An intense and personal tribute to Pina Bausch<\/span><\/span><\/strong> by Monica Casadei<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.
Inspired by the documentary Un secolo di danza<\/span><\/span><\/em> by Sonia Schoonejans<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, the performance weaves video imagery and original choreography into a dialogue between historical memory and contemporary language. Moving through the physical, dynamic vocabulary that has long defined the style of Compagnia Artemis Danza<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, the work unfolds as a continuous play of echoes, evocations, and counterpoints, delving into Pina\u2019s choreographic poetics and returning to the audience her visionary force and enduring ability to speak to us today.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Originally from Ferrara and graduating summa cum laude<\/em> with a thesis on Plato and dance, Monica Casadei<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, after a competitive career in rhythmic gymnastics, devoted herself to the study of classical and modern dance\u2014first in Italy, then in London, and finally in Paris. There she met choreographers Pierre Doussaint and Isabelle Doubouloz, as well as master Andr\u00e9 Cognard Hanshi So Shihan, with whom she still practices the martial art of Aikido.
She founded Compagnia Artemis Danza<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in France and moved with the company to Italy in 1997, launching an intense production activity that to date includes over forty original creations. From 1998 to 2007, the company was artist-in-residence at the Fondazione Teatro Due<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, while since 2014 it has held an artistic residency at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. Artemis Danza has been invited to perform in major Italian theatres and festivals, as well as on numerous international tours and festival circuits.<\/p>\n

Central to Monica Casadei\u2019s artistic research are cross-pollination with different artistic, cultural, and geographical contexts, alongside the exploration of sites and urban spaces that become stages for performative actions.<\/p>\n

Alongside its production activity, Artemis Danza supports, produces, and promotes emerging artists and carries out a wide range of audience development and educational initiatives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
