The Chiostri di San Pietro are the most extraordinary monumental complex in Reggio Emilia, one of the most striking of the Italian Renaissance, with a shape that bears the recognisable hand of Giulio Romano.
The Chiostri di San Pietro are the evocative setting of DANZA AI CHIOSTRI, a summer event curated by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto and the Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia as part of the Restate summer programme of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia.

The protagonists of Made in Italy 39.0 are the dancers of Agora Coaching Project, an advanced training programme promoted and supported by the MM Contemporary Dance Company and by the A.S.D Progetto Danza of Reggio Emilia, under the artistic direction of Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli. Launched in 2010, the course is gaining full recognition in the European dance world and boasts collaborations with internationally renowned teachers and choreographers.
For the new evening of Made in Italy, Agora Coaching Project will bring to the Fonderia stage choreographies by Mauro Bigonzetti and Roberto Tedesco.

CCN/Aterballetto presents a true concert in dance. Preludio by Diego Tortelli is a profane prayer inspired by the writing of Nick Cave: five dancers become emotional stimuli, embodying obsessions, addictions and desires in a hymn to the body and its continuous transformation. In An echo, a wave by Philippe Kratz, the flowing movement of the two dancers recalls the motion of the sea. Reconciliatio is a delicate female pas de deux by Angelin Preljocaj set to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. Solo Echo by Crystal Pite, through Brahms’s sonatas for cello and piano, invokes winter to express something essential about acceptance and loss.

Beyond Time and Space / La Réunion racconta Nikolais eludes precise classification and presents itself as a kind of happening — part performance, part lecture, part show.
Inspired by the tradition of the American masters and their work based on guided and personalised improvisations, the project stems from the sharing of materials and working practices, activated in real time and accompanied, when necessary, by repertoire videos and previously unseen materials.
The performance, led and guided by journalist Donatella Bertozzi, alternates moments of storytelling, testimony and historical-artistic insight into Nikolais’s work. The structure takes shape anew each time, creating different times and modes of encounter with the audience.
A work that moves through time and space, reworking the past to project itself towards the future, through free and experimental possibilities of development.

NOTTE MORRICONE
CCN/Aterballetto dances Notte Morricone at the Grand Théâtre Massenet in Saint-Étienne on 5 December 2026.
“I, Ennio Morricone, am dead,” the composer wrote before taking his leave. His music, however, cannot die. This is how creators and artists always leave us without leaving us, and this is how memory takes care to keep them alive, to keep them safe. Notte Morricone is my gift, a devoted tribute to the beauty he gave the world.
Notte Morricone unfolds in the twilight of an ordinary night in the life of a creative who, alone and dazed before his sheets of paper, takes notes and visualises melodies for films that do not yet exist, bringing stories back to life in the rarefied air of his room.

It is impossible to describe Notte Morricone, a masterly piece that reaches the spectator in waves, embraces them with emotional surges and holds them in the memory of timeless melodies that have long outlived the images that gave rise to them. The finely chiselled, always poetic choreography is just as enchanting, composed with obsessive attention to detail: legs and necks seem to have no joints, bending and snapping rhythmically like metronomes.

Through an engaging movement language, rivalry turns into a play of relationships, made of tensions, encounters and harmonies. The performers, autonomous yet deeply connected individuals, build together a dance in which conflict and cooperation intertwine in a spontaneous and fluid way.
Ordinary People is a celebration of humanity, bringing to light our shared challenges and the beauty held within life’s simplest and most ordinary moments.

Monday 21 December, at 6.00 pm, the Fonderia audience will have the chance to watch the preparation of two new creations by Diego Tortelli and Roy Assaf.
Open rehearsals are unique moments in which you can watch a performance take shape, talk with the artists and be surprised by the art of dance: a special opportunity that lets the audience into the daily routine of dancers and choreographers.
