DANCE YOUR TIME – SEASONAL PROGRAM
“DANCING THE PRESENT WITH AN EYE ON THE FUTURE”

Professional Area: Artistic Production and Performance

The program aims to provide participants with the technical tools necessary to deepen their understanding of the languages of movement and contemporary dance. This will be achieved through lessons, meetings, and field projects, bringing together and making available knowledge, skills, and artistic experiences to enrich reflection and enhance tools. The goal is to broaden and specialize the technical and attitudinal skills of young dancers entering the professional world.

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to adopt various styles of contemporary dance, adapting their creativity to the technique to manage non-theatrical spaces of expression, including unconventional or technology-mediated ones. They will be capable of engaging with productions involving small and large ensembles, with a specific focus on staging processes in relation to different venues and forms of audience.

The project, totaling 150 hours, is structured into 3 modules implemented through active and engaging methods.

Project Modules:
Module 1Composition and Techniques in Contemporary Dance – 50 hours
Module 2Repertoire and Choreography in Contemporary Dance – 50 hours
Module 3Performance and Individual Development – 50 hours.

Each training session is based on an experiential approach and includes lessons, meetings, and field projects, bringing together and making available knowledge, skills, and artistic experiences to enrich reflection and enhance participants’ skills.

Through action and reflection on action, the dancer’s learning ability is enhanced, as well as their ability to navigate and master the stage as a familiar space. Reflection also allows for the appreciation of already possessed knowledge and the ability to modify or integrate it with new techniques, enabling meaningful learning that leaves room for creative acts and the performer’s interpretive ability, enhancing their capacity to express themselves in non-traditional contexts. Experimentation and learning new creative processes, new dance languages, are made possible through the relationship with the teacher.

The instructors are internationally renowned dancers and choreographers capable of recognizing talent and contributing to the development of learning approaches functional to engaging, adopting dance styles and models suitable for the context. The constructive relationship activates proactive processes and pushes dancers towards greater mastery of their artistic act, increasing expressiveness and relational capacity.

Each meeting, therefore, involves a theoretical phase to learn dance techniques and a practical phase in which dancers can experiment with what they have learned and improve their performance through continuous feedback from the teacher. Each meeting includes activities to experiment with theoretical knowledge and simulation under the teacher’s supervision. In simulations, participants will experience different stylistic approaches, hypothetically operating in non-theatrical spaces and adapting to changing spatial dynamics.
