SUMMARY:Corpi Violati #DJOperaNoir
DESCRIPTION:In CorpiViolati Monica Casadei follows up her investigation on the theme of violence against women\, begun several years ago with the transposition into dance of some famous feminicides from Italian and other melodramas.\nIn CorpiViolati\, a community of bodies\, both female and male\, swarms\, locked in the memory of a wound. This wound echoes on stage in an incessant dance nourished by impulses\, instincts\, anger and pain\, in which overwhelming group dances are interspersed with duets and solos. \n\nCREDITS \nchoreography\, direction\, set design\, lighting and costumes: Monica Casadei\nLive Electronic: Fabio Fiandrini\nChoreographer’s assistant: Alessandra Pizza\nCostume design: Elena Nunziata \nProduction Compagnia Artemis Danza\nCoproduction Festival di Danza Contemporanea – Teatro Comunale di Ferrara\nIn partnership with Comune di Rimini – Teatro Galli\n \nWith the support of Ministero della Cultura\, Regione Emilia-Romagna\, Comune di Parma\n \nSynopsis \n«Giammai Carmen cederà! Libera è nata e libera morirà!». «Sempre libera degg’io».\nThey are the ode to freedom of Carmen\, the protagonist of Prosper Mérimée’s novella and Georges Bizet’s opera\, and Violetta Valéry in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata. Women figures who are symbols of independence of thought\, of strength and courage and at the same time of fragility in the face of violence and prevarication. Their freedom\, as in so many other cases\, is punished\, violated\, with tragic results. Inspired by the many stories of gender violence recounted in literature and melodrama\, only a small number compared to the infinite number of stories in the daily news\, the project “Corpi violati” (Violated Bodies) by the Compagnia Artemis Danza\, founded and directed by Monica Casadei.\nThe choreographic project was born from the desire to bring attention to the theme of violence against women\, and from Artemis Danza’s long-standing collaboration with the Anti-Violence Centres of the D.I.Re Network (Women in the Network against Violence). \nCOMPAGNIA ARTEMIS DANZA \nBorn in Ferrara and graduated with honours with a thesis on Plato and dance\, Monica Casadei\, after a competitive career in rhythmic gymnastics\, devoted herself to the study of classical and modern dance\, first in Italy\, then in London\, and finally in Paris\, where she met choreographers Pierre Doussaint and Isabelle Doubouloz and master André Cognard Hanshi So shihan\, with whom she still practices the martial art of Aikido. He founded the company Artemis Danza in France\, with which he moved to Italy in 1997\, giving life to an intense production activity that counts\, to date\, over forty original creations. From 1998 to 2007 the company was in residence at the Fondazione Teatro Due in Parma\, while since 2014 it has been in artistic residence at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Artemis Danza has been invited to the most important Italian theatres and festivals and to numerous international tours and festivals. \nFundamental to Monica Casadei’s artistic research is the contamination with different artistic\, cultural and geographic territories\, as well as the exploration of places and urban spaces that become the stage for performative actions. \nAlongside its production activity\, Artemis supports\, produces and promotes young authors and carries out multiple activities to educate the public. \nartemisdanza.com \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS \nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced price under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL members Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced price under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at the Foundry is open from 8 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Struggle for the soul - Welcome to my funeral
