From Caracalla Danza to Bolzanodanza: festivals are in the air this July
CCN/Aterballetto dances the final performances of the 2025/2026 season
Rome – Caracalla Danza
The month of July opens with the final three dates of Caracalla Danza: from 3 to 5 July CCN/Aterballetto returns to the Reflecting Pool of the Baths of Caracalla with the triptych Preludio by Diego Tortelli, An Echo, A Wave by Philippe Kratz and BLISS by Johan Inger.
Preludio by Diego Tortelli opens with the intensity of a secular prayer inspired by the writing of Nick Cave: five dancers embodying obsessions, addictions and desires in a hymn to the body and its ceaseless transformation. From that tension unfolds An Echo, A Wave by Philippe Kratz, where the flowing movements of the two performers evoke the rhythm of the sea. Closing the triptych, BLISS by Johan Inger, one of the most beloved titles in the company’s repertoire, revived for the occasion with an entirely new cast: a special return to the Baths of Caracalla to celebrate ten years since its 2016 debut.

Fürstenfeldbruck – Dance First Festival
On 9 July the company will be at the Dance First Festival in Fürstenfeldbruck (Germany) with a programme that takes shape as a true concert in dance. Rhapsody in Blue by Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich opens the evening with the brilliant, irresistible energy of Gershwin’s celebrated piece. It is followed by An Echo, A Wave by Philippe Kratz, Reconciliatio by Angelin Preljocaj — a delicate female duet set to the notes of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata — and Solo Echo by Crystal Pite, which, through Brahms’s sonatas for piano and cello, explores the themes of acceptance and loss.

Trento – Haydn’s Summer 2026 | Bolzano – Bolzanodanza Festival
From Bavaria to Trentino-Alto Adige: in three castles between Trento and Bolzano, CCN/Aterballetto dances Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Philippe Kratz and Fabio Cherstich, accompanied by the voice of a countertenor and the music of a harpsichord and two strings.
