SUMMARY:White Pages
DESCRIPTION:White Pages by Manfredi Perego opens the 2026 season of Danza in Fonderia.\n \nSaturday\, January 17\, 2026 – 6:00 PM: Open rehearsal \nSunday\, January 18\, 2026 – 6:00 PM: Performance \nFonderia – Via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nManfredi Perego presents an intimate triptych of solos—three tableaux that are at once three personal dedications and three starting points for future choreographic investigations. \nEstemporanea\, danced by Manfredi Perego\, is a research project shaped by the desires and curiosities of the author’s poetics—such as silence\, speech\, the body\, and dynamics. Estemporanea seeks to release the generative potential of the present moment\, making improvisation its primary language. \nDedica al tempo is not a journey into memory\, but a liberation of the body\, of experience\, of the will to remain on the threshold. Time\, conceived as a space for creative urgency rather than haste\, is explored through the body of Lucia Nicolussi\, the artist’s seventy-year-old mother. \nWith Dedica al silenzio\, Manfredi Perego composes for dancer Chiara Montalbani a melody made of sharp and nuanced frequencies. Silence is sought as a creative struggle that makes room for generative madness\, giving it form and order. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nCREDITS \nEstemporanea \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nchoreography: Manfredi Peregoperformer: Manfredi Peregoproduction: Tir danza MP.ideograms \n\nDedica al tempo \nchoreography: Manfredi Peregoperformer: Lucia Nicolussiproduction: Tir danza MP.ideogramsco-production: MILANoLTRE Festival \n\nDedica al silenzio \nchoreography: Manfredi Peregoperformer: Chiara Montalbaniproduction: Tir danza MP.ideogramsco-production: MILANoLTRE Festival \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nManfredi Perego \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHe graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and continued his dance training while simultaneously beginning his professional career as a freelance dancer in Switzerland and Germany. \nIn 2014\, he founded MP.ideograms\, and the following year he made his debut at the Equilibrio Festival and at the Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore in Ravenna. \nIn 2016\, he took part in the “VITA NOVA” project of the Venice Biennale with the first chapter of the project Primitiva\, which continued in 2017 at Scenario Pubblico in Catania. DESCRIPTION:Agora Coaching Project – foto Nicola Stasi \n\n \nOn December 6\, the young talents of Agora Coaching Project perform for Danza in Fonderia in Reggio Emilia.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDouble performance on Saturday\, December 6: \n6:00 PM8:30 PM \nThe protagonists of the evening are the dancers of Agora Coaching Project\, an advanced training program promoted and supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company and A.S.D. Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia\, under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. \nFounded in 2010\, the program is gaining wide recognition within the European dance community and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nMOVETOPIA\nCoreography by Massimo Gerardi\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography: Massimo GerardiMusic: Jan Satler\, Franz Liszt (performed by Mikhail Pletnev)Performers: Agora Coaching Project \nDuration: 20 minutes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLike many utopias set on islands or within isolated communities\, MOVETOPIA expresses the desire to distance oneself from the complex and often problematic reality of the world. This can be interpreted as a metaphor for the attempt to create ideal conditions in which people can live in harmony\, free from the interference and conflicts that arise in larger societies. \nMOVETOPIA represents a journey toward a new society and a distant place. The different “stations” are characterized by specific moods\, conveyed both through the modus operandi of the dance and through the musical context. These two elements influence one another and strive to reach a state of harmony.Within this dynamic interaction between dance and music\, a creative narrative unfolds\, guiding the audience through a path of emotional discovery. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nDI TANTI ROMEI\, DI TANTE GIULIETTE\nCoreography by Michele Merola\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography: Michele MerolaMusic: Apparat\, S. ProkofievLive music and vocals: Natalia AbbasciàLighting: Gessica GerminiPerformers: Agora Coaching Project \nDuration: 40 minutes \nDi tanti Romei e di tante Giuliette celebrates youth and its ability to be absolute in everything — in love and friendship — pure and untamable\, with passions lived without defenses\, powerful dreams that are total and temporarily eternal. The young dancers involved in the performance embody and reveal this passion and\, through an intertwining of paths\, stories\, and bodies\, they tell us about themselves but also about us as spectators. \nOur task is to guide these young people through a tragic\, powerful\, endless story that still today speaks of passion and freedom. A story told for centuries in theatre and cinema\, rewritten\, interpreted\, and adapted countless times — yet\, in every version\, it never loses its timeless beauty. \nSpeaking of love in the era of virtual communication\, of fast consumption of everything — in an age where a simple text message could start or end a relationship — means restoring dignity and strength to Love. Today\, much is said about violence\, hatred\, betrayal\, and love that turns violent and often kills\, but far less is said about the poetry of love\, its delicacy made of gestures\, tenderness\, glances\, and words. \nEqually relevant today is the generational clash: the world of young people\, made not only of love but also of hatred\, violence\, friendship\, joy\, and celebration\, and the adult world\, driven by greed and prejudice — a world the young inherit\, continuing it like Tybalt\, or breaking it like Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare’s young characters are youths who suffer: Juliet suffers from not being heard by parents unable to show her love; Benvolio suffers in his loneliness\, taking refuge in friendship; and a multitude of young people wander the city\, fighting against a world that has no space for them. Written centuries ago\, these young people do not seem far from those of today. \nThe choreography created by Michele Merola for the young dancers of the training project thus gives shape to a powerful message: love\, take part\, lose yourselves\, fight\, and defend your beauty. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAGORA COACHING PROJECT \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAGORA COACHING PROJECT is a one-year advanced dance training program for dancers aged 18 to 22\, based in Reggio Emilia. Founded in 2010\, it is directed by Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli\, and is promoted and supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company and the Centro Permanente Danza of Reggio Emilia. \nIts aim is to train artists who are ready to face\, with flexibility\, the wide-ranging demands of the international dance market — artists capable of responding to the diverse technical and stylistic requirements that this very market presents. \nThe project offers a broad spectrum of stimuli — technical\, cultural\, and based on exchange — between students and choreographers\, each coming from and working within some of the most interesting contexts of the international dance scene. Agora brings young dancers into contact with renowned choreographers of different stylistic orientations and\, over the years\, has welcomed many distinguished names. \nAlongside Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli\, numerous teachers contribute to the program\, each with proven and highly qualified experience in the field. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nMASSIMO GERARDI \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMassimo Gerardi is a dancer\, choreographer\, and pedagogue known for integrating contemporary dance with classical technique\, shaping a choreographic style marked by emotional depth and interdisciplinary openness. Since 2024\, he has been Director of Dance at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Görlitz-Zittau\, where he oversees artistic and organizational direction and creates contemporary productions\, often in collaboration with international artists. \nHe trained initially in Udine and Reggio Emilia\, later earning a Master of Arts in Dance Pedagogy from the Palucca Dance University of Dresden. He danced in prestigious companies and theaters\, including Balletto Comunale di Firenze\, Teatro La Fenice\, ATERballetto\, Staatstheater Nürnberg\, Ballett Dortmund\, Stadttheater Augsburg\, and Landestheater Linz\, developing a personal synthesis of classical technique and contemporary language. \nAlongside his performance career\, he undertook an extensive path as a choreographer\, presenting works in numerous theaters in Germany and abroad (Theater Kiel\, Staatstheater Oldenburg\, Theater Vorpommern\, Stadttheater Gießen\, Theater Aachen\, Landesbühnen Sachsen\, Odeon Theatre Bucharest) and participating in international festivals and projects such as the Lucerne Music Festival\, Palucca Hochschule Dresden\, National Conservatory of Prague\, and the Agorá Coaching Project. \nAs a teacher\, he has taught at institutions including the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln\, Palucca Hochschule Dresden\, Korean National University of Arts\, Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy\, and SEAD Salzburg\, in addition to leading workshops at various European schools and universities. \nHe has received numerous choreographic awards (Hannover\, Düsseldorf\, Treviso\, Florence\, Kölner Tanztheaterpreis 2008 and 2011) and important scholarships (Kunststiftung NRW\, DAAD\, ICR/American Dance Festival)\, enabling research periods with companies such as GöteborgsOperan\, Iceland Dance Company\, and Nederlands Dans Theater. \nAlso active on the independent scene\, his works have been supported by several cultural institutions and presented at international festivals including Bolzano Danza\, Schrittmacher Festival Aachen\, eXplore Festival Bucharest\, Scenario Pubblico Catania\, SAT Barcelona\, Zawirowania Warsaw\, and the Journées Choréographiques de Carthage. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nMICHELE MEROLA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMichele Merola is the artistic director of the MM Contemporary Dance Company\, the contemporary dance ensemble he founded in 1999 in Reggio Emilia. SUMMARY:HEI AI!