DESCRIPTION:The increasingly interesting company Equilibrio Dinamico returns to the Fonderia with two new productions. \nStruggle for the Soul is the new creation by company director Roberta Ferrara. The choreography represents on stage the inner dissension present in each of us. \nWelcome to my funeral is the production by Brandon Lagaert\, an artist who has been collaborating for years with the internationally renowned dance theatre company Peeping Tom. The creation is also supported by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto. \n  \nStruggle for the Soul \nStudio\nChoreography: Roberta Ferrara\nDancers: Antonello Amati and Olivia Grassot \nThe study focuses on the ongoing battle between our fixed body and our eternal spirit. The performers seek peaceful coexistence as if there were two great wolves living inside each of them: one white\, the other black. \nIf they choose to feed them both\, they will never fight for each other’s attention and will be able to use each of them as needed. Since there will be no war between the two\, one will be able to listen to the deeper voice of one’s own consciousness. Two great forces within us co-exist and if we regard them with equal respect\, they will both be victorious and coexist in peace. \nA man who achieves inner peace has everything. A man who is torn apart by the war that is fought within him is nothing. I ask myself: how is this battle going for each of you? \nWelcome to my funeral \nChoreographer: Brandon Lagaert\nArtistic assistant: Sara Angelucci\nMusic: Felix Machtelinckx\nLight Designer: Alessandro Caso\nCostumes: Franco Colamorea\nDancers: Alessandro Ottaviani\, Anabel Barotte Moreno\, Olivia Grassot\, Tonia Laterza \nOrganisation and executive production: Vincenzo Losito\nProduction assistant: Alessia Cofone\nProduction: Equilibrio Dinamico\nCo-production: Fondazione Fabbrica Europa per le arti contemporanee ETS\, ResExtensa/Centro di produzione della danza Porta d’Oriente SPA\nProduction support: Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto \nThe performance focuses on the increasingly blurred boundaries between the real and virtual worlds.\nDependence on technology has completely changed the way we interact with people and the real world around us. The virtual world is becoming more and more realistic thanks to haptic feedback\, artificial intelligence\, and algorithms that acquire information from people through their input. \nOlder generations claim to have grown up in a Jurassic era\, although even they would struggle without technology as simple as electricity. \nHow do you use technology to feed your ego?\nHow does one use technology to create unique bonds with others or manipulate strangers? \nEQUILIBRIO DINAMICO \nEquilibrio Dinamico\, founded in 2011 by its current artistic director Roberta Ferrara and now based in Bari\, has placed itself in the spotlight for being unique on the Italian dance scene.\nRight from the start\, in fact\, Roberta Ferrara aimed to build a contemporary repertoire company with an international scope by calling upon several choreographers to create world premieres. Jiří Pokorný\, Igor Kirov\, Matthias Kass & Clément Bugnon\, Marco Blázquez\, Riccardo Buscarini\, and Aida Vainieri are just a few of the signatures that have followed to compose the cahier de danse. \nIn addition to celebrating its tenth anniversary\, in 2021 Equilibrio Dinamico Dance Company was recognised by the Ministry of Culture as a Production Body for Under35 Dance\, the only organisation in the Region of Puglia\, and in May 2022 it will be presented in the context of the NID-New Italian Dance Platform in Salerno\, the platform that brings together the best of Italian dance to be exported abroad. \nEquilibrio Dinamico is annually programmed in seasons and festivals in Europe\, America and Asia. In addition\, Equilibrio Dinamico develops collateral projects for the training and promotion of the public by creating a close collaboration with the promotion body Teatro Pubblico Pugliese. \nequilibriodinamico.org \nINFO&TICKETS \nTICKETS \nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced price under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL members Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced price under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service at the Fonderia is open from 8.00 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:BEAST WITHOUT BEAUTY
