On Saturday, November 4th, a dual performance awaits CCN/Aterballetto at the Teatro Municipale Valli in Reggio Emilia as part of the Festival Aperto: in the afternoon, Aterballetto’s dancers guide the audience through a dance journey in the indoor rooms of the theater, presenting four MicroDanze; in the evening, the artistic core of the Over Dance project, featuring the acclaimed choreographies by Rachid Ouramdane and Angelin Preljocaj, takes the stage at the theater for the first stop of the Italian tour.

These events are part of DanzER, a project dedicated to the international promotion of contemporary dance in Emilia-Romagna.

MICRODANZE

A project that goes beyond traditional stage dynamics, bridging the gap between the audience and performers, and offering a diverse and original emotional and aesthetic experience.

MicroDanze are brief performances for small spaces, offering a museum-like sequential experience. Conceived by Gigi Cristoforetti, this project enriches the dance-art connection through innovative performance modes

The journey within Teatro Valli begins in the foyer and continues through the theater to Sala degli Specchi. This ‘danced exhibition’ features four choreographies by Elena Kekkou, Francesca Lattuada, Angelin Preljocaj, and Diego Tortelli, who presents the premiere of A Gig on this occasion.

OVER DANCE – UN JOUR NOUVEAU / BIRTHDAY PARTY

What is the age of a body?

The transformation of the body with age is a central theme in our society. For actors, writers, and visual artists, aging presents no problem. But what about dancers? Choreographers Angelin Preljocaj and Rachid Ouramdane delve into this theme, exploring questions about the body’s true age, beauty, and self-representation.

They focus on ‘senior’ performers, taking a unique approach that transcends traditional boundaries. Unlike other experiences that aimed to extend dancers’ careers, their project is poetic and raises universal questions. Preljocaj prompts a central question: “What is the age of a body?”
