TUESDAY 5 DECEMBER / THE DAY WHEN I CHOSE TO BE A DAUGHTER

Dacru Dance Company

Tuesday 5 December / 8:30 PM

Urban dance transforms into a true theatrical narrative with the brand-new creation by Dacru Dance Company: an analysis imbued with secret visions, questioning the central issue: does being a child last a lifetime?

SUNDAY 17 DECEMBER / DARWIN

Compagnia Artemis Danza

Sunday 17 December / 6:00 PM

Darwin – M/eta/ morfosi is a dance and theater show dedicated to girls and boys, inspired by the theme of growth and transformation.

Just as the caterpillar transforms and becomes a butterfly through a biological cycle called metamorphosis, so too does man pass through multiple stages before undergoing evolution. From single-celled organisms to Homo Sapiens, from newborn to adult, everything evolves in the continuous pursuit of perfection… but something has gone wrong! The planet is in danger, and humanity is certainly not without flaws. Thus, an eccentric scientist tries to tell us what has happened to humanity and the Earth, for better or for worse, from the beginning of time until today. Assisting him in this endeavor is a multifaceted and ever-changing character, who communicates not with words but with the body and movement, embodying the different phases of this wild metamorphosis. A synergy between dance and prose theater, expressiveness of gesture and word that takes the audience on a fun and educational journey where fantasy, science, and creativity come together.

FRIDAY 22 DECEMBER / Made in Italy 30.0

Michele Merola – Emanuele Soavi / Agora Coaching Project

Friday 22 December / 1st performance at 6:00 PM – 2nd performance at 9:00 PM

B.7 SYMPHONY by Emanuele Soavi
Beethoven’s tireless drive towards artistic renewal and his dissected and even visionary vision of the social and political movements of his time give his work an inexhaustible energy, like a continuous flow, just like the flood in nature when it changes the shape of the landscape and living conditions. This idea of constant change, of juxtaposition of opposites, of interaction, exchange, of shared emotions and experiences is essentially the starting point of this choreographic composition. Both the stage itself and the protagonists who populate it with their movements constantly assume a new shape in each of the individual parts, creating abstract images that consciously and unconsciously contemporaneously define the idea of a multifaceted self, living today in a modern society that is in a state of continuous upheaval and change.

GERSHWIN SUITE by Michele Merola
In the notes of George Gershwin (1898-1937), one of the most representative musicians of the 20th century, reflects the spirit of the time in which they are created, the moods and atmospheres of the Roaring Twenties. Starting from the best pieces of the composer, and from the suggestions of the pictorial works of another great American artist of the 20th century, Edward Hopper (1882-1967), Michele Merola created Gershwin Suite. On stage, a lot of variety takes on the modes of a film set, also thanks to a constantly changing set design, just like on a set, and a choreography that touches more keys, the work of a choreographer capable of expressing their creativity and talent in step with the times of contemporaneity.
