SUMMARY:Stanze \ Rooms
DESCRIPTION:SITE-SPECIFIC ITINERANT PERFORMANCE \nChoreography and concept: Diego Tortelli\nLighting design: Diego Tortelli and Paolo Bonapace\nMusic: various artists\n \nStaging and creation specially conceived for the Teatro Municipale Valli\n \nANOTHER STORY / 2021 – Premiere – site specific version \nPRELUDIO / 2021 – Premiere – site specific version \nDOMUS AUREA – 2018 creation – excerpts \nWorks in exhibition: \nDomus Aurea – installation by Massimo Uberti\nLASCIA CH’IO… – video – installation by Diego Tortelli \n  \nThe resident choreographer of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, Diego Tortelli\, custom-designs an original creation for the spaces of the Teatro Municipale Valli. A tribute to a special place of the town\, a message of artistic vitality in one of the most difficult periods experienced by the citizens and a reaffirmation of the central importance of the collaboration between two of the major Italian cultural institutions\, I Teatri and Aterballetto. \nStanze \ Rooms is a site-specific itinerant performance. Tortelli starts from the suggestions of the foyer\, the stage and the rooms of the Ridotto of the Teatro Valli and imagines a choreographic and musical tour. The audience will enter in an exciting close relationship with the dancers of the company and will live in a special way spaces usually dedicated to representation and conviviality. \n  \nWhen \nSaturday 15\, Sunday 16 and Monday 17 May 2021 \nHours \n16.00 / 18.00 / 20.00 \nDuration \n40′ \n\n\n\n\nAnother story \n\n\nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Spiritualized\nMusic consultant Federico Bigonzetti \nDuration 13’ – For 2 dancers \nAnother story wants to tell the new story of the most feared and at the same time desired gesture of 2020\, suffering from a global epidemic: the hug.\nA gesture as simple as a hug has now been reinvented by adding infinite variations to its most basic meaning\, transforming itself into the most hidden desire and\, on the other side\, into an almost “terrorist” act\, without losing its deep meaning of actual carnal sharing. \nAnother story thus becomes a solitary hug\, a shared hug\, a violent\, painful\, tiring and also desired\, hidden\, intimate\, idolised hug… the only prediction we cannot rely on is how this simple gesture will continue its mutation; what choreographer Diego Tortelli intends to do is to write another story for it to be felt and watched by both performer and spectator. \nFND/Aterballetto – Another story – ph. Celeste Lombardi \n  \n\n\nPRELUDIO \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Nick Cave\nAssistant to the choreographer Casia Vengoechea \nDuration 16’ – For 5 dancers \n\n\nPRELUDIO is a creation for 5 performers designed around some of the most intense songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, one of the greatest exponents of Post Punk. \nIn his songs\, Cave explores the interplay of themes such as love\, “belief”\, addiction\, obsession and loss\, crossing over each other as if he were telling a story\, an experience that can be perceived by everyone through his use of notes or tone of voice. His strength is that it is not essential to fully understand the content or the source of inspiration in order to ‘hear’ and ‘be heard’. Through his work\, Cave argues that we should not go to the theatre\, to a concert\, to a museum\, in order to understand\, but in order to ask questions and to enrich ourselves\, to analyse ourselves. \nIn one of his pieces I found the question I wanted to ask myself for this creation: MAH SANCTUM (my belief). \nWhat do I believe in? I believe in the ‘body’\, I believe in its fragility and strength\, in its limitation and expansion\, in its capacity for change and constant transformation\, I believe in its contemporaneity\, but also in its capacity to continue to feel those emotions that have been handed down to us; I believe in its violent beauty and frightening fragility. In this work I research above all on these obsessions\, compulsions\, addictions\, contrasts\, transforming the bodies of the five dancers not into men and women\, but into emotional impulses; impulses that are part of written poems of which it would be enough to understand that they do not end there on the stage. \nPRELUDIO is my profane prayer\, my love letter to the body\, my credo for today. \nDiego Tortelli \n\n\nFND/Aterballetto – Preludio – ph. Celeste Lombardi \nDomus Aurea - excerpts \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Johann Sebastian Bach\, Suites Francesi\, transcribed by Giorgio Colombo Taccani\nEugène Ysaye\, 6 Sonatas for Solo Violin\, Op. 27: NO 2\, Sonata in A Minor\nGeorges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff\, Prayer of Gratitude \nDomus Aurea is a space created through a continuous interweaving of the rational and the irrational.\nThis is the condition we live in\, always poised between the certain and the uncertain\, driven by the desire for change and the utopia of being able to at least touch perfection and freedom. And perhaps today this belongs only to art. \nFondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto – Domus Aurea – ph. Lorenza Daverio

