SUMMARY:BODY INTO THE FIGHT - MAKER FAIRE ROME
DESCRIPTION:  \nMaker Faire Rome è il più grande evento europeo per l’innovazione\, promosso e organizzato dalla Camera di Commercio di Roma. L’edizione di quest’anno si terrà dal 20 al 22 ottobre alla Fiera di Roma. In occasione dell’evento\, il CCN/Aterballettoe Sony CSL presenteranno il progetto Dis.abile | Iper.abile\, con la performance Body into the fight\, curata dal coreografo Diego Tortelli e nata dalla ricerca insieme a Sony CSL e al ricercatore Ken Endo. \nL’anteprima è prevista durante la Opening Conference di Maker Faire Rome il 19 ottobre dalle 17.30. \n\nBODY INTO THE FIGHT \nChoreography and Concept: Diego Tortelli\nScientific Consultancy: Ken Endo\nMusic: Oneohtrix Point Never\nPerformers: Giuseppe Morello and Karim Randé\nProduction: Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto\nIn partnership with: SONY CSL \nThanks to the research we will conduct with Ken Hendo and SONY CSL\, we will have the opportunity to delve into the idea of prosthetics as an extension of the body capable of making it hyper-able. An extension of the body that enhances physical performance and is no longer just a solution to resolve a physical trauma or conceal a disability. It is about extending the concept of ability in a poetic key that can come as close as possible to the definition of a “contemporary body”. Or at least to stimulate a reflection capable of entering the theater halls\, with a poetry serving the external world that brings the body back to surprise us. \nDiego Tortelli \n\nDis.abile | Iper.abile \nDis.able | Hyper.able arises from the desire of the two partners to support a welfare “focused not on resolving emergencies but on promoting the well-being and capabilities of individuals\, as an engine of development and employment and as a factor of social inclusion\,” according to the definition by urban planner Carolina Giaimo. \nSociety is transforming\, and healthcare is facing new demands. In this scenario\, innovation is a challenge. Assistive devices for disabilities\, as well as for daily life\, biomedical devices\, tech accessories\, and digital tools for sports: all this and much more will be presented at Maker Faire Rome 2023. \nTHE COLLABORATION WITH SONY CSL \nSony CSL aims to contribute to the future of humanity and the planet by promoting the development of sciences and new technologies and their application in various fields. In particular\, at the Rome laboratory\, led by Vittorio Loreto\, one research line aims to participate in the redesign of our societies with a transdisciplinary approach that uses creativity as a starting point to address the challenges of today’s society. Here’s a comment from Vittorio Loreto of Sony CSL: \n“It is precisely in this direction that the project Dis.able | Hyper.able is taking its first steps. One of our research lines has this very goal: to observe and experiment with the interaction between humans and new technologies (such as AI) and understand how both can benefit from this virtuous exchange\, where humans receive inputs from the machine that help them improve. When we learned about the artistic work of CCN/Aterballetto\, we immediately thought of the technology of Ken Endo\, which is why we are here today ready to present this new project at the most important innovation event in Europe.”
