Viva la Danza: primetime on Rai 1 with Roberto Bolle”

On the occasion of the International Dance Day, April 29th, in prime time, at 9:30 PM, on Rai 1, a grand event wanted by RAI and the Ministry of Culture, conceived by Roberto Bolle to celebrate the art of dance in Italy.

Viva la Danza is a grand celebration, a Gala held at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, one of the largest theaters in the world, a jewel of innovation. Among the great performers involved is also the Aterballetto Company, performing with the new choreography by Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich, set to the famous notes of George Gershwin‘s Rhapsody in Blue.

The show brings together some of the brightest stars of the international dance scene from Melissa Hamilton to Daniil Simkin, from Teatro alla Scala Étoile Nicoletta Manni to Tatiana Melnik, from Timofej Andrijashenko to Virna Toppi, Toon Lobach, Fumi Kaneko, continuing with the young Italian talent at the Royal Ballet in London, Marco Masciari, to William Bracewell and the MM Contemporary Dance Company and the students of the Ballet School of the Teatro alla Scala Academy – with an unpredictable and enchanting mix of pieces from the classical repertoire blended with contemporary works.

The narrative is enriched with many storylines that make the show a joyful and surprising celebration: from behind the scenes, where the artists meet just before the performance, to the intertwining of dance and life stories, the mechanics of theater and its “inhabitants.” In addition to the television’s frontal view, there’s a more intimate and unrestrained gaze of a camera capturing the spirit of dance in its fullest expression, entering a fantastic, poetic, and at the same time, fun and unconventional world.