SUMMARY:Made in Italy 24.0 - open rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:Agora Coaching Project – ph. Nicola Stasi \n OPEN DRESS REHEARSAL_AGORA COACHING PROJECT\nThe protagonists are the dancers of the Agora Coaching Project\, an advanced dance training project promoted and supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. Started in 2010\, the course is now gaining full recognition in the world of European dance and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \nOn stage Made in Italy 24.0\, a programme consisting of Träfen Wir Uns\, Uscita di Sicurezza\, LEGO. \nTräfen Wir Uns \nChoreography Ivan Alboresi\nMusic Davidson Jaconello\, Stefan Levin\, Frèdèric Chopin \nTräfen wir uns is a new creation by Ivan Alboresi for the young dancers of the Agora Coaching Project. The choreography deals with various problems of the individual in contemporary society. The virtual reality\, which the world pushes us to seek and create\, contrasts with the loneliness present in everyday life. The problem of one’s identity outside of the digital self-presentation\, the desire for “real” encounters and connections\, as well as the omnipresence of fears and their influence on our actions\, form the foundations of this piece. \nIvan Alboresi shows restless protagonists who are constantly searching for themselves\, for support\, for security. But at the same time the fear of connecting with the other\, of losing control or being rejected. He contrasts this restlessness with moments of almost catatonic torpor. The choice of music\, a fundamental part of Ivan Alboresi’s choreographies\, goes from classical pieces to contemporary music to the use of sound carpets created in collaboration with the composer Davidson Jaconello. \nDuration: 30′ \nUscita di sicurezza \nChoreography Enrico Morelli\nMusic Ben Frost\, Vex’d\, Max Richter\nCostumes Nuvia Valestri \nFirst performance: March 2012 \nUscita di Sicurezza catapults us into a parallel universe\, into an alienating underworld where fog\, rhythmic contractions and frenetic bodies enhance the dangerous influence of the herd.\nThey are all victims and aggressors\, they are all perpetrators of a revolt suffocated within bodies that abandon and recover in a rhythmically controlled tension. The lack of personal identity\, if not in function of the others\, the need to belong\, the incapacity of autonomy determine a sense of oppression from which to escape. The way out and the road to freedom here pass through the recognition of one’s own weakness: no longer existing only in function of others but breaking the rhythm by accepting oneself and one’s own fragile uniqueness. \nDuration: 30′ \nLEGO \nChoreography Giuseppe Spota\nMusic Afiletta\, Ezio Bosso\, Jóhann Jóhannsson\, Ólafur Arnalds/Nils Frahm\nMaster repeater Damiano Artale \nCreation created for Compagnia Aterballetto (2015) \nBridges\, connections\, streets to be travelled searching for oneself\, searching for love\, friendship\, family\, life. SUMMARY:OMBRE (excerpts) - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\nTribute to Dante Alighieri\, is a scenic polyphony between body\, Dante’s verses and sound environments.\nThe originality of the creative approach lies both in the cross-media staging and in the production format. The project is in fact conceived to be modular and modulable: each solo is composed of several interchangeable scenic elements\, which relate dynamically to the structure that houses them.