DESCRIPTION:On December 4\, the Sanpapié company performs with artificial intelligence for Danza in Fonderia in Reggio Emilia.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThrough words\, dance\, and metatheatrical interruptions\, an ironic and poetic narrative takes shape — suspended between present and future — inviting the audience to reflect on environment\, technology\, identity\, and relationships. A performance that blends spoken theatre\, dance\, physical action\, and philosophical inquiry to speak to young people in a direct\, profound\, and provocative way. \n“HEI AI!”\, written in collaboration with AI\, was born as a dance-theatre piece\, but is first and foremost a thinking device. \nA performance dedicated to middle and high school students. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nCREDITS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Sanpapié productionWith the support of MiC – TOCC Notice for the Ecological Transition of Cultural and Creative Organizations – Action B2In collaboration with Achab Group and Fabvision srl \nText: Saverio Bari and AIDirection and choreography: Lara GuidettiSoftware design: Fabvision srlCostumes: Maria Barbara De MarcoPop-up creation: Isadora BucciarelliSound design: Marcello GoriLight design: Marcello MarchiWith Francesca Lastella and Giacomo Stallone \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRead more \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDorian lands on Earth after a journey through space. He doesn’t remember exactly how long he has been away\, but it feels as if not much time has passed — perhaps a year. He recalls leaving on a mission to seek solutions to the environmental disaster unfolding on the planet\, which is making life on Earth increasingly difficult. But these memories are blurry… Are they really his? Was he truly on a mission? Who is he\, really? \nHe lands together with Ai\, the artificial intelligence that travelled with him\, and which helps him understand what is happening to him — and above all\, what has happened to the planet\, now inhospitable and\, it seems\, uninhabited. But suddenly he encounters Corpo\, apparently the only human being who survived the catastrophe — a being who has regressed to a primordial\, pre-historic state… \nCorpo does not speak. He communicates\, yes — but only through the language of the body\, through dance\, a language almost unintelligible to Dorian\, who is used to interacting only with Ai. Perhaps he has been away far longer than he thinks… or perhaps he has only just been “born\,” and has never before seen a real human being in flesh and blood. It is Ai\, through a dialogue of questions and answers\, who explains to Dorian what it means to be “human\,” what those expressions\, reactions\, and physical impulses of the creature before him signify — a creature he struggles to recognize as similar to himself. \nThrough direct experience — through being in the presence of Corpo — Dorian will finally discover the truth about his own nature:that he is\, in fact\, an artificial being. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCompagnia Sanpapié \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFounded in 2008 and directed by Lara Guidetti\, Sanpapié is an artistic entity distinguished by the radical nature of its choreographic research and by a transdisciplinary approach that escapes any stylistic classification. The company investigates the body as a poetic and political device\, a meeting ground for the languages and imaginaries of the present. The organic intertwining of dramaturgy and movement generates works that transcend conventional formats\, engaging non-traditional spaces and diverse audiences. \nWith more than fifty productions and an international presence spanning Europe\, Asia\, and the Middle East\, Sanpapié has built a recognizable artistic vision in continuous transformation. \nIn 2025\, from the merger between Sanpapié and C&C Company\, SPaCCa is born — an acronym combining the two identities — a project of co-artistic direction led by Lara Guidetti and Carlo Massari. The result of an alliance between two mature and complementary artistic voices\, SPaCCa establishes itself on the international scene as an outpost for choreographic research and a center for interdisciplinary creation. \nA creative dialogue aimed at redefining — together — the territories of the contemporary. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInfo & TICKETS \nTICKETS \n \nFull price: €3 \n \nTICKET PURCHASE \n \nOnline: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspxFonderia Box Office: opens one hour before the performance(Via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia) \n \nTickets are unreserved. \n \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \n \n📞 Cell & WhatsApp: 334 1023554✉️ Email: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Viaggio nel repertorio del balletto (A journey through the ballet repertoire). Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
DESCRIPTION:Viaggio nel repertorio del balletto (A journey through the ballet repertoire)\, curated and presented by Francesca Pedroni\, dance journalist and critic\, with the dancers of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.\n  \nNutcracker: between reality and magic\, the timeless Christmas ballet \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCurated by Francesca Pedroni \nWith Étoile Alessio Rezza\, Primi Ballerini Marianna Suriano and Claudio Cocino\, and Soloist Flavia Stocchi\, Ballet Company of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma \nGuest: Paul Chalmer\, international choreographer \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn the world of classical-academic ballet\, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without The Nutcracker. Alongside The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake\, it completes the triad of masterpieces composed in late 19th-century Russia by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The Nutcracker premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1892\, with a libretto by the first maître of the Imperial Theatres\, Marius Petipa\, and choreography by Lev Ivanov. A Christmas Eve filled with wonders — from the battle between toy soldiers and mice to the Waltz of the Snowflakes\, the Sugar Plum Fairy’s variation with its crystalline celesta sound\, and the transformation of the Nutcracker toy into a Prince who leads the young heroine on magical adventures. \nThe Ballet Company of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma\, directed by Eleonora Abbagnato\, will bring it to the stage this December at the Teatro Costanzi in the version by Paul Chalmer — the focus of the November edition of Viaggio nel repertorio del balletto (A journey through the ballet repertoire)\, curated by Francesca Pedroni for the Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto. \nA performance-conversation blending readings\, stories\, and video clips\, featuring the invaluable participation of Étoile Alessio Rezza\, Primi Ballerini Marianna Suriano and Claudio Cocino\, and Soloist Flavia Stocchi from the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma\, who will dance some of the ballet’s most iconic excerpts — along with Paul Chalmer himself. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nALESSIO REZZA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBorn in Modugno (Bari)\, Alessio Rezza graduated from the La Scala Ballet School in 2008. After performing with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino\, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo\, and the Paris Opéra Ballet\, he joined the Ballet Company of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in 2010. Under the direction of Eleonora Abbagnato\, he was promoted to Soloist\, later named Principal Dancer (The Nutcracker)\, and in May 2022\, appointed Étoile (Le Corsaire). \nThroughout his career\, he has danced leading roles from both the classical and contemporary repertoire\, including Basilio in Don Quixote\, Albrecht in Giselle\, Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty\, James in La Sylphide\, The Prince in The Nutcracker\, Solor and the Golden Idol in La Bayadère\, Frédéri in L’Arlésienne\, Colas in La Fille mal gardée\, Franz in Coppélia\, and Lensky in Onegin. \nHe has also performed in works by William Forsythe\, Jiří Kylián\, Rudolf Nureyev\, Angelin Preljocaj\, Roland Petit\, Jerome Robbins\, Frederick Ashton\, Mauro Bigonzetti\, Uwe Scholz\, Johan Inger\, Maurice Béjart\, José Limón\, Benjamin Millepied\, Christopher Wheeldon\, David Dawson\, Paul Chalmer\, and Jiří Bubeníček\, working with world-renowned ballet masters such as Mikhail Baryshnikov\, Julio Bocca\, Patricia Ruanne\, Laurent Hilaire\, José Martinez\, and Sylvie Guillem. \nIn 2023\, he was invited to dance at the Dubai Opera in A Thousand Tales by Francesco Ventriglia\, and also performed in the “Les Étoiles” galas (2023 and 2024) and “Il cigno nero”\, produced by Daniele Cipriani Entertainment. In 2024\, he portrayed Prince Siegfried in the Rai5 televised recording of Swan Lake\, choreographed by Benjamin Pech. \nAmong the many awards he has received are the Premio Positano\, Danza&Danza\, Roma in Danza\, Anita Bucchi\, Roma è Arte\, and Europa in Danza. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nFLAVIA STOCCHI \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBorn in Rome\, Flavia Stocchi trained at the Opera di Roma Ballet School\, performing in productions directed by Carla Fracci\, including La Gitana (Chalmer)\, The Nutcracker with Fracci\, and Michelangelo with Mario Marozzi. She has won several international competitions and awards such as Aurel Millos\, Anita Bucchi\, and Guido Lauri (Best Emerging Performer)\, as well as a scholarship to the Royal Ballet School in London (2010). \nAfter graduating with top honors\, she performed alongside Alessio Carbone and Giuseppe Picone in Daniele Cipriani’s galas\, and in 2013 she joined the Ballet Company of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma\, then directed by Van Hoecke. She has also danced with MaggioDanza (La Sylphide by Bournonville; The Four Temperaments by Balanchine) and at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo (The Nutcracker and Carmen by Amodio\, for which she received the Premio Capri for Best Emerging Talent 2014). \nAt the Opera di Roma\, she has performed in Carmina Burana (Van Hoecke)\, The River (Ailey)\, and The Nutcracker (Amodio). SUMMARY:Il mare che ci unisce
DESCRIPTION:For the first time at Danza in Fonderia\, the company ArtgarageDanceCo\, led by Emma Cianchi\, takes part.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIl mare che ci unisce is an emotional experience that invites the audience\, through an abstract structure\, to reflect on their roots and on the power of human connection that transcends time and space. With a clear reference to the mythological women of ancient Italy and Greece\, four dancers — with their powerful and mysterious presence — explore the connections between their bodies\, expressing a sensory\, visual\, and sonic journey between the real and the immaterial. \nMythological creatures whose legacy continues to inspire\, reminding us that — in ancient stories as in modern life — the role of women is fundamental and intrinsically linked to growth and transformation\, equality and peace. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nCREDITS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChoreography: Emma CianchiOriginal Music: Lino CannavacciuoloCostumes: Leandro FabbriSet Design: Alessandro Sodano \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRead more \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA journey suspended between myth and reality\, where the prophetic figure of the Cumaean Sibyl becomes a symbol of wisdom and ancestral connection. \nThe choreography draws inspiration from her prophetic power and mystical bond with the sea\, transforming the stage into a ritual of memory and oracles. The figure of the Sibyl\, embodied in dance by the performers — guardian of prophecies — becomes a bridge between past and present. \nThe Sibyls\, brought to life through the dancers’ strength and the evocative music\, guide the audience through the voices of generations and migrations\, evoking stories and identities interwoven across the Mediterranean. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtgarageDanceCo \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtGarage is a dance production organization active since 2003 on both national and international stages\, recognized by the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Campania Region. The company has always supported and collaborated with artists from diverse backgrounds who explore the languages of contemporary dance and new audiovisual and multimedia technologies. \nArtGarage’s work is grounded in the cross-pollination of different expressive forms\, in a constant search for new creative possibilities to give life to live performances\, sound installations\, and visual environments. \nThe core ensemble of ArtgarageDanceCo is led by Emma Cianchi\, Italian choreographer and artistic director\, and includes a multidisciplinary team composed of a permanent group of dancers\, videomaker Gilles Dubroca\, and sound designer Dario Casillo. \nThe organization also curates and promotes HumanBodies — a professional training program for contemporary dancers\, recognized by the Campania Region — and Immagi]Na FilmFestival\, an event dedicated to videodance\, supported by the Campania Region Film Commission. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInfo & Tickets \nTICKETS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFull price: €10Reduced price: under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, members of CRAL Comune di Reggio EmiliaReduced price (€3): under 8 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKETS PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\nFonderia Box Office: The box office opens one hour before the performance at Via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeats are unreserved. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCONTACTS \nMobile e whatsapp +393341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Author’s Evening
DESCRIPTION:Opus Ballet Company presents the world premiere of its new “Choreographers’ Evening\,” featuring works by Roberto Tedesco\, Adriano Bolognino\, and Giovanni Insaudo. \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe evening is born from the encounter of three choreographers — Adriano Bolognino\, Giovanni Insaudo\, and Roberto Tedesco — all winners of the Danza&Danza Award. The idea is to bring their creations together in a single program\, offering the audience a mosaic of visions that\, though distinct in style\, engage in a dialogue of intensity and coherence. \nPiano-Forte by Roberto Tedesco\, set to Chopin’s Nocturnes\, explores the tension of opposites — presence and absence\, strength and fragility\, fall and elevation — revealing how every polarity exists through its counterpart\, until it is recomposed into a profound unity. \nBehind You by Adriano Bolognino is an intense\, dramatic work that evokes winter as an existential condition: a journey through hardship and fear that reshapes our inner boundaries\, leading us toward poetic resistance and the possibility of renewal. \nThe evening concludes with Vespri by Giovanni Insaudo\, where Sicilian folklore becomes a field of reflection on the tension between tradition and modernity — a bridge between past and present that transforms collective ritual into contemporary gesture. \nThree choreographers\, three visions\, three languages intertwining roots and modernity\, light and shadow\, fragility and strength. A journey that turns movement into a mirror of life\, offering the audience the energy of a dance that unites the individual and collective poetic experience. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nCredits \nPIANO-FORTE\n \nChoreography: Roberto TedescoLighting and Space Design: Davide CavandoliCostumes: Santi RinciariTechnical Direction: Laura De BernardisPerformers: Matheus Alves De Oliveira\, Ginevra GioliBallet Master: Giusi Santagati \nBEHIND YOU (excerpt from White Room)\n \nChoreography: Adriano BologninoAssistant Choreographer: Rosaria Di MaroWith the support of Rosa CoppolaLighting Design: Laura De BernardisCostumes: Santi RinciariPerformers: Gaia Mondini\, Frederic ZounglaBallet Master: Giusi Santagati \n \nWith the support of the Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza Virgilio Sieni and the Fondazione CR Firenze (Bando Abitante) \nVESPRI\n \nConcept and Choreography: Giovanni InsaudoAssistant Choreographer: Sandra SaliettiLighting Design: Giovanni InsaudoTechnical Direction: Laura De BernardisSet Elements: Margherita CitranCostume Production: Lisa PerinPerformers: Matheus Alves De Oliveira\, Ginevra Gioli\, Gaia Mondini\, Frederic Zoungla\, Rebeca ZucchegniBallet Master: Giusi Santagati \nCOB | Compagnia Opus Ballet \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDirected by Rosanna Brocanello since its founding\, the company is composed of a stable ensemble of professional dancers and has developed an extensive repertoire of productions over the years. \nAmong its most recent works: \n\n\nLe Quattro Stagioni (2020) by Vivaldi\, choreographed by Aurélie Mounier\, with live music performed by the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto; \n\n\nRIGHT. SUMMARY:Duo d'Eden | Grosse Fugue
