Gaia Mentoglio, born in Naples, Italy, in 1997, began her artistic journey at Art Garage in Pozzuoli. She continued her studies at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, where she earned her bachelor’s degree between 2014 and 2017, working with prominent figures such as Ohad Naharin and William Forsythe.

From 2017 to 2023, Gaia had a successful career as a soloist dancer with Ballett Theater Basel, under the direction of Richard Wherlock. During this time, she performed in numerous choreographies by Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Hofesh Shechter, Sharon Eyal, Marcos Morau, Andonis Foniadakis, Edward Clug, and Richard Wherlock, among others.

Since 2023, she has pursued a freelance dance career, working as a choreographic assistant for Richard Wherlock and taking part in various projects as a performer, collaborating with different choreographers on an international level.

In September 2025, she became a member of Aterballetto.