\nThe 3 “actors” of the scenic polyphony imagined by Monica Casadei are the performers for the choreography of the chosen Dantean Ombra\, the voice off of an actor/actress\, the sound carpet/atmosphere composed by a sound designer who elaborates a Dantean sound from Verdi’s Requiem. \nCREDITS \nChoreography\, direction Monica Casadei\nMusic by Luca Vianini\nVoice actor Agostino Rocca\nDirection Alessandro Ceci\nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza\nIn collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institutes of Jakarta\, Lima\, Mumbai\, Prague\, Tunisi \nCOMPAGNIA ARTEMIS DANZA \nOriginally from Ferrara\, Monica Casadei graduates in philosophy cum laude writing a dissertation on dance in Plato’s system. After a career as a professional acrobatic gymnast\, she takes to studying classic and modern dance\, at first in Italy\, then in London\, and eventually in Paris where she gets to meet choreographers Pierre Doussaint and Isabelle Doubouloz and the Master André Cognard Hanshi So shihan\, with whom she still practices the martial art of Aikido. \nIn France\, she founds the company Artemis Danza\, with which she later moves to Italy\, in 1997\, giving birth to a fervent production activity that amounts\, nowadays\, to over 40 original creations. \nFrom 1998 to 2007\, the Company is part of an artist residency at Fondazione Teatro Due in Parma whereas\, from 2014 up to this day\, it partakes in an artist residency at Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Artemis Danza has been invited to the most important Italian theatres and festivals and to several international tours and festivals. \nPivotal elements in Monica Casadei’ s artistic research are the influences from different artistic\, cultural and geographic fields and the exploration of urban spaces and places that turn into stages for performances. \nAlongside the production activity\, Artemis funds\, produces and promotes young choreographers and organizes several activities meant to artistically educate the audience. \nartemisdanza.com \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 3 euro\nUnder 8: free \nPURCHASING TICKETS\nIn compliance with anti-Covid regulations\, tickets can only be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it up to one hour before the performance.\nTherefore tickets cannot be booked by phone or by e-mail. \nThe ticket service in the Fonderia is suspended. \nTickets are not numbered. \nENTRANCE\nYou can enter the Fonderia 15 minutes before the performance\, showing your online purchase.\nAt the entrance\, the temperature will be tested and if the temperature exceeds 37.5°C\, you will not be allowed to enter and you must fill in the Covid self-certification form.\nIn order to avoid queues at the entrance\, please download the Covid self-certification form (it must be submitted on paper) and fill it in beforehand. SUMMARY:Don Juan
DESCRIPTION:Don Juan\, choreography by Swedish Johan Inger and winner of the Danza&Danza ‘Best Production 2020’ Award\, finally reaches Ravenna Festival\, where it was due to première last year. \nThe choreography is born from Inger’s desire to “face” Don Juan/Don Giovanni\, an ancient and still contemporary\, truly paradigmatic myth. Some of the works that inspired the choreographer are Tirso de Molina’s original comedy and the plays by Molière\, Bertold Brecht and Suzanne Lilar. Inger\, together with the playwright Gregor Acuña-Pohl\, thoroughly read twenty-five different texts inspired by Don Juan. \nThis Don Juan features all the characters of the story\, from Doña Elvira to Doña Ana to Zerlina and Masetto. The Don Juan is a Kammerspiel\, where the dance is a magnifying glass for each of the characters revealing in a refined and clear way the inner world of men and women on stage. \nRavenna Festival is one of the co-producers of the choreography.

SUMMARY:Frammenti d’Inferno_1 - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:OPEN REHEARSAL\nFrammenti d’Inferno_ 1 brings the author’s focus to the representation of the demons and damned of the infernal hosts\, to the investigation of the characters that the Poet encounters on his journey and the torments reserved for them. A succession of choreographic pictures\, with different music and atmospheres. Characters chosen by the choreographer to investigate the human soul and compose a poetic and fascinating picture\, perturbing\, in which every archetype of the collective unconscious finds its own carnal and earthly manifestation. Dissipating\, as Dante did\, the darkness that envelops these famous damned souls and bringing them to the light\, literally under the spotlight\, Monica Casadei chooses to follow them along a path of sin\, awareness\, acceptance\, where the point of arrival is no longer punishment but the expressive power of the Ego\, in its fullness and truth. \nCREDITS \nChoreography\, direction Monica Casadei\nMusic Giuseppe Verdi\nSound design Luca Vianini\nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza\nCo-production FIND Festival \n  \nCOMPAGNIA ARTEMIS DANZA \nOriginally from Ferrara\, Monica Casadei graduates in philosophy cum laude writing a dissertation on dance in Plato’s system.

