CALL FOR A SITE-SPECIFIC PROJECT – 2024

The National Choreographic Center / Aterballetto is looking for 1 male dancer and 1 female dancer for a new production titled “Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda”, directed by Fabio Cherstich and choreographed by Daniele Albanese.

The choreography, accompanied by live music, is part of an elaborate site-specific project designed for museum and theater settings, curated by CCN/Aterballetto in co-production with Fondazione Teatro Regio di Parma / Festival Verdi, Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale, and Centro di Musica Antica Ghislieri.

The rehearsal period is tentatively scheduled for the weeks of May, July, and September 2024 in Reggio Emilia, at the headquarters of the National Choreographic Center / Aterballetto.

The debut is set for mid-September with a tour that will visit various Italian cities from September to November 2024. Additional performances are still being defined.

The requirements to participate in the audition are:

  • Excellent preparation in contemporary dance
  • Professional experience in contemporary dance companies
  • +18 years old

The audition, by invitation only, will take place on April 4th at the headquarters of the National Choreographic Center / Aterballetto, via della Costituzione 39 – Reggio Emilia.

The audition will be divided into three parts:

  • 1. Classical dance class (barre and center)
  • 2. Workshop to assess the ability to learn the given choreographic material
  • 3. Improvisation workshop on the project “Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda”