DESCRIPTION:Beast Without Beauty – Carlo Massari – ph. \n  \n\n  \nCREDITS\nOriginal creation Carlo Massari \nProduction C&C Company \nWith Carlo Massari\, Emanuele Rosa\, Giuseppina Randi \nSound and lighting design Francesco Massari \nConsulting costumes Gabriella Strangolini \nHairstyling Bruna Toneatto \nIn co-production Festival “Danza in Rete” Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza \nWith the support of Festival Oriente Occidente/CID Centro Internazionale della Danza\, CSC/OperaEstate\, Piemonte dal vivo\, ARTEVEN\, Komm-tanz Compagnia Abbondanza/ Bertoni\, h(abita)t – Rete di Spazi per la Danza/Leggere Strutture Art Factory\, Municipality of San Lazzaro di Savena “Protagonismo e Creatività \nWith the support of Residenza I.DRA. and Teatri di Vita within the framework of the “Progetto CURA 2018” \nWith the support of the programme MOVIN’UP SPETTACOLO – PERFORMING ARTS single session 2018/2019 curated by MINISTRY FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE AND ACTIVITIES – General Directorate for the Performing Arts (MiBAC – DG S) and Association for the Circuit of Young Italian Artists (GAI) together with Association of Young Artists of Emilia-Romagna (GA/ER ) With the support of MiBACT and SIAE “Sillumina – Private copies for young people\, for culture”\nSYNOPSIS\nYet another cold\, cold\, merciless look at society. \nAn irreverent\, cynical study of the archetypes of human misery\, of inexpressiveness\, of despicable cruelty in interpersonal relationships. Losers in a superficial relationship face each other in an icy duel; at stake is the affirmation of a role\, an identity\, a social position\, survival. There are no rules\, everything is allowed: we lend ourselves to be prey\, designated victims of the other\, we are aware of it\, we are just waiting for it to happen\, and in turn we are ready to pounce\, offend\, cleave\, crush\, tear\, to mercilessly finish him off\, but without getting our hands dirty. \nA perverse aristocratic game of double-crossing\, of abuse; a hidden\, unspoken\, pastel-coloured violence that leads irretrievably to slaughter\, to extinction; there will be no winners\, only losers. Of all the fussing\, nothing happens…. And so we implode\, unable to get back up\, we abandon ourselves but being careful not to ruin our hairdo\, smudge our make-up\, crease our suits\, not to lose dignity lest we suffer acts of cannibalism\, be devoured by others\, by our emptiness\, by the deaf silence. An attempt to physically recount the evil of living\, the Beckettian paralysis: a man deluded\, desperate to the point of becoming insensitive\, now unable to take charge of his life and remove it from the misery in which he has become mired. A comedy of the absurd (in which we suffer the absurd in spite of ourselves) with the existentialist and post-existentialist flavour of Beckett’s theatre\, perfectly expressed in his ‘Happy Days‘. \nAn authentic plunge into non-sense\, a black irony counterpointing the emaciated pallor of the faces\, a fascination in the absurdity of the scenes\, in the estrangement from human participation in the actions\, in the facts; bloodless figures\, devoid of energy\, exhausted and dehumanised\, as at the end of a long war\, who know they have served no purpose except to do themselves and their own useless harm\, to become cynical and opportunistic in the face of death to the point of contradicting themselves and betraying their playmates. \nBeast Without Beauty – Carlo Massari – ph. Giulia Marangoni \nCARLO MASSARI \nCarlo Massari is a performer\, choreographer and transdisciplinary creator active on the Italian and international contemporary scene. SUMMARY:BEAST WITHOUT BEAUTY - OPEN REHEARSAL
DESCRIPTION:Beast Without Beauty – Carlo Massari – ph. Davide Colagiacomo \n  \nOPEN REHEARSAL \nThe young choreographer Carlo Massari draws inspiration from Samuel Beckett’s Theatre of the Absurd and his Happy Days to narrate the trap of the existential condition. On stage an authentic plunge into non-sense\, an irreverent\, cynical study on the archetypes of human misery\, on inexpressiveness\, on the despicable cruelty in interpersonal relationships. Pale faces\, bloodless\, dehumanised and exhausted figures face each other in an icy duel; at stake is the affirmation of a role\, an identity\, a social position\, with no holds barred. \n  \n\n  \n CREDITSOriginal creation Carlo Massari \nProduction C&C Company \nWith Carlo Massari\, Emanuele Rosa\, Giuseppina Randi \nSound and lighting design Francesco Massari \nConsulting costumes Gabriella Strangolini \nHairstyling Bruna Toneatto \nIn co-production Festival “Danza in Rete” Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza \nWith the support of Festival Oriente Occidente/CID Centro Internazionale della Danza\, CSC/OperaEstate\, Piemonte dal vivo\, ARTEVEN\, Komm-tanz Compagnia Abbondanza/ Bertoni\, h(abita)t – Rete di Spazi per la Danza/Leggere Strutture Art Factory\, Municipality of San Lazzaro di Savena “Protagonismo e Creatività \nWith the support of Residenza I.DRA. and Teatri di Vita within the framework of the “Progetto CURA 2018” \nWith the support of the programme MOVIN’UP SPETTACOLO – PERFORMING ARTS single session 2018/2019 curated by MINISTRY FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE AND ACTIVITIES – General Directorate for the Performing Arts (MiBAC – DG S) and Association for the Circuit of Young Italian Artists (GAI) together with Association of Young Artists of Emilia-Romagna (GA/ER ) With the support of MiBACT and SIAE “Sillumina – Private copies for young people\, for culture”SYNOPSISYet another cold\, cold\, merciless look at society. Giulia Marangoni CARLO MASSARI \nCarlo Massari is a performer\, choreographer and transdisciplinary creator active on the Italian and international contemporary scene. He has always been committed to the research of new performing languages\, and he delves into the hybridisation and mixing of different artistic disciplines\, defining in the “amphibious” form his clear and recognisable distinctive trait. \nHis eclectic training and professional career is characterised by experiences that alternate between prose and musical theatre\, and even dance and physical theatre. SUMMARY:GAP OF 42
DESCRIPTION:GAP of 42 – Chris Iris – ph. Kai Hebestreit \nThe acrobatic dance show Gap of 42 created and performed by two very talented German artists\, Christopher Schlunk and Iris Pelz\, is coming to the Fonderia for the first time. Extraordinary acrobatics and situational comedy meet in a contemporary and entertaining show where two apparently very different bodies come together to create something incredible. \nCREDITS\nCreated and performed by: Iris Pelz and Christopher Schlunk \nOff-stage: Stefan Schönfeld \nMusic: Schroeder (with Jan Fitschen | Felix Borel | Bella Nugent) \nObject theatre coaching: Anne-Kathrin Klatt \nDance coaching: Laura Börtlein \nLighting: Marvin Wöllner\nSYNOPSIS \nTwo dissimilar bodies meet acrobatically. 42 cm separate them in height\, 42 kg in weight. A difference that unites and creates possibilities instead of being an obstacle. The extraordinary acrobatics surprise the audience while the duo’s subtle humour makes them smile. The performers sympathetically and thought-provokingly show how relationships change and how they meet at eye level. Philosophical questions are raised\, absurd moments arise and there is a glimmer of magic. Three wooden objects even out the height difference and become a third partner on stage. The piece is a compilation of contemporary circus\, physical theatre\, dance and object theatre. Acrobatics performed with precision and ease; touching\, poetic and original. \n“Rarely has a dance or acrobatic couple been seen that portrays the great themes of being so subtly\, so poetically.” (Bernd Guido Weber in ‘Schwäbische’ about GAP of 42) \n  \n \n  \nCHRIS IRIS \nChristopher Schlunk and Iris Pelz met at the Academy of Circus and Performing Arts in Tilburg\, the Netherlands\, where they graduated in 2011. They perform all over the world with renowned companies such as Cirque Éloize (Canada)\, Cikus Monti (Switzerland)\, Cirkus Cirkör (Sweden)\, La Soirée (Australia) and Palazzo (Germany). Their innovative number ‘The Microphone’ won numerous awards\, including a silver medal at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain\, the audience award at Young Stage\, first place at Newcomershow and a special award at the Moscow International Circus Festival. The duo has performed in venues such as the famous Sydney Opera House\, Roundhouse in London\, La Tohu in Montreal and the Chamäleon Theater in Berlin. Together with four colleagues from the circus school\, they founded the collective Common Ground. Their first tour took them to festivals such as Atoll (Germany)\, Theater op de Markt (Belgium) and Circus Circle (Netherlands). \nIn 2020/21 Chris and Iris created the duo piece GAP of 42\, their first full-length production as a duo. \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull: 6 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nThe ticket office service in the Fonderia is open from 5.00 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nMobile and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it \n\n

