Danza ai Chiostri
From 5 to 17 July, the magnificent complex of the Cloisters of San Pietro in Reggio Emilia will host Danza ai Chiostri, an event organised by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and the Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia as part of Restate 2022, the summer programme of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia.

There are seven appointments in the review. Scheduled in the Chiostro grande of the Chiostri di San Pietro are: starting on 5 July, the performance Gershwin Suite by Michele Merola – Schubert Frames by Enrico Morelli with the MM Contemporary Dance Company; the performances Shoot me by Diego Tortelli, “O” by Philippe Kratz and Secus by Ohad Naharin with the Aterballetto company (10 and 11 July); the performance Human behaviour with Greek National Opera Ballet (12 July). The Chiostro piccolo instead hosts Divino_Prima Apparizione by the Compagnia Natiscalzi Dt (5 July), Divino_Seconda Apparizione by the Compagnia Natiscalzi Dt (10 July), Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Carlo Massari with the C&C Company (11 July) and Equal To Men by Roberta Ferrara with Equilibrio Dinamico Dance Company (12 July).
On 15, 16 and 17 July An Ideal City/ MicroDanze is scheduled, a co-production by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and the Palazzo Magnani Foundation with dancers from the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and the Greek National Opera Ballet. It will be a dance exhibition in the magnificent complex of the Chiostri di San Pietro in which 15 choreographers – both Italian and international – have conceived short pieces to be danced in a circumscribed space, to be watched in succession as if one were visiting a museum. A project that escapes the dynamics of the stage, the distance that separates the spectator from the performer, creating a continuum between the onlooker and the watched. An emotional and aesthetic experience as varied as it is original.
