From Rome to Naples: Aterballetto’s March tour

After its North American tour and its participation in the Closing Ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, Aterballetto spends the entire month of March performing in Italy—with two additional stops on the French Riviera—bringing to the stage some of the most significant creations from its repertoire.

Roma and Brescia

The tour opens on Monday 2 March in Rome, where Aterballetto returns as a guest of the ORBITA | Spellbound Dance Season 2026 at Teatro Ambra Jovinelli. On stage is Rhapsody in Blue by Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, a work for sixteen dancers set to George Gershwin’s famous score. First presented in 2024 in a site-specific version at the Baths of Caracalla, the choreography now arrives in the capital in its theatre version. The evening is completed by Holy Shift by Mauro Astolfi, performed by Spellbound Contemporary Ballet.

This year again, Aterballetto is part of the theatre season at the Teatro Sociale di Brescia from 4 to 6 March with Dreamers, a programme spanning the signatures of Diego Tortelli, Philippe Kratz, Angelin Preljocaj, and Crystal Pite. Four choreographic visions unfold in sequence: from Tortelli’s Preludio set to music by Nick Cave, to Kratz’s “O”, to Preljocaj’s re-reading of the Apocalypse in Reconciliatio to Ludwig van Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, concluding with Pite’s celebrated creation Solo Echo, inspired by the sonatas of Johannes Brahms.

Catania and Palermo: 8 performances in Sicily

From 7 to 15 March, Aterballetto is in Sicily. The tour opens in Catania on 7 and 8 March, where the company presents at Scenario Pubblico / Compagnia Zappalà Danza a programme intertwining Preludio by Diego Tortelli with two works by Philippe Kratz, An Echo, A Wave and Alpha Grace.

From the east, the company then moves west to Palermo, returning after many years: from 10 to 15 March, Teatro Biondo hosts six performances of Notte Morricone by Marcos Morau, a poetic tribute to Ennio Morricone.

French Riviera and Napoli

From Sicily, the journey continues to the Côte d’Azur: in Martigues (18 March) and Toulon (20–21 March), Aterballetto presents the triple bill that won over North American audiences, featuring works by Iratxe Ansa & Igor Bacovich, Crystal Pite, and Diego Tortelli: Rhapsody in Blue, Solo Echo, and Glory Hall.

The March tour concludes at Teatro Bellini in Naples, where from 26 to 29 March the company performs a programme pairing the depth of Pite’s Solo Echo, the pas de deux Reconciliatio by Angelin Preljocaj, and Tortelli’s Glory Hall.