SUMMARY:MADE IN ITALY 28.0
DESCRIPTION:Agora Coaching Project – Made in Italy 27.0 – ph Nicola Stasi \n  \nThe protagonists of the evening are the dancers of the Agora Coaching Project\, an advanced training project promoted and supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. Started in 2010\, the course is gaining full recognition in the European dance world and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \nOn stage Made in Italy 28.0 with choreography by Sasha Waltz and Paolo Mohovich. IN C\nStudy for ‘In C’ \nChoreography by Sasha Waltz \nMusic by Terry Riley \nRe-staged by Davide Di Pretoro \n  \nAn important opportunity for enrichment is the encounter of the young dancers of Agora Coaching Project with the work “In C” by the great choreographer Sasha Waltz. A considerable achievement for the training course supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company\, which is enriched by such a prestigious collaboration as Sasha Waltz & Guest\, bringing Agora fully into a wide-ranging European training context. “In C”\, which the Fondazione I Teatri will host at the Teatro Valli in a few months\, danced by Sasha Waltz’s company\, is one of the German choreographer’s latest works. The work was created to the musical score by Terry Riley\, composed in 1964 and revolutionary for the time\, as it constitutes the first example of minimalist music \nOn this milestone in the history of music\, the great German choreographer Sasha Waltz and the dancers of her company developed a choreographic work that follows an equally variable structure\, deliberately designed not to be a finished scenic piece\, but one that is constantly evolving. The result is an experimental system of choreographic figures that fit within a structured improvisation\, a dynamic and modular system that can be adapted to different times and formats.\nPICCOLI RITI NOTTURNI\nChoreography: Paolo Mohovich \nMusic: Michael Kiwanuka \nAssistant to the choreographer: Diletta Torelli \n  \nThe first walk in a dark wood. The first moonlight swim. The first party\, the first encounters and disencounters (amorous and otherwise)… to be a little older the next day… \nNight rituals that in hindsight appear small\, but how can we forget the emotion that made them appear immense?\nAGORA COACHING PROJECT \nAGORA COACHING PROJECT is a two-year dance training project for dancers between the ages of 16 and 22. Agora aims to train artists ready to flexibly face the variety of the international dance market\, artists capable of responding to the different technical/stylistic demands of this same market. \nThe aim is to provide a solid basis for learning the various techniques in use on the international contemporary dance scene and the different repertoires through the alternation of qualified teachers and artists by bringing to the stage the works created by guest choreographers. The course aims to offer a wide range of stimuli\, technical\, cultural and exchange between students and choreographers\, each of whom comes from and works in different realities among the most interesting on the international scene. Agora brings dancers together with established choreographers and directors of prestigious companies\, thus giving students the opportunity to obtain work contracts; Agora thus represents an active and effective bridge between training and the world of work\, having built a network of collaborations with numerous European companies over the years. Many Agora students are currently working in these prestigious ensembles. \nArtistic direction: Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli \nDancers: Camilla Aiazzi\, Corrado Azzollini\, Beatrice Ballarò\, Erica Barusco\, Gaia Belli\, Marek Brafa\, Anna Dal Maso\, Laura Dell’Agnese\, Sally Demonte\, Vittoria Facci\, Chiara Gionti\, Luca Guerrieri\, Sofia Lacava\, Carlotta Lo Piano\, Erika Loprieno\, Giulia Lusetti\, Giorgia Mantovan\, Gioele Marcante\, Carlotta Maucioni\, Marta Monaci\, Federico Musumeci\, Carmine Olivazzi\, Martina Pagliari\, Martina Procacci\, Susanna Russing\, Emily Rondanini\, Alessia Russo\, Alessio Saccheri\, Viviana Sanfilippo\, Sara Scarponi\, Micol Scotto\, Diletta Suman\, Giorgia Talami\, Gennaro Todisco. \nINFO & TICKETS\nTICKETS\nFull: 10 euro\nReduced under 30\, scuole di danza\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, soci CRAL Comune di Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online su www.biglietteriafonderia39.it.\nThe ticket office service at the Fonderia is open from 8 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nCell and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it\n \n