SUMMARY:Storie
DESCRIPTION:THE PERFORMANCE WAS CANCELLED FOR REASONS RELATED TO THE HEALTH EMERGENCY.\nAterballetto dances at Florence Dance Festival and presents Storie for the first time. \nStorie is a small anthology of danced fragments. They are only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the bill\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on Nick Cave music\, Another story is a duo about the impossible gesture of 2020\, the hug. \nBetween past and future the two creations by Kratz. The duo “O” offers us two human bodies / robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and heartfelt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a creation for six dancers at the end of the bill\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication among people who feel on the same level. It too is severely stretched by the present times. \n  \n\n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Another Story
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED PERFORMANCE\nThe performance has been cancelled due to some positive cases among the dancers\, in compliance with prevention and safety measures to combat and contain the spread of Covid. \nAnother Story\, the duet by Diego Tortelli\, is at Scandicci\, near Florence\, for the festival Nutida. \nStarring Ina Lesnakowski and Hélias Tur-Dorvault. \nAnother Story tells the new story of the most feared and at the same time desired gesture of 2020: the hug. A gesture as simple as a hug has been transformed into the most hidden desire and at the opposite into an almost “terrorist” act\, without losing its deep meaning of carnal sharing. Another Story becomes a solitary\, shared\, violent\, painful\, tiring and also desired\, hidden\, intimate embrace. What choreographer Diego Tortelli intends to do is to write another story to be mutually felt and observed by performer and spectator. \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Corpi/Bodies
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto dances in Rome\, within Fuori Programma Festival. \nOn scene Corpi/Bodies\, evening composed of works by Diego Tortelli\, our resident choreographer. \nThe evening will be opened by Diego Tortelli himself\, who together with the complicity of Gaia Clotilde Chernetich\, dramaturg and dance researcher\, will tell the audience how a creative idea can be transformed into dance. The choreographer will show live\, in a simple and engaging way\, the creative process of a choreography\, accompanied by Aterballetto dancer Sandra Salietti Aguilera. \nTo follow MAUDIT Reloaded\, Sonata in trio\, Another Story\, Preludio. \n  \nMAUDIT reloaded \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Spiritualized (Rated X)\nDancer Sandra Salietti Aguilera \nDuration 6’ \nChoreography created for Grace Lyell with the projetc In/Finito \n  \n\nThe life of our city is full of poetic and marvellous subjects. We are wrapped and enveloped in an atmosphere that has much that is wonderful\, but we aren’t aware of it.\nDon’t disregard anyone’s sensitivity. Each person’s sensitivity is their genius. \nCharles Baudelaire \n\nUsing a fragmented movement a dancer wants to tell the tragedy and constant innovation of the Body\, a dance that doesn’t wait for time to flow\, but shapes it at its will by speeding up and slowing the hours to reveal their skill\, beauty\, distortion and memory. Freedom of corporal expression of this poetic is achieved by a total embrace of the body’s folly just as the “maudit” deals with his place in society by destroying every rational connection before letting his own experience take over\, without constraints. The dancer will face the reflection of her image portrayed in the photograph\, breathing life\, folly and imagination into the place where her portrait was made and constantly recreating herself and providing the city with a body and a sensitivity as it too is a poetical and marvellous subject. \nDiego Tortelli \nSONATA IN TRIO \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Eugène Ysaye\, Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff\, ambienti sonori di Colombo Taccani\nDancers Saul Daniele Ardillo\, Martina Forioso\, Clément Haenen \nDuration 8’ \nFND/Aterballetto – Sonata in trio – ph. Celeste Lombardi \nAnother story \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Spiritualized\nMusic consultant Federico Bigonzetti\nLighting design Carlo Cerri\nDancers Ina Lesnakowski\, Hélias Tur-Dorvault \nDuration 13’ \nAnother story wants to tell the new story of the most feared and at the same time desired gesture of 2020\, suffering from a global epidemic: the hug.\nA gesture as simple as a hug has now been reinvented by adding infinite variations to its most basic meaning\, transforming itself into the most hidden desire and\, on the other side\, into an almost “terrorist” act\, without losing its deep meaning of actual carnal sharing. \nPreludio \nChoreography Diego Tortelli\nMusic Nick Cave\nLighting design Carlo Cerri\nAssistant to the choreographer Casia Vengoechea\nDancers Clément Haenen\, Ivana Mastroviti\, Sandra Salietti Aguilera\, Roberto Tedesco\, Hélias Tur-Dorvault \nDuration 18’ \nPRELUDIO is a creation for 5 performers designed around some of the most intense songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, one of the greatest exponents of Post Punk.\nIn his songs\, Cave explores the interplay of themes such as love\, “belief”\, addiction\, obsession and loss\, crossing over each other as if he were telling a story\, an experience that can be perceived by everyone through his use of notes or tone of voice. \nPRELUDIO is my profane prayer\, my love letter to the body\, my credo for today.\n \nDiego Tortelli \n\n\n
