Born in Switzerland in 1996, Estelle Bovay began her studies at the École de Danse Classique de Genève and later attended the Royal Ballet School from the age of 11, graduating from both White Lodge and the Upper School. In 2011, 2012, and 2013, she was a finalist at the Young British Dancer of the Year, and in 2014, she won the Royal Ballet School’s Lynn Seymour Award for Expressive Dancer.
During her studies, she had the opportunity to perform with the Royal Ballet in Sleeping Beauty by Petipa, The Nutcracker by Sir Peter Wright, Flight Pattern by Crystal Pite, Mayerling by Kenneth MacMillan, and The Dream by Frederick Ashton.
In 2015, during the Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Japan tour, she danced in Swan Lake by Anthony Dowell and Cinderella by David Bintley.
During the 2016/2017 season, she was part of the Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme. In the 2017/2018 season, she was a stagiaire at NDT2, where she performed in Cacti by Alexander Ekman.
In August 2018, she joined Aterballetto.
