Audition

Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto, in partnership with the Athens and Epidaurus Festival and MM Contemporary Dance Company, is looking for young Greek dancers that will to join to an international educational project, curated by some of the most interesting choreographers of the Greek and Italian scene.

From January 2019, in collaboration with Athens and Epidaurus Festival it will promote an international project titled Return Trip, that will offer the possibility to Greek dancers to come in Italy for an intensive workshop within Agora Coaching Project, an educational programme/professional contemporary dance training course, lead by MM Contemporary Dance Company, directed by Michele Merola and Enrico Morelli (www.michelemerola.it).

Aim of the project is to offer to the dancers the possibility to join to an international professional contemporary dance course for 3 weeks in June 2019 in Reggio Emilia, Italy, studying with renown Italian and Greek choreographers: Michele Merola, Enrico Morelli, Christos Papadopoulos, Euripides Laskaridis and Patricia Apergi.

The final result of the workshop will be presented in prestigious contexts in Reggio Emilia and other venues in Italy.

The selected dancers will be awarded with a scholarship that will cover any cost (trips, diaries, accommodation, cost of the course) related to the participation to the workshop. Some of the dancers could be involved also in new productions of Aterballetto company. At the end of the project two of the dancers may be offered a one-year intern in Aterballetto Company or one-year scholarship to join the 2019/2020 Agora Coaching Project.

Selection for a 3 weeks International Educational Project.

The audition is delivered for male and female dancers with:

  • excellent classical technique and excellent contemporary dance technique;
  • fluent spoken English;
  • Greek nationality;
  • age between 18 and 25 years.

Project

3 weeks between June and July 2019, Fonderia (headquarters of Fondazione Nazionale della Danza) and other venue in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

The final dates of the project will be announced by email to every participant before the audition.

Caracalla Danza 2026

A site-specific initiative from June 26 to 28, with CCN/Aterballetto leading a surprise journey through the famous spaces — and other secret and hidden ones — of the archaeological complex of the Baths of Caracalla, curated by Diego Tortelli. From June 30 to July 5, stage performances are scheduled on the Specchio d'Acqua (Water Mirror).