SUMMARY:Storie
DESCRIPTION:Aterballetto dances Storie at its own Fonderia. \n\nStorie is a small anthology of danced fragments. They are only an infinitesimal part of the very rich artistic and human universe of the two choreographers Diego Tortelli and Philippe Kratz. \nTortelli creates two pieces: Preludio\, opening the bill\, is a love letter to the body for five dancers on Nick Cave music\, Another story is a duo about the impossible gesture of 2020\, the hug. \nBetween past and future the two creations by Kratz. The duo “O” offers us two human bodies / robots that force us to question ourselves on how the sense of physical contact might change: will it remain emotional and heartfelt\, or will it become serial and alienated?\nAlpha Grace\, a creation for six dancers at the end of the bill\, is a reflection on empathy\, a form of gentle communication among people who feel on the same level. It too is severely stretched by the present times. \n  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Massimo Monticelli – Eroide Contemporanea \nGiorgia Lolli – Eufemia\, ph. Andrea Couceiro \nTwo young choreographers from Emilia-Romagna confront on stage a deromanticized present and a past with a nostalgic flavor. \nMassimo Monticelli\, an internationally known dancer and choreographer\, drawing inspiration from Ovid’s collections of love epistles\, rewrites one of them: his Eroide Contemporanea. On stage\, a non-romantic vision of romance and a nostalgia for eras never lived meet. The performers\, furnishing the rooms of a utopian world\, construct between the abstract and the concrete a dimension in which everything becomes both subject and frame. They cultivate an “imperfectionism” devoid of approximations\, which opens to new possible views and oversights. \nEufemia: celestial\, moody\, eloquent\, intimate\, sophisticated\, light.\nIt is everything you decide it is. \n  \nEufemia\, Giorgia Lolli – ph. The two young performers of the La Ribalta – Kunst der Vielfalt company\, Jason De Majo and Michael Untertrifaller\, bring to the stage a spectrum of brutal and at the same time tender sensations\, capable of creating an infinite range of expressive coloring. \nTwo perfomances: \nSaturday\, February 11\, 5:30 p.m.\nSunday\, February 12\, 5:30 p.m. \n\n  \nCREDITS\nText by Gianluigi Gherzi\, Remo Rostagno\, Antonio Viganò\nDirected by Antonio Viganò\nChoreography by Julie Anne Stanzak (Tanztheater Wuppertal)\nProduction direction Paola Guerra\nWith Michael Untertrifaller and Jason De Majo \nInspired by the 1993 show ALI\, a co-production Le Grand Bleu and Teatro La Ribalta \n(PremioETIstregagatto 1995). \nA production Teatro La Ribalta-Kunst der Vielfalt – Lebenshilfe Südtirol \nA tribute to Joseph Scicluna\nCONCEPT\nAli is the story of an encounter between an ordinary young man\, somewhat disillusioned and pessimistic\, and an individual with two red wounds on his shoulders\, a fallen angel who is willing to suffer and love as all human beings do. The creature\, descended from heaven through a light pole\, asks\, questions\, wants to understand the why of everything. It is as curious and naive as a child. \nA web of mutual questioning\, curiosity\, and conflict is established between the two\, causing the angel to discover feelings and sensations he has never experienced before. \nThe angel and the man meet\, clash\, struggle\, recognize each other\, grapple and brush against each other in a dance of life until death. Uncovering memories buried under piles of stones\, the angel lays bare man’s life\, his sorrows and joys. \nWhy do you touch where it hurts? Man asks. \n \nThe struggle between the two becomes as hard as a game. A cruel and poetic game in which man discovers his uniqueness\, his being a unique and unrepeatable “story\,” while the angel will have to choose between being everything