicroDanze admission included in the entrance ticket to the Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra: Full price €6\, reduced price €5 \nFree admission for holders of the Trilogia d’Autunno 2023 ticket (also valid for free admission to the Museo Classis Ravenna until January 7\, 2024) \nInformation: tel. 0544 32512 or at the ticket office of the Domus dei Tappeti di Pietra\, via Barbiani www.ravennantica.it \n

SUMMARY:Made in Italy 30.0
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n“`html\n  \nThe performance will take place on December 22nd with two showings:\n1st showing: 6:00 PM\n2nd showing: 9:00 PM \n  \nThe protagonists of the evening are the dancers of Agora Coaching Project\, a high-level training project promoted and supported by MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. Started in 2010\, the course is gaining full recognition in the European dance world and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \nB.7 SYMPHONY by Emanuele Soavi\nThe tireless drive of Beethoven towards artistic renewal and his dissected and even visionary vision of the social and political movements of his time give his work an inexhaustible energy\, like a continuous flow\, just like the flood in nature when it changes the shape of the landscape and living conditions. This idea of constant change\, of juxtaposition of opposites\, of interaction\, of exchange\, of shared emotions and experiences is essentially the starting point for this choreographic composition. Both the stage itself and the protagonists who inhabit it with their movements\, which continually take on a new form in each of the individual parts\, create abstract images that consciously and unconsciously define the idea of a multiform self\, which lives today in a modern society that is in a state of continuous upheaval and change. \nGERSHWIN SUITE by Michele Merola\nIn the notes of George Gershwin (1898-1937)\, one of the most representative musicians of the 20th century\, reflects the spirit of the time in which they are created\, the moods and atmospheres of the Roaring Twenties. Starting from the best pieces of the composer\, and from the suggestions of the pictorial works of another great American artist of the ‘900\, Edward Hopper (1882-1967)\, Michele Merola has created Gershwin Suite. On stage\, a lot of variety takes on the ways of a movie set\, thanks also to a constantly changing set design\, just like on a set\, and a choreography that touches more keys\, the work of a choreographer capable of declining his creativity and his talent in step with the times of contemporaneity. \n PERFORMERS \n6:00 PM\nCorrado Azzollini\, Jasmine Begici\, Elisa Bocconi\, Laura Dell’Agnese\, Sara Ferrentino\, Nicole Forni\, Giulia Lusetti\, Lucrezia Maggiore\, Maya Maselli\, Carlotta Maucioni\, Martina Procacci\, Federico Musumec\, Filippo Penco\, Jada Piccinini\, Susanna Russing\, Gennaro Todisco\, Gaia Camilla\, Zorrilla Leonini. \n9:00 PM\nChiara Barril\, Jacopo Bellan\, Giulia Boccarossa\, Giovanni Karol Borriello\, Salvatore Bruno\, Lucrezia Capuzzell\, Anna Dal Maso\, Vittoria Facci\, Chiara Gionti\, Aurora Lattanzi\, Luna Lefebvre\, Gioele Marcante\, Laura Miotti\, Martina Pagliari\, Alessia Russo\, Diletta Suman.\n“` \nAGORA COACHING PROJECT \nAgora Coaching Project is an annual dance training program aimed at dancers aged between 18 and 22 years old\, based in Reggio Emilia. Established in 2010\, it is directed by Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli\, and is promoted and supported by MM Contemporary Dance Company and Centro Permanente Danza of Reggio Emilia. Its goal is to train artists ready to face the variety of the international dance market in a flexible manner\, capable of responding to requests of different nature\, both technical and stylistic\, coming from this same market. The project aims to offer a wide range of stimuli\, including technical\, cultural\, and exchange opportunities between students and choreographers\, each of whom comes from different and interesting backgrounds in the international dance scene. Agora allows students to meet established choreographers with different stylistic orientations\, and over the years has seen the participation of many illustrious names. Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli collaborate with various teachers\, each of whom has proven and qualified experience in the field\, to realize the project. \nMICHELE MEROLA \nMichele Merola is the artistic director and main choreographer of the MM Contemporary Dance Company\, a contemporary dance company founded in 1999 in Reggio Emilia\, which won the prestigious Danza & Danza Award in 2010 as the best emerging company. With the company\, he has brought many of his choreographies to the stage\, both in Italy and abroad\, including La metà dell’ombra\, winner of the Anita Bucchi Award in 2010\, and Bolero\, Europaindanza Award 2017 – Choreography Merit Award. Since 2000\, he has created numerous works for other companies\, including Aterballetto\, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli\, Dominic Walsh Dance Theatre\, Teatro Massimo di Palermo\, Junior Balletto di Toscana\, Teatro Nazionale di Belgrado\, Tanzcompagnie Landesbühnen Sachsen in Dresden\, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. In 2003\, he won the International Choreography Competition in Hannover\, in 2008 he received the Positano Leonide Massine Award for the Art of Dance\, and in 2016\, the GD Awards 2016 as Best Italian Choreographer. In 2017\, he won the L’Abella Danza Award at the Roman Amphitheater of Avella (AV). In 2018\, he received the “Encounter with Dance” award instituted by Basilicata ArteDanza. Since 2010\, Merola has been the artistic director\, alongside Enrico Morelli\, of Agora Coaching Project\, a professional training project for dancers based in Reggio Emilia. \nEMANUELE SOAVI \nEmanuele Soavi began his dance studies in Ferrara and later at the Balletto di Toscana. In 1996\, he started working in various Italian theaters\, including the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari and the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. In 1998\, he moved to Germany\, where he worked for three years as a soloist for the Ballet Dortmund\, before moving to the Netherlands to join the renowned Introdans company. Throughout his career\, he has interpreted works by choreographers such as Maurice Béjart\, Jiří Kylián\, Hans van Manen\, Nils Christe\, Renato Zanella\, William Forsythe\, Ton Wiggers\, Nacho Duato\, Karole Armitage\, and Mats Ek. SUMMARY:POP UP - Un fossile di cartone animato
DESCRIPTION:Reinventing the animated book in a theatrical form\, Pop up – Un fossile di cartone animato weaves together the micro-stories of a paper child and a small\, enigmatic sphere. The rhythmic\, chromatic\, and sonic evolutions of their relationship\, their encounters\, reflections\, and transformations come to life on stage. \nThe adventures of the child and their little ball give rise to a symbolic play of geometries and metamorphoses\, touching on central aspects of imagination: fantasy\, invitation\, threat\, and dream. Two actresses\, both animators\, breathe life and voice into the two paper protagonists\, playing with the emergence of figures and shapes over time\, their interweaving with their bodies\, movement\, and the illusion of motion\, as well as the synchronicity between voices and images. \nSuitable for children aged 3 and up \nCREDITS \nA project by Giulia Gallo\, Giovanni Guerrieri | I Sacchi di Sabbia\nIn collaboration with Giulia Solano\nWith Marta Capaccioli\, Lucrezia Palandri\, and Paolo Romanini\nBooks by Giulia Gallo\nLighting concept by Emiliano Curà\nSet construction by Paolo Romanini\nProduction by Teatro delle Briciole – Solares Fondazione delle Arti \nPOP UP: THE SHOW \nThe chromatic exploration of various cartoons comprising the performance serves as a powerful means to delve into basic emotions and create sets of associations between feelings\, shapes\, and colors. The variations on the theme\, harmonizing with the musical exploration of ambient sounds\, become a flexible tool for an experimental exploration of the child’s imagination. \nThe concept of scenically reinventing the pop-up book\, the challenge of creating a handcrafted cartoon—a sort of cardboard fossil in the age of 3D—is a precious opportunity for reflection on animation\, its contemporary techniques’ saturation and invasiveness. It opens the door to a more evocative and less aggressive direction\, allowing more room for imagination in the era of digital dominance. Additionally\, it provides a chance to