January and February in Fonderia
The Fonderia reopens its doors to the public for a new dance season with some of the most interesting companies of the moment.
January and February are dedicated to young authors and artists who are gaining more and more appreciation and recognition.
23 January
The 2022 season opens with Ara! Ara! by Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi, a duo successfully balancing dance, performance and visual arts that in 2019 won the Danza&Danza Award for Emerging Choreographers as well as the first edition of the Hermés Danza Triennale Milano Award.
What we see on stage is a representation of winner and vanquished, of roles reversal, of alliances and societies, of betrayals, of humiliations, but not only: it is above all an evocation of a violence far from senseless or wild, indeed political and very civilised, organised, rationalised, distilled and celebrated in art and figure by (and of) western power. (Carlo Lei // Krapp’s Last Post // 28.10.2021)
9 February
In February the first performance is by Equilibrio Dinamico Dance Company from Puglia, a company that boasts an eclectic repertoire created by internationally renowned artists. In Nubìvago, the artistic director Roberta Ferrara puts together three different titles, including creations for the company by Jiří Pokorný, dancer and choreographer of the Nederlands Dans Theater, by the award-winning couple Matthias Kass & Clément Bugnon, dancers who trained at the School of the Stuttgart Ballet, and by Ferrara herself.
The artistic production of Equilibrio Dinamico is thoughtful, harmonic and syncopated, it pleases the spectator very much and is stylistically identifiable in a spiral, peculiar and inspiring element for the artistic project of R. Ferrara and her colleagues. The choreographer’s work is guided by spirals recalling the energy of life and its events in an endless flow and a creative spin. These are artistic ideas from which various possibilities, both individual and collective, emerge. (Liliana Tangorra // Paneacquaculture.net // 13.01.2022)
12-13 February
Patchwork, un mosaico di storie by Cristina Cazzola and Carol Cassistat, written in collaboration with Lucio Diana is a performance for children aged 5 and over. An anthropologist and a woman meet in a place without space and time and lead children and adults to discover the importance of asking who we really are and where we come from.
The performance shows the meeting between two very different characters who, although they do not speak the same language, manage to understand each other and build an alternative language thanks to a series of objects that evoke stories. A common water bottle, capable of containing liquids, has given rise to nomadic life, enabling humans to move away from water sources, thus beginning the story of the great journey of humanity. (Cristina Cazzola e Carol Cassistat)
20 February
The Umbrian company, led by Afshin Varjavandi, performs ANTI\doti, a hip hop-street dance-contemporary dance production.
Six extraordinary dancers become the heroes of a historical phase, the present, that forced them to distance themselves from everything and everyone, pushing them to look within themselves, and find a way to live in a world poised between cliché and non-conformist desire.
Body. Gesture. Movement. Living body. Dancing body. A plunge into the present’s absolute contingency. Through the theme of love – for one’s own origins, for the Other and for their union – Afshin Varjavandi’s work is a place open to reflection and experimentation, an evolving territory that investigates the complexity of the human soul in a continuous alternation of physical and emotional tension, of carnal power and sensual poetry.

SATURDAY 12 FEBRUARY H 17.30
SUNDAY 13 FEBRUARY H 17.30
Patchwork, un mosaico di storie is a show for children that explores the theme of identity in our multicultural society today.
An amusing journey back through the genealogical branches and migrations that have built the history of mankind, to discover that our identity has always been a patchwork, made up of many different fragments resulting from millions of encounters and clashes.

ANTI\doti
SUNDAY 20 FEBRUARY H 20.30
6 very young dancers of the INC InNprogressCollective become the mirror of contemporary youth and, together with the choreographer, they explore and question themselves regarding ” faces” and “contents”, becoming the spokespeople of collective intelligence, or of a state of awareness, sometimes rare, through which they succeed in identifying reality and deception.
