2026 opens with an intense January for CCN/Aterballetto, spanning Italian and European stages and including participation in the Celebrations of the 229th Anniversary of the Italian Tricolour Flag.

Notte Morricone in Ancona, Liège and Gütersloh

The new year opens on Saturday, January 3 at the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona with Notte Morricone by Marcos Morau, a choreographic tribute to one of the greatest Italian composers of the twentieth century.
The production then continues its international journey with a strong presence abroad: with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels, from January 23 to 25 Aterballetto will be a guest in Liège at the prestigious Pays de Danses Festival, followed by tour dates in Germany on January 28 and 29 at the Theater Gütersloh.

Bringing Aterballetto’s great dance to smaller communities as well

One of the missions of CCN/Aterballetto is to spread dance both in major theatres and in smaller, local contexts. In this spirit, January sees CCN/Aterballetto taking a leading role across the Emilia-Romagna region.

Following performances at the Teatro Asioli in Correggio (RE) and the Teatro Magnani in Fidenza (PR), Dreamers—the evening bringing together works by Diego Tortelli, Philippe Kratz, and Angelin Preljocaj—continues its tour through theatres managed by ATER Fondazione, stopping at the Teatro della Regina in Cattolica, near Rimini (Friday, January 9), and at the Teatro del Popolo in Concordia sulla Secchia, near Modena (Saturday, January 17).

Dialogue with children and families is at the heart of the performance of Stravaganze in sol minore by Francesca Lattuada, on Sunday, January 18 at the Teatro Moruzzi in Noceto (PR), as part of the children’s theatre season curated by Artemis Danza.

Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda will be staged on Sunday, January 25, with a double performance at Palazzo Bentivoglio in Gualtieri, a beautiful town near Reggio Emilia.

The Fondazione Museo Antonio Ligabue thus fulfills its vision of transforming the Salone dei Giganti into a living theatre, creating a dialogue between the frescoes inspired by Gerusalemme liberata by Torquato Tasso—including the duel between Tancredi and Clorinda—and the dance of the Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto.

Aterballetto performs for the Tricolour Celebrations on January 7

Within the framework of the 229th Anniversary Celebrations of the Italian Tricolour Flag, first adopted in 1797 in Reggio Emilia, Aterballetto proudly takes part in a moment of deep identity for both the city and the nation, performing Rhapsody in Blue at the Teatro Municipale Romolo Valli in Reggio Emilia on Wednesday, January 7.

Making the occasion even more meaningful is the honor of dancing on the same stage that, later that day, will host the lectio magistralis by Corrado Augias, in a context of particular symbolic value for the country.

Caracalla Danza 2026

A site-specific initiative from June 26 to 28, with CCN/Aterballetto leading a surprise journey through the famous spaces — and other secret and hidden ones — of the archaeological complex of the Baths of Caracalla, curated by Diego Tortelli. From June 30 to July 5, stage performances are scheduled on the Specchio d'Acqua (Water Mirror).
