DANZA IN FONDERIA: January Events

Let’s welcome this new year and open the new season of Danza in Fonderia with a schedule full of events for everyone!

January program features a weekend entirely dedicated to children with a double performance of the show Pop Up – Fossile di un cartone animato, produced by Teatro delle Briciole. Additionally, we present a not-to-be-missed appointment with contemporary dance by Manfredi Perego e Balletto Teatro di Torino. At the end of the month, as usual, we open the doors of the Fonderia for an open rehearsal by the Aterballetto Company, anticipating the debut of Rhapsody in Blue on February 17th at the Teatro Regio in Parma.

Saturday 20 – Sunday 21 January / 6:00 PM

Reinventing the animated book in theatrical form,  Pop up – An animated cardboard fossil weaves the micro-stories of a paper child and a small, enigmatic sphere: the rhythmic, chromatic, and sonic evolutions of their relationship, their encounters, their specularities, their transformations.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24th / RUGGINE | PLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT

Manfredi Perego/Tir Danza | Balletto Teatro di Torino

Wednesday 24 January / Open rehearsal at 6:00 PM | Performance at 8:30 PM

Ruggine / Manfredi Perego – Tir Danza

Ruggine  is a reflection on the product of the antagonism between darkness and light within humans. Like in a liberating dedication to the annoying part of ourselves, the choreography outlines and traverses a sequence devoid of chronology, an ideal representation of what is usually considered a flaw.

PLAY_BACH DIVERTISSEMENT / Balletto Teatro di Torino

The choreographic challenge is to give visual and dynamic concreteness to the emotion that each note expresses, capturing the nuances of Bach’s music by translating into dance a process of emotional analysis of what the musical score suggests. The violence and sweetness arising from the vibration of the played notes must have a physical correspondence, creating dances that traverse worlds of new carnal frequencies.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 30th / Prova aperta Aterballetto

Compagnia Aterballetto

Tuesday 30 January / 6:00 PM

The usual appointment with Aterballetto’s open rehearsals is back! This month, the audience at the Fonderia will witness the preparation of Rhapsody in Blue, the new creation by Basque choreographers Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, which will debut at the Teatro Regio in Parma on February 17, 2024.