and nothing or a precise\, earthly identity by giving up his divine dimension. \nI have no stories \nIt is not possible. Everyone has one! Everybody! \nNo\, I don’t have stories…no\, no. I have one. Just one. This one. (Opens a suitcase of feathers). \nAnd this is your story? \nIt is my story: sky\, air\, flying…. \nI would like to be like you: one suitcase\, light. I would like to be like you. \nWe have illustrious masters to guide us: Rilke with his “Elegie Duinesi”\, Peter Handke and Wim Wenders with “Heaven Above Berlin”\, Wallace Stevens’ “The Necessary Angel”\, James Stephens’ “Semidei”\, and Walter Benjamin’s “Angelus Novus”. \n \nTEATRO LA RIBALTA\nTeatro La Ribalta – Kunst der Vielfalt is a community of dancers and actors-versus-actors who want to develop their own legitimate strangeness. Live performance workers who are extraordinary solely and uniquely in their way of being on stage and for the professionalism they have chosen to practice. \nDaily\, doggedly\, they work to seek and unveil ” beauty ” and try to give it back\, to those who meet them\, through poetry and the art of theater. Men and women who like the idea that the boundary between reality and fiction is penetrable\, that fantasies and desires can become material\, that work subjects and practices become opportunities to live and dream\, that a person in difficulty can become the protagonist of his or her own life\, when he or she crosses boundaries\, changes the everyday\, navigates unexplored waters\, reconstructs identities. They bring to the theater a mystery\, a personal poetics\, the shadows and wounds that nourish art and life. They are aware that only through quality artistic practice and a deep work ethic can they defeat prejudices\, change paradigms\, make people think and move. That is why their theater is a political act. \nThe company\, founded in Bolzano in 2011\, has a repertoire of shows (The Sound of Falling\, Characters\, Nobody Knows About Us\, The Dance\, H+G\, Wings\, Superable\, Othello Circus\, A Peep Show for Cinderella\, Paradise Lost) that are touring Italy and Europe and contributing a new look and artistic depth to social art theater. \nWinner of the 2015 and 2018 Eolo Award for the shows “H+G” and “Superabile” as the best new productions of the year in the childhood and youth theater sector; the 2015 Critic’s Award promoted by the National Association of Theater Critics as well as the 2018 UBU Special Award “for the quality of artistic\, creative and political research in often marginal areas and with capillary attention to diversity ” and Hystrio Award – Other Muses 2021 “for making theater practice an instrument of social inclusion at 360 degrees.”\nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, members CRAL Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at  www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nTicket service in Fonderia is active from 4:30 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nCell and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:MEMENTO
DESCRIPTION:Memento – Cornelia Dance Company – ph. Sabrina Cirillo \nMemento is a dance piece that is based on the non-event. Just as in the Beckettian masterpiece\, Waiting for Godot\, the tension is created by the succession of hopes that find no concrete outlet\, so likewise\, in life\, every moment is waiting for something definitive that then\, when we think we have obtained it\, we always discover to be fragmented and subjective. \nWithin the choreography\, the performers experience this waiting and\, in their search for a definitive answer\, divine or otherwise\, to their existential condition\, they seek solace from each other\, challenge each other\, or\, like a chorus\, all tend toward the same point.