experimentally blend manipulation\, object theater\, and sounds—lines of exploration cherished by I Sacchi di Sabbia\, now\, for the first time\, directed towards and compared with a young audience. \nTHE AUTHORS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI SACCHI DI SABBIA\nOver the years\, the Company has distinguished itself on the national stage\, receiving significant recognition for the uniqueness of its research focused on reinventing contemporary popular scenes. Il respiro (“…for their intertwining of irony\, history\, and metaphysics”) and won the Special Ubu Award in 2008. In perpetual oscillation between tradition and exploration\, between the comic and the tragic\, I Sacchi di Sabbia’s work has materialized into a language balancing various arts (visual arts\, dance\, music). SUMMARY:OPEN REHEARSAL - RUGGINE / PLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n  \nOpen Rehearsal – 6:00 PM \nShow – 8:30 PM \n  \nRust / Manfredi Perego \n“Self-portrait\nNoise grinds\nNatural within” \nRust is a reflection on the product of the antagonism between darkness and light in humans. Rust is a dramaturgical thought that deals with the dark\, unease\, caprice\,\nsuffering; observing these emotions and the actions they provoke without judgment. Rust is a dedication to the area that is usually hidden with great effort. The choreography does not generate an answer\, but rather creates a path that allows one to immerse and cross these moods and dissect them without prejudice. Like in a liberating dedication to the annoying part of ourselves\, the choreography outlines and crosses a sequence devoid of chronology\, an ideal representation of what is usually considered a flaw. \nPLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT / Balletto Teatro di Torino \n“The choreographic challenge is to give visual and dynamic concreteness to the emotion that each note expresses\, capturing the nuances of Bach’s music by translating into dance a process of emotional analysis of what the musical score suggests.\nThe violence and sweetness that arise from the vibration of the played notes must have a physical correspondence\, creating dances that traverse worlds of new carnal frequencies. The project starts from the need to challenge oneself with classical musical scores\, never tackled before\, to discover new approaches to choreography and open up to new dynamic visions. Studies on Bach will be a choreographic gym\, a mutable choreographic space\, which does not end its evolution. Live music stitches the dancer’s epidermis to the place\, bringing it to another level of interpretation and listening. At the same time\, the air moved by the bodies impacts the musicians\, making tangible the action of dance on the instrument.” – Manfredi Perego \n  \nCREDITS \n“`html\nRUST \nChoreography/Dance by Manfredi Perego\nOriginal Music by Paolo Codognola\nLighting Design by Roberta Faiolo\nDuration 20 minutes\nA work produced by Tirdanza\, with the co-production of Milanoltre Festival\, in collaboration with Fondazione TeatroDue Parma\, Europa Teatri \nPLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT \nChoreography by Manfredi Perego\nDancers: Flavio Ferruzzi\, Lisa Mariani\, Luca Tomasoni\, Nadja Guesewell\, Viola Scaglione\nMusic by J.S. SUMMARY:Ruggine / PLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n\n  \n\n  \nOpen Rehearsal – 6:00 PM \nPerformance – 8:30 PM \nRuggine / Manfredi Perego \nRuggine is a contemplation of the outcome of the antagonism between darkness and light within humans. It is a dramaturgical exploration of the obscure\, restlessness\, caprice\, suffering; observing these emotions and the actions they provoke without judgment. Ruggine is a dedication to the area that is usually concealed with great effort. The choreography doesn’t generate an answer but rather creates a path that allows immersion and traversal of these moods\, dissecting them without prejudice. Like a liberating dedication to the bothersome part of ourselves\, the choreography sketches and traverses a sequence without chronology\, an ideal representation of what is usually considered a flaw. \nPLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT / Balletto Teatro di Torino \nThe choreographic challenge is to give visual and dynamic concreteness to the emotion that each note