Dance in Fonderia

On October 4th, the dance season of our Fonderia begins. From October to December, eight companies will enliven the stage of the National Choreographic Center, captivating the audience in a creative fusion of visions, art, and energy.

October

October, a month for authors! And what better way to start, than with an evening dedicated to Maria Callas? The COB Compagnia Opus Ballet‘s Callas Callas Callas project is a tribute to the iconic soprano by three young signatures from the Italian auteur scene: Adriano Bolognino, Carlo Massari and Roberto Tedesco. Following, MM Contemporary Dance Company presents its Night Stories, a triple bill by choreographers Enrico Morelli, Michele Merola and Adriano Bolognino. The third show is Davidson by Balletto Civile: choreographer Michela Lucenti is inspired by an unrealised film work by Pier Paolo Pasolini, with a talented young performer on stage.The month ends with an appointment that should not be missed: Hold your Horses by De Dansers from Utrecht. After its debut in Berlin in 2021, it comes to Fonderia to amaze audiences with spectacular acrobatics and live music.

COB Compagnia Opus Ballet‘s new production pays tribute to the great singer with a “choreographic triple bill” by Adriano Bolognino, Carlo Massari and Roberto Tedesco: an innovative look at the life of one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century.

Wednesday, October 11th | 8:30 PM

At Fonderia, the new evening of MM Contemporary Dance Company. NIGHT STORIES is a triptych composed of WEIRDO_Prime Studio by Enrico Morelli, Short Stories by Michele Merola, and Skirk by Adriano Bolognino, confirming the quality of the company.

Wednesday 18 October | 8.30 p.m.

Between work of literature and physical theatre, DAVIDSON is Balletto Civile‘s choreographic piece inspired by Il Padre Selvaggio, a script sketched and never produced by Pier Paolo Pasolini. The protagonist is a talented young performer to watch out for.

Sunday 29 October | 6 p.m.

HOLD YOUR HORSES is a show about the desire to resist in an increasingly elusive world. The dancers of the De Dansers company tell their story with twelve hands, their bodies and some guitars in the background.

November

In November, an opportunity to be thrilled and enchanted. On Saturday, November 18th, the afternoon is dedicated to children aged 4 and up, with the production of Sosta Palmizi‘s Esercizi di Fantastica: inspired by the stories of Gianni Rodari, the show will surely entertain and amaze both young and old.

Dedicated to children aged 4 and up, ESERCIZI DI FANTASTICA is a Sosta Palmizi production inspired by the words of Gianni Rodari to recount the transformative power of imagination through the language of movement.

December

The holiday month kicks off with urban dance by Dacru Dance Company and continues with an evening full of talent from Studio XL. Fonderia closes for the Christmas holidays with a creation by Christian Pellino and Francesco Marchi, associates of Compagnia Artemis Danza / Monica Casadei, dedicated to kids and families.

Tuesday 5 December | 8.30 p.m.

Urban dance is transformed into a true theatrical tale with Dacru Dance Company‘s newest creation: an analysis steeped in secret visions, which examines the pivotal question: does being son/daughter last a lifetime?

Wednesday 13 December | 8.30 p.m.

The talent of the young dancers of the advanced training course StudioXL Reggio Emilia of the XL Dance Company is the protagonist of this evening in the halls of Fonderia.

Sunday 17 December | 6 p.m.

Between dance and theatre, DARWIN M/ETA/ MORFOSI investigates the theme of growth and transformation, wringing more than a smile from the audience of children and families. The authors Christian Pellino and Francesco Marchi are associated artists of the Compagnia Artemis Danza / Monica Casadei.

On Friday, July 17, we will present our VR Corner at Rocchetta Mattei (Grizzana Morandi, Bologna). DANSITE is a project that promotes the artistic heritage of the Emilia-Romagna Region through dance and virtual reality.

Caracalla Danza 2026

A site-specific initiative from June 26 to 28, with CCN/Aterballetto leading a surprise journey through the famous spaces — and other secret and hidden ones — of the archaeological complex of the Baths of Caracalla, curated by Diego Tortelli. From June 30 to July 5, stage performances are scheduled on the Specchio d'Acqua (Water Mirror).
