Double Reality and Impromptus for the Notte Bianca of the Vittoria Alata in Brescia
CCN/Aterballetto takes part in the Notte Bianca of the Vittoria Alata organised by Fondazione Brescia Musei, celebrating 200 years since the discovery of the Vittoria Alata, a Roman bronze statue from the 1st century AD.
For the occasion, on Friday 17 July CCN/Aterballetto presents the project Double Reality. Il monumento e il suo doppio and dances Impromptus. Arie, Danze e Improvvisazioni.

On Friday 17 July in Brescia, Double Reality. Il monumento e il suo doppio gets under way — the project promoted by Fondazione Brescia Musei, the Municipality of Brescia and the Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto, bringing together dance, virtual reality and cultural heritage to experiment with new forms of participation in and engagement with the city’s museums.
The creation of the virtual-reality performances was entrusted by CCN/Aterballetto to choreographers Francesca Lattuada, Lara Guidetti and Brescia-born choreographer Diego Tortelli, who devised original creations for the Capitoline Temple, home to the Vittoria Alata, the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, the Museo di Santa Giulia, the Castello di Brescia with the “Leonessa d’Italia” Museum of the Risorgimento and the “Luigi Marzoli” Museum of Arms.
The virtual-reality filming and technological development are by Impersive.
The Double Reality project is developed within Ecomic – a digital ecosystem for culture, promoted by the Ministry of Culture thanks to the NRRP M1C3 1.1 investment “Strategies and platforms for cultural heritage,” coordinated by the Central Institute for the Digitisation of Cultural Heritage – Digital Library, in implementation of the measures established by the Directorate-General for Digitisation and Communication. It offers an immersive experience in which the performing arts, digital technologies and cultural heritage engage in dialogue in unprecedented ways.
Through virtual reality and interaction with dance, visitors are invited to experience the museum from a new perspective, in which the body becomes a means of mediation between the artwork and the exhibition space. Double Reality thus broadens the possibilities of encountering heritage, transforming the traditional relationship between past and present into a participatory experience, one that combines technological innovation with cultural enhancement.

Impromptus. Arie, Danze e Improvvisazioni is an original project by the Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto and Fondazione Ravenna Manifestazioni that celebrates the meeting of dance and music through the language of improvisation. On stage, dancers Matilde Di Ciolo and Matteo Capetola engage in dialogue with the accordion of Simone Zanchini, giving life to a performance that is born in the moment, out of mutual listening and creative sharing. Movement and sound intertwine in a continuous process of transformation, moving beyond the conventions of composition to deliver an experience that is unique, authentic and unrepeatable every time. Impromptus invites the audience to witness a living creative act, in which improvisation rediscovers its deepest meaning: that of an open, spontaneous and profoundly human dialogue.