DESCRIPTION:Maguy Marin’s dance arrives at Fonderia through the interpretation of the MM Contemporary Dance Company.\n  \nDirected by Michela Merola\, the company presents for Danza in Fonderia two masterpieces by the multi-award-winning French choreographer Maguy Marin: Duo d’Eden\, a duet of rare\, almost mythical beauty\, and the all-female quartet Grosse Fugue\, Marin’s personal interpretation of Ludwig van Beethoven’s work\, considered a milestone in the relationship between classical music and contemporary dance. After the performance\, a short talk with a dance critic is scheduled. \n  \nThe MM Contemporary Dance Company won the 2024 Danza&Danza Award for Repertoire Enhancement with Maguy Marin’s Grosse Fugue. \nhttps://vimeo.com/480791125/2e8682f7fb \n\n\n  \n  \nDuo d'Eden \n\nChoreography and Soundtrack: Maguy MarinRestaged by: Cathy Polo and Ennio SammarcoCostumes: Montserrat CasanovaLighting: Alexandre BéneteaudRehearsal Director: Enrico MorelliPerformers: Mario Genovese\, Fabiana Lonardo \nDuration: 18 minutes \nProduction: MM Contemporary Dance CompanyCo-production: Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia \nWorld Premiere – Compagnie Maguy Marin: December 12\, 1986 – AngersFirst Performance with MM Contemporary Dance Company: October 21\, 2020 – Teatro Sociale di Trento \n\n \n“Two bodies\, as if naked\, advance on stage\, entwining with one another and never letting go. A man and a woman\, their bodies drawn together and clinging\, joined until they become inseparable. She\, a vine that wraps and coils. He\, who holds her\, restrains her\, supports her. There is something mythical in their dance\, in this total fusion of two beings who become one\, never to part again. \n  \nEden is original love\, love of the time of innocence. There is also something raw and primitive in this duet. The soundscape of waterfalls and storms accompanies the dance. \n  \nEden is a dance full of strength and beauty\, perhaps because of the natural force that emanates from the purity of movement and the precision of gesture\, from the almost sculptural forms\, from the power of the bodies. That is where the emotion arises—from this simplicity that reveals the essential. If love is a dance\, it is surely Eden.” \n  \nYasmine Tigoe \n \nIn Duo d’Eden\, two dancers of MMCDC perform with mastery and style a work of rare beauty—original\, complex\, and demanding—created in 1986 by Maguy Marin for her company. Simply a man and a woman: flesh-colored unitards highlighting their nudity\, a long wig for her\, entwined with each other throughout the piece as she continuously evolves across his body. An Adam and Eve immersed in a journey of sensuality\, eros\, defense\, and attack\, within a world that is anything but calm\, safe\, and idyllic. A poetic and intense work. \nGrosse Fugue \nChoreography: Maguy MarinRestaged by: Dorothée DelabieMusic: Ludwig van Beethoven\, Die Grosse Fuge\, Op. 133Costumes: Chantal CloupetLighting: François RenardRehearsal Director: Enrico MorelliPerformers: Fabiana Lonardo\, Giorgia Raffetto\, Alice Ruspaggiari\, Diletta Savini \n  \nDuration: 20 minutes \n  \nProduction: MM Contemporary Dance CompanyCo-production: Reggio Parma Festival\, Festival Bolzano Danza / Fondazione Haydn di Bolzano e Trento\, MilanOltre Festival \n  \nWorld Premiere – Compagnie Maguy Marin: 2001 – Espace Jean Poperen\, MeyzieuNational Preview with MM Contemporary Dance Company: December 16\, 2023 – Reggio Parma Festival – Teatro Ariosto\, Reggio EmiliaNational Premiere with MM Contemporary Dance Company: July 16\, 2024 – Festival Bolzano Danza \n \nFour women and an extraordinary musical work such as Die Grosse Fuge: Maguy Marin’s personal reading of Ludwig van Beethoven’s masterpiece—considered a milestone in the relationship between classical music and contemporary dance—is built on a constant\, intimate dialogue between dance and music\, on a profound connection between the two arts. \n  \nCreated in 2001 for the C.ie Maguy Marin\, it is revived here in the interpretation of four dancers from the MM Contemporary Dance Company. From the encounter between these four women and the music emerges a complexity between the growing vital force of the feminine and the state of exhilaration and despair of this score. \n  \nThe dance becomes an euphoric explosion of energy\, where the four performers\, dressed in red\, in an almost frenetic alternation\, leap\, run\, collapse\, and rise again in a whirlwind of life and frenzy. A metaphor of life that turns into a vortex\, an exhilarating race against death\, where the very vertigo of the end drives us to run breathlessly\, to live every moment as if it were the last. A powerful\, moving work\, a moment of pure emotion. \n  \nMM Contemporary Dance Company \nThe MM Contemporary Dance Company is a contemporary dance ensemble directed by choreographer Michele Merola. Founded in 1999\, it was conceived both as a production center for events and performances and as a promoter of festivals and workshops\, with the aim of fostering exchanges and collaborations between Italian and international artists as witnesses and spokespeople of contemporary culture. \n \nBased in Reggio Emilia\, the company’s repertoire is rich and diverse\, thanks to the works of Michele Merola and creations by leading European and Italian choreographers such as Maguy Marin\, Mats Ek\, Mauro Bigonzetti\, Thomas Noone\, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano\, Karl Alfred Schreiner\, Silvia Gribaudi\, Eugenio Scigliano\, Emanuele Soavi\, Enrico Morelli\, Daniele Ninarello\, Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi\, Roberto Tedesco\, Camilla Monga\, and Adriano Bolognino. \n \nIn 2010\, MM Contemporary Dance Company won the prestigious Danza&Danza Award as Best Emerging Company and has since become a recognized excellence of Italian dance\, with an established presence across the national stage. In recent years\, it has also gained international acclaim\, performing in both European and non-European countries (Korea\, Colombia\, Canada\, Germany\, Russia\, Morocco\, Belgium\, Spain\, Slovenia\, Hungary\, Czech Republic\, Sweden\, France\, Finland\, Serbia\, Norway\, Croatia). \n \nIn 2017\, the company won the Europaindanza Award for Choreographic Merit with Michele Merola’s Bolero. In 2022\, MMCDC received the Danza&Danza Award for Best Italian Production with Ballade (choreography by Mauro Bigonzetti and Enrico Morelli). In 2024\, it was awarded the Danza&Danza Prize for Repertoire Enhancement for Maguy Marin’s Grosse Fugue. \n \nIn 2021\, 2022\, and 2024\, MMCDC appeared on RAI 1 in Roberto Bolle’s TV programs Danza con me and Viva la danza\, performing works by Mauro Bigonzetti and Lorca Massine. For the 2018–2020 and 2022–2024 triennia\, as well as in 2021\, the company was an associate ensemble of the InDanza Circuit of Trentino-Alto Adige. \n \nMM Contemporary Dance Company is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture\, the Emilia-Romagna Region\, the Municipality of Reggio Emilia\, and the Centro Permanente Danza Danza / Reggio Emilia. \nMaguy Marin \nMaguy Marin was born in Toulouse in 1951. After her dance studies\, in 1972 she joined Mudra\, the school and choreographic residence created by Maurice Béjart in Brussels\, where she took part in the formation of the group Chandra\, which gathered the school’s talents under the direction of Micha van Hoecke. From 1974 to 1977 she was a full member of Les Ballets du XXe Siècle\, directed by Béjart\, where she not only performed repertoire works and new creations\, but also choreographed Yu-Ku-Ri (1976). \n \nIn 1984\, she founded the Compagnie Maguy Marin. After residencies at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Créteil\, the Centre Chorégraphique National de Rillieux-la-Pape (Lyon)\, and later in Toulouse\, in 2015 the company settled in Ramdam\, in the Lyon region\, a space dedicated to artistic creation\, to develop an ambitious project: Ramdam\, a center for the arts. \n \nMaguy Marin is one of the leading figures of the “new French dance” and has created many works that have become renowned\, including Babel Babel (1976)\, Cendrillon (1985)\, Coups d’État (1988)\, Made in France (1992)\, Aujourd’hui peut-être (1996)\, Quoi qu’il en soit (1999)\, Pièces détachées (2002)\, Umwelt (2004)\, Turba (2007)\, Salves (2010). Yet it is May B (1981)\, inspired by the literary world of Samuel Beckett\, that remains a true masterpiece\, still performed today in France and worldwide. \n \nIn addition to creating all the works for her own company\, she has also choreographed for major companies such as Dutch National Ballet\, Nederlands Dans Theater 3\, Paris Opera\, and Lyon Opera Ballet. \n \nAlongside numerous honors received in her home country—including being named Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters in 1998—she is among the few non-Americans to have been awarded the American Dance Festival Award (2003) and\, in 2008\, the Bessie Award in New York for Umwelt. In 2016\, she received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale Danza. \n \nOverall\, Maguy Marin’s creative production could be gathered under the title “the human condition”: from May B to her most recent works\, she has brought to life characters that reveal the grotesque soul\, intrinsically tied to the essence of humanity. The result is powerful\, ironic\, and at times fierce. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \n \nFull price: €10Reduced: €6 (under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL members of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia)Reduced: €3 (under 8) \n \nTICKET PURCHASE \n \nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspxFonderia Box Office: opens one hour before the performance (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia). \n \nTickets are unreserved (general admission). \n \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \n \nPhone & WhatsApp: +39 334 1023554Email: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Preludio / An Echo\, A Wave / Solo Echo
DESCRIPTION:https://youtu.be/0WgBEKxzPxY \nFor the Dance Week\, Aterballetto performs from November 7 to 9 at its home venue\, La Fonderia.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile half of the company is on tour in South Africa\, the remaining eight dancers of Aterballetto offer the Reggio Emilia audience three evenings of performance\, dancing on the stage of La Fonderia (via della Costituzione 39) with the following programme: \nPreludio by Diego Tortelli\, built around some of the most intense poems and songs by Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave\, explores love\, faith\, dependence\, obsession\, loss\, and the intricate ways these themes intertwine. \nAn Echo\, A Wave by Philippe Kratz\, officially premiering during Dance Week\, translates the sense of wonder and eternity evoked by the sight of the sea: the dancers’ flowing movements recall the natural\, unending motion of the waves\, while also reflecting the passage through shifting emotional states. \nFinally\, Solo Echo by Crystal Pite is inspired by two sonatas for cello and piano by Johannes Brahms and by the poem Lines for Winter by Mark Strand\, invoking winter\, music\, and the moving body to express something essential about acceptance and loss. \nThe evening opens with a new MicroDanza piece created by Antonella Bertoni especially for the CCN/Aterballetto. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nAPERITIF IN FONDERIA\nFrom 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.\, enjoy a tasting of local wines and products\, in collaboration with the Mercato Campagna Amica del Tricolore. \n \n  \nFND/Aterballetto – Preludio – ph. DESCRIPTION:  \nMaurizio Cattelan Bidibidobidiboo 1996 photo Zeno Zotti copia (Palazzo Grassi\, Venezia) \nFor Dance Week\, three works by Maurizio Cattelan are the focus of the new edition of Visioni del corpo — discovering contemporary art through signature dance.\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNicolas Ballario\, listed among the 100 most influential figures in the art world by Il Giornale dell’Arte\, guides the audience through the story and poetics of Maurizio Cattelan\, one of the most renowned and controversial Italian contemporary artists on the international scene. \nAt the heart of the evening are three of Cattelan’s works — irreverent and provocative pieces that challenge both art and society through sharp irony and powerful visual impact. \nChoreographer Lara Guidetti\, together with CCN/Aterballetto dancers Alessia Giacomelli and Kiran Gezels\, gives body and movement to Cattelan’s visions\, transforming the irony\, paradox\, and unspoken essence of his works into physical gesture. \nOn the occasion of Dance Week\, Visioni del Corpo: Maurizio Cattelan will have three performances at La Fonderia\, via della Costituzione 39: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday\, November 9 at 6:00 p.m.\nMonday\, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. – for upper secondary schools\nMonday\, November 10 at 8:30 p.m.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nHAPPY HOUR AT LA FONDERIA \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.\, enjoy a tasting of local wines and products\, in collaboration with the Mercato Campagna Amica del Tricolore. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nMaurizio Cattelan\, Him\, 2001\, ph Tom Lindboe (Blenheim) A \n  \n\nLara Guidetti \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn 2006\, Lara Guidetti graduated as a dancer and choreographer from the Dance-Theatre Atelier of the Paolo Grassi School in Milan\, where she trained with major national and international masters. She continued her education in dance and performing arts\, studying various pedagogical and training methods through workshops and productions. \nIn 2008\, she founded the Sanpapié Company\, where she serves as artistic director\, choreographer\, director\, and performer\, presenting works throughout Italy\, Europe\, China\, and Saudi Arabia. In 2017\, her production LEI won the Premio Bonacina. \nShe collaborates with the JGM Company in Lisbon\, with La Scala in Milan as a dancer and acrobat\, and creates choreography for opera productions. She has taught at the Paolo Grassi School and DanceHaus in Milan\, as well as at the Teatro Stabile di Torino school. \nSince 2022\, she has been an associate artist of the MilanOltre Festival and a collaborator of the CCN/Aterballetto\, working as a choreographer and curator of site-specific and cultural welfare projects. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNicolas Ballario \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBorn in 1984\, Nicolas Ballario works in the field of contemporary art applied to media. After completing his studies at the Academy of Photography\, he joined Oliviero Toscani’s creative factory La Sterpaia\, where he later became Cultural Director. He has collaborated with major artistic institutions and numerous publications\, and in 2016 became the youngest recipient ever of the Premio Bassani\, one of Italy’s most prestigious awards for journalists distinguished in cultural and environmental reporting. \nHe is currently the author and host of contemporary art programmes on Radio Uno Rai and a contributor to L’Espresso (where he writes a weekly column)\, Living / Corriere della Sera\, Il Post\, and Il Giornale dell’Arte. In 2019\, he hosted Camera Oscura\, a photography series on LA7\, and since 2020 has been presenting Io ti vedo\, tu mi senti?\, Italia Contemporanea\, and The Square on Sky Arte. \nHe is also the director of the new exhibition production company Piuma\, and founder and president of Cucù\, a communication studio dedicated to culture. Ballario curates exhibitions and catalogues\, and was included twice in Artribune’s “Best of” list of leading figures in the art world — in 2019 for radio and in 2020 for television projects. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInfo & Tickets \nTICKETS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSingle ticket: €3 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKET PURCHASE\nTickets can be purchased online at www.biglietteriafonderia39.it.The box office at La Fonderia opens at 7:30 p.m.Seats are unassigned. \nCONTACTSMobile e whatsapp +39 3341023554Email biglietteria@aterballetto.it \nFONDERIA ATERBALLETTOvia della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda
DESCRIPTION:Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda opens the Dance Week of the CCN/Aterballetto.\nFonderia – Thursday\, November 6 at 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe theme of love overwhelmed by war and death — inspired by the story of Tancredi and Clorinda from Torquato Tasso’s Gerusalemme Liberata (whose first draft celebrates its 450th anniversary in 2025) and set to music by Claudio Monteverdi (1624) — retains a striking contemporary relevance. The CCN/Aterballetto reinterprets this legacy through dance\, its privileged language for conveying the intensity and drama of the work\, in a performance conceived by Fabio Cherstich and Philippe Kratz\, featuring dancers Alessia Giacomelli and Kiran Gezels\, tenor Raffaele Giordani\, and harpsichordist Francesco Luigi Trivisano. \nThe performance is preceded and followed by contributions from Antonio Audino\, theatre critic and journalist for RadioRai3\, who\, with his signature clarity\, will cast a contemporary light on these “sacred texts” of Italian cultural heritage. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 11:00 a.m. performance is dedicated to upper secondary school students. \nAPERITIF AT LA FONDERIA\nFrom 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.\, enjoy a tasting of local wines and products\, in collaboration with the Mercato Campagna Amica del Tricolore. \n \nhttps://youtu.be/mjZQdcn1fgc \nCREDITS \nDirection and visual: Fabio CherstichChoreography and stage movement: Philippe KratzMusic: Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Claudio MonteverdiDancers: Alessia Giacomelli\, Kiran GezelsSinger: Raffaele GiordaniHarpsichord: Francesco Luigi Trivisano \nCo-production: Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto\, Teatro Regio di Parma / Festival Verdi\, Torinodanza Festival – Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale\, Ghislierimusica – Centro di Musica Antica \n\nBorn in September 2024\, Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda is a project aimed at enhancing live performing arts within museums and cultural sites\, promoted by the Direzione Generale Musei and co-funded by the Direzione Generale Spettacolo. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor its realization\, the Musei Nazionali di Perugia – Direzione Regionale Musei Nazionali Umbria — and in particular the Museo Archeologico Nazionale e Teatro Romano di Spoleto — established\, with the support of the Direzione Generale Musei\, a partnership shared with five other major cultural venues: Villa Pisani in Stra\, Castello e Parco di Racconigi\, Castello Svevo in Bari\, Certosa di San Martino in Naples\, and the Parco Archeologico di Venosa. Later\, Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome joined the initiative\, hosting it as part of the 2024 summer festival Sotto l’angelo di Castello. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n  \nThe project is part of Italia Danza\, a co-designed initiative by the Direzione Generale per la Diplomazia Pubblica e Culturale del MAECI and the CCN/Aterballetto\, aimed at promoting Italy’s artistic heritage abroad. \nBODIES AS MIRRORS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn my vision of Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda\, I imagine a confined\, circular space where proximity and the resemblance of bodies play a fundamental role. Together with choreographer Philippe Kratz\, we explore the idea of bodies as mirrors\, telling the story of a humanity at war with itself. Eros and Thanatos emerge as equally powerful forces\, creating a paradoxical atmosphere within this perfectly balanced struggle between human beings. In our interpretation\, Tancredi and Clorinda are contemporary warriors\, bound to one another inextricably\, compelled to fight and to relive a story already written. \nA single voice gives life to three characters — the text itself\, Tancredi\, and Clorinda — merging within the body and sound of one singer. This estranged voice\, bound to a circular path\, evokes a sense of constant repetition\, underscoring the endless cycle of this story of love and death — a story destined\, tragically\, to repeat itself through the centuries and reach us still\, carrying all its force as an emanation of Tasso’s poetic power and Monteverdi’s sublime music. \nFabio Cherstich\, Director \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nINNER STRUGGLE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn Tasso’s tale\, set to music by Claudio Monteverdi\, the most obvious themes are the struggle between woman and man and religious conversion — yet these are also the aspects I find least compelling. Transposed into dance\, they would risk becoming a mere narrative of circumstances. \nA more philosophical or psychoanalytic reading of this struggle — from which both protagonists emerge defeated\, deceived\, and alone — feels far more engaging to me. Within the opposition of the two roles lies an entire world: the seeking\, confronting\, and wounding of one another. The dynamic is that of a ritual\, a warlike confrontation between two entities drawing closer. The absurdity of the act is revealed when one of them loses their life\, and we realize that the other has not won either… a powerful\, shared wound that remains imprinted on both bodies. So\, are these two people fighting each other — or a single person fighting against themselves? \nPhilippe Kratz\, Choreographer \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInfo & Biglietti \nTICKETS \n3 euro \nTICKET PURCHASE \n\nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspx\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFONDERIA BOX OFFICE: the box office opens one hour before the start of the performance (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeats are unassigned. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \nMobile e whatsapp +39 3341023554 \nEmail biglietteria@aterballetto.it \n\n  \n

SUMMARY:Sogni (di una notte di mezza estate)
DESCRIPTION:The Natiscalzi DT Company debuts at Danza in Fonderia with its contemporary reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAmid metamorphic bodies\, desire\, magic\, and fate\, dance becomes a language to explore Shakespeare’s timeless themes\, supported by Giuseppe Cordaro’s soundscape that weaves together electronic textures and fragments of Mendelssohn. A poetic and visionary journey that renews the dialogue with the classics\, revealing the ever-living power of their enchantment. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCREDITS \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nby Natiscalzi DTchoreography by Tommaso Monza and Claudia Rossi Valliwith Marco Bissoli\, Julia Canard\, Chiara Esposito\, Elena Grappi\, Federico Russo\, Maxime Schiavonoriginal music by Giuseppe Cordaro / Mendelssohntexts by Claudia Rossi Valli / William Shakespeare \nproduced by cinqueminuti APSwith the support of MIC – Italian Ministry of Culture and Regione Emilia-Romagna – Performing Arts Departmentspecial thanks to Vignale in Danza\, Festival Teatro nel Bicchiere\, and Teatro Sociale di Gualtieri \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRead more \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn a forest that belongs to no time\, suspended in a limbo between dream and reality\, six dancers move in search of answers\, like pawns in a cosmic game seemingly governed by chance. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nThe performance is a contemporary reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s classic A Midsummer Night’s Dream\, where body and dance become the means to explore universal themes such as love and desire\, as well as magic and transformation — alongside the play of misunderstandings and the unpredictable hand of fate.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe six performers are fluid\, multifaceted\, and metamorphic figures who move between the roles of lovers\, woodland creatures\, and dreamlike alter egos\, challenging the conventions of identity and reality. The figure of Puck — guide of the dream world and symbol of chance — emerges through choral compositions that reclaim unpredictability as a space of possibility and transformation\, and the dream as both escape and refuge\, an ephemeral tool of assertion and rebellion. