At the Fonderia, dancers in revolution: Marianna Basso goes back to the early 1900s.

In 1900 Frank Wedekind wrote a perfect tale, Mine Haha, about a dance school that is also a place of imprisonment. It was this dark fairy tale that inspired Dario Argento’s Suspiria. Luca Scarlini tells this dark fairy tale together with the revolution in dance brought about at the beginning of the 1900s by a series of extraordinary women dancers, between the United States and Europe. They often had no classical training, or they moved across other art forms. In this context, Marianna Basso does not reproduce famous choreographies, but revisits territories of the choreographic imagination that radically changed the twentieth century.