\nIn the end\, the very goal of their journey will be realized in the remembrance (memento means\, precisely\, “remembered”) of these relationships and the sensations they have felt\, making it a ritual moment\, a sacred\, and therefore eternal\, act. \n\nCREDITS \nChoreography Nyko Piscopo\nMusic Arvo Pärt\nCostumes Rosario Martone\nDramaturgy Ciro Ciancio\nSet Design Paola Castrignanò\nLights Camilla Piccioni \nDancers Nicolas Grimaldi Capitello\, Eleonora Greco\, Leopoldo Guadagno\, Francesco Russo \nTechnical Manager Giuseppe Ferrigno\nManagement Vittorio Stasi\nVideo Andrea De Simone\nPhotos Sabrina Cirillo \nProduction Cornelia\nSupport Caleidoscopio\, Teatro Eduardo de Filippo \nIn collaboration with: AMAT MARCHE\, Compagnia Zappalà Danza – SCENARIO PUBBLICO. \nCONCEPT \nInnovative\, out-of-the-box and label-free\, “Memento” is a celebration of the self in all its forms and rests its foundation on gender equality. Performers are asked to renounce the inherent characteristics associated with their gender or stereotypes about it. The gaze becomes fixed\, facial expressions limited\, however\, they are also given the opportunity to express\, in a fluid manner and according to stage sensibility\, the emotionality perceived at that particular moment. Nothing has to start from an idea\, but from an internal impulse: in this way the body does not drag behind a stereotyped gesturality\, and the choreographic dynamics are built free of all patterns\, so that the man can be lifted up by the woman\, if the inner need of the couple on stage requires it\, reversing (or following) the canons without preconceived barriers. \n\nThe succession of tension and apparent calm involves every aspect of the staging. The lights rest on the performers like spots that suddenly appear and\, just as suddenly\, vanish\, conveying the anxiety and agony felt by the play’s protagonists. The atmosphere of unease tends to be amplified by an eternal return to choreographic stillness\, stillness that is\, however\, constantly challenged\, not only by the progression of light and darkness\, but also by the scenographic dynamics that\, by evoking those places that seem suspended between the earthly and the otherworldly like the monolithic complex of Stonehenge\, increases the sense of uncertainty and inner disequilibrium. The musical score also contributes to this effect of constant suspension and restart. While\, through moments of lightness and irony\, the anguish seems to be successfully concealed\, Arvo Pärt’s music reinforces the emotionality\, denying both dancers and spectators to remain indifferent to the feelings that transpire from the work. \nCORNELIA\nCornelia is a dance company founded in 2019 in Naples by Nyko Piscopo\, Nicolas Grimaldi Capitello\, Eleonora Greco\, Leopoldo Guadagno and Francesco Russo. \nKey word of Cornelia‘s artistic manifesto is INNOVATION\, which manifests itself both by carrying out projects where different languages coexist and through the reinterpretation in a modern key of some classics of dance and literature. Consequently\, the themes addressed by the company are those of contemporaneity. They include\, in fact\, the “instances” of the new generations\, such as the battles for self-determination of one’s body and for the affirmation of one’s sexuality\, but also investigating the new possibilities of connection given by the social revolution. \nIn addition to the founders\, Cornelia relies on numerous external collaborators who share the same philosophy as the group. The ‘company’s activity is widespread both in Italy and abroad: artistic productions are presented in various Italian theaters (Teatro delle Muse in Ancona\, Teatro Bellini in Naples\, Teatro Comunale in Vicenza\, Teatro Carignano in Turin) and participate in the most important dance and video dance festivals\, both national (Venice Biennale 2020\, Campania Teatro Festival 2021 and many others) and international (Filmpride in Brighton\, Choreoscope in Barcelona)\, as well as projects streamed in New York\, London\, Belgrade\, Sweden\, Iran. \nActive not only in dance at the production level\, the company is also involved in collaborating in the organization of national events such as MOVI|MENTALE and Cilentart Fest and in training with free initiatives for local dancers such as Wake Up! Training. \nIt has achieved an important recognition from the Ministry of Culture\, being included in the list of dance companies funded by the FUS. \nhttps://www.corneliaperformingarts.com/ \nINFO & TICKETS \nTICKETS\nFull price: 10 euro\nReduced under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, members CRAL Municipality of Reggio Emilia: 6 euro\nReduced under 8: 3 euro \nPURCHASING TICKETS \nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it. \nTicket service in Fonderia is active from 7:30 pm. \nTickets are not numbered. \nCONTACTS \nCell and whatsapp 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it