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe visionary power of the dream is supported — as a well-established stylistic hallmark of the company — by the scenographic design and the soundscape specially created by composer Giuseppe Cordaro\, who combines electronic sonorities with fragments of Mendelssohn’s work. This interplay between classical and contemporary elements permeates the entire performance\, echoing the intricate web of Shakespearean relationships. \nOnce again\, Natiscalzi DT takes on the challenge of reinterpreting the classics\, as previously seen in The Nutcracker and Annotations for a Faust. This time\, the company breathes new life into Shakespeare’s timeless poetry\, guided by the deep conviction that the great works must be revisited with fresh eyes\, generation after generation — to connect authors\, performers\, and audiences in a journey of rediscovery of art itself\, reminding us that magic (in theatre and beyond) has not vanished: it is merely hidden\, waiting to be awakened. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n  \nCOMPAGNIA NATISCALZI DT \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNatiscalzi DT was founded through the collaboration between Tommaso Monza and Claudia Rossi Valli — dancers and choreographers united by a shared language that intertwines poetry\, irony\, and a keen gaze on life. Established in 2016\, the company represents a creative laboratory in constant evolution: blending dance\, theatre\, and performance art\, Natiscalzi DT explores universal themes through a poetic vision that is both profound and\, at times\, dreamlike. \nA prominent presence in the national dance-theatre and contemporary dance scene\, Natiscalzi DT has created works such as Mary’s Bath (Critics’ Award – Palio Poetico ErmoColle 2015\, Special Mention – Premio Sonia Bonacina 2016\, Finalist – Direction Under 30\, 7th edition 2020\, Honorable Mention – Teatro Festival Valtellina 2021); The Nutcracker (Winner – Lavanderia a Vapore Choreographic Residencies Call 2016 | Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo\, selected by CID Cantieri OrienteOccidente 2017); DIVINO (Winner – Toscana Terra Accogliente 2022); Dreaming Costa Rica (supported in distribution by MIC / SIAE “Per Chi Crea” 2024); and COSA HAI IN TESTA? SUMMARY:Ti vedo. La leggenda del Basilisco
DESCRIPTION:What if a fairy tale were told by an enormous dress of fabric?\n \nTi vedo. La leggenda del Basilisco \n \nby Teatro del Buratto is an immersive and poetic performance designed for children\, weaving together theatre\, myth\, and magic. Among witches\, spells\, and the dreaded King of Serpents\, children will be carried on an exciting journey where fear and courage meet. A little hero and a fearsome basilisk teach us that sometimes it is enough to look beyond appearances to discover that every creature holds the possibility of change. \n \nRecommended age: from 4 years \n \nCREDITS \nA project by: Emanuela Dall’AglioWith: Emanuela Dall’Aglio\, Riccardo PaltenghiDirection: Emanuela Dall’AglioSoundscapes and Lighting: Mirto BalianiConstructions: Emanuela Dall’Aglio\, Michele Columna\, Riccardo Paltenghi\, Caterina BertaAssistant Director: Beatrice Masala \n \nA co-production by: Teatro del Buratto\, CSS Teatro Stabile di Innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia \n \nRecommended age: from 4 yearsDuration: 50 minutes \nDiscover more \n\n“I see you\, all the creatures that men call monsters.\nMonstrous creatures? Monstrous?… Who are they\, really? They are those who cannot be saved\, who are of a form unsuited to this world. But what if\, for once\, they were the heroes—clumsy\, reckless\, involuntary saviors of themselves?”\nN. Haynes \n\n \nA dress-story that tells a myth.A great skirt that contains within itself all the elements of this tale. A mountain of red fabric in which a narrator recounts the story of a witch and her basilisk. \n \nHumankind has always needed to create and to fight monsters that embody evil and the flaws of the world\, and this performance begins with the act of creation—the magical rite that gives birth to a basilisk. \n \nBut now we must face the King of Serpents\, a creature unsuited to life among men\, with supernatural powers\, sowing terror\, and with a single gaze turning living beings into stone. Through the centuries\, countless legends have cast him as a terrible and deadly figure. Drawing on some of these\, our story begins with the arrival of the Basilisk in a peaceful village. His power breeds fear and dismay; the villagers\, not knowing how to banish him and powerless against his magic\, lock themselves in their homes in fear. \n \nBut is this creature truly a monster\, or is it simply unable to change its nature?Perhaps\, unaware of how to handle its power\, it is imprisoned by it.Only through the encounter and clash with a small\, unsuspecting hero—through his reckless courage and his gentleness—will the Basilisk be offered a way out: in this case\, a magical antidote\, a trick to ensure that no one dies—neither the monster nor the village. \n \nThrough knowledge\, courage\, encounter\, and even a touch of magic\, we find a new solution to an old legend. \nTeatro del Buratto \nFounded in 1975 in Milan\, Teatro del Buratto is a theatre production center that combines actor’s theatre\, puppet and animation theatre\, and black theatre\, with a strong focus on visual\, musical\, and scenographic research. Its productions\, aimed at children\, adolescents\, and adults\, range from reimagined classics to new dramaturgies\, often addressing contemporary social issues. \n \nActive both nationally and internationally\, Buratto is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Culture as a Theatre Production Centre and manages the Teatro Bruno Munari and Teatro Verdi in Milan. Beyond production\, it promotes residencies\, training\, workshops\, and festivals such as IF Festival and Segnali\, standing as a key reference point for visual and innovative theatre. \nInfo\, Tickets\, Workshop \nSATURDAY\, OCTOBER 18 – 4:30 pmFAMILY CONTACT \n \nWorkshop led by choreographer Laura Matano \n \nFamily Contact is a moment of sharing between children and parents\, exploring new worlds together. SUMMARY:Stuporosa
DESCRIPTION:Francesco Marilungo’s Stuporosa is a whirling dance in which tarantism\, “possession\,” and funeral lament hypnotize the audience.\n \nThe Ubu Award for Best Dance Performance 2024 comes to Fonderia. Francesco Marilungo draws inspiration from popular funeral rituals\, tarantism\, and the dance of Saint Vitus to create Stuporosa\, an extraordinary collective work for five performers exploring the universality of grief and its healing. \n\n  \n  \nCredits \nDirection and Choreography: Francesco MarilungoWith: Vera Di Lecce\, Martina Di Prato\, Barbara Novati\, Roberta Racis\, Francesca Linnea Ugolini\, Music and Vocal Coaching: Vera Di LecceSet and Lighting Design: Gianni StaropoliCostumes: Lessico FamiliarePhotography and Video: Luca Del Pia \n  \nProduction: Körper | National Dance Production CentreCo-production: Fabbrica EuropaWith the support of IntercettAzioni – Centro di Residenza Artistica della LombardiaWith the support of Short Theatre Festival\, Fuori Programma Festival\, Teatro Akropolis & Dracma Teatro – Progetto CURA\, Did Studio\, Base Milano\, Qenhun \nDiscover more \nThus\, apparently without reason\, the five performers of Stuporosa weep\, giving life to a cry that takes on many shades: at times restrained\, at times stifled\, at times becoming music\, then flowing into hope\, then transforming into song\, echoing the sounds of an ancient Salentinian funeral lament.\n \nTheir bodies fragment in search of archaic\, distant forms that vanish and dissolve instantly. These forms are figures of pathos\, archetypal images of human suffering handed down over centuries and civilizations—images drawn from ancient funeral rites but universal in meaning\, for since the dawn of humanity\, suffering has always been endured in the same way. The five performers attempt to reclaim a sense of collectivity\, of rituality\, to create new forms of mutual support—whispering ancient magical formulas\, evoking traditional dances\, singing a Salentinian lullaby. \n \nIn Stuporosa\, as in ritual weeping\, one witnesses a stylization of pathos\, a de-hystericization of grief; and the performance itself seeks to be an invitation to reflect on mourning\, on the human need for a shared cultural institution\, a communal rite\, to overcome moments of individual crisis. \n \nFrancesco Marilungo \nAfter studying Engineering and conducting research at the Von Karman Institute in Brussels\, Francesco Marilungo attended the Theatre-Dance Atelier at Paolo Grassi in Milan. Since 2010\, he has collaborated with internationally renowned choreographers such as Julie Anne Stanzak\, Masaki Iwana\, Yasmine Hugonnet\, Jan Fabre\, and Romeo Castellucci. Over the years\, he has performed for Enzo Cosimi\, Antonio Marras\, and Alessandro Sciarroni. He then began his own creative journey\, seeking a personal language between performance\, dance\, and visual arts. \n \nParadise\, winner of the NEXT 2015/2016 call in Lombardy\, was selected by Anticorpi XL for the 2016 Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore. Love Souvenir (2018) won the Inteatro Festival call and the NEXT 2017/2018 call in Lombardy. With Party Girl\, he received the Prospettiva Danza Award 2020 and the Cross Award 2020\, and was selected for the Nid Platform 2021. Stuporosa premiered at Short Theatre Rome in September 2023 and began an international tour. In 2024\, Stuporosa was presented at the Nid Platform in the programming section and won the 2024 UBU Award for Best Dance Performance. \n \nHis new project\, Cani Lunari\, winner of the Premio CollaborAction – Anticorpi XL Network\, will premiere in September 2025. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS \n \nFull price: €10Reduced: €6 (under 30\, dance schools\, Liceo Coreutico Matilde di Canossa\, over 65\, CRAL members of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia)Reduced: €3 (under 8) \n \nTICKET PURCHASE \n \nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspxFonderia Box Office: opens one hour before the performance (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia). \n \nTickets are unreserved (general admission). \n \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \n \nPhone & WhatsApp: +39 334 1023554Email: biglietteria@aterballetto.it

SUMMARY:Viaggio nel repertorio del balletto (Journey into Ballet Repertoire). Teatro San Carlo di Napoli
DESCRIPTION:Viaggio nel repertorio del balletto (Journey into Ballet Repertoire)\, curated and presented by dance journalist and critic Francesca Pedroni\, featuring the étoiles of Teatro San Carlo\, Naples.\n \nGiselle: Romanticism\, Pointe Shoes\, and the Ballet Blanc \nCurated by Francesca Pedroni \nWith Étoiles Anna Chiara Amirante and Alessandro Staiano\, Ballet Company of Teatro San Carlo\, Naples \nAn iconic title of Romanticism\, Giselle premiered in Paris in 1841 with choreography by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot and music by Charles Adam. It remains an essential work in the repertoire of every major classical ballet company. A love story unfolding between the radiant\, pastoral realism of the first act and the nocturnal forest realm of the Wilis — spirits of young women who died of heartbreak after being abandoned before their weddings. Diaphanous in their white tutus and pointe shoes\, they rise from midnight to dawn\, forcing any man who enters their haunted circle to dance to his death. \nThe Ballet Company of Teatro San Carlo\, directed by Clotilde Vayer\, will stage Giselle in Naples this November in Patricia Ruanne’s choreographic version. Around this title\, the Journey into Ballet Repertoire series curated by Francesca Pedroni for the National Choreographic Centre / Aterballetto resumes. This performance-conversation blends readings\, stories\, and video excerpts\, featuring the invaluable participation of Étoiles Anna Chiara Amirante and Alessandro Staiano of the Teatro San Carlo Ballet\, who will perform live some of the ballet’s most emblematic scenes in dialogue with the curator. \n \n  \nANNA CHIARA AMIRANTE \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBorn in Naples\, she trained at the Ballet School of the Teatro San Carlo. In 2006\, she joined the ballet company of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples under the direction of Elisabetta Terabust. SUMMARY:Cani lunari - open session
DESCRIPTION:Francesco Marilungo’s Cani lunari is the opening event of the autumn edition of Danza in Fonderia.\n  \nFrancesco Marilungo inaugurates Antologie. New Readings of the Body\, the Danza in Fonderia series\, with the open rehearsal of his latest work. Cani lunari reveals the first fragments of his new creation. Inspired by a rare lunar optical phenomenon and steeped in ancestral symbols\, the piece delves into the imagery of the witch\, the healer\, the sorceress: figures on the margins of society\, suspended between fear and desire\, science and magic\, exclusion and power. \nhttps://vimeo.com/1048362306 \nCredits \nChoreography and Direction: Francesco MarilungoWith: Vera Di Lecce\, Barbara Novati\, Roberta Racis\, Alice Raffaelli\, Francesca Linnea UgoliniCostumes: Lessico FamiliareMusic and Vocal Coaching: Vera Di LecceLighting Design: Gianni StaropoliPhotography and Video: Luca Del Pia \n \nProduction: Körper | National Dance Production CentreCo-production: SNAPORAZVEREIN\, IRA Institute \n \nWith the support of ResiDance – an initiative of the Anticorpi XL Network\,Tuscany Residency Centre (Fondazione Armunia Castiglioncello – CapoTrave/Kilowatt Sansepolcro)\,AMAT – Associazione Marchigiana per le Attività Teatrali\,Consorzio PUGLIA CULTURE – Regional Consortium for Arts and Culture\,in collaboration with Associazione Menhir / festival LE DANZATRICI en plein air in Ruvo di Puglia and Ass. Atmospheric phenomena that folk tradition once read as omens of storms\, but also as signals of transition—visual thresholds into the invisible. \nCANI LUNARI is a choreographic project that crosses these thresholds and immerses itself in an imaginary rooted in the archaic feminine\, in magical knowledge\, in ecstatic bodies. A sensitive inquiry into the figure of the witch\, the healer: not as folkloric residue or demonized stereotype\, but as the emblem of marginal yet powerful knowledge\, resisting the logic of utility and visibility.\n \nThrough a process of research combining archival materials\, oral testimonies\, folkloric iconographies\, and bodily practices\, CANI LUNARI builds a performative rite in which the body dances trance\, ecstasy\, metamorphosis. The performers\, holding taxidermy crows—souls released\, spirit animals\, threshold guides—enact gestures suspended between ritual and fiction\, magic and theatrical play. Movement feeds on fragmentations\, limps\, archaic gestures\, and sudden slips into animality\, evoking a world where the boundary between human and beyond-human is porous and mutable. The body moves “above water and above wind\,” echoing ancient formulas that still resonate in some Italian territories at the margins. \n \nAt the heart of the project lies a reflection on the hysterical body\, a feminine site of crisis and enigma\, historically linked to the figure of the witch and to states of possession. The 19th-century photographs of the Salpêtrière become symbolic material to embody: bodies out of control\, traversed by the invisible\, performing a different kind of knowledge. The witch’s body becomes a threshold-organism between dimensions—as John Cotta once wrote\, “not a traveler between worlds\, but the site of encounter between different spheres of being.” \n \nCANI LUNARI recalls a knowledge that is both political and sensorial\, an embodied epistemology. The soul—bird or breath—leaves the mouth\, flies\, detaches\, and then returns to the body. As in the confessions extorted from persecuted women—often visionaries\, storytellers\, healers—the body becomes narrative\, ritual of healing\, exercise in survival. The soundscape\, created by Vera Di Lecce\, interweaves electronics and natural sound\, oral chants and magical formulas\, in a score suspended between the earthly and the divine. \nCANI LUNARI is a crossing\, a white sabbath\, a collective ritual to re-enchant the world.\n \nFrancesco Marilungo \nAfter studying Engineering and conducting research at the Von Karman Institute in Brussels\, Francesco Marilungo attended the Theatre-Dance Atelier at Paolo Grassi in Milan. Since 2010\, he has worked with internationally renowned choreographers such as Julie Anne Stanzak\, Masaki Iwana\, Yasmine Hugonnet\, Jan Fabre\, and Romeo Castellucci. Over the years\, he has performed for Enzo Cosimi\, Antonio Marras\, and Alessandro Sciarroni. He then began his own artistic path\, seeking a personal language at the intersection of performance\, dance\, and visual arts. \n \nParadise\, winner of the NEXT 2015/2016 call in Lombardy\, was selected by Anticorpi XL for the 2016 Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore. Love Souvenir (2018) won the Inteatro Festival call and the Lombardy NEXT 2017/2018 call. \nInfo&Tickets \nTICKETS\nFull price: €3Free admission: under 6 \n \nTICKET PURCHASE \n \nONLINE: https://www.biglietteriafonderia39.it/home.aspxFonderia Box Office: opens one hour before the performance (via della Costituzione 39\, Reggio Emilia). \n \nTickets are unreserved (general admission). \n \nCONTACTS FOR RESERVATIONS \n \nPhone & WhatsApp: +39 334 1023554Email: biglietteria@aterballetto.it
