Dance in contemporary society and culture
A new cultural institution, in any discipline, stimulates reflection on the missions and functions it will need to assume. And also on the role that it will play with respect to issues such as the cultural complexity of our country, the relationship between artistic and productive sectors, the optimisation of systems that contemporaneity would like to be more and more permeable.
The Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto takes its cue from the introduction of the National Choreographic Centres to start a series of Workshops. And it makes itself available to stimulate subsequent in-depth studies.
Dance in contemporary society and culture.
An appointment dedicated to the construction of an identity and a project for the National Choreographic Centres.

Curated by Gigi Cristoforetti (General and Artistic Director Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto)
Institutional Greeting by Azio Sezzi (President of Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto)

PLANNED SPEAKERS (to be followed by free or invited speakers)
A NEW GRAMMAR TO LINK CREATIVITY AND COMMUNICATION.
Nicolas Ballario deals with contemporary art applied to the media. He currently hosts “The Square” on Sky Arte (an award-winning programme dedicated to art and culture) and “Te la do io l’arte” on Radio Uno Rai. Curator and journalist for various newspapers and institutions. He will present us with a thought on how creative and communicative paths can find a dialogue and a synthesis capable of bringing both to a more effective expressive level and adequate to contemporaneity.
TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION AND NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR ARTISTIC PRODUCTION.
On the topic of technological innovation in the field of creation, Roberto Montanari, professor of Human-Machine Interaction and Interaction Design at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University in Naples, where he carries out research into the intertwining of the human sciences and new technologies, will participate. And he is the head of research and development at RE:Lab, the technological partner of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto. He will be talking about how technologies and artists can dialogue, creating new dimensions of creativity.
CULTURE AND THE PERFORMING ARTS IN THE FACE OF THE URBAN AND SOCIAL CHALLENGES OF THE CONTEMPORARY CITY.
Vittorio Salmoni will talk about the active and conscious participation of culture and the performing arts in the search for identity and the redevelopment of urban, monumental or abandoned areas. Architect, urban planner, lecturer, expert in Strategic Territorial Planning and Urban Regeneration, he is the coordinator of the network of Italian UNESCO Creative Cities.
CULTURAL WELFARE FOR THE HARMONIOUS AND CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIETY AND ECONOMY.
Felice Scalvini, a national reference point for legislation and the development of the Third Sector, is president of the Fondazione ASM and director of the Fondazione Ravasi Garzanti in Milan (which deals mainly with issues related to ageing). He proposes a reflection on the virtuous integration of social, cultural, economic and artistic issues, with particular reference to Cultural Welfare.
BETWEEN VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS: OVERLAPPING IN THE SIGN OF PUBLIC SPACE.
Angela Vettese offers her view of the dimension of art in the increasingly complex and connected universe of the various disciplines, among which dance is increasingly included.
