REVIVAL RHAPSODY: THE INTERGENERATIONAL DANCE WORKSHOP RETURNS TO REGGIO EMILIA
After the success of Dal Liscio al Rave, here comes Revival Rhapsody: the new edition of the intergenerational dance workshop curated by Lara Guidetti. The project sees renewed collaboration with the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, for a new edition aimed at an audience of all ages, from 16 years old and up. The workshop is free, and no previous experience in dance or ballet study is required to participate.
Mandatory registration from October 20th to November 6th, 2023
Start of the workshop: November 14th, 2023
Final performance: May 18th, 2024
Classes: twice a month
Revival Rhapsody is born as an evolution of the workshop Dal liscio al Rave, a journey undertaken during the 2022/2023 season by FND/Aterballetto, Municipality of Reggio Emilia – Laboratorio aperto Chiostri San Pietro, Fondazione I Teatri, designed for citizens over 55 and under 25.
The new edition is aimed at people of all ages, with the aim of building a participatory group capable of connecting different ways of inhabiting a place through the language of dance. Revival means “revival, rebirth, awakening”: material deposited within bodies that, depending on the phase of life one is in, can be very different, but that is always present in each of us and constitutes a source of creativity and intergenerational dialogue. The rhapsody evokes a free and varied composition, built from the combination of melodic ideas that focus on a popular and communicable narrative. The new workshop aims to give voice to ‘multiple uniquenesses’ within a collective discourse, transforming the dance hall into a space for dialogue and mutual understanding between generations, a place open to participation and listening.
Revival Rhapsody will be officially presented in October with two open days, which will offer citizens the opportunity to learn about the details of the project and participate in a workshop trial.