expresses\, capturing the nuances of Bach’s music and translating into dance an emotional analysis process of what the musical score suggests. The violence and sweetness that arise from the vibration of the played notes must have a physical correspondence\, creating dances that traverse worlds of new carnal frequencies. The project starts from the need to challenge classical musical scores\, never tackled before\, to discover new approaches to choreography and open up to new dynamic visions. Studies on Bach will be a choreographic gym\, a mutable choreutic place that doesn’t end its evolution. Live music stitches the dancer’s epidermis to the space\, taking interpretation and listening to another level. At the same time\, the air moved by the bodies impacts the musicians\, making tangible the dance’s action on the instrument. \nCREDITS \nRUGGINE \nCoreography/Dance by Manfredi Perego\nOriginal Music by Paolo Codognola\nLighting Design by Roberta Faiolo\nDuration 20′\nA work produced by Tirdanza\, co-produced by Milanoltre Festival\, in collaboration with Fondazione TeatroDue Parma\, Europa Teatri \nPLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT \nChoreography by Manfredi Perego\nDancers Flavio Ferruzzi\, Lisa Mariani\, Luca Tomasoni\, Nadja Guesewell\, Viola Scaglione\nMusic by J.S. SUMMARY:YELED - SECUS
DESCRIPTION:  \nOn Friday\, January 26th\, Aterballetto arrives in Foligno at the Teatro Politeama Clarici\, as part of the 2023/2024 season organized by the Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria. On this occasion\, the entire company of sixteen dancers presents Yeled and Secus\, choreographed by Israeli choreographers Eyal Dadon and Ohad Naharin\, respectively. \nYeled by Eyal Dadon \n\nYeled in Hebrew means child. Can we change ourselves as adults? Can we go back to being children?\n“In the process of creation with the dancers\, I reflected on the moment in our lives\, as adults\, when we lost the feeling of being children\, the feeling of being naturally pure\, and the ability to have clean filters. When was the moment we lost our innocence and why? One of the main keys to the creation is the real things we learned as children and how these things shaped us into the people we are today.” – Eyal Dadon \nSecus by Ohad Naharin \n\nSecus boasts a musical collage that ranges from the unusual electronic styles of AGF to the seductive Indian melodies of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai\, to the resonant harmonies of the Beach Boys. This adventurously eclectic mix serves as the suitable backdrop for a bold and extravagant choreography that unfolds before our incredulous eyes in a human alphabet made up of sprints\, solos\, crisp and clean gestures\, interrupted duets. Through precise and sudden kicks\, sinuous disarticulation of hips\, torsos bending in all directions like molding clay\, Secus expresses pure emotions and feelings without becoming sentimental.

SUMMARY:ALPHA GRACE - "O" - SHOOT ME
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, January 28th Aterballetto performs at the Teatro Comunale di Todi\, as part of the 2023/2024 season organized by the Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria. For the occasion\, the entire company of sixteen dancers presents a triptych composed of Alpha Grace\, and “O” by Philippe Kratz\, and Shoot me by Diego Tortelli. \n\n– \n\n– \n\nBetween past and future\, two creations by Philippe Kratz. Alpha Grace\, a pas de six\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication between people who feel on the same level. It\, too\, is put to the test by the present times. \nFollowing that is “O”\, two bodies/automatons that force us to question how the sense of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and felt\, or become serial and alienated? \nClosing the performance is the choreography by Diego Tortelli\, Shoot me\, which\, in its construction\, draws inspiration from the concept of a concert-ballet revisited in a contemporary key\, where music and dance accompany each other. A frontal work that aims to establish a direct exchange between the dancers on stage and the audience in the auditorium: a game of seduction\, of glances\, of sweat\, an assault on the senses\, and an ode to the body\, to breathing the same air\, sweat\, tears\, fury\, pride.
