DESCRIPTION:SOLO ECHO – Crystal Pite\nLove\, loss\, and acceptance lie at the heart of Solo Echo by Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite. Inspired by two cello and piano sonatas by Johannes Brahms and Mark Strand’s poem “Lines for Winter\,” Solo Echo evokes winter\, music\, and the moving body to express something essential about acceptance and loss. \n  \nRHAPSODY IN BLUE – Iratxe Ansa & Igor Bacovich\n«Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin holds many points of fascination for us. It is a magnificent piece of music—well-known yet not frequently listened to by younger generations. Introducing this work to a new audience is a valuable goal\, and this production offers a perspective on Gershwin that feels less distant and less “American\,” transcending the cultural context in which the rhapsody was created.
