Where does the possibility of saying “no” reside today? What does it mean to “witness” in a world saturated with images of suffering? Are we witnesses or accomplices? And what does the ancient gesture of burying our dead ask of us? What social pact are we willing to break for an act of pure compassion? ANTIGONE resounds once more. It returns as sound (Mendelssohn and Cordaro). It returns as body (the ensemble of dancers). It returns as a question. In Natiscalzi‘s project, this return transforms the stage into a site of physical research on the crisis of dualism, into a territory of conflict but also into a contemporary rite capable of generating urgent questions. This year too, the company continues its research through a dialogue with the classics, starting from Sophocles’s Antigone and its most contemporary reworkings, to immerse itself in the questions of the present time.
