Ordinary People

Frantics Dance Company at the Fonderia: dance between conflict and cooperation.

Wednesday 9 December 6.00 pm – open rehearsal

Thursday 10 December 8.30 pm – performance

Ordinary People explores the interplay between competition and collaboration in everyday life.

Through an engaging movement language, rivalry turns into a play of relationships, made of tensions, encounters and harmonies. The performers, autonomous yet deeply connected individuals, build together a dance in which conflict and cooperation intertwine in a spontaneous and fluid way.

Ordinary People is a celebration of humanity, bringing to light our shared challenges and the beauty held within life’s simplest and most ordinary moments.

Their work blends dynamic choreography, physical theatre, visual dramaturgy and lighting design to create productions that invite audiences to engage deeply with themes of identity and transformation.

Frantics has toured its performances in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Taiwan and beyond. Their productions have won awards at Burgos-New York, the Hannover Choreographic Competition, the Jerusalem International Choreography Competition and the RIDCC, among others.

They have created commissioned works for the Theater Osnabrück and Of Curious Nature (Bremen) and continue to develop new commissions for other venues. Since 2020 Katherina Vasiliadis has been part of Frantics as head of international relations and management, overseeing the company’s global partnerships and institutional collaborations.
