YELED / SECUS

Tuesday, March 26, Aterballetto is back touring in Germany, dancing at the Staatsoper in Hannover. The entire group of sixteen dancers will present Yeled and Secus, choreographed by Israelis Eyal Dadon and Ohad Naharin.

Yeled by Eyal Dadon

Yeled in Hebrew means child. Can we change ourselves as adults? Can we go back to being children?
“In the process of creation with the dancers, I reflected on the moment in our lives, as adults, when we lost the feeling of being children, the feeling of being naturally pure, and the ability to have clean filters. When was the moment we lost our innocence and why? One of the main keys to the creation is the real things we learned as children and how these things shaped us into the people we are today.” – Eyal Dadon

Secus by Ohad Naharin

Secus boasts a musical collage that ranges from the unusual electronic styles of AGF to the seductive Indian melodies of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, to the resonant harmonies of the Beach Boys. This adventurously eclectic mix serves as the suitable backdrop for a bold and extravagant choreography that unfolds before our incredulous eyes in a human alphabet made up of sprints, solos, crisp and clean gestures, interrupted duets. Through precise and sudden kicks, sinuous disarticulation of hips, torsos bending in all directions like molding clay, Secus expresses pure emotions and feelings without becoming sentimental.
